We discuss coherent and incoherent $ϕ$ meson photoproduction off the deuteron at low energy and small momentum transfer with the aim to check whether the recent experimental data need for their interpretation the inclusion of exotic channels. Our analysis of the differential cross section and spin-density matrix elements shows that the existing data may be understood on the base of conventional dynamics. For a firm conclusion about a possible manifestation of exotic channels one has to improve the resolution of the data with providing additional information on channels with spin- and double-spin flip transitions being sensitive to the properties of the photoproduction amplitude in $γp$ and $γD$ reactions.
For coherent photoproduction of phi and omega mesons from deuteron at forward angles, the isovector pi-exchange amplitude is strongly suppressed. We show a possibility to study the non-diffractive channels associated with the unnatural parity exchange in phi-photoproduction and with the baryon resonance excitations in omega-photoproduction by measuring the spin observables.
The Lorentz Integral Transform method (LIT) is extended to pion photoproduction in the $Δ$-resonance region. The main focus lies on the solution of the conceptual difficulties which arise if energy dependent operators for nucleon resonance excitations are considered. In order to demonstrate the applicability of our approach, we calculate the inclusive cross section for $π^0$-photoproduction off the deuteron within a simple pure resonance model.
A general analysis of polarization observables for the $d(γ,π)NN$ reaction with polarized photons and/or oriented deuterons is presented. The unpolarized differential cross section, linear photon asymmetry, vector and tensor target asymmetries are predicted for forthcoming experiments.
The effects of final state interaction in incoherent $η$ photoproduction on deuteron are studied within a three-body approach including a realistic $NN$ potential. The results are compared with available data, and differences with other theoretical predictions are analyzed. The role of the $ηN$ interaction and the possibility of extracting the $ηN$ scattering parameters from this reaction are discussed.
Formal expressions are developed for the general five-fold differential cross section of incoherent $π$-photoproduction on the deuteron including beam and target polarization. The polarization observables of the cross section are described by various beam, target and beam-target asymmetries for polarized photons and/or polarized deuterons. They are given as bilinear hermitean forms in the reaction matrix elements divided by the unpolarized cross section. In addition, the corresponding observables for the semi-exclusive reaction $\vec d(\vec γ,π)NN$ are also given.
Incoherent photoproduction of pions on the deuteron in the Delta(1232) resonance region is studied, where besides the impulse approximation complete two-body rescattering in the nucleon-nucleon and pion-nucleon final state subsystems is included.
The photoproduction of a neutral pion on the deuteron is considered in the energy region around the eta threshold, where a bump-like structure was observed at very backward pion angles. Different dynamical aspects which may be responsible for this phenomenon are analysed within a theoretical frame which includes intermediate eta-NN configurations. The results show in particular, that a three-body treatment of the eta-NN interaction is of special importance.
Rescattering effects in coherent eta photoproduction on the deuteron are studied in the region of the S_11(1535) resonance. For the elementary reaction mechanism on the nucleon, an effective isobar model with inclusion of resonances and Born terms is used. The resonance parameters are fixed by considering pion photoproduction only. For the coherent eta production on the deuteron we have considered the impulse approximation taking into account the P_11(1440), D_13(1520), and S_11(1535) resonances, rescattering, and meson exchange currents. For the rescattering mechanism a coupled channel model …
We present a Regge-inspired effective-Lagrangian framework for kaon photoproduction from the deuteron. Quasi-free kaon production is investigated using the Regge-plus-resonance (RPR) elementary operator within the relativistic plane-wave impulse approximation. The RPR model was developed to describe photoinduced and electroinduced charged-kaon production off protons. We show how this elementary operator can be transformed in order to account for the production of neutral kaons from both protons and neutrons. The model results for kaon photoproduction from the deuteron compare favourably to the…
Incoherent photoproduction of the $η$-meson on the deuteron is studied for photon energies from threshold to 800 MeV. The dominant contribution, the $γ$N-$η$N amplitude, is described within an isobar model. The final state interaction derived from the CD-Bonn potential is included and found to be important for the description of the production cross section close to threshold. Possible effects from the $ηN$ final state interaction are discussed.
Neutral kaon photoproduction off the nucleon and deuteron has been reinvestigated by utilizing the new experimental data on both targets. An isobar model for elementary operator and impulse approximation for the reaction on the deuteron have been used. The available free parameters in the elementary model have been extracted from both elementary and deuteron data. In contrast to the elementary reaction, fitting the deuteron data requires an inclusion of weighting factor. The result indicates that the angular distribution of the elementary $K^0Λ$ process does not show backward peaking behavior.
Incoherent $π^0$ photoproduction on a deuteron in the $Δ(1232)$ region is treated in a three-body scattering approach using separable two-body interactions. Results are presented for total and differential cross sections. It turns out that the role of higher order terms beyond the first order in the multiple scattering series is insignificant, and their inclusion cannot explain the existing discrepancy between theory and experiment.
Neutral kaon photoproduction on the deuteron has been investigated by including the final state effects and compared with the experimental data. Comparison shows that the models used in this calculation can reproduce the data in the $Σ$ channel regions fairly well but still give over predictions in the $Λ$ channel. It seems that the tensor target asymmetries are more suitable for studying the final state effects. The extractions of the elementary photoproduction amplitude are also demonstrated.
The influence of final state $NN$- and pi N-rescattering in incoherent pion photoproduction on the deuteron has been investigated. For the elementary photoproduction operator an effective Lagrangian model is used which describes well the elementary reaction. The interactions in the final two-body subsystems are taken in separable form. While NN-rescattering shows quite a significant effect, particularly strong for neutral pion production, pi N-rescattering is almost negligible. Inclusion of such effects leads to an improved and quite satisfactory agreement with experiment.
Spin observables for the three charge states of the pion for the pion photoproduction reaction on the deuteron, $γd\toπNN$, with polarized photon beam and/or oriented deuteron target are predicted. For the beam-target double-spin asymmetries, it is found that only the longitudinal asymmetries $T_{20}^{\ell}$ and $T_{2\pm 2}^{\ell}$ do not vanish, whereas all the circular and the other longitudinal asymmetries do vanish. The sensitivity of spin observables to the model deuteron wave function is investigated. It has been found that only $T_{21}$ and $T_{22}$ are sensitive to the model deuteron w…
Inclusive $K^+$ and exclusive $K^+Y$ photoproduction on the deuteron are investigated theoretically. Modern hyperon-nucleon forces and a recently updated kaon photoproduction operator for the $γ+N\to K^++Y$ process are used. Sizable effects of the hyperon-nucleon final state interaction are found near the $K^+ΛN$ and $K^+ΣN$ thresholds in the inclusive reaction. Angular distributions for the exclusive process show clear $YN$ final state interaction effects in certain kinematic regions. Precise data especially for the inclusive process around the $K^+ΣN$ threshold would help to clarify the stre…
The impact of the short-range $NΔ$ interaction on the pion photoproduction processes off the deuteron in the $Δ$-resonance region is studied in the framework of recently proposed dressed-bag model. A common dressing procedure for bare three- and six-quark states is used to describe both the pion decay widths of baryon resonances and the effective $NN$ (or $NΔ$) interaction at short ranges related to the inner dressed-bag states. It is shown that the effect of short-range $NΔ$ interaction for the forward-angle $π^\mathrm{o}$ photoproduction off the deuteron cannot be neglected. The prospects fo…
Coherent eta photoproduction on the deuteron is studied in the $S_{11}$ resonance region neglecting eta rescattering and two-body processes. For the elementary reaction on the nucleon, we have considered the dominant $S_{11}(1535)$ resonance and as background the nucleon pole terms as well as $ρ$ and $ω$ meson exchange. We have studied the influence of different choices for the neutron resonance amplitude, different prescriptions for fixing the invariant mass of the resonance amplitude and different methods for deriving the elementary production amplitude for an arbitrary reference frame.
Incoherent $η$-photoproduction on the deuteron is studied for photon energies from threshold up to 720 MeV. The elementary $γN \to ηN$ amplitude is constructed in the frame of a conventional isobar model. Effects of final state interaction are investigated and their role in the cross section as well as in polarization observables is found to be important. Inclusion of such effects leads to a satisfactory agreement with experimental data in the near threshold region. In addition, recent experimental results on the coherent reaction $d(γ,η)d$ are discussed.
Photoproduction of two pions on nucleon and deuteron is studied for photon energies from threshold up to $E_γ= 1.5$ GeV. For the elementary operator an effective Lagrangean approach is used with resonance and Born contributions. The model parameters are fixed by resonance decay widths and multipole analyses of single pion photoproduction. A satisfactory description of total cross sections of two-pion production on the proton for various charge channels is achieved, except for $π^0π^0$ production for which a significant underestimation is found near threshold. The operator then serves for the e…
Deuteron Compton scattering below pion photoproduction threshold is considered in the framework of the non-relativistic diagrammatic approach with the Bonn OBE potential. The complete gauge-invariant set of diagrams is taken into account which includes resonance diagrams without and with rescattering and diagrams with one- and two-body seagulls. The obtained results are compared with predictions of other models and with experimental data. A possibility of determining isospin-averaged electromagnetic polarizabilities of the nucleon is discussed.
Photo production of pions on the deuteron is studied in the spectator nucleon model. The Born terms of the elementary production amplitude are determined in pseudovector $π$N coupling and supplied with a form factor. The $Δ$ resonance is considered both in the $s$ and the $u$ channel. The parameters of the $Δ$ resonance and the cutoff of the form factors are fixed on the leading photoproduction multipoles. Results for total and differential cross sections are compared with experimental data. Particular attention is paid to the role of Pauli correlations of the final state nucleons in the quasi…
We present a unitary and gauge-invariant model with coupled channels, which provides a consistent description of pion photoproduction off nucleons in the E$_{0+}$ channel and eta-meson photoproduction off protons and deuterons. An effective field theory with hadrons and photons is constructed, which includes non-resonant Born terms as well as the S$_{11}$(1535) and S$_{11}$(1650) baryon resonances. Due to the coupling between the channels, the production of eta-mesons is strongly affected by the S$_{11}$(1650) although its direct coupling to the $η$N channel is negligible. The rho- and omega-m…
An analysis of incoherent photoproduction of $η$ mesons off the deuteron for photon energies from threshold to 800 MeV is presented. The dominant contribution, the $γ$N-$η$N amplitude, is described within an isobar model. Effects of the final state interactions in the $NN$ as well as the $ηN$ systems are included employing models derived within the meson-exchange approach. It is found that their consideration is important. Specifically, due to an interference effect the influence of the $ηN$ final state interaction is enhanced in the reaction $γd \to np η$ close to threshold.
Within a dynamical model, rescattering effects are studied in coherent pion photoproduction on the deuteron in the $Δ$(1232) resonance region. The model consists of a system of coupled equations for the N$Δ$, NN$π$ and NN channels. Pion rescattering leads in general to a significant reduction of total and differential cross sections resulting in a better description of experimental data. Only a few polarization observables are sensitive to rescattering effects. In particular $T_{20}$ allows an analysis of the reaction mechanism for specific kinematics. The question how rescattering affects the…
Kaon photoproduction on the deuteron is studied with respect to a specific two-body contribution, namely a pion mediated production process, besides other final state interaction contributions from kaon-nucleon and hyperon-nucleon scattering. In this process, a pion is first photoproduced on one nucleon and then interacts with the spectator nucleon in a strangeness exchange reaction leading to a kaon and a hyperon. A sizeable effect from this pion mediated contribution is found, considerably larger than the previously studied hyperon-nucleon rescattering, whereas kaon-nucleon rescattering is m…
We present a Regge-inspired effective-Lagrangian framework for neutral-kaon photoproduction from the deuteron. Quasi-free kaon production is investigated using the Regge-plus-resonance elementary operator within the relativistic plane-wave impulse approximation. The Regge-plus-resonance model was developed to describe photoinduced and electroinduced charged-kaon production off protons. We show how this elementary operator can be transformed to account for the production of neutral kaons from both protons and neutrons. Our results compare favourably to the sole 2H(gamma,K0)YN dataset published …
The importance of three-body dynamics in the $ηnp$ system in elastic and inelastic $η$-deuteron scattering as well as coherent and incoherent $η$ photoproduction on the deuteron in the energy region from threshold up to 30 MeV above has been investigated. It is shown that a restriction to first order rescattering with respect to the $NN$- and $ηN$-final state interactions, i.e., restriction to rescattering in the two-body subsystems, does not give a sufficiently accurate approximation to the s-wave reaction amplitude and that higher order terms, as described by the three-body dynamics give ver…
Very recent data for the reaction gamma{d} --> eta{np} are analyzed within a model that includes contributions from the impulse approximation and next order corrections due to the np and eta{N} interactions in the final state. Comparison between the calculations and data indicate sizable contributions from the np and eta{N} final state interactions close to threshold.
We analyze the reaction gamma + d --> K^+ + Lambda (Sigma) + N using the Nijmegen soft core hyperon-nucleon interactions NSC97f and NSC89 and a recently updated production operator for the gamma + N --> K^+ + Lambda(Sigma) processes. Significant effects of the YN final state interaction are found near both the K^+ Lambda N and K^+ Sigma N thresholds.
The contribution of the two-step process gamma + d -> p + n -> pi0 + d to the imaginary part of the amplitude for coherent pion production on the deuteron is calculated exploiting unitarity constraints. The result shows that this absorptive process is not negligible and has to be considered in an extraction of the elementary neutron production amplitude from the gamma + d -> pi0 + d cross section at threshold. In addition, it is argued that a consistent calculation of gamma + d -> pi0 + d in baryon chiral perturbation theory beyond next-to-leading order requires the inclusion of this absorptiv…
Very recent data for the reaction gamma+d ->eta np, namely total cross sections, angular and momentum spectra, are analyzed within a model that includes contributions from the impulse approximation and next order corrections due to the np and eta-N interactions in the final state. Comparison between the calculations and the new data indicate sizable contributions from the np and eta-N final state interactions. Some systematic discrepancies between the calculations and the data are also found.
We analyze an effect of the coherent $Θ^+Λ(1520)$ photoproduction in $γD$ interaction near the threshold. We demonstrate that the coherence effect becomes manifest in a comparison of the $nK^+$ invariant mass distribution when the $pK^-$ invariant equals the $Λ(1520)$ mass. Our model calculations indicate a sizeable contribution of resonant and non-resonant background processes in the $γD\to np K^+K^-$ reaction which generally exceed the contribution of the coherent resonant channel. However, we find that the coherent $Θ^+Λ(1520)$ photoproduction is enhanced relative to the background processe…
Deuteron Compton scattering below pion photoproduction threshold is considered in the framework of the nonrelativistic diagrammatic approach with the Bonn OBE potential. A complete gauge-invariant set of diagrams is taken into account which includes resonance diagrams without and with NN-rescattering and diagrams with one- and two-body seagulls. The seagull operators are analyzed in detail, and their relations with free- and bound-nucleon polarizabilities is discussed. It is found that both dipole and higher-order polarizabilities of the nucleon are needed for a quantitative description of rec…
Incoherent pion photoproduction on the deuteron is studied for photon energies from threshold up to 1 GeV with special emphasis on polarization observables. The elementary $γN\toπN$ amplitude is taken from the MAID model. The influence of final state interactions on total and semi-exclusive cross sections $\vec d(\vecγ,π)NN$ is investigated by including complete rescattering in the final $NN$- and $πN$-subsystems. For charged pion-production the influence of $NN$-rescattering is moderate whereas $πN$-rescattering is almost negligible. Much stronger influences of $NN$-rescattering are seen in n…
Incoherent photoproduction of eta-mesons on the deuteron is considered. The main attention is paid to the region above the S11(1535) resonance where rather narrow resonance like structure in the total cross section extracted for gamma n -> eta n has been reported. The corresponding experimental results are analyzed from the phenomenological standpoint within the model containing a baryon P11 with the mass about 1670 MeV and a width less than 30 MeV. This resonance was suggested in some recent works as a nonstrange member of the pentaquark antidecuplet with J^P=1/2^+. The calculation is also pe…
The photoproduction of $π^0$-mesons from the nucleon and deuteron has been studied for incidents of photon energies up to 1.5 GeV. By using the MAID-2007 model for the process on the nucleon, we predict results for the unpolarized and helicity-dependent total cross sections of the semi-exclusive reaction $γd\rightarrowπ^0X$ ($X=np+d$) with the inclusion of rescattering effects. We find that rescattering effects yield a substantially large contribution. The extracted results are compared with the available experimental data and a satisfactory agreement is obtained. In addition, the contribution…
We study coherent and incoherent phi-meson photoproduction from nuclei. The available data are analyzed in terms of single and coupled channel photoproduction. It is found that the data on coherent photoproduction can be well reproduced within a single channel optical model and show only little room for omega-phi mixing. These data indicate a normal distortion of the phi-meson in nuclei, which is compatible with the results obtained through the vector meson dominance model. The data on incoherent phi-meson photoproduction show an anomalous A-dependence resulting in a very strong phi-meson dist…
Incoherent pion photoproduction on the deuteron is studied in the first resonance region. The unpolarized cross section, the beam asymmetry, and the vector and tensor target asymmetries are calculated in the framework of a diagrammatic approach. Pole diagrams and one-loop diagrams with $NN$ scattering in the final state are taken into account. An elementary operator for pion photoproduction on the nucleon is taken in various on-shell forms and calculated using the SAID and MAID multipole analyses. Model dependence of the obtained results is discussed in some detail. A comparison with predictio…
The target tensor analyzing powers of the process $γd -> π^{-}pp$ had been studied in the plane wave impulse approximation, if both ejected protons are detected in coincidence and in the directions, symmetrical respect to the incoming photon momentum, being in the proton plane. The matrix elements of the studied reaction become essentially simple, if the magnitudes of the proton momenta p1 = p2 = p are equal. That proton kinematics keeps the ejected pion angle near zero, therefore the one body pion production operator does not include the spin-non-flip term. Moreover, the transition to the tri…
Final state hyperon-nucleon interaction in strangeness photoproduction of the deuteron is investigated making use of the covariant reaction formalism and the P-matrix approach to the YN system. Remarkably simple analytical expression for the amplitude is obtained. Pronounced effects due to final state interaction are predicted including the manifestation of the 2.13 GeV resonance.
We present a Regge-inspired effective-Lagrangian framework for charged-kaon photoproduction from the deuteron. Quasi-free kaon production is investigated using the Regge-plus-resonance elementary operator within the non-relativistic plane-wave impulse approximation. The Regge-plus-resonance model was developed to describe photoinduced and electroinduced kaon production off protons and can be extended to strangeness production off neutrons. The non-resonant contributions to the amplitude are modelled in terms of K+(494) and K*+(892) Regge-trajectory exchange in the t-channel. This amplitude is …
A three-body calculation of the reaction $γd\toηnp$ in the energy region from threshold up to 30 MeV above has been performed. The primary goal of this study is to assess the importance of the three-body aspects in the hadronic sector of this reaction. Results are presented for the $η$-meson spectrum as well as for the total cross section. The three-body results differ significantly from those predicted by a simple rescattering model in which only first-order $ηN$- and $NN$-interactions in the final state are considered. The major features of the experimental data are well reproduced although …
We investigate the sensitivity of the cross section for lepton pair production off a deuteron target, $γd \to l^+ l^- d$, to the deuteron charge radius. We show that for small momentum transfers the Bethe-Heitler process dominates, and that it is sensitive to the charge radius such that a cross section ratio measurement of about $0.1 \%$ relative accuracy could give a deuteron charge radius more accurate that the current electron scattering value and sufficiently accurate to distinguish between the electronic and muonic atomic values.
The helicity dependence of the inclusive $π^-$ photoproduction reaction from the deuteron in the $Δ$(1232)-resonance region is investigated with inclusion of final-state nucleon-nucleon rescattering ($NN$-FSI). For the elementary $π$-production operator an effective Lagrangian model which includes the standard pseudovector Born terms and a contribution from the $Δ$-resonance is used. The half-off-shell $NN$-scattering matrix is obtained from a separable representation of a realistic $NN$-interaction. The differential polarized cross-section difference for parallel and antiparallel helicity sta…
Kaon photoproduction on the deuteron is investigated by considering YN and KN rescattering and the two-step process gamma d --> pi NN --> KYN. A strong enhancement in the total cross section is found from the two-step process. YN rescattering has remarkable effects in the inclusive and exclusive cross section, while the effect of KN rescattering is much less important.
Coherent $η$-meson photoproduction on the deuteron has been studied, where the emphasis is on the relative importance of two-body contributions from hadronic rescattering and electromagnetic meson exchange currents besides the impulse approximation. For the elementary photoproduction amplitude a coupled resonance model developed by Bennhold and Tanabe has been used which fits reasonably well the experimental data. The rescattering effects are treated within a coupled channel approach considering the intermediate excitation of the $P_{11}(1440)$, $D_{13}(1520)$, and $S_{11}(1535)$ nucleon reson…
We study the photoproduction of phi mesons in deuteron, paying attention to the modification of the cross section from bound protons to the free ones with the aim of comparing with recent results at LEPS. For this purpose we take into account Fermi motion in single scattering and rescattering of the phi to account for phi absorption on a second nucleon as well as the rescattering of the proton. We find that the contribution of the double scattering is much smaller than the typical cross section of gamma p to phi p in free space, which implies a very small screening of the phi production in deu…
We propose an experimental procedure to find out the medium modifications of the $ϕ$ meson. The reaction is inclusive $ϕ$ photoproduction in nuclei, looking for $K^+ K^-$ pairs from the $ϕ$ decay with total momentum smaller than 100-150 $MeV/c$, which are made possible at energies of present laboratories from center of mass $ϕ$ backward production and the help of Fermi motion. We have conducted a many body calculation of the mass distribution of the $ϕ$ adapted to the experimental set up of a recent JLAB experiment where the backwards $ϕ$ photoproduction has been measured. Using recent results…
A distinct isotopic effect in phi photoproduction at 2-5 GeV region is identified by examining the production amplitudes due to Pomeron-exchange and meson-exchange mechanisms. This effect is mainly caused by the pi-eta interference constrained by SU(3) symmetry and the isotopic structure of the gamma NN coupling in the direct phi-radiation amplitude. It can be tested experimentally by measuring differences in the polarization observables between the gamma-p and gamma-n reactions.
Photo-production of $η$-mesons and their collisions with light nuclei are studied within the Alt-Grassberger-Sandhas (AGS) formalism for different parameters of $ηN$ interaction. A three-body resonance or a quasi-bound state is found close to the $ηd$ threshold. Expected manifestation of this resonant behavior of $ηd$ elastic scattering in various processes involving $ηd$-system in their final states was found in calculations of the $γd \to ηd$ reaction in the framework of modified AGS equations. These calculations revealed peaks in the energy dependence of the total cross-section almost at th…
The photoproduction of K0 on the deuteron has been investigated with the inclusion of YN and KN final-state interaction (FSI), as well as the pion-mediated process gamma d --> pi NN --> KYN. The YN rescattering effects for the inclusive cross section are found to be large in the threshold regions. Polarization observables show sizable FSI effects at larger kaon and hyperon angles. It is shown that the extraction of the elementary gamma N --> KY amplitude is possible in the quasi-free scattering region where FSI effects are negligible. Furthermore, the cross sections in this region are large, i…
Incoherent photoproduction of pions on the deuteron in the Delta(1232) resonance region is investigated in order to study the influence of final state NN and PiN rescattering. For the elementary production operator an effective Lagrangian model is used which describes well the elementary reaction. The interactions in the final two-body subsystems are taken in separable form. We found that the influence of rescattering effects on total and differential cross sections is significant. Inclusion of such effects leads to an improved and quite satisfactory agreement with experiment. Since several ex…
Photoproduction of the pentaquark particle Theta^+ on the nucleon has been studied by using an isobar and a Regge model. Using the isobar model, total cross sections around 100 nb for the gamma n --> K- Theta+ channel and 400 nb for the gamma p --> {\bar K}0 Theta+ process are obtained. The inclusion of the K* intermediate state yields a substantially large effect, especially in the gamma p --> {\bar K}0 Theta+ process. The Regge approach predicts smaller cross sections, i.e., less than 100 nb (20 nb) for the process on the neutron (proton). By using an elementary operator from the isobar mode…
The diffractive $ϕ$-meson photoproduction amplitude is dominated by the Pomeron exchange process and contains the terms that govern the spin-spin and spin-orbital interactions. We show that these terms are responsible for the spin-flip transitions at forward photoproduction angles and appear in the angular distributions of $ϕ\to K^+K^-$ -decay in reactions with unpolarized and polarized photon beams. At large momentum transfers, the main contribution to the $ϕ$-meson photoproduction is found to be due to the excitation of nucleon resonances. Combined analysis of $ω$ and $ϕ$ photoproduction ind…
Single and double polarization observables for kaon photoproduction on the deuteron are studied theoretically with modern hyperon-nucleon forces. The kinematical region of the kaon scattered forward with large momentum is thoroughly investigated where either the quasifree scattering leading to the kaon and hyperon or the final-state interaction between hyperon and nucleon are expected. The quasifree scatterings show characteristic peaks in the inclusive cross sections. The final-state interaction effects are significant, especially around the Lambda-N and Sigma-N thresholds. The double polariz…
The role of final state interaction in $η$ photoproduction on a deuteron as well as on three-body nuclei is investigated within few-body scattering theory. Deviation of the theory from the available experimental results is briefly discussed.
