Covariant Quantum Dynamical Semigroups: Unbounded generators

A survey of the probabilistic approaches to quantum dynamical semigroups with unbounded generators is given. An emphasis is made upon recent advances in the structural theory of covariant Markovian master equations. The relations with the classical Levy-Khinchin formula are elucidated. As an example, a complete characterizations of the Galilean covariant irreversible quantum Markovian evolutions is given in terms of the corresponding quantum master and Langevin equations. Important topics for future investigation are outlined.

On perturbations of dynamical semigroups defined by covariant completely positive measures on the semi-axis

We consider perturbations of dynamical semigroups on the algebra of all bounded operators in a Hilbert space generated by covariant completely positive measures on the semi-axis. The construction is based upon unbounded linear perturbations of generators of the preadjoint semigroups on the space of nuclear operators. As an application we construct a perturbation of the semigroup of non-unital *-endomorphisms on the algebra of canonical anticommutation relations resulting in the flow of shifts.

Covariant Ergodic Quantum Markov Semigroups via Systems of Imprimitivity

We construct relativistic quantum Markov semigroups from covariant completely positive maps. We proceed by generalizing a step in Stinespring's dilation to a general system of imprimitivity and basing it on Poincaré group. The resulting noise channels are relativistically consistent and the method is applicable to any fundamental particle, though we demonstrate it for the case of light-like particles. Unbounded generators of dynamical semigroups

Dynamical semigroups have become the key structure for describing open system dynamics in all of physics. Bounded generators are known to be of a standard form, due to Gorini, Kossakowski, Sudarshan and Lindblad. This form is often used also in the unbounded case, but rather little is known about the general form of unbounded generators. Approximation and limit theorems for quantum stochastic models with unbounded coefficients

We prove a limit theorem for quantum stochastic differential equations with unbounded coefficients which extends the Trotter-Kato theorem for contraction semigroups. From this theorem, general results on the convergence of approximations and singular perturbations are obtained. The results are illustrated in several examples of physical interest.

Twisted convolution quantum information channels, one-parameter semigroups and their generators

Using the tool of quantum characteristic functions of n-mode states in the boson Fock space Γ(C_n) we construct a semigroup of quantum information channels. This leads to a special class of one-parameter semigroups of such channels. These semigroups are concrete but their generators have unbounded operator coefficients. On singular perturbations of quantum dynamical semigroups

We consider two examples of dynamical semigroups obtained by singular perturbations of a standard generator which are special case of unbounded completely positive perturbations studied in detail in [10]. In the section 2 we propose a generalization of an example from [1] aimed to give a positive answer to a conjecture of Arveson. In the section 3 we consider in greater detail an improved and simplified construction of a nonstandard dynamical semigroup outlined in our short communication [13].
