Contribution of simplest loops is studied in the Local Reggeon Field Theory with a supercritical pomeron in the nuclear matter. It is shown that the latter transforms the supercritical pomeron into the subcritical. Renormalization of the intercept and difficulties related to the fact that the renormalized intercept is complex are discussed. Numerical results with the conventional parameters are reported.
In this paper we present the all-loop conjecture for integrands of Wilson line form factors, also known as reggeon amplitudes, in N=4 SYM. In particular we present a new gluing operation in momentum twistor space used to obtain reggeon tree-level amplitudes and loop integrands starting from corresponding expressions for on-shell amplitudes. The introduced gluing procedure is used to derive BCFW recursions both for tree-level reggeon amplitudes and their loop integrands. In addition we provide predictions for reggeon loop integrands written in the basis of local integrals. As a check of the cor…
Elastic diffractive scattering of nucleons is described in terms of Regge-eikonal approach. It is demonstrated that, in a wide kinematic region (starting from the U-70 energies), the eikonal of proton-proton scattering can be approximated by the sum of two Reggeon exchange terms (namely, the so-called soft Pomeron and $f$-Reggeon contributions). The range of applicability of the considered approximation is determined. The predictive value of the proposed phenomenological scheme is verified.
We review recent progress on the calculation of scattering amplitudes in the high-energy limit. We start by illustrating the shockwave formalism, which allows one to calculate amplitudes as iterated solutions of rapidity evolution equations. We then focus on our recent results regarding $2\to 2$ parton scattering. We present the calculation of the imaginary part of the amplitude, at next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy in the high-energy logarithms, formally to all orders, and in practice to 13 loops. We then discuss the computation of the real part of the amplitude at next-to-next-to-leading …
We study hard diffractive scattering in hadron-hadron collisions including, on top of the standard Pomeron-initiated processes, contributions due to the exchange of Reggeons. Using a simple model to describe the parton content of the Reggeon, we compute di-jet production in single diffractive and central diffractive events. We show that Reggeon contributions can be sizable at the LHC, and even sometimes dominant, and we identify kinematic windows in which they could be experimentally studied. We argue that suitable measurements must be performed in order to properly constrain the model, and be…
Using an iterative solution of rapidity evolution equations, we compute partonic $2\to 2$ gauge theory amplitudes at four loops in full colour up to the Next-to-Next-to-Leading Logarithms (NNLL) in the Regge limit. By contrasting the resulting amplitude with the exponentiation properties of soft singularities we determine the four-loop correction to the soft anomalous dimension at this logarithmic accuracy, which universally holds in any gauge theory. We find that the latter features quartic Casimir contributions beyond those appearing in the cusp anomalous dimension. Finally, in the case of $…
We test the consistency of the data on the nucleon structure functions with analyticity and the Regge asymptotics of the virtual Compton amplitude. By solving a functional extremal problem, we derive an optimal lower bound on the maximum difference between the exact amplitude and the dominant Reggeon contribution for energies $ν$ above a certain high value $ν_h(Q^2)$. Considering in particular the difference of the amplitudes $T_1^\inel(ν, Q^2)$ for the proton and neutron, we find that the lower bound decreases in an impressive way when $ν_h(Q^2)$ is increased, and represents a very small frac…
We use holographic QCD to study Pomeron- and Reggeon-mediated central production in Regge regime hadronic scattering. We focus specifically on $η$ production in proton-proton collisions. While previous work studied the Pomeron-mediated process, the mesonic Regge trajectories ("Reggeons") we now incorporate contribute significantly at experimentally probed energies. We use the five-point open string amplitude (in flat space) to construct approximate propagators for the Reggeon states, and the five-point closed string amplitude for the Pomeron. Using these "holographic" Reggeons and Pomerons, an…
In this letter we demonstrate that a model which is based on the CGC/saturation approach, is able to describe soft interaction collisions for the wide range of $W=\sqrt{s} = 30 \,GeV ÷\, 13 \,TeV$ including the new TOTEM data at 13 TeV. We have incorporated the secondary Reggeons in our approach which enables us to describe the complete set of the soft data, including the energy behaviour of $ρ$ the ratio of the real to imaginary parts of the elastic scattering amplitude. We argue that it is premature to claim that an odderon contribution is necessary, but estimate its possible strength as $1 …
Using rapidity evolution equations we study two-to-two gauge-theory scattering amplitudes in the Regge limit. We carry out explicit computations at next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy through four loops and present new results for both infrared-singular and finite contributions to the amplitude. New techniques are devised in order to derive the colour structure stemming from three-Reggeon exchange diagrams in terms of commutators of channel operators, obtaining results that are valid for any gauge group, and apply to scattered particles in any colour representation. We also elucidate …
We calculate the amplitude of elastic photon-photon scattering via a single quark loop in the Double-Logarithmic Approximation, presuming all external photons to be off-shell and unpolarized.. At the same time we account for the running coupling effects. We consider this process in the forward kinematics at arbitrary relations between t and the external photon virtualities. We obtain explicit expressions for the photon-photon scattering amplitudes in all double-logarithmic kinematic regions. Then we calculate the small-x asymptotics of the obtained amplitudes and compare them with the parent a…
We consider the reaction (gamma p) to (pi+ pi- p) at high energies. Our description includes dipion production via the resonances rho, omega, rho-prime and f2, and via non-resonant mechanisms. The calculation is based on a model of high energy scattering with the exchanges of photon, pomeron, odderon and reggeons. The pomeron and the C=+1 reggeons are described as effective tensor exchanges, the odderon and the C=-1 reggeons as effective vector exchanges. We obtain a gauge-invariant version of the Drell-Soeding mechanism which produces the skewing of the rho-meson shape. Starting from the expl…
