The Cayley-Hamilton-Newton theorem - which underlies the Newton identities and the Cayley-Hamilton identity - is reviewed, first, for the classical matrices with commuting entries, second, for two q-matrix algebras, the RTT-algebra and the RLRL-algebra. The Cayley-Hamilton-Newton identities for these q-algebras are related by the factorization map. A class of algebras M(R,F) is presented. The algebras M(R,F) include the RTT-algebra and the RLRL-algebra as particular cases. The algebra M(R,F) is defined by a pair of compatible matrices R and F. The Cayley-Hamilton-Newton theorem for the algebras M(R,F) is stated. A nontrivial example of a compatible pair is given.
We construct a wide class of finite W-algebras as truncations of Yangians. These truncations correspond to algebra homomorphisms and allow to construct the W-algebras as exchange algebras, the R-matrix being the Yangian's one. As an application, we classify all irreducible finite dimensionnal representations of these W-algebras and determine their center.
In this note we are dealing with a particular class of quadratic algebras -- the so-called quantum matrix algebras. The well-known examples are the algebras of quantized functions on classical Lie groups (the RTT algebras). We consider the problem of constructing some projectors on homogenous components of such algebras, which are analogs of the usual symmetrizers. The main objective of this note is to present a method, which hopefully enables one to construct symmetrizers on all homogenous components of the RTT algebras. We illustrate the construction by two low-dimensional examples. A way of…
We discuss the recent proposal of arXiv:1608.05351 about generalization of the RTT relation to network matrix models. We show that the RTT relation in these models is modified by a nontrivial, but essentially abelian anomaly cocycle, which we explicitly evaluate for the free field representations of the quantum toroidal algebra. This cocycle is responsible for the braiding, which permutes the external legs in the q-deformed conformal block and its 5d/6d gauge theory counterpart, i.e. the non-perturbative Nekrasov functions. Thus, it defines their modular properties and symmetry. We show how to…
The q-generalizations of the two fundamental statements of matrix algebra -- the Cayley-Hamilton theorem and the Newton relations -- to the cases of quantum matrix algebras of an "RTT-" and of a "Reflection equation" types have been obtained in [2]-[6]. We construct a family of matrix identities which we call Cayley-Hamilton-Newton identities and which underlie the characteristic identity as well as the Newton relations for the RTT- and Reflection equation algebras, in the sence that both the characteristic identity and the Newton relations are direct consequences of the Cayley-Hamilton-Newton…
The universal R-matrices and, dually, the coquasitriangular structures of the group Hopf algebra of a finite Abelian group (resp. of an arbitrary Abelian group) are determined. This is used to formulate graded multilinear algebra in terms of triangular or cotriangular Hopf algebras. For the convenience of the reader, in a separate section the definitions and basic properties of quasitriangular and coquasitriangular Hopf algebras are recalled.
The Cayley-Hamilton-Newton identities which generalize both the characteristic identity and the Newton relations have been recently obtained for the algebras of the RTT-type. We extend this result to a wider class of algebras M(R,F) defined by a pair of compatible solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation. This class includes the RTT-algebras as well as the Reflection equation algebras.
Yangian-like algebras, associated with current R-matrices, different from the Yang ones, are introduced. These algebras are of two types. The so-called braided Yangians are close to the Reflection Equation algebras, arising from involutive or Hecke symmetries. The Yangians of RTT type are close to the corresponding RTT algebras. Some properties of these two classes of the Yangians are studied. Thus, evaluation morphisms for them are constructed, their bi-algebra structures are described, and quantum analogs of certain symmetric polynomials, in particular, quantum determinants, are introduced. …
R-matrix is explicitly constructed for simplest representations of the Ding-Iohara-Miki algebra. The calculation is straightforward and significantly simpler than the one through the universal R-matrix used for a similar calculation in the Yangian case by A.~Smirnov but less general. We investigate the interplay between the R-matrix structure and the structure of DIM algebra intertwiners, i.e.\ of refined topological vertices and show that the R-matrix is diagonalized by the action of the spectral duality belonging to the SL(2,Z) group of DIM algebra automorphisms. We also construct the T-oper…
We propose an operadic framework suitable for describing algebraic structures with operations being multilinear differential operators of varying orders or, more generally, formal series of such operators. The framework is built upon the notion of a multifiltration of a linear operad generalizing the concept of a filtration of an associative algebra. We describe a particular way of constructing and analyzing multifiltrations based on a presentation of a linear operad in terms of generators and relations. In particular, that allows us to observe a special role played in this context by Lie, Lie…
We give a description of the connected graded algebras which are finitely generated and presented of global dimension 2 or 3 and which are Gorenstein. These algebras are constructed from multilinear forms. We generalize the construction by associating homogeneous algebras to multilinear forms. The homogeneous algebras which are Koszul of finite global dimension and which are Gorenstein are of this type.
In this paper we investigate the class of the connected graded algebras which are finitely generated in degree 1, which are finitely presented with relations of degrees greater or equal to 2 and which are of finite global dimension D and Gorenstein. For D greater or equal to 4 we add the condition that these algebras are homogeneous and Koszul. It is shown that each such algebra is completely characterized by a multilinear form satisfying a twisted cyclicity condition and some other nondegeneracy conditions depending on the global dimension D. This multilinear form plays the role of a volume f…
In the framework of the Drinfeld theory of twists in Hopf algebras we construct quantum matrix algebras which generalize the Reflection Equation and the RTT algebras. Finite-dimensional representations of these algebras related to the theory of nonultralocal spin chains are presented. The Cayley-Hamilton-Newton identities are demonstrated. These identities allow to define the quantum spectrum for the quantum matrices. We mention possible applications of the new quantum matrix algebras to constructions of noncommutative analogs of Minkowski space and quantum Poincaré algebras.
A completely positive linear map $φ$ from a C*-algebra $A$ into $B(H)$ has a Stinespring representation as $φ(a) = X^*π(a)X,$ where $π$ is a *-representation of $A$ on a Hilbert space $K$ and $X$ is a bounded operator from $H$ to $K. $ Completely bounded multilinear operators on C*-algebras as well as some densely defined multilinear operators in Connes' non commutative geometry also have Stinespring representations of the form $$ Φ(a_1, \dots, a_k ) = X_0π_1(a_1)X_1 \dots π_k(a_k)X_k$$ such that each $a_i$ is in a *-algebra $A_i$ and $X_0, \dots X_k $ are densely defined closed operators betw…
We prove how the Yangian of $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ in its RTT presentation and Olshanski's twisted Yangians for the orthogonal and symplectic Lie algebras can be obtained by a degeneration process from the corresponding quantum loop algebra and some of its twisted analogues.
The notion of compatible braidings was introduced by Isaev, Ogievetsky and Pyatov. On the base of this notion they defined certain quantum matrix algebras generalizing the RTT algebras and Reflection Equation ones. They also defined analogs of some symmetric polynomials in these algebras and showed that these polynomials generate commutative subalgebras, called Bethe. By using a similar approach we introduce certain new algebras called generalized Yangians and define analogs of some symmetric polynomials in these algebras. We claim that they commute with each other and thus generate a commutat…
In general, quantum matrix algebras are associated with a couple of compatible braidings. A particular example of such an algebra is the so-called Reflection Equation algebra. In this paper we analyse its specific properties, which distinguish it from other quantum matrix algebras (in first turn, from the RTT one). Thus, we exhibit a specific form of the Cayley-Hamilton identity for its generating matrix, which in a limit turns into the Cayley-Hamilton identity for the generating matrix of the enveloping algebra U(gl(m)). Also, we consider some specific properties of the braided Yangians, rece…
We generalize the coupled braces {x}{y} of Gerstenhaber and {x}{y,...,z} of Getzler depicting compositions of multilinear maps in the Hochschild complex C(A)=Hom(TA;A) of a graded vector space A to expressions of the form {x,...,y}...{z,...,w} on the extended space Hom(TA;TA), and clarify many of the existing sign conventions that show up in the algebra of mathematical physics (namely in associative and Lie algebras, Batalin-Vilkovisky algebras, homotopy associative and homotopy Lie algebras). As a result, we introduce a new variant of the master identity for homotopy Lie algebras. We also com…
We propose a new approach to the spinor-spinor R-matrix with orthogonal and symplectic symmetry. Based on this approach and the fusion method we relate the spinor-vector and vector-vector monodromy matrices for quantum spin chains. We consider the explicit spinor R matrices of low rank orthogonal algebras and the corresponding RTT algebras. Coincidences with fundamental R matrices allow to relate the Algebraic Bethe Ansatz for spinor and vector monodromy matrices.
In this paper we build an abstract description of vertex algebras from their basic axioms. Starting with Borcherds' notion of a vertex group, we naturally construct a family of multilinear singular maps parameterised by trees. These singular maps are defined in a way which focusses on the relations of singularities to their inputs. In particular we show that this description of a vertex algebra allows us to present generalised notions of rationality, commutativity and associativity as natural consequences of the definition. Finally, we show that for a certain choice of vertex group, axiomatic …
