We show that the Lieb-Liniger model for one-dimensional bosons with repulsive $δ$-function interaction can be rigorously derived via a scaling limit from a dilute three-dimensional Bose gas with arbitrary repulsive interaction potential of finite scattering length. For this purpose, we prove bounds on both the eigenvalues and corresponding eigenfunctions of three-dimensional bosons in strongly elongated traps and relate them to the corresponding quantities in the Lieb-Liniger model. In particular, if both the scattering length $a$ and the radius $r$ of the cylindrical trap go to zero, the Lieb-Liniger model with coupling constant $g \sim a/r^2$ is derived. Our bounds are uniform in $g$ in the whole parameter range $0\leq g\leq \infty$, and apply to the Hamiltonian for three-dimensional bosons in a spectral window of size $\sim r^{-2}$ above the ground state energy.
We study a matrix element of the field operator in the Lieb-Liniger model using the Bethe ansatz technique coupled with a functional approach to compute Slavnov determinants. We obtain the matrix element exactly in the thermodynamic limit for any coupling constant $c$, and compare our results to known semiclassics at the limit $c\to0.$
We derive explicit expressions for dynamical correlations of the field and density operators in the Lieb-Liniger model, within an arbitrary eigenstate with a small particle density ${\cal D}$. They are valid for all space and time and any interaction strength $c>0$, and are the leading order of an expansion in ${\cal D}$. This expansion is obtained by writing the correlation functions as sums over form factors when formally decomposed into partial fractions.
In the paper arXiv:2002.12065, the authors developed a new method to compute the exact overlap formulas between integrable boundary states and on-shell Bethe states in integrable spin chains. This method utilizes the coordinate Bethe ansatz representation of wave functions and singularity property of the off-shell overlaps. In this paper, we use this new method to derive the formula for overlaps between the Lieb-Liniger Bethe states and the Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) state. As a simple application this method, we obtained the overlaps between the Lieb-Liniger eigenstates and the free parti…
We consider the time evolution of local observables after an interaction quench in the repulsive Lieb-Liniger model. The system is initialized in the ground state for vanishing interaction and then time-evolved with the Lieb-Liniger Hamiltonian for large, finite interacting strength $c$. We employ the Quench Action approach to express the full time evolution of local observables in terms of sums over energy eigenstates and then derive the leading terms of a $1/c$ expansion for several one and two-point functions as a function of time $t > 0$ after the quantum quench. We observe delicate cancel…
We derive an exact formula for the field form factor in the anyonic Lieb-Liniger model, valid for arbitrary values of the interaction $c$, anyonic parameter $κ$, and number of particles $N$. Analogously to the bosonic case, the form factor is expressed in terms of the determinant of a $N\times N$ matrix, whose elements are rational functions of the Bethe quasimomenta but explicitly depend on $κ$. The formula is efficient to evaluate, and provide an essential ingredient for several numerical and analytical calculations. Its derivation consists of three steps. First, we show that the anyonic for…
We introduce a framework for calculating dynamical correlations in the Lieb-Liniger model in arbitrary energy eigenstates and for all space and time, that combines a Lehmann representation with a $1/c$ expansion. The $n^{\rm th}$ term of the expansion is of order $1/c^n$ and takes into account all $\lfloor \tfrac{n}{2}\rfloor+1$ particle-hole excitations over the averaging eigenstate. Importantly, in contrast to a 'bare' $1/c$ expansion it is uniform in space and time. The framework is based on a method for taking the thermodynamic limit of sums of form factors that exhibit non integrable sing…
Aiming at studying the emergence of Non-Equilibrium Steady States (NESS) in quantum integrable models by means of an exact analytical method, we focus on the Tonks-Girardeau or hard-core boson limit of the Lieb-Liniger model. We consider the abrupt expansion of a gas from one half to the entire confining box, a prototypical case of inhomogeneous quench, also known as "geometric quench". Based on the exact calculation of quench overlaps, we develop an analytical method for the derivation of the NESS by rigorously treating the thermodynamic and large time and distance limit. Our method is based …

We continue our study of the emergence of Non-Equilibrium Steady States in quantum integrable models focusing on the expansion of a Lieb-Liniger gas for arbitrary repulsive interaction. As a first step towards the derivation of the asymptotics of observables in the thermodynamic and large distance and time limit, we derive an exact multiple integral representation of the time evolved many-body wave-function. Starting from the known but complicated expression for the overlaps of the initial state of a geometric quench, which are derived from the Slavnov formula for scalar products of Bethe stat…
We consider the well-known Lieb-Liniger (LL) model for $N$ bosons interacting pairwise on the line via the $δ$-potential in the mean-field scaling regime. Assuming suitable asymptotic factorization of the initial wave functions and convergence of the microscopic energy per particle, we show that the time-dependent reduced density matrices of the system converge in trace norm to the pure states given by the solution to the one-dimensional cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) with an explict rate of convergence. In contrast to previous work arXiv:0906.3047 relying on quantum field theory a…
Pointlike interactions between bosons in 1D are related to pointlike interactions between fermions through the Girardeau mapping. This mapping is a strong-weak duality since the coupling constants in the bosonic and fermionic cases are inversely proportional to each other. We present a regularization of these pointlike interactions that preserves the strong-weak duality, contrary to previously known regularizations. This is proven rigorously. This allows one to use this duality perturbatively and we illustrate it in the Lieb-Liniger model at strong coupling.
