We determine the mass and strength of the scalar meson from NN scattering data by renormalizing the One Boson Exchange Potential. This procedure provides a great insensitivity to the unknown short distance interaction making the vector mesons marginally important and allowing for SU(3) couplings in the 1S0 channel. The scalar meson parameters are tightly constrained by low energy np. We discuss whether this scalar should be compared to the recent findings based on the Roy equations analysis of pipi scattering.
The renormalised form factors for pseudoscalar meson-baryon coupling are computed in chiral colour dielectric model. This has been done by rearranging the Lippmann-Schwinger series for the meson baryon scattering matrix so that it can be expressed as a baryon pole term with renormalized form factors and baryon masses and the rest of the terms which arise from the crossed diagrams. Thus we are able to obtain an integral equation for the renormalized meson-baryon form factors in terms of the bare form factors as well as an expression for the meson self energy. This integral equation is solved an…
Wigner symmetry in Nuclear Physics provides a unique example of a non-perturbative long distance symmetry, a symmetry strongly broken at short distances. We analyse the consequences of such a concept within the framework of One Boson Exchange Potentials in NN scattering and keeping the leading Nc contributions. Phenomenologically successful relations between singlet 1S0 and triplet 3S1 scattering phase shifts are provided in the entire elastic region. We establish symmetry breaking relations among non-central phase shifts which are successfully fulfilled by even-L partial waves and strongly vi…
We investigate the restoration of chiral symmetry at finite temperature in the SU(2) quark meson model where the mean field approximation is compared to the renormalized version for quarks and mesons. In a combined approach at finite temperature all the renormalized versions show a crossover transition. The inclusion of different renormalization scales leave the order parameter and the mass spectra nearly untouched, but strongly influence the thermodynamics at low temperatures and around the phase transition. We find unphysical results for the renormalized version of mesons and the combined on…
In this letter we study the high energy behavior of the forward differential cross section for the $^{18}O(π^+,π^-)^{18}Ne$ double charge exchange reaction. We have evaluated the sequential and the meson exchange current mechanisms. The meson exchange current contribution shows a very weak energy dependence and becomes relevant at incident pion kinetic energies above 600 MeV.
Two-meson-exchange nucleon-nucleon potentials are derived where either one or both nucleons contains a pair vertex. Physically, the meson-pair vertices are meant to describe in an effective way (part of) the effects of heavy-meson exchange and meson-nucleon resonances. {}From the point of view of ``duality,'' these two kinds of contribution are roughly equivalent. The various possibilities for meson pairs coupling to the nucleon are inspired by the chiral-invariant phenomenological Lagrangians that have appeared in the literature. The coupling constants are fixed using the linear $σ$ model. We…
The Nijmegen soft-core model for the pseudoscalar-meson baryon interaction is derived, analogous to the Nijmegen NN and YN models. The interaction Hamiltonians are defined and the resulting amplitudes for one-meson-exchange and one-baryon-exchange in momentum space are given for the general mass case. The partial wave projection is carried through and explicit expressions for the momentum space partial wave meson-baryon potentials are presented.
The contribution of the tensor meson $K_2^*(1430)$ exchange in the process $γp\to K^+Λ(Σ^0)$ is investigated within the Regge framework. Inclusion of the $K_2^*$ exchange in the $K(494)+K^*(892)$ exchanges with the coupling constants chosen from the SU(3) symmetry leads to a better description of the production mechanism without referring to any fitting procedure. This shows the significance of the role of the tensor meson exchange to have the Regge theory basically free of parameters with the SU(3) symmetry a good approximation for the meson-baryon couplings.
The energy transfer spectra have been calculated for the coherent $η$ meson production in the proton nucleus reaction. The elementary reaction occurring in the nucleus is considered as $ pN \to pN^*(1535) $; $ N^*(1535) \to Nη$. The $N^*(1535)$ excitation for the forward going proton and $η$ meson is occurred due to the $π^0$ and $η$ meson exchange interactions, other mesons do not contribute in this process. The cross sections are calculated for the $π^0$ and $η$ meson exchange interactions, and the effect of their interference on the cross section is also studied. The initial and final state…
Modifications to the nucleon electric polarizability induced by pion and sigma exchange in the q-q potentials are studied by means of sum rule techniques within a non-relativistic quark model. Contributions from meson exchange interactions are found to be small and in general reduce the quark core polarizability for a number of hybrid and one-boson-exchange q-q models. These results can be explained by the constraints that the baryonic spectrum impose on the short range behavior of the mesonic interactions.
Traditionally isospin violation (charge symmetry breaking and charge dependence) has been modeled by the exchange of mesons between two nucleons. Sources of isospin violation in these models include meson mass differences, meson mixing (of pseudoscalar, vector, and axial-vector mesons) and isospin violating couplings of mesons with nucleons. I will review the calculated results of this theoretical approach and the NN data on isospin violation.
Short range meson-exchange mechanisms such as $ρ\toωπ^0$ contribute significantly to the amplitude for $pp\rightarrow ppπ^0$ near threshold in addition to pion rescattering. The uncertainty of the latter contribution, which depends on poorly determined parameters, is estimated. Allowing for this uncertainty and taking the short range meson-exchange contributions into account makes it possible to reproduce the measured cross section.
We present a new model for the hyperon-nucleon (Lambda N, Sigma N) interaction, derived within the meson exchange framework. The model incorporates the standard one boson exchange contributions of the lowest pseudoscalar and vector meson multiplets with coupling constants fixed by SU(6) symmetry relations. In addition - as the main feature of the new model - the exchange of two correlated pions or kaons, both in the scalar-isoscalar (sigma) and vector-isovector (rho) channels, is included.
Relativistic effects and the role of heavy meson exchange in deuteron photodisintegration are studied systematically for photon energies below the pion production threshold. In a (p/M)-expansion, all leading order relativistic one-body and pi-exchange as well as all static heavy meson exchange currents consistent with the Bonn OBEPQ model are included. In addition, one- and two-body boost effects have been investigated. Sizeable effects from the various two-body contributions beyond pi-exchange have been found in almost every observable considered, i.e., differential cross section and single p…
We calculate the total mass, radius, moment of inertia and surface gravitational redshift for neutron stars using various equations of state. The latter are derived from recent meson-exchange potential models, employing both a relativistic and a non-relativistic Brueckner-Hartree-Fock approach.
This is the contribution to the proceedings of the MENU 2010 conference. The recent work of Ref. [7] is summarized. Elastic piN scattering and the reaction pi^+ p --> K^+ Sigma^+ are described simultaneously in a unitary coupled-channels approach which respects analyticity. SU(3) flavor symmetry is used to relate the t- and u- channel exchanges that drive the meson-baryon interaction in the different channels. Angular distributions, polarizations, and spin-rotation parameters are compared with available experimental data. The pole structure of the amplitudes is extracted from the analytic cont…
We present pp-bremsstrahlung cross section calculations at the $π$-production threshold to search for kinematics that best differentiate model-dependent descriptions of the NN $t$-matrix and accentuate the contributions of isoscalar meson-exchange currents. Existing optimization procedures are shown to be completely unreliable due to the neglect of meson-exchange currents and phase space variations. We show that phase-space hides the most important differences in model $t$-matrices, but that improved data will be critical to further investigations of exchange currents.
Pion-meson-exchange nucleon-nucleon potentials are derived for two nucleons in the intermediate states. The mesons we include are (i) pseudoscalar mesons: $π, η, η'$; (ii) vector mesons: $ρ, ω, ϕ$; (iii) scalar mesons: $a_{0}(980), \varepsilon(760), f_{0}(975)$; and (iv) the $J=0$ contribution from the Pomeron. Strong dynamical pair suppression is assumed, and at the nucleon-nucleon-meson vertices Gaussian form factors are incorporated into the relativistic two-body framework using a dispersion representation for the pion- and meson-exchange amplitudes. The Fourier transformations are performe…
Through a quantitative comparative study of the properties of deuteron and nucleon-nucleon interaction with chiral quark model and quark delocalization color screening model. We show that the $σ$-meson exchange used in the chiral quark model can be replaced by quark delocalization and color screening mechanism.
We take an approach to the Lambda non-mesonic weak decay in nuclei based on the exchange of mesons. The one pion and one kaon exchange are considered, together with the exchange of two pions, either correlated, leading to an important scalar-isoscalar exchange (sigma-like exchange), or uncorrelated (box diagrams). Extra effects of omega exchange in the scalar-isoscalar channel are also considered. Constraints of chiral dynamics are used to generate these exchanges. A drastic reduction of the OPE results for the Gamma_n/Gamma_p ratio is obtained and the new results are compatible with all prese…
Recent calculations of $s$-wave pion production have severely underestimated the accurately known $pp\rightarrow ppπ^0$\ total cross section near threshold. In these calculations, only the single-nucleon axial-charge operator is considered. We have calculated, in addition to the one-body term, the two-body contributions to this reaction that arise from the exchange of mesons. We find that the inclusion of the scalar $σ$-meson exchange current (and lesser contributions from other mesons) increases the cross section by about a factor of five, and leads to excellent agreement with the data. The r…
The production of mesons in nucleon-nucleon collisions is reviewed from the viewpoint of the meson-exchange picture. In the first part various possible production mechanisms and their relative importance are discussed. In addition, general features of meson production are described. In the second part special emphasis is put on pion production. Implications of chiral perturbation theory are discussed. Results based on a specific meson-exchange model for pion production in nucleon-nucleon collisions are presented. The model is utilized to calculate several spin-dependent observables of the reac…
We update our previous results for the nonmesonic decay of $^{12}_Λ$C and $^5_Λ$He. We pay special attention to the role played by Final State Intreractions on the decay observables. We follow a One-Meson-Exchange model which includes the exchange of the $π, ρ, K, K^*, η$ and $ω$ mesons. We also present recent predictions for different observables concerning the decay of the doubly strange $^6_{ΛΛ}$He hypernucleus.
Deformed Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations for finite nuclei are carried out. As residual interaction, a Brueckner G-matrix derived from a meson-exchange potential is taken. Phenomenological medium modifications of the meson masses are introduced. The binding energies, radii, and deformation parameters of the Carbon, Oxygen, Neon, and Magnesium isotope chains are found to be in good agreement with the experimental data.
The non-mesonic weak decay of $Λ$--hypernuclei is studied within a one-meson-exchange potential supplemented by a chirally motivated two-pion-exchange mechanism. The effects of final state interactions on the outgoing nucleons are also taken into account. In view of the severe discrepancies between theoretical expectations and experimental data, particular attention is payed to the asymmetry of the protons emitted by polarized hypernuclei. The one-meson-exchange model describes the non-mesonic rates and the neutron-to-proton ratio satisfactorily but predicts a too large and negative asymmetry …
We discuss the photoproduction of omega- and rho0-mesons off protons in the particular channel where the target proton is excited to a Roper resonance N*(1440). We propose a simple meson-exchange model for these processes in order to evaluate their cross sections near threshold and at low momentum transfers. It is suggested in particular that the differential cross section for the associated photoproduction of a rho0-meson and a Roper resonance in these kinematic conditions could provide direct information on the strength of the scalar-isoscalar excitation of the N*(1440) and hence on the magn…
Exchange current corrections are calculated using currents found from the hard-pion model and AV14+3BF wavefunctions. Results are given for the rate and spin observables. Their sensitivity to g_P, the nucleon pseudoscalar form factor, is reported.
We take an approach to the $Λ$ nonmesonic weak decay in nuclei based on the exchange of mesons under the guidelines of chiral Lagrangians. The one pion and one kaon exchange are considered, together with the exchange of two pions, either correlated, leading to an important scalar-isoscalar exchange ($σ$-like exchange), or uncorrelated (box diagrams). A drastic reduction of the OPE results for the $Γ_n/Γ_p$ ratio is obtained and the new results are compatible with all present experiments within errors. The absolute rates obtained for different nuclei are also in fair agreement with experiment.
We analyze the influence of $σ$ meson exchange on the main nonmesonic hypernuclear weak decay observables: the total rate, $Γ_{NM}$, the neutron-to-proton branching ratio, $Γ_{n/p}$, and the proton asymmetry parameter, $a_Λ$. The $σ$ meson exchange is added to the standard strangeness-changing weak $ΛN\to NN$ transition potential, which includes the exchange of the complete pseudoscalar and vector mesons octet ($π$, $η$, $K$, $ρ$, $ω$, $K^*$). Using a shell model formalism, the $σ$ meson weak coupling constants are adjusted to reproduce the recent $Γ_{NM}$ and $Γ_{n/p}$ experimental data for $…
We show that the assumption of dropping meson masses together with conventional many-body effects, implemented in the relativistic Dirac-Brueckner formalism, explains nuclear saturation. We use a microscopic model for correlated $2π$ exchange and include the standard many-body effects on the in-medium pion propagation, which initially increase the attractive nucleon-nucleon ($NN$) potential with density. For the vector meson exchanges in both the $ππ$ and $NN$ sector, we assume Brown-Rho scaling which---in concert with `chiral' $ππ$ contact interactions---reduces the attraction at higher densi…
We review the meson-exchange model for charmonium absorption by hadrons. This includes the construction of the interaction Lagrangians, the determination of the coupling constants, the introduction of form factors, and the predicted cross sections for $J/ψ$ absorption by both mesons and nucleons. We further discuss the effects due to anomalous parity interactions, uncertainties in form factors, constraints from chiral symmetry, and the change of charmed meson mass in medium on the cross sections for charmonium absorption in hadronic matter.
We study high-momentum distributions and short-range correlation probabilities in the deuteron with a variety of modern potentials based on chiral effective field theory up to fifth order in the chiral expansion. We also consider some conventional (meson-exchange and phenomenological) interactions. We examine our predictions in the context of short-range correlation probabilities as extracted from analyses of inclusive electron scattering data and discuss whether modern interac- tions can be reconciled with the latter.
The long-standing discrepancy between pp-bremsstrahlung data and calculations based on the relativistic impulse approximation current is substantially reduced by the inclusion of the PV$γ$ and intermediate-state $Δ$-resonance iso-scalar meson-exchange currents. The success of the standard procedures adopted here shows that pp-bremsstrahlung provides a powerful tool for the further study of $T$=1 isoscalar exchange currents. The need for addition high-precision data is stressed.
We report on the progress of the construction of the extended soft-core (ESC) Nijmegen potential. Next to the standard one-boson-exchange parts, the model includes the pion-meson-exchange potentials due to the parallel and crossed-box diagrams, as well as the one-pair and two-pair diagrams, vertices for which can be identified with similar interactions appearing in chiral-symmetric Lagrangians. Although the ESC potential is still under construction, it already gives an excellent description of all $N\!N$ scattering data below 350 MeV with $χ^{2}/{\rm datum}=1.3$.
Meson exchange contributions have been suggested as one class of medium effects which might explain the continuing discrepancy between experimental results and theoretical predictions for K+-nucleus scattering. These exchange effects are negligible for near-forward K+-deuteron scattering because of the large size of the deuteron, but at large angles they might be expected to be significant compared to the weak double scattering. Detailed calculations, however, show that the quadrupole and magnetic contributions from single scattering are large enough to dominate both double scattering and exch…
We extend the Fock-Tani formalism to include the meson-baryon interaction. The Fock-Tani formalism is a first principle method which allows the use of field theoretic methods for treating systems of composite particles. An application of this general result can be the $K^{+}N$ system which is now reconized as much more suitable system for the investigation of the short range nature of the hadronic repulsion.
Green's function Monte Carlo calculations of magnetic moments and M1 transitions including two-body meson-exchange current (MEC) contributions are reported for A<=7 nuclei. The realistic Argonne v18 two-nucleon and Illinois-2 three-nucleon potentials are used to generate the nuclear wave functions. The two-body meson-exchange operators are constructed to satisfy the continuity equation with the Argonne v18 potential. The MEC contributions increase the A=3,7 isovector magnetic moments by 16% and the A=6,7 M1 transition rates by 17--34%, bringing them into very good agreement with the experiment…
The hypernucleus production reaction $\bar p + {}^AZ \to {}^A_Λ(Z-1) + \barΛ$ in the beam momentum range 1.5-20 GeV/c is addressed theoretically as a coherent process. The calculations are based on a covariant $t$-channel meson exchange model for the elementary $\bar p p \to \barΛΛ$ annihilation amplitude with parameters fixed by comparison with empirical data. Besides pseudo-scalar $K$ and vector $K^*$ mesons we also account for correlated $πK$ contributions, modelled by the scalar $K^*_0(800)$ or $κ$ meson. Initial and final state nuclear interactions are taken into account in eikonal approx…
We use a relativistic model of meson-exchange currents to compute the proton-neutron and proton-proton yields in $(e,e')$ scattering from $^{12}$C in the 2p-2h channel. We compute the response functions and cross section with the relativistic Fermi gas model for a range of kinematics from intermediate to high momentum transfers. We find a large contribution of neutron-proton configurations in the initial state, as compared to proton-proton pairs. The different emission probabilities of distinct species of nucleon pairs are produced in our model only by meson-exchange currents, mainly by the $Δ…
We propose a new method for the construction of a consistent meson exchange current in $r$-space for the spin-isospin dependent central and tensor part of phenomenological nucleon-nucleon potentials by using a Laplace transformation, which allows the representation by a finite number of Yukawa functions. This method is applied to the Paris and the recent Argonne $V_{18}$ potentials. Results are presented for electrodisintegration of the deuteron near threshold.
A covariant meson-exchange model of the anti-kaon nucleon interaction within the framework of the Bethe-Salpeter equation is presented. With just one free parameter we are able to get a good description of the available experimental data from below threshold to 300 MeV laboratory momentum.
In a recent paper by C. J. Horowitz (Phys. Rev. C {\bf 48}, 2920 (1993)) a heavy meson exchange is incorporated into threshold NN --> d pi to enhance the grossly underestimated cross section. However, that calculation uses an unjustified assumption on the initial and final momenta, which causes an overestimate of this effect by a factor of 3--4. I point out that the inclusion of the Delta(1232) isobar increases the cross section significantly even at threshold.
Two-particle two-hole contributions to electromagnetic response functions are computed in a fully relativistic Fermi gas model. All one-pion exchange diagrams that contribute to the scattering amplitude in perturbation theory are considered, including terms for pionic correlations and meson-exchange currents (MEC). The pionic correlation terms diverge in an infinite system and thus are regularized by modification of the nucleon propagator in the medium to take into account the finite size of the nucleus. The pionic correlation contributions are found to be of the same order of magnitude as the…
We obtain the RPA summed one-meson exchange potential between nucleons in symmetric nuclear matter at zero temperature, from a model which includes $ρ$, $σ$, $ω$ and $π$ mesons. The behavior of rho mesons inside the medium is first discussed using different schemes to extract a finite contribution from the vacuum polarization. These schemes give qualitatively different results for the in-medium rho mass. The results are discussed in connection with the non-renormalizability of the model. We next study the modified potential as density increases. In the intermediate distance range, it is qualit…
Nucleon recoil polarization observables in $(e,e'\vec{p})$ reactions are investigated using a semi-relativistic distorted-wave model which includes one- and two-body currents with relativistic corrections. Results for the induced polarization asymmetry are shown for closed-shell nuclei and a comparison with available experimental data for $^{12}$C is provided. A careful analysis of meson exchange currents shows that they may affect significantly the induced polarization for high missing momentum.
Nonmesonic decays of $Λ$ in nuclear medium and light hypernuclei are studied by using the $ΛN \to NN$ weak transition potential derived from the meson exchange mechanism and the direct quark mechanism. The long range part of the transition potential is described by exchanges of the pseudoscalar mesons ($π$, $K$, $η$), while the vector mesons ($ρ$, $ω$, $K^\ast$) may be considered as the medium- and short-range part in the meson exchange picture. We propose the direct quark transition potential as the short range part, which is derived from the matrix elements of the $ΔS=1$ effective weak Hamil…
The structure of the weak axial pion exchange current is discussed in various models. It is shown how the interplay of the chiral invariance and the double counting problem restricts uniquely the form of the pion potential term, in the case when the nuclear dynamics is described by the Schroedinger equation with the static nucleon-nucleon potential.
We show that, within a meson-exchange dynamical model describing well most of the existing pion electromagnetic production data up to the second resonance region, one is also able to obtain a good agreement with the pi^0 photo- and electroproduction data near threshold. In the case of pi^0 production, the effects of final state interaction in the threshold region are nearly saturated by single charge exchange rescattering. This indicates that in ChPT, it might be sufficient to carry out the calculation just up to one-loop diagrams for threshold neutral pion production.
Starting from the axial heavy meson exchange currents, constructed earlier in conjunction with the Bethe--Salpeter equation, we first present the axial $ρ$--, $ω$-- and $a_1$ meson exchange Feynman amplitudes that satisfy the partial conservation of the axial current. Employing these amplitudes, we derive the corresponding weak axial heavy meson exchange currents in the leading order in the 1/M expansion ($M$ is the nucleon mass), suitable for the nuclear physics calculations beyond the threshold energies and with wave functions obtained by solving the Schrödinger equation with one--boson exch…
The non-relativistic approximation of the quark-meson-coupling model has been discussed and compared with the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock model which includes spin exchanges. Calculations show that the spin-exchange interaction has important effect on the descriptions of finite nuclei and nuclear matter through the Fock exchange. Also in the quark-meson-coupling model, it is the Fock exchange that leads to a nonlinear density-dependent isovector channel and changes the density-dependent behavior of the symmetry energy.
With the advent of high precision proton accelerators, such as COSY in Jülich, or with medium energy accelerators like RCNP at Osaka, it may become possible to perform a direct study of the strangeness changing hadronic $np \to Λp$ process. In this work we study this reaction using a one-meson-exchange weak potential and realistic $NN$ and $YN$ strong interactions to distort both the initial $np$ and the final $Λp$ states. The calculated cross sections are very sensitive to the different mesons included in the weak transition, as well as to the strong $YN$ interaction model that generates the …
Decays of $Λ$ in nuclei, nonmesonic mode, are studied by using the $ΛN \to NN$ weak transition potential derived from the meson exchange mechanism and the direct quark mechanism. The decay rates are calculated both for the $Λ$ in symmetric nuclear matter and light hypernuclei. We consider the exchange of six mesons ($π, K, η, ρ, ω, K^\ast$). The form factor in the meson exchange mechanism and short range correlation are carefully studied.
An analysis of the effects of meson exchange and isobar currents in exclusive (e,e'p) processes from O-16 under quasi-free kinematics is presented. A model that has probed its feasibility for inclusive quasi-elastic (e,e') processes is considered. Sensitivity to final state interactions between the outgoing proton and the residual nucleus is discussed by comparing the results obtained with phenomenological optical potentials and a continuum nuclear shell-model calculation. The contribution of the meson-exchange and isobar currents to the response functions is evaluated and compared to previous…
We apply the point form of relativistic quantum mechanics to develop a Poincare invariant coupled-channel formalism for two-particle systems interacting via one-particle exchange. This approach takes the exchange particle explicitly into account and leads to a generalized eigenvalue equation for the Bakamjian-Thomas type mass operator of the system. The coupling of the exchange particle is derived from quantum field theory. As an illustrative example we consider vector mesons within the chiral constituent quark model in which the hyperfine interaction between the confined quark-antiquark pair …
The partial wave projection of the Nijmegen soft-core potential model for Meson-Pair-Exchange (MPE) for NN-scattering in momentum space is presented. Here, nucleon-nucleon momentum space MPE-potentials are NN-interactions where either one or both nucleons contains a meson-pair vertex. Dynamically, the meson-pair vertices can be viewed as describing in an effective way (part of) the effects of heavy-meson exchange and meson-nucleon resonances. From the point of view of ``duality,'' these two kinds of contribution are roughly equivalent. Part of the MPE-vertices can be found in the chiral-invari…
One-nucleon emission processes induced by photon absorption are studied by considering short-range correlations effects. At energies above the giant resonance region the validity of the direct knock-out model has been tested by comparison with continuum Random Phase Approximation results. Nucleon re-scattering effects have been considered by using an optical potential. The role of the electromagnetic convection, magnetization and meson exchange currents has been investigated as a function of both excitation energy and momentum transfer. The short-range correlation effects have been studied by …
In a series of two papers we present the theoretical results of $πN$/meson-baryon scattering in the Kadyshevsky formalism. In this paper the results are given for meson exchange diagrams. On the formal side we show, by means of an example, how general couplings, i.e. couplings containing multiple derivatives and/or higher spin fields, should be treated. We do this by introducing and applying the Takahashi-Umezawa and the Gross-Jackiw method. For practical purposes we introduce the $\bar{P}$ method. We also show how the Takashashi-Umezawa method can be derived using the theory of Bogoliubov and…
We have calculated the total cross section for k^+-4^He, 16^O, 40^Ca, intes at incident momenta of the kaon P_lab<1GeV . We derived the K^+-nucleon optical potential according to the exchange of 3- mesons (segma, roh, omega) and also for 4- (segma, roh, omega, segma_0) exchanged between the reactants. We showed both of the radial behavior of the real and the imaginary parts of the derived potential. Comparisons between the available experimental data, other theoretical work and the calculated total cross sections for the three studied nuclei which have shown a reasonable agreement. The extended fo…
Using the local flavor SU(4) gauge invariance in the limit of vanishing vector meson masses, we extend our previous study of charm meson scattering cross sections by pion and rho meson, which is based only on the pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar-vector meson couplings, to include also contributions from the couplings among three vector mesons and among four particles. We find that diagrams with light meson exchanges usually dominate the cross sections. For the processes considered previously, the additional interactions lead only to diagrams involving charm meson exchanges and contact interactions, a…
