In this paper, by using the Composition-Diamond lemma for non-associative algebras invented by A. I. Shirshov in 1962, we give Gröbner-Shirshov bases for free Pre-Lie algebras and the universal enveloping non-associative algebra of an Akivis algebra, respectively. As applications, we show I.P. Shestakov's result that any Akivis algebra is linear and D. Segal's result that the set of all good words in $X^{**}$ forms a linear basis of the free Pre-Lie algebra $PLie(X)$ generated by the set $X$. For completeness, we give the details of the proof of Shirshov's Composition-Diamond lemma for non-associative algebras.
In this paper we define Akivis superalgebra and study enveloping superalgebras for this class of algebras, proving an analogous of the PBW Theorem. Lie and Malcev superalgebras are examples of Akivis superalgebras. For these particular superalgebras, we describe the connection between the classical enveloping superalgebras and the corresponding generalized concept defined in this work.
In this paper some characterizations of Hom-Leibniz superalgebras are given and some of their basic properties are found. These properties can be seen as a generalization of corresponding well-known properties of Hom-Leibniz algebras. Considering the Hom-Akivis superalgebra associated to a given Hom-Leibniz superalgebra, it is observed that the Hom-super Akivis identity leads to an additional property of Hom-Leibniz superalgebras, which in turn gives a necessary and sufficient condition for Hom-super Lie admissibility of Hom-Leibniz superalgebras. We show also that every (left) Hom-Leibniz sup…
Some basic properties of Hom-Leibniz algebras are found. These properties are the Hom-analogue of corresponding well-known properties of Leibniz algebras. Considering the Hom-Akivis algebra associated to a given Hom-Leibniz algebra, it is observed that the Hom-Akivis identity leads to an additional property of Hom-Leibniz algebras, which in turn gives a necessary and sufficient condition for Hom-Lie admissibility of Hom-Leibniz algebras. A necessary and sufficient condition for Hom-power associativity of Hom-Leibniz algebras is also found.
The aim of this note is to completely determine the second homology group of the special queer Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{sq}_n(R)$ coordinatized by a unital associative superalgebra $R$, which will be achieved via an isomorphism between the special linear Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{sl}_{n}(R\otimes Q_1)$ and the special queer Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{sq}_n(R)$.
In this paper I try to construct the Anick's resolution for the Temperley-Lieb algebra $TL_3$ and bar homology $Tor_\ast^{TL_3}(\mathbb{C},\mathbb{C})$ and shows that how $τ\in \mathbb{C}$ given in the definition of $TL_3$ is actively involved in the differentials both in free resolution and bar homology. It suggests that the bar homology depends on the nature of $τ$.
The aim of this paper is to present remarkable classes of Lie-admissible algebras containing in particular the associative algebras, the Vinberg algebras and pre-Lie algebras. We determine the associated quadratic operads and their dual operads.
We compare by a very elementary approach the second adjoint and trivial Leibniz cohomology spaces of a Lie algebra to the usual ones. Examples are given of coupled cocycles. Some properties are deduced as to Leibniz deformations. We also consider the class of Lie algebras for which the Koszul 3-form is zero, and prove that it contains all quotients of Borel subalgebras, or of their nilradicals, of finite dimensional semisimple Lie algebras. Finally, a list of Kac-Moody types for indecomposable nilpotent Lie algebras of dimension $\leqslant 7$ is given.
We study the coadjoint orbits of a Lie algebra in terms of Cartan class. In fact, the tangent space to a coadjoint orbit $\mathcal{O}(α)$ at the point $α$ corresponds to the characteristic space associated to the left invariant form;$α$ and its dimension is the even part of the Cartan class of $α$. We apply this remark to determine Lie algebras such that all the nontrivial orbits (nonreduced to a point) have the same dimension, in particular when this dimension is 2 or 4. We determine also the Lie algebras of dimension $2n$ or $2n+1$ having an orbit of dimension $2n$.
In this paper, first we construct a Lie 2-algebra associated to every Leibniz algebra via the skew-symmetrization. Furthermore, we introduce the notion of the naive representation for a Leibniz algebra in order to realize the abstract operations as a concrete linear operation. At last, we study some properties of naive cohomologies.
In this article we present some probably unexpected (in our opinion) properties of representations of Yang-Mills algebras. We first show that any free Lie algebra with m generators is a quotient of the Yang-Mills algebra ym(n) on n generators, for n greater than or equal to 2m. We derive from this that any semisimple Lie algebra, and even any affine Kac-Moody algebra is a quotient of ym(n), for n greater than or equal to 4. Combining this with previous results on representations of Yang-Mills algebras given in an article by the author together with A. Solotar, one may obtain solutions to the Y…
Representations of the Schlessinger-Stasheff's associative homotopy Lie algebras in the spaces of higher-order differential operators are analyzed; in particular, a remarkable identity for the Wronskian determinants is obtained. The W-transformations of chiral embeddings, related with the Toda equations, of complex curves into the Kaehler manifolds are shown to be endowed with the homotopy Lie algebra structures. Extensions of the Wronskian determinants that preserve the properties of the Schlessinger-Stasheff's algebras are constructed for the case of $n\geq1$ independent variables.
A Lie-admissible algebra gives by anticommutativity a Lie algebra. In this work we study remarkable classes of Lie-admissible algebras such as Vinberg, PreLie algebras. We compute the corresponding binary quadratic operads and study their Koszul duality. Considering Lie algebras as Lie-admissible algebras we can define for each Lie algebra a cohomology with values in a Lie-admissible module. This permits to study some deformations of Lie algebras in the category of Lie-admissible algebras. Lastly we study the tensor product between these operads and their dual operads. As application we constr…
In this paper we identify the structure of complex finite-dimensional Leibniz algebras with associated Lie algebras $sl_2^1\oplus sl_2^2\oplus \dots \oplus sl_2^s\oplus R,$ where $R$ is a solvable radical. The classifications of such Leibniz algebras in the cases $dim R=2, 3$ and $dim I\neq 3$ have been obtained. Moreover, we classify Leibniz algebras with $L/I\cong sl_2^1\oplus sl_2^2$ and some conditions on ideal $I=id<[x,x] \ | \ x\in L>.$
From the Levi's Theorem it is known that every finite dimensional Lie algebra over a field of characteristic zero is decomposed into semidirect sum of solvable radical and semisimple subalgebra. Moreover, semisimple part is the direct sum of simple ideals. In \cite{Bar} the Levi's theorem is extended to the case of Leibniz algebras. In the present paper we investigate the semisimple Leibniz algebras and we show that the splitting theorem for semisimple Leibniz algebras is not true. Moreover, we consider some special classes of the semisimple Leibniz algebras and find a condition under which th…
That finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras over the complex numbers can be classified by means of purely combinatorial and geometric objects such as Coxeter-Dynkin diagrams and indecomposable irreducible root systems, is arguably one of the most elegant results in mathematics. The definition of the root system is done by fixing a Cartan subalgebra of the given Lie algebra. The remarkable fact is that (up to isomorphism) this construction is independent of the choice of the Cartan subalgebra. The modern way of establishing this fact is by showing that all Cartan subalgebras are conjugate. For …
We remark some basic facts on homological aspects of involutive Lie bialgebras and their involutive bimodules, and present some problems on surface topology related to these facts.
The concept of Automorphic Lie Algebras arises in the context of reduction groups introduced in the early 1980s in the field of integrable systems. Automorphic Lie Algebras are obtained by imposing a discrete group symmetry on a current algebra of Krichever-Novikov type. Past work shows remarkable uniformity between algebras associated to different reduction groups. For example, if the base Lie algebra is $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})$ and the poles of the Automorphic Lie Algebra are restricted to an exceptional orbit of the symmetry group, changing the reduction group does not affect the Lie a…
We introduce and start investigating the properties of countably infinite, periodic chains of finite dimensional generalizations of the exceptional Lie algebras: each exceptional Lie algebra (but $\mathbf{g}_{2}$) is part of an infinite family of finite dimensional algebras, which we name "Magic Star" algebras. These algebras have remarkable similarities with many characterizing features of the exceptional Lie algebras.
