The measured particle ratios in central heavy-ion collisions at RHIC-BNL are investigated within a chemical and thermal equilibrium chiral SU(3) σ-ωapproach. The commonly adopted noninteracting gas calculations yield temperatures close to or above the critical temperature for the chiral phase transition, but without taking into account any interactions. Contrary, the chiral SU(3) model predicts temperature and density dependent effective hadron masses and effective chemical potentials in the medium and a transition to a chirally restored phase at high temperatures or chemical potentials. Three different parametrizations of the model, which show different types of phase transition behaviour, are investigated. We show that if a chiral phase transition occured in those collisions, ''freezing'' of the relative hadron abundances in the symmetric phase is excluded by the data. Therefore, either very rapid chemical equilibration must occur in the broken phase, or the measured hadron ratios are the outcome of the dynamical symmetry breaking. Furthermore, the extracted chemical freeze-out parameters differ considerably from those obtained in simple noninteracting gas calculations. In particular, the three models yield up to 35 MeV lower temperatures than the free gas approximation. The in-medium masses turn out differ up to 150 MeV from their vacuum values.
Strange particle ratios and pT-spectra are calculated in a thermal model with single freeze-out, previously used successfully to describe non-strange particle production at RHIC. The model and the recently released data for phi, Lambda, anti-Lambda, and K*(892) are in very satisfactory agreement, showing that the thermal approach can be used to describe the strangeness production at RHIC.
We extract chemical freeze-out conditions via a thermal model approach from fluctuation observables measured at RHIC and compare with results from lattice QCD and statistical hadronization model fits. The possible influence of additional critical and non-critical fluctuation sources not accounted for in our analysis is discussed.
The production and freeze-out conditions of strange particles, produced in Au+Au collisions at RHIC energies, are studied within microscopic transport model. The system of final particles can be represented as a core, containing the particles which are still interacting with each other, and a halo, in which the particles have already decoupled from the system. In microscopic calculations hadrons are continuously emitted from the whole reaction volume. At RHIC, however, significant fractions of both mesons and baryons are emitted from the surface region within the first two fm/c. Different spec…
The single-freeze-out model of hadron production is used to describe the particle ratios and the transverse-momentum spectra from RHIC. The emphasis is put on the new measurements done at the highest beam energy of 200 GeV. An overall very good agreement is found between the data and the model predictions. The data for different centrality windows are analyzed separately. A simple scaling of the two expansion parameters of the model with the centrality is found. Interestingly, this scaling turns out to be equivalent to the scaling of hadron production with the number of wounded nucleons.
We investigate the form of the viscous correction to the equilibrium distribution function in the context of a Cooper-Frye freeze out prescription for viscous hydrodynamic simulations of relativistic heavy ion collisions. The standard quadratic ansatz used by all groups for the case of shear viscosity is found to be disfavored by experimental data for v4/(v2)^2 at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, and is unlikely to be correct for the hadron resonance gas present at freeze out. Instead, data for v2(pt) along with v4/(v2)^2 favor a momentum dependence between linear and quadratic.
The experimental data from the RHIC and LHC experiments of invariant pT spectra in A+A and p + p collisions are analysed with Tsallis distributions in different approaches. The information about the freeze-out surface in terms of freeze-out volume, temperature, chemical potential and radial flow velocity for different particle species are obtained. Further, these parameters are studied as a function of the mass of the secondary particles. A mass-dependent differential freeze-out is observed which does not seem to distinguish between particles and their antiparticles. Further a mass-hierarchy i…
We determine chemical freeze-out conditions from strangeness observables measured at RHIC beam energies. Based on a combined analysis of lowest-order net-Kaon fluctuations and strange anti-baryon over baryon yield ratios we obtain visibly enhanced freeze-out conditions at high beam energies compared to previous studies which analyzed net-proton and net-charge fluctuations. Our findings are in qualitative agreement with the recent study [1] which utilizes the net-Kaon fluctuation data in combination with information from lattice QCD. Our complimentary approach shows that also strange hadron yie…
The relaxation of hot nuclear matter to an equilibrated state in the central zone of heavy-ion collisions at energies from AGS to RHIC is studied within the microscopic UrQMD model. It is found that the system reaches the (quasi)equilibrium stage for the period of 10-15 fm/$c$. Within this time the matter in the cell expands nearly isentropically with the entropy to baryon ratio $S/A = 150 - 170$. Thermodynamic characteristics of the system at AGS and at SPS energies at the endpoints of this stage are very close to the parameters of chemical and thermal freeze-out extracted from the thermal fi…
Based on the data-driven analysis, the mid-rapidity transverse momentum spectra of charged hadrons produced in central and peripheral gold-gold (Au-Au) collisions from the Beam Energy Scan (BES) program at the relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) are fitted by the blast-wave model with Boltzmann-Gibbs statistics. The model result are in agreement with the experimental data measured by the STAR Collaboration at the RHIC-BES energies. We observe that the kinetic freeze-out temperature, transverse flow velocity, mean transverse momentum, and initial temperature increase with the collision energ…
The transverse momentum spectra of final-state light flavor particles produced in proton-proton (p-p), copper-copper (Cu-Cu), gold-gold (Au-Au), lead-lead (Pb-Pb), and proton-lead (p-Pb) collisions for different centralities at relativistic heavy ion collider (RHIC) and large hadron collider (LHC) energies are studied in the framework of a multisource thermal model. The experimental data measured by the STAR, CMS, and ALICE Collaborations are consistent with the results calculated by the multi-component Erlang distribution and Tsallis Statistics. The effective temperature and real temperature …
We present calculations of the chemical freeze-out temperature (T_ch) based on particle yields from STAR and ALICE measured at collision energies ranging from sqrt{s_{NN}} = 11.5 GeV to 5.02 TeV. Employing the Grand Canonical Ensemble approach using the Thermal-FIST Hadron Resonance Gas model package, we show evidence for a flavour-dependent chemical freeze-out in the crossover region of the QCD phase diagram. At a vanishing baryochemical potential, we calculate light and strange flavour freeze-out temperatures T_L = 150.2 +- 2.6 MeV and T_S = 165.1 +- 2.7 MeV, respectively.
Using the moments of the net-kaon distribution calculated within a state of-the-art hadron resonance gas model compared to experimental data from STAR's Beam Energy Scan, we find that the extracted strange freeze-out temperature is incompatible with the light one extracted from net-proton and net-charge fluctuations. Additionally predictions for net-$Lambda$ fluctuations are made that also appear to be consistent with a higher freeze-out temperature for strange particles. This strangeness freeze-out temperature is roughly $10-15$ MeV higher than the corresponding light freeze-out temperature. …
Predictions of the single-freeze-out model for the particle spectra at RHIC are presented. The model assumes that the chemical and thermal freeze-outs occur simultaneously, and incorporates in simple terms the longitudinal and transverse flow. All resonance decays are included. The model predictions and the data are in striking agreement in the whole available range of momenta.
We calculate the mean-over-variance ratio of the net-kaon fluctuations in the Hadron Resonance Gas (HRG) Model for the five highest energies of the RHIC Beam Energy Scan (BES) for different particle data lists. We compare these results with the latest experimental data from the STAR collaboration in order to extract sets of chemical freeze-out parameters for each list. We focused on the PDG2012 and PDG2016+ particle lists, which differ largely in the number of resonant states. Our analysis determines the effect of the amount of resonances included in the HRG on the freeze-out conditions.
The pt-spectra of hadrons measured at RHIC are very well described in a model which assumes that the chemical and thermal freeze-outs occur simultaneously. The model calculation includes all hadronic resonances and uses a simple parametrization of the freeze-out hypersurface.
We have estimated centrality variation of chemical freeze-out parameters from yield data at mid-rapidity of $π^\pm$, $K^\pm$ and $p$, $\bar{p}$ for collision energies of RHIC (Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider), Beam Energy Scan (RHIC-BES) program, and LHC (Large Hadron Collider). We have considered a simple hadron resonance gas model and employed a formalism involving conserved charges ($B, Q, S$) of QCD for parameterization. Along with temperature and three chemical potentials ($T,μ_B,μ_Q,μ_S$), a strangeness under-saturation factor ($γ_S$) has been used to incorporate the partial equilibratio…
We compare the mean-over-variance ratio of the net-kaon distribution calculated within a state-of-the-art hadron resonance gas model to the latest experimental data from the Beam Energy Scan at RHIC by the STAR collaboration. Our analysis indicates that it is not possible to reproduce the experimental results using the freeze-out parameters from the existing combined fit of net-proton and net-electric charge mean-over-variance. The strange mesons need about 10-15 MeV higher temperatures than the light hadrons at the highest collision energies. In view of the recent lambda fluctuation measureme…

We formulate a freeze-out criterion for ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions in terms of the pion escape probability from the collision region. We find that the increase in pion phase-space density from SPS to RHIC reported at this conference has a small influence on particle freeze-out because of the small pi-pi cross-section. Our treatment takes into account dynamical expansion, chemical composition and momentum of the escaping particle for particle freeze-out. It supports a freeze-out at rather low temperature - below 100 MeV - and earlier decoupling of high p_t particles.
We calculate ratios of higher-order susceptibilities quantifying fluctuations in the number of net protons and in the net-electric charge using the Hadron Resonance Gas (HRG) model. We take into account the effect of resonance decays, the kinematic acceptance cuts in rapidity, pseudo-rapidity and transverse momentum used in the experimental analysis, as well as a randomization of the isospin of nucleons in the hadronic phase. By comparing these results to the latest experimental data from the STAR collaboration, we determine the freeze-out conditions from net-electric charge and net-proton dis…
We analyze the transverse momentum distribution of $J/ψ$ mesons produced in Au + Au collisions at the top RHIC energy within a blast-wave model that accounts for a possible inhomogeneity of the charmonium distribution and/or flow fluctuations. The results imply that the transverse momentum spectra of$J/ψ$, $ϕ$ and $Ω$ hadrons measured at the RHIC can be described well if kinetic freeze-out takes place just after chemical freeze-out for these particles.
We attempt to describe the rapidity and transverse momentum spectra of strange as well as non-strange hadrons e.g. cascade, cascadebar, lambda , lambdabar, proton, protonbar,(omega+omegabar, Kaon, anti-Kaon and their ratios in the ultra-relativistic collisions of gold nuclei at (Root sNN)=200 GeV. This is done by using a statistical thermal freeze-out model which incorporates the rapidity (collision) axis as well as transverse direction boosts developed within an expanding hot and dense hadronic fluid (fireball) till the final freeze-out. We determine the thermo-chemical freeze-out conditions p…
We determine the decoupling surfaces for the hydrodynamic description of heavy ion collisions at RHIC and LHC by comparing the local hydrodynamic expansion rate with the microscopic pion-pion scattering rate. The pion $p_T$ spectra for nuclear collisions at RHIC and LHC are computed by applying the Cooper-Frye procedure on the dynamical-decoupling surfaces, and compared with those obtained from the constant-temperature freeze-out surfaces. Comparison with RHIC data shows that the system indeed decouples when the expansion rate becomes comparable with the pion scattering rate. The dynamical dec…
The STAR detector at RHIC, due to its large uniform acceptance and excellent particle identification capabilities, has measured a variety of hadron species ($π^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$, $p$, $\bar{p}$, $K^{0}_{S}$, $Λ$, $\barΛ$, $Ξ^{-}$, $\barΞ^{+}$) produced in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt {s_{NN}}= 7.7$, 11.5, 27 and 39 GeV. These data are part of the Beam Energy Scan (BES) program at RHIC and provide an opportunity to measure the yields and transverse momentum spectra ($p_{T}$) of the particles produced in the collisions. The corresponding measurements allow to study the freeze-out properties and dy…
The freezeout conditions in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}}= 200$, $900$ and $7000$ GeV have been extracted by fits to the mean hadron yields at mid-rapidity within the framework of the statistical model of an ideal gas of hadrons and resonances in the grand canonical ensemble. The variation of the extracted freezeout thermal parameters and the goodness of the fits with $\sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}}$ are discussed. We find the extracted temperature and baryon chemical potential of the freezeout surface to be similar in p+p and heavy ion collisions. On the other hand, the thermal …
We will report centrality dependence of chemical freeze-out temperature ($T_{ch}$), light quark chemical potential ($μ_{q}$), strange quark chemical potential ($μ_{s}$), and strangeness saturation factor ($γ_{s}$) in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 130 and 200 GeV. A systematic study for combination of ratios for chemical freeze-out fit is studied and we have found small ombination dependences. The results show $γ_{s}$ increasing with centrality but the other parameters have less sensitivity to the centralities.
Thermal model fit indicates early chemical freeze-out of multi-strange hadrons with small collective velocities at 200AGeV Au-Au collisions at RHIC. In this work, we present our recent results by SPheRIO hydrodynamical calculations inspired by this picture. In our model, multi-strange hadrons go through chemical freeze-out when the system reaches some temperature close to the phase transition, stopping to make inelastic collisions, and their abundances are therefore determined only by partonic EOS. At a lower temperature thermal freeze-out takes place where elastic collisions are brought to a …
In this talk we present the results of two-pion HBT correlation at freeze-out in heavy ion collisions (HICs) from AGS to RHIC energies. The UrQMD hadron-string transport model as well as the CRAB analyzing program are adopted. Based on the cascade mode, in general, the calculations are satisfying and well in line with the experimental data although discrepancies are not negligible. Such as: I), the HBT time-related puzzle exists at all energies. II), at low AGS energies, the calculated volume as well as the mean free path of pion source at freeze-out are lower than data. It implies that a bett…
We investigate the effect of chemical freeze-out on identified particle spectra at 200AGeV Au-Au Collisions at RHIC, by utilizing a full three-dimensional hydrodynamical calculation. The hydrodynamical code SPheRIO we employed is based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamic algorithm. In order to describe the spectra of strange hadrons, the code has been further improved by explicitly incorporating the strangeness conservation and a chemical freeze-out mechanism. In our model, strange hadrons such as Lambda, Xi, Omega and phi undergo the chemical freeze-out immediately after the hadronization, …
Measurements of three-dimensional correlation functions of like-sign low transverse momentum kaon pairs from Au+Au collisions at top RHIC energy $\sqrt s_{NN}$=200 GeV are presented. The extracted kaon source function is narrower than the pion one and does not have the long tail along the pair transverse momentum direction. This indicates a much smaller role of long-lived resonance decays and/or of the emission duration on kaon emission. Three-dimensional Gaussian shape of the kaon source function can be adequately reproduced by Therminator simulations with resonance contributions taken into a…
We use hydrodynamics to generate freeze-out configurations for non-central heavy-ion collisions at present and future collider energies. Such collisions are known to produce strong elliptic flow. The accompanying space-time structure of the source at freeze-out is analyzed using pion interferometry. Between RHIC and LHC energies the source deformation in the transverse plane changes sign. This leaves characteristic signatures in the emission angle dependence of the HBT radii.
Based on the hadron transport frames, detailed simulations are carried out to discuss $ϕ$, $Ω$ productions and the significant enhancements in the very low $p_T$ region for some of the soft spectra in RHIC. Elastic interactions are introduced in the simulations. The elastic cross sections vary from different hadrons and energy scales, which can qualitatively explain the different collective motions of various hadrons.
The freeze-out process in heavy ion collisions is driven by the competition between the scattering rate and the expansion rate of the matter. We analyse the expansion rate $Θ$ (often called Hubble flow) in relativistic heavy ion collisions in the FAIR and RHIC-BES energy regimes and compare it to the scattering rate $Γ$ using the UrQMD transport model. We observe that the time evolution of the system is clearly separated into a compression phase and an expansion phase with time dependent $Θ_\parallel$ and $Θ_\perp$. The calculated values of the Hubble expansion at kinetic decoupling are in lin…
We introduce a combined macroscopic/microscopic transport approach employing relativistic hydrodynamics for the early, dense, deconfined stage of the reaction and a microscopic non-equilibrium model for the later hadronic stage where the equilibrium assumptions are not valid anymore. Within this approach we study the dynamics of hot, bulk QCD matter, which is expected to be created in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions at the SPS, the RHIC and the LHC. Our approach is capable of self-consistently calculating the freeze-out of the hadronic system, while accounting for the collective flow o…
Using an analytical parameterization of hadronic freeze-out in relativistic heavy ion collisions, we present a detailed study of the connections between features of the freeze-out configuration and physical observables. We focus especially on anisotropic freeze-out configurations (expected in general for collisions at finite impact parameter), azimuthally-sensitive HBT interferometry, and final-state interactions between non-identical particles. Model calculations are compared with data taken in the first year of running at RHIC; while not perfect, good agreement is found, raising the hope tha…
We show that the transverse-momentum spectra of all hadrons measured at RHIC, including hyperons, are described very well in a thermal model assuming the simultaneous chemical and thermal freeze-outs. The model calculation takes into account all hadronic resonances and uses a simple parametrization of the freeze-out hypersurface.
We compute v4/(v2)^2 in ideal and viscous hydrodynamics. We investigate its sensitivity to details of the hydrodynamic model and compare the results to experimental data from RHIC. Whereas v2 has a significant sensitivity only to initial eccentricity and viscosity while being insensitive to freeze out temperature, we find that v4/(v2)^2 is quite insensitive to initial eccentricity. On the other hand, it can still be sensitive to shear viscosity in addition to freeze out temperature, although viscous effects do not universally increase v4/(v2)^2 as originally predicted. Consistent with data, we…
We present a calculation of Pi, D and B mesons production at RHIC and LHC energies based upon the KKT model of gluon saturation. We discuss dependence of the nuclear modification factor on rapidity and transverse momentum.
We perform a systematic analysis of several HBT parameters in heavy ion collisions from $E_{\rm beam}=2$ AGeV to $\sqrt {s_{\rm NN}}=200$ GeV within the UrQMD transport approach and compare the results to experimental data where available. We find that the 'lifetime' of the emission source as calculated from $τ\sim \sqrt{R_O^{2}-R_S^{2}}$, is larger than the experimentally observed values at all investigated energies. The calculated volume of the pion source ($V_f$) is found to increase monotonously with increasing beam energy and the experimentally observed decrease of the measured $V_f$ at A…
We study charge fluctuations within the statistical hadronization model. Considering both the particle yield ratios and the charge fluctuations we show that it is possible to differentiate between chemical equilibrium and non-equilibrium freeze-out conditions. As an example of the procedure we show quantitatively how the relative yield ratio $Λ/K^-$ together with the normalized net charge fluctuation $v(Q)=\ave{ΔQ^2}/\ave{\Nch}$ constrain the chemical conditions at freeze-out. We also discuss the influence of the limited detector acceptance on fluctuation measurements, and show how this can be…
I present fits with the so-called blast-wave model to single-particle spectra and HBT correlations from Au+Au collisions at a CMS energy of 130 AGeV. There is only little choice of freeze-out temperature and transverse flow velocity for which the model fits both the identified spectra and the correlation radii just well enough not to be excluded. The observed steep M_t dependence of R_side leads to a temperature which it is problematic to interpret. The applicability of the model for the freeze-out description is thus questioned.
Jet energy loss, photon production and photon-hadron correlations are studied together at high transverse momentum in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC energies. The modification of hard jets traversing a hot and dense nuclear medium is evaluated by consistently taking into account induced gluon radiation and elastic collisions. The production of high transverse momentum photons in Au+Au collisions at RHIC is calculated by incorporating a complete set of photon-production channels. Comparison with experimental photon production and photon-hadron correlation data is performed, using a (…
We use a kinetic condition to predict the chemical freeze-out parameters for hadronic species produced in heavy ion collisions. The resulting freeze-out lines for different hadrons lie close to one another in the temperature and baryochemical potential plane, defining a universal, narrow region. The chemical freeze-out is driven by the localization of hadrons due to the chiral symmetry breaking and confining aspects of the QCD transition.
This dissertation examines the phenomenology of statistical hadronization at ultrarelativistic energies. We start with an overview of current experimental and theoretical issues in Relativistic heavy ion physics. We then introduce statistical hadronization, and show how it gives a description of particle abundances and spectra through covariance and entropy maximization. We argue that a distinction can be made between equilibrated staged freeze-out in which post-formation hadron interactions play an important role in determining final-state observables, and non-equilibrium sudden freeze-out wh…
We present predictions for the formation of (anti)nuclear bound states in nucleus-nucleus reactions at RHIC energies. he phase space coalescence method is used in combination with RQMD-v2.4 transport calculations to demonstrate the relevance of particle production as well as the longitudinal and transverse flow components. The formation of deuterons follows an approximate scaling law proportional to the relative freeze-out densities of nucleons and produced secondaries. For antideuterons, an additional suppression appears that is proportional to the number of nucleons, pointing toward multiple…
The transverse momentum distributions of the identified particles produced in small collision systems at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have been analyzed by four models. The first two models utilize the blast-wave model with different statistics. The last two models employ certain linear correspondences based on different distributions. The four models describe the experimental data measured by the Pioneering High Energy Nuclear Interaction eXperiment (PHENIX), Solenoidal Tracker at RHIC (STAR), and A Large Ion Collider Experiment (ALICE) cCollabora…
An expanding fireball model with two freeze-outs, which assumes that the chemical freeze-out occurs earlier at higher temperature and the thermal freeze-out occurs later at lower temperature, is developed and successfully applied to fit simultaneously the hadron ratios, transverse momentum spectra of measured hadrons and rapidity distribution of charged hadrons measured in Au+Au collision at 200 A$\cdot$GeV by STAR, PHENIX and PHOBOS collaborations. The quality of all the fittings is very good and the resulting parameters are in agreement with published values.
We analyze the hadronic freeze-out in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions at RHIC in a transport approach which combines hydrodynamics for the early, dense, deconfined stage of the reaction with a microscopic non-equilibrium model for the later hadronic stage at which the hydrodynamic equilibrium assumptions are not valid. With this ansatz we are able to self-consistently calculate the freeze-out of the system and determine space-time hypersurfaces for individual hadron species. The space-time domains of the freeze-out for several hadron species are found to be actually four-dimensional, a…
We study the chemical freeze-out dynamics of strange particles ($K,\, Λ,\, Σ$) from a homogeneous and isotropically expanding hadronic system of $π, K, ρ, N, Λ$ and $Σ$ with zero net baryon density. We use the momentum integrated Boltzmann equation and study their evolution over the bulk hadronic matter, a condition being similar to the one created at top RHIC and LHC energies. The cross-sections, which are input to the equations, are taken either from phenomenological models or parameterized by comparing against experimental data. From this microscopic calculation we find that these strange p…
In this paper, we investigate the kinetic freeze-out properties in relativistic heavy ion collisions at different collision energies. We present a study of standard Boltzmann-Gibbs Blast-Wave (BGBW) fits and Tsallis Blast-Wave (TBW) fits performed on the transverse momentum spectra of identified hadrons produced in Au + Au collisions at collision energies of $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}=$ 7.7 - 200 GeV at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), and in Pb + Pb collisions at collision energies of $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}=$ 2.76 and 5.02 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The behavior of strange and m…
We analyze hadrochemical freeze-out in central Pb+Pb collisions at CERN SPS energies, employing the hybrid version of the Ultrarelativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics model, which describes the transition from a hydrodynamic stage to hadrons by the Cooper-Frye mechanism, and matches to a final hadron-resonance cascade. We fit the results both before and after the cascade stage using the Statistical Model, to assess the effect of the cascade phase. We observe a strong effect on antibaryon yields except anti-Omega, resulting in a shift in T and mu_B of the freeze-out curve. We discuss indication…
Transverse momentum spectra of negative and positive pions produced at mid-(pseudo)rapidity in inelastic or non-single-diffractive proton-proton collisions and in central nucleus-nucleus collisions over an energy range from a few GeV to above 10 TeV are analyzed by a (two-component) blast-wave model with Boltzmann-Gibbs statistics and with Tsallis statistics respectively. The model results are in similarly well agreement with the experimental data measured by a few productive collaborations who work at the Heavy Ion Synchrotron (SIS), Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS), Relativistic Heavy Ion Coll…
We analyze hadrochemical freeze-out in central Pb+Pb collisions at CERN SPS and LHC energies. Employing the UrQMD hybrid transport model we study the effects of the final hadron/resonance expansion phase on the hadron multiplicities established at hadronization. The bulk meson yields freeze out directly at hadronization whereas the baryon-antibaryon sector is subject to significant alterations, due to annihilation and regeneration processes. We quantify the latter changes by survival factors for each species which are applied to modify the statistical model predictions for the data. The modifi…
A 1+3 dimensional solution of relativistic hydrodynamics is analyzed in this paper. Momentum distribution and other observables are calculated from the solution and compared to hadronic measurements from the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The solution is compatible with the data, but only the freeze-out point of the evolution is determined. Many equation of states and initial states (initial temperatures) are valid with the same freeze-out distribution, thus the same hadronic observables. The observable that would distinguish between these initial temperatures is momentum distribution…
We present the status of the chemical freeze-out, determined from fits of hadron yields with the statistical hadronization (thermal) model, with focus on the data at the LHC. A description of the yields of hadrons containing light quarks as well as the application of the model for the production of the J/$ψ$ meson is presented. The implications for the QCD phase diagram are discussed.
We confront the hypothesis of chemical freeze-out in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions with the hypothesis of large modifications of hadron masses in nuclear medium. We find that the thermal-model predictions for the ratios of particle multiplicities are sensitive to the values of in-medium hadronic masses. In particular, the $π^+/p$ ratio decreases by 35% when the masses of all hadrons (except for pseudo-Goldstone bosons) are scaled down by 30%.
Fluctuation measurements of hadron yields at heavy-ion collisions can reproduce the phase transition parameters of QCD matter. The fluctuation results produce accurate parameters near zero baryonic chemical potential($μ_B$) being very sensitive in that region. In this work, using the Hadron Resonance Gas Model(HRG), we determine the freeze-out temperatures of the hadrons using individual fluctuation results and find that sequential freeze-out of hadrons during the QCD phase transition near zero $μ_B$ is dependent on the mass of produced hadronic species. Using recently published results of net…
We introduce a transport approach which combines partonic and hadronic degrees of freedom on an equal footing and discuss the resulting reaction dynamics. The initial parton dynamics is modeled in the framework of the parton cascade model, hadronization is performed via a cluster hadronization model and configuration space coalescence, and the hadronic phase is described by a microscopic hadronic transport approach. The resulting reaction dynamics indicates a strong influence of hadronic rescattering on the space-time pattern of hadronic freeze-out and on the shape of transverse mass spectra. …
