We propose and prove protocols of controlled and combined remote implementations of partially unknown quantum operations belonging to the restricted sets [An Min Wang: PRA, \textbf{74}, 032317(2006)] using GHZ states. We detailedly describe the protocols in the cases of one qubit, respectively, with one controller and with two senders. Then we extend the protocols to the cases of multiqubits with many controllers and two senders. Because our protocols have to demand the controller(s)'s startup and authorization or two senders together working and cooperations, the controlled and combined remote implementations of quantum operations definitely can enhance the security of remote quantum information processing and potentially have more applications. Moreover, our protocol with two senders is helpful to farthest arrive at the power of remote implementations of quantum operations in theory since the different senders perhaps have different operational resources and different operational rights in practice.
We propose and prove the protocol of remote implementations of partially unknown quantum operations of multiqubits belonging to the restricted sets. Moreover, we obtain the general and explicit forms of restricted sets and present evidence of their uniqueness and optimization. In addition, our protocol has universal recovery operations that can enhance the power of remote implementations of quantum operations.
We propose the concept of SLOCC-equivalent basis (SEB) in the multiqubit space. In particular, two special SEBs, the GHZ-type and the W-type basis are introduced. They can make up a more general family of multiqubit states, the GHZ-W-type states, which is a useful kind of entanglement for quantum teleporatation and error correction. We completely characterize the property of this type of states, and mainly classify the GHZ-type states and the W-type states in a regular way, which is related to the enumerative combinatorics. Many concrete examples are given to exhibit how our method is used for…
We employ conditional Tsallis q entropies to study the separability of symmetric one parameter W and GHZ multiqubit mixed states. The strongest limitation on separability is realized in the limit q-->infinity, and is found to be much superior to the condition obtained using the von Neumann conditional entropy (q=1 case). Except for the example of two qubit and three qubit symmetric states of GHZ family, the $q$-conditional entropy method leads to sufficient - but not necessary - conditions on separability.
We propose a scheme to generate Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state for N superconducting qubits in a circuit QED system. By sinusoidally modulating the qubit-qubit coupling, a synthetic magnetic field has been made which broken the time-reversal symmetry of the system. Directional rotation of qubit excitation can be realized in a three-qubit loop under the artificial magnetic field. Based on the special quality that the rotation of qubit excitation has different direction for single- and double-excitation loops, we can generate three-qubit GHZ state and extend this preparation method to a…
We propose a way for transferring Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) entangled states from $n$ qubits in one cavity onto another $n$ qubits in the other cavity. It is shown that $n$-qubit GHZ states $α\left\vert 00...0\right\rangle +β\left\vert 11...1\right\rangle $ with arbitrary degree of entanglement can be transferred deterministically. Both of the GHZ state transfer and the operation time are not dependent on the number of qubits, and there is no need of measurement. This proposal is quite general and can be applied to accomplish the same task for a wide range of physical qubits. Furthermo…
We investigate the decay of entanglement of generalized N-particle Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states interacting with independent reservoirs. Scaling laws for the decay of entanglement and for its finite-time extinction (sudden death) are derived for different types of reservoirs. The latter is found to increase with the number of particles. However, entanglement becomes arbitrarily small, and therefore useless as a resource, much before it completely disappears, around a time which is inversely proportional to the number of particles. We also show that the decay of multi-particle GHZ s…
We propose a protocol to transmit three quantum states crossly in a butterfly network with prior entanglement, in the form of GHZ states, between three senders. The proposed protocol requires only one qubit transmission or two classical bits transmission in each channel of the network. We generalize this protocol to higher number of qubits with multiqubit GHZ states towards quantum network operability using network coding with multiqubit GHZ states on higher-order butterfly networks.
Most matter-wave interferometry (MWI) schemes for quantum sensing are so far evaluated in ideal situations without noises. In this work, we provide assessments of generic multiqubit MWI schemes under Markovian dephasing noises. We find that for certain classes of the MWI schemes with scale factors that are nonlinearly dependent on the interrogation time, the optimal precision of maximally entangled probes \emph{decreases} with increasing the particle number $N$, for both independent and collective dephasing situations. This result challenges the conventional wisdom found in dephasing Ramsey-ty…
Different from the previous works on generating entangled states, this work is focused on how to transfer the prepared entangled states onto memory qubits for protecting them against decoherence. We here consider a physical system consisting of $n$ operation qubits and $2n$ memory qubits placed in a cavity or coupled to a resonator. A method is presented for transferring $n$-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) entangled states from the operation qubits (i.e., information processing cells) onto the memory qubits (i.e., information memory elements with long decoherence time). The transferred…
We explore the subtle relationships between partial separability and entanglement of subsystems in multiqubit quantum states and give experimentally accessible conditions that distinguish between various classes and levels of partial separability in a hierarchical order. These conditions take the form of bounds on the correlations of locally orthogonal observables. Violations of such inequalities give strong sufficient criteria for various forms of partial inseparability and multiqubit entanglement. The strength of these criteria is illustrated by showing that they are stronger than several ot…
We compare remote information concentration by a maximally entangled GHZ state with by an unlockable bound entangled state. We find that the bound entangled state is as useful as the GHZ state, even do better than the GHZ state in the context of communication security.
This study proposes a pioneering protocol for teleporting an arbitrary single particle state and simultaneously performing a rotation operation on that particle. There are protocols for either only teleporting particles or only remotely controlling quantum particles. If one has to remotely control a teleported quantum, then he/she has to first do the quantum teleportation and then perform the remote control on the teleported quantum. Both operations were done separately on two sets of entanglements. However, this intuitive solution is inefficient because many resources are wasted. Therefore, t…
We present a physical setup with which it is possible to produce arbitrary symmetric long-lived multiqubit entangled states in the internal ground levels of photon emitters, including the paradigmatic GHZ and W states. In the case of three emitters, where each tripartite entangled state belongs to one of two well-defined entanglement classes, we prove a one-to-one correspondence between well-defined sets of experimental parameters, i.e., locally tunable polarizer orientations, and multiqubit entanglement classes inside the symmetric subspace.
A scheme for the deterministic joint remote preparation of a four- qubit cluster-type state using only two Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states as quantum channels is presented. In this scheme, the first sender per- forms a two-qubit projective measurement according to the real coefficient of the desired state. Then, the other sender utilizes the measurement result and the complex coefficient to perform another projective measurement. To obtain the desired state, the receiver applies appropriate unitary operations to his/her own two qubits and two CNOT operations to the two ancillary ones.…
Quantum secure communication brings a new direction for information security. As an important component of quantum secure communication, deterministic joint remote state preparation (DJRSP) could securely transmit a quantum state with 100\% success probability. In this paper, we study how the efficiency of DJRSP is affected when qubits involved in the protocol are subjected to noise or decoherence. Taking a GHZ based DJRSP scheme as an example, we study all types of noise usually encountered in real-world implementations of quantum communication protocols, i.e., the bit-flip, phase-flip (phase…
This paper proposes a multiparty quantum remote control (MQRC) protocol, which allows several controllers to perform remote operations independently on a target state based on a shared entanglement of Greenberger-Home-Zeilinger (GHZ) state.
We present two schemes for multiparty quantum remote secret conference in which each legitimate conferee can read out securely the secret message announced by another one, but a vicious eavesdropper can get nothing about it. The first one is based on the same key shared efficiently and securely by all the parties with Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states, and each conferee sends his secret message to the others with one-time pad crypto-system. The other one is based on quantum encryption with a quantum key, a sequence of GHZ states shared among all the conferees and used repeatedly after c…
We generalize the control power of a perfect controlled teleportation of an entangled three-qubit pure state, suggested by Li and Ghose [Phys. Rev. A {\bf 90}, 052305 (2014)], to the control power of a general controlled teleportation of a multiqubit pure state. Thus, we define the minimal control power, and calculate the values of the minimal control power for a class of general three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states and the three-qubit W class whose states have zero three-tangles. Moreover, we show that the standard three-qubit GHZ state and the standard three-qubit W state hav…
We address the issue of improving the quality of the joint remote preparation of an arbitrary two-qubit in case four qubits of the quantum channel which consists of a GHZ state and a GHZ-like one are subjected to noises. Two controlling parameters are added, one in the quantum channel and other in the measurement of the second sender, in order to optimize the averaged fidelities. The results from analyzing the behaviors of the optimal averaged fidelities show that there are essentially two different ways for the optimization of the efficiency of the protocol. The first is simply choosing suita…

In quantum teleportation, an unknown quantum state is transmitted from one party to another using only local operations and classical communication, at the cost of shared entanglement. Is it possible similarly, using an $N$ party entangled state, to have the state retrievable by {\it any} of the $N-1$ possible receivers? If the receivers cooperate, and share a suitable state, this can be done reliably. The $N$ party GHZ is one such state; I derive a large class of such states, and show that they are in general not equivalent to the GHZ. I also briefly discuss the problem where the parties do n…
We investigate the local implementation of nonlocal operations with the block matrix form, and propose a protocol for any diagonal or offdiagonal block operation. This method can be directly generalized to the two-party multiqubit case and the multiparty case. Especially, in the multiparty cases, any diagonal block operation can be locally implemented using the same resources as the multiparty control-U operation discussed in Ref. [Eisert et al., Phys. Rev. A 62, 052317(2000)]. Although in the bipartite case, this kind of operations can be transformed to control-U operation using local operati…
Transmission of quantum states is a central task in quantum information science. Remote state preparation (RSP) has the same goal as teleportation, i.e. transferring quantum information without sending physically the information carrier, but in RSP the sender knows the state which is to be transmitted. We present experimental demonstrations of RSP for two and three locations. In our experimental scheme Alice (the preparer) and her three partners share four and six photon polarization entangled singlets. This allows us to perform RSP of two or three copies of a single qubit states, a two qubit …
Quantum entanglement is a fundamental property of coherent quantum states and an essential resource for quantum computing. While two-qubit entanglement has been demonstrated for spins in silicon, creation of multipartite entanglement, a first step toward implementing quantum error correction, has remained challenging due to the difficulties in controlling a multi-qubit array, such as device disorder, magnetic and electrical noises and exacting exchange controls. Here, we show operation of a fully functional three-qubit array in silicon and generation of a three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinge…
Entangling an unknown qubit with one type of reference state is generally impossible. However, entangling an unknown qubit with two types of reference states is possible. To achieve this, we introduce a new class of states called zero sum amplitude (ZSA) multipartite, pure entangled states for qubits and study their salient features. Using shared-ZSA state, local operation and classical communication we give a protocol for creating multipartite entangled states of an unknown quantum state with two types of reference states at remote places. This provides a way of encoding an unknown pure qubit…
We present two schemes for joint remote preparation of an arbitrary four-qubit j\c{hi}i -type entangled state via three three- and (N+1)-qubit GHZ states as the quantum channel, respectively. In these schemes, two senders (or N senders) share the original state which they wish to help the receiver to remotely prepare. To complete the JRSP schemes, several novel sets of mutually orthogonal basis vectors are introduced. It is shown that, only if two senders (or N senders) collaborate with each other, and perform projective measurements under suitable measuring basis on their own qubits respectiv…
We present a scheme for joint remote state preparation (JRSP) of three-particle state via three tripartite Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) entangled states as the quantum channel linking the parties. We use eight-qubit mutually orthogonal basis vector as measurement point of departure. The likelihood of success for this scheme has been found to be $1/8$. However, by putting some special cases into consideration, the chances can be ameliorated to $1/4$ and $1$. The effects of amplitude-damping noise, phase-damping noise and depolarizing noise on this scheme have been scrutinized and the analy…
The protocols for controlled remote state preparation of a single qubit and a general two-qubit state are presented in this paper. The general pure three-qubit states are chosen as shared quantum channel, which are not LOCC equivalent to the mostly used GHZ-state. It is the first time to introduce general pure three-qubit states to complete remote state preparation. The probability of successful preparation is presented. Moreover, in some special cases, the successful probability could reach unit.
Quantum secure communication provides a new way for protecting the security of information. As an important component of quantum secure communication, remote state preparation (RSP) can securely transmit a quantum state from a sender to a remote receiver. The existence of quantum noise severely affects the security and reliability of quantum communication system. In this paper, we study the method for improving the efficiency of joint RSP (JRSP) subjected to noise with the help of weak measurement and its reversal measurement. Taking a GHZ based deterministic JRSP as an example, we utilize the…
A large payload bidirectional quantum secure direct communication (BQSDC) protocol without information leakage is proposed, which is based on entanglement swapping between any two GHZ states. Two remote authorized parties, Alice and Bob, can safely exchange their individual secret messages without worrying about the information leakage problem. Our protocol uses a shared secret GHZ state to overcome the information leakage problem. The shared secret GHZ state plays two roles in the bidirectional communication process: on one hand, it lets Bob know the prepared initial state; on the other hand,…

We present a general approach to measurement-based quantum feedback that employs proportional and quantum state-based (PaQS) feedback components to obtain locally optimal protocols. To demonstrate the power of the method, we first show that it reproduces many known feedback protocols, and then apply it to generation of multipartite entanglement with an emphasis on remote entanglement, which requires spatially local feedback Hamiltonians. The symmetry of both measurement and feedback operators is found to be essential for construction of effective protocols. We show that under perfect measureme…
This letter reports the influence of noisy channels on JRSP of two-qubit equatorial state. We present a scheme for JRSP of two-qubit equatorial state. We employ two tripartite Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) entangled states as the quantum channel linking the parties. We find the success probability to be $1/4$. However, this probability can be ameliorated to $3/4$ if the state preparers assist by transmitting individual partial information through classical channel to the receiver non-contemporaneously. Afterward, we investigate the effects of five quantum noises: the bit-flip noise, bit-ph…
Quantum networks can enable long-range quantum communication and modular quantum computation. A powerful approach is to use multi-qubit network nodes which provide the quantum memory and computational power to perform entanglement distillation, quantum error correction, and information processing. Nuclear spins associated with optically-active defects in diamond are promising qubits for this role. However, their dephasing during entanglement distribution across the optical network hinders scaling to larger systems. In this work, we show that a single 13C spin in isotopically engineered diamond…
