Classical mechanics is based upon a mechanical picture of nature that is fundamentally incorrect. It has been replaced at the basic level by a radically different theory: quantum mechanics. This change entails an enormous shift in our basic conception of nature, one that can profoundly alter the scientific image of man himself. Self-image is the foundation of values, and the replacement of the mechanistic self-image derived from classical mechanics by one concordant with quantum mechanics may provide the foundation of a moral order better suited to our times, a self-image that endows human life with meaning, responsibility, and a deeper linkage to nature as a whole.

Three-dimensional representation of the many-body quantum state

Using the trajectory conception of state we give a simple demonstration that the quantum state of a many-body system may be expressed as a set of states in three-dimensional space, one associated with each particle. It follows that the many-body wavefunction may be derived from a set of waves in 3-space. Entanglement is represented in the trajectory picture by the mutual dependence of the 3-states on the trajectory labels.

Reflections on the Spatiotemporal Aspects of the Quantum World

The proper resolution of the so-called measurement problem requires a "top-down" conception of the quantum world that is opposed to the usual "bottom-up" conception, which builds on an intrinsically and maximally differentiated manifold. Reality facing quantum mechanics

All investigators working on the foundations of quantum mechanics agree that the theory has profoundly modified our conception of reality. But there ends the consensus. The unproblematic formalism of the theory gives rise to a number of very different interpretations, each of which has consequences on the notion of reality. The logic of a physical theory reflects the structure of the propositions referring to the behaviour of a physical system in the domain of the relevant theory. Generalized Almost Complete Revivals in quantum spin chains

The conception of almost complete revivals has been introduced recently. In a quantum many-body system local observable may exhibit an almost complete revival to its maximal value at the predetermined moment of time. In this paper we extend the original procedure such that the revival may be from an arbitrary point on the Bloch sphere to the arbitrary point. Furthermore in the proposed procedure the reviving and collapsing sites are not necessarily the same. We also demonstrate that for spins $S$ higher than $1/2$ almost complete revivals are suppressed as $1/S$.
