Meson exchange contributions have been suggested as one class of medium effects which might explain the continuing discrepancy between experimental results and theoretical predictions for K+-nucleus scattering. These exchange effects are negligible for near-forward K+-deuteron scattering because of the large size of the deuteron, but at large angles they might be expected to be significant compared to the weak double scattering. Detailed calculations, however, show that the quadrupole and magnetic contributions from single scattering are large enough to dominate both double scattering and exchange contributions even at large momentum transfers. The exchange contributions become significant only if the target deuteron is highly aligned so that the single scattering contributions are greatly reduced.
Parity-nonconserving two-body currents due to vector meson exchange are considered with the aim to determine the related contributions to the anapole moment. A particular attention is given to the requirement of current conservation which is essential for a reliable estimate of this quantity. An application is made for the deuteron case.
For coherent photoproduction of phi and omega mesons from deuteron at forward angles, the isovector pi-exchange amplitude is strongly suppressed. We show a possibility to study the non-diffractive channels associated with the unnatural parity exchange in phi-photoproduction and with the baryon resonance excitations in omega-photoproduction by measuring the spin observables.
The existing experimental data for the deuteron charge radius are discussed. The data of elastic electron scattering are inconsistent with the value obtained in a recent atomic physics experiment. Theoretical predictions based on a nonrelativistic description of the deuteron with realistic nucleon-nucleon potentials and with a rather complete set of meson-exchange contributions to the charge operator are presented. Corrections arising from the quark-gluon substructure of the nucleon are explored in a nonrelativistic quark model; the quark-gluon corrections, not accounted for by meson exchange,…
The effect of meson retardation in $NN$-interaction and exchange currents on deuteron electrodisintegration is studied in a coupled channel approach including $NN$-, $N Δ$- and $πd$-channels. It is shown that the influence of retardation depends on the energy regime: Whereas below $π$-threshold calculations with static and retarded operators yield almost identical results, they differ significantly in the $Δ$-region. Especially, the longitudinal and the longitudinal-transverse interference structure functions are strongly affected.
Photodisintegration of the deuteron above pi-threshold is studied in a coupled channel approach including N Delta- and pi d-channels with pion retardation in potentials and exchange currents. A much improved description of total and differential cross sections in the energy region between pi-threshold and 400-450 MeV is achieved.
We study high-momentum distributions and short-range correlation probabilities in the deuteron with a variety of modern potentials based on chiral effective field theory up to fifth order in the chiral expansion. We also consider some conventional (meson-exchange and phenomenological) interactions. We examine our predictions in the context of short-range correlation probabilities as extracted from analyses of inclusive electron scattering data and discuss whether modern interac- tions can be reconciled with the latter.
P-odd correlations in the deuteron photodesintegration are considered. The $π$-meson exchange is not operative in the case of unpolarized deuterons. For polarized deuterons a P-odd correlation due to the $π$-meson exchange is about $3 \times 10^{-9}$. Short-distance P-odd contributions exceed essentially than the contribution of the $π$-meson exchange.
Incoherent photoproduction of the $η$-meson on the deuteron is studied for photon energies from threshold to 800 MeV. The dominant contribution, the $γ$N-$η$N amplitude, is described within an isobar model. The final state interaction derived from the CD-Bonn potential is included and found to be important for the description of the production cross section close to threshold. Possible effects from the $ηN$ final state interaction are discussed.
Relativistic effects and the role of heavy meson exchange in deuteron photodisintegration are studied systematically for photon energies below the pion production threshold. In a (p/M)-expansion, all leading order relativistic one-body and pi-exchange as well as all static heavy meson exchange currents consistent with the Bonn OBEPQ model are included. In addition, one- and two-body boost effects have been investigated. Sizeable effects from the various two-body contributions beyond pi-exchange have been found in almost every observable considered, i.e., differential cross section and single p…
Neutral kaon photoproduction off the nucleon and deuteron has been reinvestigated by utilizing the new experimental data on both targets. An isobar model for elementary operator and impulse approximation for the reaction on the deuteron have been used. The available free parameters in the elementary model have been extracted from both elementary and deuteron data. In contrast to the elementary reaction, fitting the deuteron data requires an inclusion of weighting factor. The result indicates that the angular distribution of the elementary $K^0Λ$ process does not show backward peaking behavior.
The general form of the cross section as well as the polarizations of electron-deuteron elastic scattering are given. Two-photon exchange effects are analyzed. Possible signatures of the two-photon exchange effects in the electron-deuteron elastic scattering are discussed.
Photodisintegration of the deuteron above $π$ threshold is studied in a coupled channel approach including $N Δ$ and $πd$ channels with consideration of pion retardation in potentials and exchange currents. A much improved description of total and differential cross sections in the energy region between $π$ threshold and 400-450 MeV is achieved. With respect to polarization observables, the description of the linear photon asymmetry and the proton polarization remains problematic.
The corrections of two-photon exchange on deuteron electromagnetic form factors are estimated based on an effective Lagrangian approach. Numerical results for the form factors $G_{C,M,Q}$ of the deuteron with the corrections are compared to its empirical ones. Moreover, the two new form factors, due to the two-photon exchange, are analyzed. Possible way to test the two-photon exchange corrections to the deuteron form factors is discussed.
We present a unitary and gauge-invariant model with coupled channels, which provides a consistent description of pion photoproduction off nucleons in the E$_{0+}$ channel and eta-meson photoproduction off protons and deuterons. An effective field theory with hadrons and photons is constructed, which includes non-resonant Born terms as well as the S$_{11}$(1535) and S$_{11}$(1650) baryon resonances. Due to the coupling between the channels, the production of eta-mesons is strongly affected by the S$_{11}$(1650) although its direct coupling to the $η$N channel is negligible. The rho- and omega-m…
An analysis of incoherent photoproduction of $η$ mesons off the deuteron for photon energies from threshold to 800 MeV is presented. The dominant contribution, the $γ$N-$η$N amplitude, is described within an isobar model. Effects of the final state interactions in the $NN$ as well as the $ηN$ systems are included employing models derived within the meson-exchange approach. It is found that their consideration is important. Specifically, due to an interference effect the influence of the $ηN$ final state interaction is enhanced in the reaction $γd \to np η$ close to threshold.
In this paper we discuss coherent photo- and leptoproduction of vector mesons from deuterons at intermediate (virtual) photon energies, 3 < nu < 30 GeV. We consider the scattering from unpolarized and polarized targets as well as processes where the polarization of the recoil deuteron is measured. Our main motivation results from the need for a quantitative analysis of the space-time structure of photon-induced processes. In this respect we suggest several possibilities to explore the characteristic longitudinal interaction length in coherent vector meson production. Furthermore, we outline me…
We discuss coherent and incoherent $ϕ$ meson photoproduction off the deuteron at low energy and small momentum transfer with the aim to check whether the recent experimental data need for their interpretation the inclusion of exotic channels. Our analysis of the differential cross section and spin-density matrix elements shows that the existing data may be understood on the base of conventional dynamics. For a firm conclusion about a possible manifestation of exotic channels one has to improve the resolution of the data with providing additional information on channels with spin- and double-sp…
The advantages to study charge--symmetry breaking and especially the phenomenon of f0-a0 mixing in nucleon--nucleon and deuteron--deuteron induced reactions are discussed.
The $P$ and $T$ odd deuteron multipoles are calculated in the Reid nucleon-nucleon potential in the chiral limit $m_π\to 0$. The contact current generated by the $π$-meson exchange does not contribute to the anapole moment. The contact current generated by the vector meson exchange is negligible in comparison with other contributions of vector mesons. The result for the deuteron electric dipole moment is of great interest because of the experiment on its measurement discussed in Brookhaven. The deuteron photodisintegration cross section asymmetry at the threshold is also calculated. It is show…
Corrections of two-photon exchange to proton and neutron electromagnetic form factors are employed to study the effect of two-photon exchange on the deuteron electromagnetic form factors. Numerical results of the effect are given. It is suggested to test the effect in the measurement of $P_z$ in a small angle limit.
Very recent data for the reaction gamma{d} --> eta{np} are analyzed within a model that includes contributions from the impulse approximation and next order corrections due to the np and eta{N} interactions in the final state. Comparison between the calculations and data indicate sizable contributions from the np and eta{N} final state interactions close to threshold.
Incoherent $η$ photoproduction on the deuteron is studied with the main emphasis on the role of final state interactions. In addition to the previously studied mechanisms of $NN$ and $ηN$ rescatterings, the role of an intermediate pion exchange is considered in detail, where first a pion is photoproduced on one nucleon and then rescatters into an $η$ meson on the other, the spectator nucleon. It is found, that the role of this pion mediated contribution is comparable in size to that of $ηN$ rescattering. Results for total and semi-inclusive differential cross sections and associated polarizati…
The present status of the theoretical description of electromagnetic reactions on the deuteron above pion threshold is reviewed. Three major topics are considered: (i) retardation effects in $π$-meson exchange contributions to $NN$-interaction and meson exchange currents in deuteron photodisintegration above $π$-threshold in the $Δ$-resonance region, (ii) off-shell effects in the one-body current treated in a simple pion cloud model in deuteron photodisintegration in and above the $Δ$-resonance region, and (iii) final state interaction effects in photoproduction of $π$ and $η$ mesons on the de…
The importance of three-body dynamics in the $ηnp$ system in elastic and inelastic $η$-deuteron scattering as well as coherent and incoherent $η$ photoproduction on the deuteron in the energy region from threshold up to 30 MeV above has been investigated. It is shown that a restriction to first order rescattering with respect to the $NN$- and $ηN$-final state interactions, i.e., restriction to rescattering in the two-body subsystems, does not give a sufficiently accurate approximation to the s-wave reaction amplitude and that higher order terms, as described by the three-body dynamics give ver…
Starting from the axial heavy meson exchange currents, constructed earlier in conjunction with the Bethe--Salpeter equation, we first present the axial $ρ$--, $ω$-- and $a_1$ meson exchange Feynman amplitudes that satisfy the partial conservation of the axial current. Employing these amplitudes, we derive the corresponding weak axial heavy meson exchange currents in the leading order in the 1/M expansion ($M$ is the nucleon mass), suitable for the nuclear physics calculations beyond the threshold energies and with wave functions obtained by solving the Schrödinger equation with one--boson exch…
The elastic backward proton-deuteron scattering is analyzed within a covariant approach based on the Bethe-Salpeter equation with realistic meson-exchange interaction. Contributions of the one-nucleon and one-pion exchange mechanisms to the cross section and polarization observables are investigated in explicit form. Results of numerical calculations for the cross section, tensor analyzing power and spin transfers are presented. The one-pion exchange contribution is essential for describing the spin averaged cross section, while in polarization observables it is found to be less important.
Incoherent photoproduction of eta-mesons on the deuteron is considered. The main attention is paid to the region above the S11(1535) resonance where rather narrow resonance like structure in the total cross section extracted for gamma n -> eta n has been reported. The corresponding experimental results are analyzed from the phenomenological standpoint within the model containing a baryon P11 with the mass about 1670 MeV and a width less than 30 MeV. This resonance was suggested in some recent works as a nonstrange member of the pentaquark antidecuplet with J^P=1/2^+. The calculation is also pe…
The target tensor analyzing powers of the process $γd -> π^{-}pp$ had been studied in the plane wave impulse approximation, if both ejected protons are detected in coincidence and in the directions, symmetrical respect to the incoming photon momentum, being in the proton plane. The matrix elements of the studied reaction become essentially simple, if the magnitudes of the proton momenta p1 = p2 = p are equal. That proton kinematics keeps the ejected pion angle near zero, therefore the one body pion production operator does not include the spin-non-flip term. Moreover, the transition to the tri…
The photoproduction of $π^0$-mesons from the nucleon and deuteron has been studied for incidents of photon energies up to 1.5 GeV. By using the MAID-2007 model for the process on the nucleon, we predict results for the unpolarized and helicity-dependent total cross sections of the semi-exclusive reaction $γd\rightarrowπ^0X$ ($X=np+d$) with the inclusion of rescattering effects. We find that rescattering effects yield a substantially large contribution. The extracted results are compared with the available experimental data and a satisfactory agreement is obtained. In addition, the contribution…
We analyze the deuteron bound state through the One Pion Exchange Potential. We pay attention to the short distance peculiar singularity structure of the bound state wave functions in coordinate space and the elimination of short distance ambiguities by selecting the regular solution at the origin. We determine the so far elusive amplitude of the converging exponential solutions at the origin. All bound state deuteron properties can then be uniquely deduced from the deuteron binding energy, the pion-nucleon coupling constant and pion mass. This generates correlations among deuteron properties.…
The deuteron form factors are calculated in the framework of the relativistic nucleon-meson dynamics. The relativistic effects change considerably the S- and D-waves of the deuteron, result in the dominating extra component in the deuteron wave function and generate the contact interaction between the nucleon, mesons and photon. The prediction for the polarization observable $t_{20}$ is in good agreement with the recent data of TJNAF/CEBAF.
We investigate exchange current contributions to elastic electron-deuteron scattering using exactly Poincaré invariant quantum mechanics with a null-plane kinematic symmetry. Our model exchange current is motivated by one-pion-exchange physics. Exact current conservation and current covariance are satisfied by using this current to compute a linearly independent set of current matrix elements. The remaining current matrix elements are generated from the independent matrix elements using the covariance and current conservation constraints. The presence of the exchange current increases the sens…
It is shown that the amplitude of elastic ed scattering beyond Born approximation contains six generalized form factors, but only three linearly independent combinations of them (generalized charge, quadrupole and magnetic form factors) contribute to the reaction cross section in the second order perturbation theory. We examine two-photon exchange and find that it includes two types of diagrams, when two virtual photons interact with the same nucleon and when the photons interact with different nucleons. We discuss contribution of the two-photon exchange in reaction observables, generalized \ma…
The charge-exchange reaction pd->npp at 1 GeV projectile proton energy is studied in the multiple-scattering expansion technique. This reaction is considered in a special kinematics, when the transfer momentum from the beam proton to fast neutron is close to zero. The differential cross section and a set of polarization observables are calculated. It was shown that contribution of the final state interaction between two protons is very significant.
The relation between the differential cross section of the charge-exchange breakup of a fast deuteron d+p -> (pp)+n and the differential cross section of the charge transfer process n+p -> p+n is discussed taking into account the effects of the proton identity and of the Coulomb and strong interactions of protons in the final state. The distribution of the relative momenta of the protons is found in the framework of the impulse approach. It is shown that the use of polarized initial deuterons and protons allows one to separate two spin-dependent terms in the amplitude of the charge transfer re…
A nuclear model is proposed where the nucleons interact by emitting and absorbing mesons, and where the mesons are treated explicitly. A nucleus in this model finds itself in a quantum superposition of states with different number of mesons. Transitions between these states hold the nucleus together. The model---in its simplest incarnation---is applied to the deuteron, where the latter becomes a superposition of a neutron-proton state and a neutron-proton-meson state. Coupling between these states leads to an effective attraction between the nucleons and results in a bound state with negative …
The influence of relativistic contributions to elastic electron deuteron scattering is studied systematically at low and intermediate momentum transfers ($Q^2\leq 30$ fm$^{-2}$). In a $(p/M)$-expansion, all leading order relativistic $π$-exchange contributions consistent with the Bonn OBEPQ models are included. In addition, static heavy meson exchange currents including boost terms and lowest order $ρπγ$-currents are considered. Sizeable effects from the various relativistic two-body contributions, mainly from $π$-exchange, have been found in form factors, structure functions and the tensor po…
Photo-production of $η$-mesons and their collisions with light nuclei are studied within the Alt-Grassberger-Sandhas (AGS) formalism for different parameters of $ηN$ interaction. A three-body resonance or a quasi-bound state is found close to the $ηd$ threshold. Expected manifestation of this resonant behavior of $ηd$ elastic scattering in various processes involving $ηd$-system in their final states was found in calculations of the $γd \to ηd$ reaction in the framework of modified AGS equations. These calculations revealed peaks in the energy dependence of the total cross-section almost at th…
We investigate the symptoms of broken rotational invariance, caused by the use of light front dynamics, for deuterons obtained using one- and two-pion-exchange potentials. A large mass splitting between states with m=0 and m=1 is found for the deuteron obtained from the one-pion-exchange (OPE) potential. The size of the splitting is smaller when the chiral two-pion-exchange (TPE) potential is used. When the TPE potential constructed without chiral symmetry is used, the deuteron becomes unbound. These results arise from significant relativistic effects which are much larger than those of the Wi…
Using the LAMP model for nuclear quark structure, we calculate the binding energy and quark structure of a $B$ meson merging with a $D$ meson. The larger-than-nucleon masses of the two heavy quarks allow for a more reliable application of the Born-Oppenheimer-like approximation of the LAMP. With the absence of quark-level Pauli Exclusion Principle repulsive effects, the appearance of a bound state is unsurprising. Our variational calculation shows that the molecular, deuteron-like state structure changes rather abruptly, as the separation between the two mesons decreases, at a separation of ab…
We discuss the elastic ed scattering beyond Born approximation. It is shown that the reaction amplitude contains six generalized form factors, but only three linearly independent combinations of them (we call them generalized charge, quadrupole and magnetic form factors) contribute to the reaction cross section in the second order perturbation theory. We examine two-photon exchange and find that it includes two types of diagrams, when two virtual photons interact with the same nucleon and when the photons interact with different nucleons. Estimations based on nonrelativistic calculations with …
The off-shell aspects of the one-pion-exchange potential (OPEP) are discussed. Relativistic Hamiltonians containing relativistic kinetic energy, relativistic OPEP with various off-shell behaviors and Argonne $v_{18}$ short-range parameterization are used to study the deuteron properties. The OPEP off-shell behaviors depend on whether a pseudovector or pseudoscalar pion-nucleon coupling is used and are characterized by a parameter $μ$. We study potentials having $μ$=-1, 0 and +1 and we find that they are nearly unitarily equivalent. We also find that a nonrelativistic Hamiltonian containing loc…
The nucleon-deuteron radiative capture process is investigated using the chiral nuclear potentials and the electromagnetic currents developed by the Bochum-Bonn group. While the strong interaction is taken up to the next-to-next-to-leading order, the electromagnetic current consists of a single nucleon current, the leading one-pion exchange one and is supplemented by contributions from the long-range two-pion exchange current at next-to-leading-order. The theoretical predictions for the cross sections as well as analyzing powers show strong dependence on the values of regularization parameters…
The renormalization of the chiral np interaction with Delta-excitations in intermediate states is considered at next-to-leading order (NLO) and next-to-next-to-leading order (N2LO) for central waves. The inclusion of the Delta-excitation as an explicit degree of freedom improves the convergence properties of the effective field theory results for np scattering with respect to Delta-less theory, and allows the existence of a deuteron bound state in the infinite cut-off limit. The 1S_0 singlet and 3S_1 triplet phase shifts reproduce data for p ~ m_pi. The role of spectral function regularization…
We study deeply virtual Compton scattering and deep exclusive meson electroproduction on a deuteron target. We model the Generalized Quark Distributions in the deuteron by using the impulse approximation for the lowest Fock-space state on the light-cone. We study the properties of the resulting GPDs, and verify that sum rules violations are quite small in the impulse approximation. Numerical predictions are given for the unpolarized cross sections and polarization asymmetries for the kinematical regimes relevant for JLab experiments and for HERMES at HERA. We conclude that the signal of cohere…
Using a three-dimensional formalism that includes relativistic kinematics, the effects of negative-energy states, approximate boosts of the two-body system, and current conservation we calculate the electromagnetic form factors of the deuteron up to $Q^2=6$ GeV$^2$. This is done both in impulse approximation and with a $ρπγ$ meson-exchange current included. The experimentally-measured quantities $A$, $B$, and $T_{20}$ are calculated over the kinematic range probed in recent Jefferson Laboratory experiments. The meson-exchange current provides significant strength in $A$ at large $Q^2$, but has…
Relativistic nuclear response theory is formulated for the proton-neutron pairing, or deuteron transfer, channel. The approach is based on the meson-nucleon Lagrangian of Quantum Hadrodynamics (QHD) and advances the relativistic field theory to connect consistently the high-energy scale of heavy mesons, the medium-energy range of the pion and the low-energy domain of emergent collective vibrations (phonons) in a parameter-free way. Mesons and phonons build up the in-medium nucleon-nucleon interaction in spin-isospin transfer channels, in particular, the phonon-exchange part takes care of the l…
Coherent $η$-meson photoproduction on the deuteron has been studied, where the emphasis is on the relative importance of two-body contributions from hadronic rescattering and electromagnetic meson exchange currents besides the impulse approximation. For the elementary photoproduction amplitude a coupled resonance model developed by Bennhold and Tanabe has been used which fits reasonably well the experimental data. The rescattering effects are treated within a coupled channel approach considering the intermediate excitation of the $P_{11}(1440)$, $D_{13}(1520)$, and $S_{11}(1535)$ nucleon reson…
pd capture processes at various energies have been analyzed based on solutions of 3N-Faddeev equations and using modern NN forces. The application of the Siegert theorem is compared to the explicit use of $π$- and $ρ$-like exchange currents connected to the AV18 NN interaction. Overall good agreement with cross sections and spin observables has been obtained but leaving room for improvement in some cases. Feasibility studies for 3NF's consistently included in the 3N continuum and the 3N bound state have been performed as well.
Mechanisms of the charge exchange reaction $dp\to \{pp\}_{\!s} Nπ$, where $\{pp\}_{\!s}$ is a two-proton system at low excitation energy, are studied at beam energies 1 -- 2 GeV and for invariant masses $M_X$ of the final $Nπ$ system that correspond to the formation of the $Δ(1232)$ isobar. The direct mechanism, where the initial proton is excited into the $Δ(1232)$, dominates and explains the existing data on the unpolarized differential cross section and spherical tensor analyzing power $T_{22}$ for $M_X> 1.2$ GeV/$c^2$. However, this model fails to describe $T_{20}.
An explicit evaluation of the spin asymmetry of the deuteron and the associated GDH sum rule is presented which includes photodisintegration, single and double pion and eta production as well. Photodisintegration is treated with a realistic retarded potential and a corresponding meson exchange current. For single pion and eta production the elementary operator from MAID is employed whereas for double pion production an effective Lagrangean approach is used. A large cancellation between the disintegration and the meson production channels yields for the explicit GDH integral a value of 27.31 $μ…
We evaluate the deuteron charge, quadrupole, and magnetic form factors using wave functions obtained from chiral effective theory ($χ$ET) when the potential includes one-pion exchange, chiral two-pion exchange, and genuine contact interactions. We study the manner in which the results for form factors behave as the regulator is removed from the $χ$ET calculation, and compare co-ordinate- and momentum-space approaches. We show that, for both the LO and NNLO chiral potential, results obtained by imposing boundary conditions in co-ordinate space at $r=0$ are equivalent to the $Λ\to \infty$ limit …
The parity-nonconserving asymmetry in the deuteron photodisintegration, $\vecγ+d\to n+p$, is considered with the photon energy ranged up to 10 MeV above the threshold. The aim is to improve upon a schematic estimate assuming the absence of tensor as well as spin-orbit forces in the nucleon-nucleon interaction. The major contributions are due to the vector-meson exchanges, and the strong suppression of the pion-exchange contribution is confirmed. A simple argument, going beyond the observation of an algebraic cancellation, is presented. Contributions of meson-exchange currents are also consider…
We analyze the renormalization of the NN interaction at low energies and the deuteron bound state through the Chiral Two Pion Exchange Potential assumed to be valid from zero to infinity. The short distance Van der Waals singularity structure of the potential as well as the requirement of orthogonality conditions on the wave functions determines that, after renormalization, in the 1S0 singlet channel and in the 3S1-3D1 triplet channel one can use the deuteron binding energy, the asymptotic D/S ratio and the S-wave scattering lengths as well as the chiral potential parameters as independent var…
General expressions for the unpolarized differential cross section and for various polarization observables in the coherent pseudoscalar meson photo- and electroproduction on the deuteron target have been obtained in one-photon-exchange approximation. The spin structure of the matrix element is explicitly derived in terms of structure functions. The correspondence with the helicity amplitudes is given. The polarization effects have been investigated for the case of a longitudinally polarized electron beam and vector or tensor polarized deuteron target. The polarization (vector or tensor) of th…
Analysis of the $nd\to p(nn)$ reaction in a GeV-energy region is performed in the framework based on the multiple-scattering theory for the few-nucleon system. The special kinematic condition, when momentum transfer from neutron beam to final proton closes to zero, is considered. The possibility to extract the spin-dependent term of the elementary $np\to pn $ amplitude from $nd$-breakup process is investigated. The energy dependence of the ratio $R=\frac{dσ_{nd}} {dΩ} / \frac{dσ_{np}}{dΩ}$ is obtained taking account of the final-state interaction of the two outgoing neutrons in $^1 S_0$-state.
The influence of relativistic contributions to deuteron electrodisintegration is systematically studied in various kinematic regions of energy and momentum transfer. As theoretical framework the equation-of-motion and the unitarily equivalent S-matrix approaches are used. In a (p/M)-expansion, all leading order relativistic $π$-exchange contributions consistent with the Bonn OBEPQ model are included. In addition, static heavy meson exchange currents including boost terms, $γπρ/ω$-currents, and $Δ$-isobar contributions are considered. Sizeable effects from the various relativistic two-body cont…
The integrated cross section $\widetildeσ$ for a special type of double polarized proton-deuteron scattering constitutes a null test forvtime-invariance violating but P-parity conserving effects. Using the Glauber theory for the $pd$ elastic scattering and different types of phenomenological T-odd P-even NN-interactions we show that the contribution of the lowest mass meson exchange, i.e. the $ρ$-meson, to the null-test signal $\widetildeσ$ vanishes. Variation of the cross section $\widetildeσ$ due to strong hadronic and Coulomb interaction is studied and its energy dependence is calculated in…
