A nonlinear model of the quantum harmonic oscillator on two-dimensional spaces of constant curvature is exactly solved. This model depends of a parameter $\la$ that is related with the curvature of the space. Firstly the relation with other approaches is discussed and then the classical system is quantized by analyzing the symmetries of the metric (Killing vectors), obtaining a $\la$-dependent invariant measure $dμ_\la$ and expressing the Hamiltonian as a function of the Noether momenta. In the second part the quantum superintegrability of the Hamiltonian and the multiple separability of the Schrödinger equation is studied. Two $\la$-dependent Sturm-Liouville problems, related with two different $\la$-deformations of the Hermite equation, are obtained. This leads to the study of two $\la$-dependent families of orthogonal polynomials both related with the Hermite polynomials. Finally the wave functions $Ψ_{m,n}$ and the energies $E_{m,n}$ of the bound states are exactly obtained in both the sphere $S^2$ and the hyperbolic plane $H^2$.
In this note we discuss the complex version of the Higgs oscillator on the hyperbolic space. The eigenvalues and resonances of the complex Higgs oscillator are computed in different examples in the hyperbolic setting. We also propose open problems like whether the complex absorbing potential (CAP) method works for asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds and finding hyperbolic analogues of the complex harmonic oscillator.
The superintegrability of several Hamiltonian systems defined on three-dimensional configuration spaces of constant curvature is studied. We first analyze the properties of the Killing vector fields, Noether symmetries and Noether momenta. Then we study the superintegrability of the Harmonic Oscillator, the Smorodinsky-Winternitz (S-W) system and the Harmonic Oscillator with ratio of frequencies 1:1:2 and additional nonlinear terms on the 3-dimensional sphere $S^3$ ($\kp>0)$ and on the hyperbolic space $H^3$ ($\kp<0$). In the second part we present a study first of the Kepler problem and then …
The 2-body problem on the sphere and hyperbolic space are both real forms of holomorphic Hamiltonian systems defined on the complex sphere. This admits a natural description in terms of biquaternions and allows us to address questions concerning the hyperbolic system by complexifying it and treating it as the complexification of a spherical system. In this way, results for the 2-body problem on the sphere are readily translated to the hyperbolic case. For instance, we implement this idea to completely classify the relative equilibria for the 2-body problem on hyperbolic 3-space for a strictly …
We show that the oscillators on a sphere and pseudosphere are related, by the so-called Bohlin transformation, with the Coulomb systems on the pseudosphere: the even states of an oscillator yields the conventional Coulomb system on pseudosphere, while the odd states yield the Coulomb system on pseudosphere in the presence of magnetic flux tube generating half spin. In the higher dimensions the oscillator and Coulomb(-like) systems are connected in the similar way. In particular, applying the Kustaanheimo-Stiefel transformation to the oscillators on sphere and pseudosphere, we obtained the preu…
A stability and bifurcation analysis of a kinetic equation indicates that the flocking bifurcation of the two-dimensional Vicsek model exhibits an interplay between parabolic and hyperbolic behavior. For box sizes smaller than a certain large value, flocking appears continuously from a uniform disordered state at a critical value of the noise. Because of mass conservation, the amplitude equations describing the flocking state consist of a scalar equation for the density disturbance from the homogeneous particle density (particle number divided by box area) and a vector equation for a current d…
