We study the cluster category of a canonical algebra A in terms of the hereditary category of coherent sheaves over the corresponding weighted projective line X. As an application we determine the automorphism group of the cluster category and show that the cluster-tilting objects form a cluster structure in the sense of Buan-Iyama-Reiten-Scott. The tilting graph of the sheaf category always coincides with the tilting or exchange graph of the cluster category. We show that this graph is connected if the Euler characteristic of X is non-negative, or equivalently, if A is of tame (domestic or tubular) representation type.
We describe an algorithm for computing the $p$-canonical basis of the Hecke algebra, or one of its antispherical modules. The algorithm does not operate in the Hecke category directly, but rather uses a faithful embedding of the Hecke category inside a semisimple category to build a "model" for indecomposable objects and bases of their morphism spaces. Inside this semisimple category, objects are sequences of Coxeter group elements, and morphisms are (sparse) matrices over a fraction field, making it quite amenable to computations. This strategy works for the full Hecke category over any base …
Let $\C$ be a finite projective EI category and $k$ be a field. The singularity category of the category algebra $k\C$ is a tensor triangulated category. We compute its spectrum in the sense of Balmer.
We give conditions on when a triangular matrix ring is Gorenstein of a given selfinjective dimension. We apply the result to the category algebra of a finite EI category. In particular, we prove that for a finite EI category, its category algebra is 1-Gorenstein if and only if the given category is free and projective.
We classify blocks of category $\mathcal{O}$ for rational Cherednik algebras and of cyclotomic Hecke algebras of type G(r,p,n) by using the "residue equivalence" for multi-partitions.
Let $A$ be a Nakayama algebra. We give a description of the singularity category of $A$ inside its stable module category. We prove that there is a duality between the singularity category of $A$ and the singularity category of its opposite algebra. As a consequence, the resolution quiver of $A$ and the resolution quiver of its opposite algebra have the same number of cycles and the same number of cyclic vertices.
We introduce a category of cluster algebras with fixed initial seeds. This category has countable coproducts, which can be constructed combinatorially, but no products. We characterise isomorphisms and monomorphisms in this category and provide combinatorial methods for constructing special classes of monomorphisms and epimorphisms. In the case of cluster algebras from surfaces, we describe interactions between this category and the geometry of the surfaces.
In this paper we propose a new approach to tilting modules for reductive algebraic groups in positive characteristic. We conjecture that translation functors give an action of the (diagrammatic) Hecke category of the affine Weyl group on the principal block. Our conjecture implies character formulas for the simple and tilting modules in terms of the p-canonical basis, as well as a description of the principal block as the anti-spherical quotient of the Hecke category. We prove our conjecture for GL_n using the theory of 2-Kac-Moody actions. Finally, we prove that the diagrammatic Hecke categor…
For a finite free and projective EI category, we prove that Gorenstein-projective modules over its category algebra are closed under the tensor product if and only if each morphism in the given category is a monomorphism.
Colored planar rook algebra is a semigroup algebra in which the basis element has a diagrammatic description. The category of finite dimensional modules over this algebra is completely reducible and suitable functors are defined on this category so that it admits a crystal structure in the sense of Kashiwara. We show that the category and functors categorify the crystal bases for the polynomial representations of quantized enveloping algebra $U_q(gl_{n+1})$.
Using the orbifold KZ connection we construct a functor from an affine parabolic category O of type A to the category O of a cyclotomic rational double affine Hecke algebra. We give several results concerning this functor.
For a finite free EI category, we construct an explicit module over its category algebra. If in addition the category is projective over the ground field, the constructed module is Gorenstein-projective and is a maximal Cohen-Macaulay approximation of the trivial module. We give conditions on when the trivial module is Gorenstein-projective.
Given a finite dimensional algebra $A$ over an algebraically closed field we study the relationship between the powers of the radical of a morphism in the module category of the algebra $A$ and the induced morphism in the module category of the endomorphism algebra of a tilting $A$-module. We compare the nilpotency indices of the radical of the mentioned module categories. We find an upper bound for the nilpotency index of the radical of the module category of iterated tilted algebras of Dynkin type.
The restricted category O at the critical level over an affine Kac-Moody algebra is a certain subcategory of the ordinary BGG-category O. We study a deformed version introduced by Arakawa and Fiebig and calculate the center of the deformed restricted category O.
We establish a link between the Gerstenhaber bracket in the Hochshild cohomology and the behaviour of cycles in the module category of a monomial quadratic algebra $A$.
In this paper we classify global dimensions of the category algebras of some finite categories, including finite truncations of the categories $FI$, $FI_G$, $FI_d$, $OI$, $OI_G$, $OI_d$ and $VI$
A Lie algebra is said to be generalised reductive if it is a direct sum of a semisimple Lie algebra and a commutative radical. In this paper we extend the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ over complex semisimple Lie algebras to the category $\mathcal {O'}$ over complex generalised reductive Lie algebras. Then we make a preliminary research on the highest weight modules and the projective modules in this new category $\mathcal {O'}$, and generalize some conclusions in the classical case. As a critical difference from the complex semisimple Lie algebra case, we prove that there is no projective module…
For symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebra $\textbf{g}$, Lusztig introduced the modified quantized enveloping algebra $\dot{\textbf{U}}(\textbf{g})$ and its canonical basis in [12]. In this paper, for finite and affine type symmetric Lie algebra $\textbf{g}$ we define a set which depend only on the root category and prove that there is a bijection between the set and the canonical basis of $\dot{\textbf{U}}(\textbf{g})$, where the root category is the $T^2$-orbit category of the derived category of Dynkin or tame quiver. Our method bases on one theorem of Lin, Xiao and Zhang in [9], which gave th…
Let C be a finite EI category and k be a field. We consider the category algebra kC. Suppose K(C)=D^b(kC-mod) is the bounded derived category of finitely generated left modules. This is a tensor triangulated category and we compute its spectrum in the sense of Balmer. When C=G*P is a finite transporter category, the category algebra becomes Gorenstein so we can define the stable module category \CM k(G*P), of maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules, as a quotient category of K(G*P). Since \CM k(G*P) is also tensor triangulated, we compute its spectrum as well. These spectra are used to classify tensor …
In this article we provide a simple combinatorial description of morphisms between indecomposable complexes in the bounded derived category of a gentle algebra.
We study the truncation functors and show the existence of projective cover of each irreducible module in parabolic BGG category $\mathcal O$ over infinite rank Lie algebra of types $\mathfrak{a,b,c,d}$. Moreover, $\mathcal O$ is a Koszul category. As a consequence, the corresponding parabolic BGG category $\overline{\mathcal O}$ over infinite rank Lie superalgebra of types $\mathfrak{a,b,c,d}$ through the super duality is also a Koszul category.
Let A be a finite-dimensional, self-injective algebra, graded in non-positive degree. We define A-dgstab, the differential graded stable category of A, to be the quotient of the bounded derived category of dg-modules by the thick subcategory of perfect dg-modules. We express A-dgstab as the triangulated hull of the orbit category A-grstab/$Ω$(1). This result allows computations in the dg-stable category to be performed by reducing to the graded stable category. We provide a sufficient condition for the orbit category to be equivalent to A-dgstab and show this condition is satisfied by Nakayama…
Koszul duality and covering theory are combined to realise the bounded derived category D of an algebra with radical square zero as a certain orbit category of the bounded derived category of finitely presented representations of an associated infinite quiver. As a consequence, the possible shapes of the connected components of the Auslander--Reiten quiver of D are described.
W-algebra (of finite type) W is a certain associative algebra associated with a semisimple Lie algebra, say g, and its nilpotent element, say e. The goal of this paper is to study the category O for W introduced by Brundan, Goodwin and Kleshchev. We establish an equivalence of this category with certain category of g-modules. In the case when e is of principal Levi type (this is always so when g is of type A) the category of g-modules in interest is the category of generalized Whittaker modules introduced McDowel and studied by Milicic-Soergel and Backelin.
For the cluster category of a hereditary or a canonical algebra, equivalently for the cluster category of the hereditary category of coherent sheaves on a weighted projective line, we study the Grothendieck group with respect to an admissible triangulated structure.
We study the canonical orbit category of the bounded derived category of finite dimensional representations of the quiver of type $D_{\infty}$. We prove that this orbit category is a cluster category, that is, its cluster-tilting subcategories form a cluster structure as defined in [\ref{BIRS}].
We study category $\mathcal{O}$ for Takiff Lie algebras $\mathfrak{g} \otimes \mathbb{C}[ε]/(ε^2)$ where $\mathfrak{g}$ is the Lie algebra of a reductive algebraic group over $\mathbb{C}$. We decompose this category as a direct sum of certain subcategories and use an analogue of parabolic induction functors and twisting functors for BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ to prove equivalences between these subcategories. We then use these equivalences to compute the composition multiplicities of the simple modules in the Verma modules in terms of composition multiplicities in the BGG category $\mathcal{O}…
We construct a faithful categorical representation of an infinite Temperley-Lieb algebra on the periplectic analogue of Deligne's category. We use the corresponding combinatorics to classify thick tensor ideals in this periplectic Deligne category. This allows to determine the objects in the kernel of the monoidal functor going to the module category of the periplectic Lie supergroup. We use this to classify indecomposable direct summands in the tensor powers of the natural representation, determine which are projective and determine their simple top.
EI categories can be thought of as amalgams of finite posets and finite groups and therefore the associated algebras are built up from incidence algebras and group algebras of finite groups. For this particular class of algebras we present a construction of an upper bound for the finitistic dimension which is due to Lueck.
We show that the weighted fusion category algebra of the principal 2-block $b_0$ of $\mathrm{GL}_2(q)$ is the quotient of the $q$-Schur algebra $\mathcal{S}_2(q)$ by its socle, for $q$ an odd prime power. As a consequence, we get a canonical bijection between the set of isomorphism classes of simple $k\mathrm{GL}_2(q)b_0$-modules and the set of conjugacy classes of $b_0$-weights in this case.
In this paper we describe the characters of irreducible objects in category O for the rational Cherednik algebra associated to GL_2(F_p) over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic p, for any value of the parameter t and generic value of the parameter c.
We classify the Auslander-Reiten components of the bounded derived category of Λ, where Λ is a cluster-tilted of type Ã. The main tool is the combinatoric description of the indecomposable complexes in the bounded homotopy category via homotopy strings and homotopy bands.
A duality theorem for the singularity category of a finite dimensional Gorenstein algebra is proved. It complements a duality on the category of perfect complexes, discovered by Happel. One of its consequences is an analogue of Serre duality, and the existence of Auslander-Reiten triangles for the $\mathfrak{p}$-local and $\mathfrak{p}$-torsion subcategories of the derived category, for each homogeneous prime ideal $\mathfrak{p}$ arising from the action of a commutative ring via Hochschild cohomology.
We introduce a category B of bounded modules for the toroidal Lie algebras and study irreducible modules in B. We show that one of the irreducible modules in this category, L(T_0), admits a structure of a vertex operator algebra. We prove that L(T_0) factors into a tensor product of a sub-VOA of a hyperbolic lattice VOA and a simple VOA associated with a twisted Virasoro-affine Lie algebra. Every irreducible module in category B is a VOA module for a slightly larger VOA V(T_0). Knowing the structure of V(T_0), we are able to give explicit realizations for all irreducible modules in category B …
Canonical algebras, introduced by C.M. Ringel in 1984, play an important role in the representation theory of finite dimensional algebras. They are equipped with a large contact surface to many further mathematical subjects like function theory, 3-manifolds, singularity theory, commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. We show in this paper that canonical algebras are characterized by a number of interesting extremal properties (among the class of endomorphism rings of tilting bundles on a weighted projective line). We also study the corresponding class of algebras antipodal to canonical one…
We prove that the center of each degenerate cyclotomic Hecke algebra associated to the complex reflection group of type B_d(l) consists of symmetric polynomials in its commuting generators. The classification of the blocks of the degenerate cyclotomic Hecke algebras is an easy consequence. We then deduce that the center of an integral block of parabolic category O for the Lie algebra gl_n(C) is generated by the center of its universal enveloping algebra.
To an artin algebra with radical square zero, a regular algebra in the sense of von Neumann and a family of invertible bimodules over the regular algebra are associated. These data describe completely, as a triangulated category, the singularity category of the artin algebra. A criterion on the Hom-finiteness of the singularity category is given in terms of the valued quiver of the artin algebra.
A category is called {\em split} if for every morphism $s\colon X\to Y$ there exists a morphism $t\colon Y\to X$ such that $s\circ t\circ s = s$. Let $C$ be a finite split category, let $k$ be a field of characteristic 0 and let $α$ be a 2-cocycle of $C$ with values in the unit group of $k$. Then the twisted category algebra $k_αC$ is a quasi-hereditary algebra.
In this paper, we study the category $\mathscr{H}^{(ρ)}$ of semi-stable coherent sheaves of a fixed slope $ρ$ over a weighted projective curve. This category has nice properties: it is a hereditary abelian finitary length category. We will define the Ringel-Hall algebra of $\mathscr{H}^{(ρ)}$ and relate it to generalized Kac-Moody Lie algebras. Finally we obtain the Kac type theorem to describe the indecomposable objects in this category, i.e. the indecomposable semi-stable sheaves.
In this article, gentle algebras are realised as tiling algebras, which are associated to partial triangulations of unpunctured surfaces with marked points on the boundary. This notion of tiling algebras generalise the notion of Jacobian algebras of triangulations of surfaces and the notion of surface algebras. We use this description to give a geometric model of the module category of any gentle algebra.
We introduce the periplectic $q$-Brauer category over an integral domain of characteristic not $2$. This is a strict monoidal supercategory and can be considered as a $q$-analogue of the periplectic Brauer category. We prove that the periplectic $q$-Brauer category admits a split triangular decomposition in the sense of Brundan-Stroppel. When the ground ring is an algebraically closed field, the category of locally finite dimensional right modules for the periplectic $q$-Brauer category is an upper finite fully stratified category in the sense of Brundan and Stroppel. We prove that periplectic…
We exploit singular equivalences between artin algebras, that are induced from certain functors between the stable module categories. Such functors are called pre-triangle equivalences. We construct two pre-triangle equivalences connecting the stable module category over a quadratic monomial algebra and the one over an algebra with radical square zero. Consequently, we obtain an explicit singular equivalence between the two algebras.
Lusztig defined an abelian category ${\mathscr{C}}_{k}$ of a class of representations of a multi-loop algebra and asked various questions connecting it to the modular representation theory of simple algebraic groups in char. p>0. The aim of this paper is to show that some of these questions have negative answer.
We construct an action of a braid group associated to a complete graph on the derived category of a certain symmetric Nakayama algebra which is also a Brauer star algebra with no exceptional vertex. We connect this action with the affine braid group action on Brauer star algebras defined by Schaps and Zakay-Illouz. We show that for Brauer star algebras with no exceptional vertex, the action is faithful.
In the paper is we generalize known descriptions of rings of semi-invariants for regular modules over Euclidean and canonical algebras to arbitrary concealed-canonical algebras.
In a perfect category every object has a minimal projective resolution. We give a criterion for the category of modules over a categorygraded algebra to be perfect.
We describe the derived Picard groups and two-term silting complexes for quasi-hereditary algebras with two simple modules. We also describe by quivers with relations all algebras derived equivalent to a quasi-hereditary algebra with two simple modules.
Curved A-infinity algebras appear in nature as deformations of dg algebras. We develop the basic theory of curved A-infinity algebras and, in particular, curved dg algebras. We investigate their link with a suitable class of dg coalgebras via the bar construction and produce Quillen model structures on their module categories. We define the analogue of the relative derived category for a curved dg algebra.
We give a full description of all the canonical algebras over an algebraically closed field that are derived equivalent to incidence algebras of finite posets. These are the canonical algebras whose number of weights is either 2 or 3.
We describe necessary and sufficient conditions for the hereditarity of the category algebra of an infinite EI category satisfying certain combinatorial assumptions. More generally, we discuss conditions such that the left global dimension of a category algebra equals the maximal left global dimension of the endomorphism algebras of its objects, and classify its projective modules in this case. As applications, we completely classify transporter categories, orbit categories, and Quillen categories with left hereditary category algebras over a field.
