Let X be a regular irreducible variety in CP^{n-1}, Y the associated homogeneous variety in C^n, and N the restriction of the universal bundle of CP^{n-1} to X. In the present paper, we compute the obstructions to solving the d-bar-equation in the L^p-sense on Y for 1<=p<=\infty in terms of cohomology groups H^q(X,O(N^m)). That allows to identify obstructions explicitly if X is specified more precisely, for example if it is equivalent to CP^1 or an elliptic curve.
We prove the existence of normal forms for some local real-analytic Levi-flat hypersurfaces with an isolated line singularity. We also give sufficient conditions for that a Levi-flat hypersurface with a complex line as singularity to be a pullback of a real-analytic curve in C via a holomorphic function.
We show that the topological equivalence class of holomorphic foliation germs with an isolated singularity of Poincaré type is determined by the topological equivalence class of the real intersection foliation of the (suitably normalized) foliation germ with a sphere centered in the singularity. We use this Reconstruction Theorem to completely classify topological equivalence classes of plane holomorphic foliation germs of Poincaré type and discuss a conjecture on the classification in dimension $\geq 3$.
We study multi-parameters deformations of isolated singularity function-germs on either a subanalytic set or a complex analytic spaces. We prove that if such a deformation has no coalescing of singular points, then it has constant topological type. This extends some classical results due to Lê \& Ramanujam (1976) and Parusiński (1999), as well as a recent result due to Jesus-Almeida and the first author. It also provides a sufficient condition for a one-parameter family of complex isolated singularity surfaces in $\C^3$ to have constant topological type. On the other hand, for complex isolated…
We consider a holomorphic 1-form $ω$ with an isolated zero on an isolated complete intersection singularity $(V,0)$. We construct quadratic forms on an algebra of functions and on a module of differential forms associated to the pair $(V,ω)$. They generalize the Eisenbud-Levine-Khimshiashvili quadratic form defined for a smooth $V$.
We solve the Dirichlet Problem of Monge-Ampère equation near an isolate Klt singularity, which generalizes the result of Eyssidieux-Guedj-Zeriahi \cite{EGZ}, where the Monge-Ampère equation is solved on singular varieties without boundary. As a corollary, we construct solutions to Monge-Ampère equation with isolated singularity on strongly pseudoconvex domain $Ω$ contained in $\mathbb{C}^n$.
We establish a Lehto--Virtanen-type theorem and a rescaling principle for an isolated essential singularity of a holomorphic curve in a complex space, which are useful for establishing a big Picard-type theorem and a big Brody-type one for holomorphic curves.
The asymptotic behavior of conformal metrics with negative curvatures near an isolated singularity for at most second order derivatives was described by Kraus and Roth in one of their papers in 2008. Our work improves one estimate of theirs and shows the estimate for higher order derivatives near an isolated singularity by means of potential theory. We also give some limits of Minda-type for SK-metrics near the origin. Combining these limits with the Ahlfors' lemma, we provide some observations SK-metrics.
A classical result of singularity theory states that the spectrum of an isolated hypersurface singularity is symmetric with respect to $n/2$, where $n$ is the dimension of the enclosing space. We prove a similar result for the Jordan-Hölder composition series of the $(a,b)$-module associated to an isolated hypersurface singularity.
Let $\mathcal{F}$ be the germ at $\mathbf{0} \in \mathbb{C}^n$ of a holomorphic foliation of dimension $d$, $1 \leq d < n$, with an isolated singularity at $\mathbf{0}$. We study its geometry and topology using ideas that originate in the work of Thom concerning Morse theory for foliated manifolds. Given $\mathcal{F}$ and a real analytic function $g$ on $\mathbb{C}^n$ with a Morse critical point of index 0 at $\mathbf{0}$, we look at the corresponding polar variety $M= M(\mathcal{F},g)$. These are the points of contact of the two foliations, where $\mathcal{F}$ is tangent to the fibres of $g$.…
By the Mather-Yau theorem, a complex hypersurface germ $V$ with isolated singularity is completely determined by its moduli algebra $A(V)$. The proof of the theorem does not provide an explicit procedure for recovering $V$ from $A(V)$, and finding such a procedure is a long-standing open problem. In this paper, we present an explicit way for reconstructing $V$ from $A(V)$ up to biholomorphic equivalence under the assumption that the singularity of $V$ is homogeneous, in which case $A(V)$ coincides with the Milnor algebra of $V$.
Given a germ of an analytic variety $X$ and a germ of a holomorphic function $f$ with a stratified isolated singularity with respect to the logarithmic stratification of $X$, we show that under certain conditions on the singularity type of the pair $(f,X)$, the following relative analog of the well known K. Saito's theorem holds true: equality of the relative Milnor and Tjurina numbers of f with respect to X (also known as Bruce-Roberts numbers) is equivalent to the relative quasihomogeneity of the pair $(f,X)$, i.e. to the existence of a coordinate system such that both $f$ and $X$ are quasih…
For a lattice $Γ$ of a simply connected solvable Lie group $G$, we describe the analytic germ in the variety of representations of $Γ$ at the trivial representation as an analytic germ which is linearly embedded in the analytic germ associated with the nilpotent Lie algebra determined by $G$. By this description, under certain assumption, we study the singularity of the analytic germ in the variety of representations of $Γ$ at the trivial representation by using the Kuranishi space construction. By a similar technique, we also study deformations of holomorphic structures of trivial vector bund…
We treat the boundary problem for complex varieties (with isolated singularities) of dimension greater than one, which are contained in a suitable class of strictly pseudoconvex, unbounded domains of C^n.
J. Nitsche proved that an isolated singularity of a conformal hyperbolic metric is either a conical singularity or a cusp one. We prove by developing map that there exists a complex coordinate $z$ centered at the singularity where the metric has the expression of either $\displaystyle{\frac{4α^2\vert z \vert^{2α-2}}{(1-\vert z \vert ^{2α})^2}\vert \mathrm{d} z \vert^2}$ with $α>0$ or $\displaystyle{\vert z \vert ^{-2}\big(\ln|z|\big)^{-2}|dz|^{2}}$.
We collect some classical results about holomorphic 1-forms of a reduced complex curve singularity. They are used to study the pull-back of holomorphic 1-forms on an isolated complete intersection curve singularity under the normalization morphism. We wonder whether the Milnor number $μ$ and the Tjurina number $τ$ of any isolated plane curve singularity satisfy the inequality $3μ<4τ$.
We give a generalization of an algebraic formula of Gomez-Mont for the index of a vector field with isolated zero in (C^n,0) and tangent to an isolated hypersurface singularity. We only assume that the vector field has an isolated zero on the singularity.
Using his deep and beautiful idea of cutting with a Hyperplane, Lefschetz explained how the homology groups of a projective smooth variety could be constructed from basic pieces, that he called primitive homology. This idea can be applied every time we have a vector space with a biliner form (i.e. homology with cup product) and a $\pm$-symmetric nilpotent operator (i.e. cutting with a hyperplane). We will illustrate this in the context of Singularity Theory: A germ of an isolated singular point of a hypersurface defined by $f=0$. We begin with the algebraic setting in the Jacobian (or Milnor) …
We continue the development of the study of the equisingularity of isolated singularities, in the determinantal case. This version of the paper includes a substantial amount of new material (76% larger). The new material introduces the idea of the landscape of singularity, which includes the allowable deformations of the singularity and associated structure useful for equisingularity questions. Fixing a presentation matrix M of a determinantal singularity means viewing the singularity as a section via M of the set of matrices of a given or smaller rank. Varying M gives the allowable deformatio…
We show a lower estimate of the Milnor number of an isolated hypersurface singularity, via its Newton number. We also obtain analogous estimate of the Milnor number of an isolated singularity of a similar complete intersection variety.
We study rational curves on algebraic varieties, especially on normal affine varieties endowed with a $\C^*$-action. For varieties with an isolated singularity, we show that the presence of sufficiently many rational curves outside the singular point strongly affects the character of the singularity. This provides an explanation of classical results due to H.A. Schwartz and G.H. Halphen on polynomial solutions of the generalized Fermat equation.
We give an overview on the tt*-geometry defined for isolated hypersurface singularities and tame functions via Brieskorn lattices. We discuss nilpotent orbits in this context, as well as classifying spaces of Brieskorn lattices and (limits of) period maps.
