We consider the electromagnetic vacuum field inside a perfect plane cavity with moving mirrors, in the nonrelativistic approximation. We show that low frequency photons are generated in pairs that satisfy simple properties associated to the plane geometry. We calculate the photon generation rates for each polarization as functions of the mechanical frequency by two independent methods: on one hand from the analysis of the boundary conditions for moving mirrors and with the aid of Green functions; and on the other hand by an effective Hamiltonian approach. The angular and frequency spectra are discrete, and emission rates for each allowed angular direction are obtained. We discuss the dependence of the generation rates on the cavity length and show that the effect is enhanced for short cavity lengths. We also compute the dissipative force on the moving mirrors and show that it is related to the total radiated energy as predicted by energy conservation.
We address an experimental scheme to analyze the optical bistability and the entanglement of two movable mirrors coupled to a two-mode laser inside a doubly resonant cavity. With this aim we investigate the master equations of the atom-cavity subsystem in conjunction with the quantum Langevin equations that describe the interaction of the mirror cavity. The parametric amplification-type coupling induced by the two-photon coherence on the optical bistability of the intracavity mean photon numbers is found and investigated. Under this condition, the optical intensities exhibit bistability for al…
The generation of quantum entanglement of macroscopic or mesoscopic bodies in mechanical motion is generally bounded by the thermal fluctuation exerted by their environments. Here we propose a scheme to establish stationary entanglement between two mechanically oscillating mirrors of a cavity. It is revealed that, by applying a broadband squeezed laser acting as a squeezed-vacuum reservoir to the cavity, a stable entanglement between the mechanical mirrors can be generated. Using the adiabatic elimination and master equation methods, we analytically find that the generated entanglement is esse…
We investigate the optical behavior of a single Laguerre-Gaussian cavity optomechanical system consisting of two mechanically rotating mirrors. We explore the effects of various physical parameters on the double optomechanically induced transparency (OMIT) of the system and provide a detailed explanation of the underlying physical mechanism. We show that the momentum is not the cause of the current double-OMIT phenomena; rather, it results from the orbital angular momentum between the optical field and the rotating mirrors. Additionally, the double-OMIT is simply produced using a single Laguer…
Optomechanical systems have been attracting intensive attention in various physical experiments. With an optomechanical system, the displacement of or the force acting on a mechanical oscillator can be precisely measured by utilizing optical interferometry. As a mechanical oscillator, a suspended mirror is often used in over milligram scale optomechanical systems. However, the tiny suspended mirror in a linear cavity can be unstable in its yaw rotational degree of freedom due to optical radiation pressure. This instability curbs the optical power that the cavity can accumulate in it, and impos…
We investigate a double cavity optomechanical system(OMS) generating single and double Fano resonance(multi Fano). By altering a single parameter, the tunneling rate $g$ of the middle mirror, we are able to switch between single and double Fano line shapes. The first spectral line shape is stronger in the case of multi Fano than in the case of single Fano. Also the behaviour of steady state value of the displacement of the middle mirror with respect to $g$, heavily influences the behaviour of double Fano lines in our scheme. This tunability along-with using a single pump and signal/probe laser…
While the levitating mirror has seen renewed interest lately, relatively little is known about its quantum behaviour. In this paper we present a quantum theory of a one dimensional levitating mirror. The mirror forms a part of a Fabry-Perot cavity where the circulating intracavity field supports the mirror through radiation pressure alone. We find a blue and red detuned steady-state of which only the blue detuned solution with damping on the mirror and cavity is stable. We find strong entanglement (15-20 ebits) between the mirror output and cavity output and squeezing in the mirror position.

The present paper illustrates the realization of an atom-optomechanical system where an atomic ensemble is confined in a ring optomechanical cavity consisting of a fixed mirror and two movable ones. An analysis of the dynamics and the linearization of the equations allows to derive the multimode covariance matrix. Under realistic experimental conditions, we numerically simulate the steady-state bipartite and tripartite continuous variable entanglement using the logarithmic negativity, and analyze the shared entanglement in the multimode system. The introduction of the atomic medium allows to o…
We present a general framework for cavity quantum electrodynamics with strongly frequency-dependent mirrors. The method is applicable to a variety of reflectors exhibiting sharp internal resonances as can be realized, for example, with photonic-crystal mirrors or with two-dimensional atomic arrays around subradiant points. Our approach is based on a modification of the standard input--output formalism to explicitly include the dynamics of the mirror's internal resonance. We show how to directly extract the interaction tuning parameters from the comparison with classical transfer matrix theory …
We theoretically investigate the dispersive interaction of a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) trapped inside an optomechanical cavity with a moving end mirror in the presence of the laser phase noise (LPN) as well as the atomic collisions. We assume that the effective frequency of the optical mode is much greater than those of the mechanical and the Bogoliubov modes of the movable mirror and the BEC . In the adiabatic approximation where the damping rate of the cavity is faster than those of the other modes, the system behaves as an effective two-mode model in which the atomic and mechanical mod…
We analyse the dynamics of a one-dimensional vertical Fabry-Pérot cavity, where the upper mirror levitates due to intra-cavity radiation pressure force. A perturbative approach is used based around separation of timescales, which allows us to calculate the physical quantities of interest. Due to the dynamics of the cavity field, we find that the upper mirror's motion will always be unstable for levitation performed using only a single laser. Stability can be achieved for two lasers, where one provides the trapping potential and the other a damping effect, and we locate and characterise all par…
Various lower- and higher-order nonclassical properties have been studied for two physical systems- (i) an optomechanical system composed of a Fabry-Perot cavity with one nonlinearly oscillating mirror and (ii) an optomechanical-like system formed using a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) trapped inside an optical cavity. The investigation is performed using a perturbation method that leads to closed form analytic expressions for the time evolution of the relevant bosonic operators. In the first system, it is observed that the radiation pressure coupling leads to the emergence of lower- and highe…
