This is a study of $q$-Fermions arising from a q-deformed algebra of harmonic oscillators. Two distinct algebras will be investigated. Employing the first algebra, the Fock states are constructed for the generalized Fermions obeying Pauli exclusion principle. The distribution function and other thermodynamic properties such as the internal energy and entropy are derived. Another generalization of fermions from a different q-deformed algebra is investigated which deals with q-fermions not obeying the exclusion principle. Fock states are constructed for this system. The basic numbers appropriate for this system are determined as a direct consequence of the algebra. We also establish the Jackson Derivative, which is required for the q-calculus needed to describe these generalized Fermions.
We present a formulation of the deformed oscillator algebra which leads to intermediate statistics as a continuous interpolation between the Bose-Einstein and Fermi-Dirac statistics. It is deduced that a generalized permutation or exchange symmetry leads to the introduction of the basic number and it is then established that this in turn leads to the deformed algebra of oscillators. We obtain the mean occupation number describing the particles obeying intermediate statistics which thus establishes the interpolating statistics and describe boson like and fermion like particles obeying intermedi…
An outstanding idea originally introduced by Greenberg is to investigate whether there is equivalence between intermediate statistics, which may be different from anyonic statistics, and q-deformed particle algebra. Also, a model to be studied for addressing such an idea could possibly provide us some new consequences about the interactions of particles as well as their internal structures. Motivated mainly by this idea, in this work, we consider a q-deformed Fermi gas model whose statistical properties enable effectively us to study interpolating statistics. Starting with a generalized Fermi-…
The theory of Fermion oscillators has two essential ingredients: zero-point energy and Pauli exclusion principle. We devlop the theory of the statistical mechanics of generalized q-deformed Fermion oscillator algebra with inclusion principle (i.e., without the exclusion principle), which corresponds to ordinary fermions with Pauli exclusion principle in the classical limit $q \to 1$. Some of the remarkable properties of this theory play a crucial role in the understanding of the q-deformed Fermions. We show that if we insist on the weak exclusion principle, then the theory has the expected low…
In our two preceding papers we studied bipartite composite boson (or quasiboson) systems through their realization in terms of deformed oscillators. Therein, the entanglement characteristics such as the entanglement entropy and purity were found and expressed, for both one-quasiboson and more complex states, through the parameter of deformation. In this work we initiate an analogous study of composite fermions for two major cases: (i) "boson + fermion" composites; (ii) "deformed-boson + fermion" composites. Both the entanglement entropy and purity of composite fermions are dealt with, their de…
We investigate the algebras satisfied by q-deformed boson and fermion oscillators, in particular the transformations of the algebra from one form to another. Based on a specific algebra proposed in recent literature, we show that the algebra of deformed fermions can be transformed to that of undeformed standard fermions. Furthermore we also show that the algebra of q-deformed fermions can be transformed to that of undeformed standard bosons.
In this paper we describe a new family of algebras which in the case of n = 2 reduces to the Fermion algebra and in the limiting case of n tends to infinity reduces to the Boson algebra. These generalized algebras describe particles which obey a generalized exclusion principle, limiting state occupation to (n-1) and obeying a generalized particle statistics.
The intimate connection between q-deformed Heisenberg uncertainty relation and the Jackson derivative based on q-basic numbers has been noted in the literature. The purpose of this work is to establish this connection in a clear and self-consistent formulation and to show explicitly how the Jackson derivative arises naturally. We utilize a holomorphic representation to arrive at the correct algebra to describe q-deformed bosons. We investigate the algebra of q-fermions and point out how different it is from the theory of q-bosons. We show that the holomorphic representation for q-fermions is i…
The recently introduced by us two- and three-parameter ($p,q$)- and ($p,q,μ$)-deformed extensions of the Heisenberg algebra were explored under the condition of their direct link with the respective (nonstandard) deformed quantum oscillator algebras. In this paper we explore certain Hermitian Hamiltonian build in terms of non-Hermitian position and momentum operators obeying definite $η(N)$-pseudo-Hermiticity properties. A generalized nonlinear (with the coefficients depending on the excitation number operator $N$) one-mode Bogolyubov transformation is developed as main tool for the correspond…
We study the thermostatistics of q-deformed bosons and fermions obeying the symmetric algebra and show that it can be built on the formalism of q-calculus. The entire structure of thermodynamics is preserved if ordinary derivatives are replaced by an appropriate Jackson derivative. In this framework, we derive the most important thermodynamic functions describing the q-boson and q-fermion ideal gases in the thermodynamic limit. We also investigate the semi-classical limit and the low temperature regime and demonstrate that the nature of the q-deformation gives rise to pure quantum statistical …
The idea that a system obeying interpolating statistics can be described by a deformed oscillator algebra has been an outstanding issue. This original concept introduced long ago by Greenberg is the motivation for this investigation. We establish that a q-deformed algebra can be used to describe the statistics of particles (anyons) interpolating continuously between Bose and Fermi statistics, i.e., fractional statistics. We show that the generalized intermediate statistics splits into the Boson-like and Fermion-like regimes, each described by a unique oscillator algebra. The B-anyon thermostat…
Composite structure of particles somewhat modifies their statistics, compared to the pure Bose- or Fermi-ones. The spin-statistics theorem, so, is not valid anymore. Say, $π$-mesons, excitons, Cooper pairs are not ideal bosons, and, likewise, baryons are not pure fermions. In our preceding papers, we studied bipartite composite boson (i.e. quasiboson) systems via a realization by deformed oscillators. Therein, the interconstituent entanglement characteristics such as entanglement entropy and purity were found in terms of the parameter of deformation. Herein, we perform an analogous study of co…
A deformed fermion gas model aimed at taking into account thermal and electronic properties of quasiparticle systems is devised. The model is constructed by the fermionic Fibonacci oscillators whose spectrum is given by a generalized Fibonacci sequence. We first introduce some new properties concerning the Fibonacci calculus. We then investigate the low-temperature thermostatistical properties of the model, and derive many of the deformed thermostatistical functions such as the chemical potential and the entropy in terms of the model deformation parameters p and q. We specifically focus on the…
In this article, after introducing a kind of q-deformation in quantum mechanics, first, q-deformed form of Dirac equation in relativistic quantum mechanics is derived. Then three important scat erring problem in physics are studied. All results have satisfied what we had expected before. Furthermore, effects of all parameters in the problems on the reflection and transmission coefficients are calculated and shown graphically.
Composite bosons, here called {\it quasibosons} (e.g. mesons, excitons, etc.), occur in various physical situations. Quasibosons differ from bosons or fermions as their creation and annihilation operators obey non-standard commutation relations, even for the "fermion+fermion" composites. Our aim is to realize the operator algebra of quasibosons composed of two fermions or two q-fermions (q-deformed fermions) by the respective operators of deformed oscillators, the widely studied objects. For this, the restrictions on quasiboson creation/annihilation operators and on the deformed oscillator (de…
The concept of quasi-bosons or composite bosons (like mesons, excitons etc.) has a wide range of potential physical applications. Even composed of two pure fermions, the quasi-boson creation and annihilation operators satisfy non-standard commutation relations. It is natural to try to realize the quasi-boson operators by the operators of deformed (nonlinear) oscillator, the latter constituting widely studied field of modern quantum physics. In this paper, it is proved that the deformed oscillators which realize quasi-boson operators in a consistent way really exist. The conditions for such rea…
We revisit $T\bar T$ deformations of $d=2$ theories with fermions with a view toward the quantization. As a simple illustration, we compute the deformed Dirac bracket for a Majorana doublet and confirm the known eigenvalue flows perturbatively. We mostly consider those $T\bar T$ theories that can be reconstructed from string-like theories upon integrating out the worldsheet metric. After a quick overview of how this works when we add NSR-like or GS-like fermions, we obtain a known non-supersymmetric $T\bar T$ deformation of a $\cN=(1,1)$ theory from the latter, based on the Noether energy-mome…
We investigate a two-dimensional system of with two values of the internal (spin) degree of freedom. It is confined by a deformed harmonic trap and subject to a Zeeman field, Rashba or Dresselhaus one-body spin-orbit couplings and two-body short range repulsion. We obtain self-consistent mean-field $N$-body solutions as functions of the interaction parameters. Single-particle Spectra and total energies are computed and compared to the results without interaction. We perform a statistical analysis for the distributions of nearest neighbor energy level spacings and show that quantum signatures o…
It is known from the early work of May in 1964 that ideal Bose gas do not exhibit condensation phenomenon in two dimensions. On the other hand, it is also known that the thermostatistics arising from q-deformed oscillator algebra has no connection with the spatial dimensions of the system. Our recent work concerns the study of important thermodynamic functions such as the entropy, occupation number, internal energy and specific heat in ordinary three spatial dimensions, where we established that such thermostatistics is developed by consistently replacing the ordinary thermodynamic derivatives…
We investigate a U(1) gauge invariant quantum mechanical system on a 2D noncommutative space with coordinates generating a generalized deformed oscillator algebra. The Hamiltonian is taken as a quadratic form in gauge covariant derivatives obeying the nonlinear Dolan-Grady relations. This restricts the structure function of the deformed oscillator algebra to a quadratic polynomial. The cases when the coordinates form the su(2) and sl(2,R) algebras are investigated in detail. Reducing the Hamiltonian to 1D finite-difference quasi-exactly solvable operators, we demonstrate partial algebraization…
