Let G be a finite dimensional simple complex group equipped with the standard Poisson Lie group structure. We show that all G-homogeneous (holomorphic) Poisson structures on $G/H$, where $H \subset G$ is a Cartan subgroup, come from solutions to the Classical Dynamical Yang-Baxter equations which are classified by Etingof and Varchenko. A similar result holds for the maximal compact subgroup K, and we get a family of K-homogeneous Poisson structures on $K/T$, where $T = K \cap H$ is a maximal torus of K. This family exhausts all K-homogeneous Poisson structures on $K/T$ up to isomorphisms. We study some Poisson geometrical properties of members of this family such as their symplectic leaves, their modular classes, and the moment maps for the T-action.
We prove that any holomorphic Poisson manifold has an open symplectic leaf which is a pseudo-Kähler submanifold, and we define an obstruction to study the equivariance of momentum map for tangential Poisson action. Some properties of almost homogeneous Poisson manifolds are studied and we show that any compact symplectic Poisson homogeneous space is a torus bundle over a dressing orbit.
We generalize the notion of weight for Gelfan'd-Fuks cohomology theory of symplectic vector spaces to the homogeneous Poisson vector spaces, and try some combinatorial approach to Poisson cohomology groups.
We study a reduction procedure for describing the symplectic groupoid of a Poisson homogeneous space obtained by quotient of a coisotropic subgroup. We perform it as a reduction of the Lu-Weinstein symplectic groupoid integrating Poisson Lie groups, that is suitable even for the non complete case.
We calculate, in a relatively explicit way, the Hamiltonian systems which arise from the Evens-Lu construction of homogeneous Poisson structures on both compact and noncompact type symmetric spaces. A corollary is that the Hamiltonian system arising in the noncompact case is isomorphic to the generic Hamiltonian system arising in the compact case. In the group case these systems are also isomorphic to those arising from the Bruhat Poisson structure on the flag space, and hence, by results of Lu, can be completely factored.
Symplectic manifolds which are homogeneous spaces of Poisson-Lie groups are studied in this paper. We show that these spaces are, under certain assumptions, covering spaces of dressing orbits of the Poisson-Lie groups which act on them. The effect of the Poisson induction procedure on such spaces is also examined, thus leading to an interesting generalization of the notion of homogeneous space. Some examples of homogeneous spaces of Poisson-Lie groups are discussed in the light of the previous results.
We identify the cotangent bundle Lie algebroid of a Poisson homogeneous space G/H of a Poisson Lie group G as a quotient of a transformation Lie algebroid over G. As applications, we describe the modular vector fields of G/H, and we identify the Poisson cohomology of G/H with coefficients in powers of its canonical line bundle with relative Lie algebra cohomology of the Drinfeld Lie algebra associated to G/H. We also construct a Poisson groupoid over G/H which is symplectic near the identity section. This note serves as preparation for forthcoming papers, in which we will compute explicitly th…
The notion of homogeneous tensors is discussed. We show that there is a one-to-one correspondence between multivector fields on a manifold $M$, homogeneous with respect to a vector field $Δ$ on $M$, and first-order polydifferential operators on a closed submanifold $N$ of codimension 1 such that $Δ$ is transversal to $N$. This correspondence relates the Schouten-Nijenhuis bracket of multivector fields on $M$ to the Schouten-Jacobi bracket of first-order polydifferential operators on $N$ and generalizes the Poissonization of Jacobi manifolds. Actually, it can be viewed as a super-Poissonization…
Given a classical $r$-matrix on a Poisson algebra, we show how to construct a natural family of compatible Poisson structures for the Hamiltonian formulation of Lax equations. Examples for which our formalism applies include the Benny hierachy, the dispersionless Toda lattice hierachy, the dispersionless KP and modified KP hierachies, the dispersionless Dym hierachy etc.
For a compact Poisson-Lie group $K$, the homogeneous space $K/T$ carries a family of symplectic forms $ω_ξ^s$, where $ξ\in \mathfrak{t}^*_+$ is in the positive Weyl chamber and $s \in \mathbb{R}$. The symplectic form $ω_ξ^0$ is identified with the natural $K$-invariant symplectic form on the $K$ coadjoint orbit corresponding to $ξ$. The cohomology class of $ω_ξ^s$ is independent of $s$ for a fixed value of $ξ$. In this paper, we show that as $s\to -\infty$, the symplectic volume of $ω_ξ^s$ concentrates in arbitrarily small neighbourhoods of the smallest Schubert cell in $K/T \cong G/B$. This s…
Using tools from Dirac geometry and through an explicit construction, we show that every Poisson homogeneous space of any Poisson Lie group admits an integration to a symplectic groupoid. Our theorem follows from a more general result which relates, for a principal bundle $M\to M/H$, integrations of a Dirac structure on $M/H$ to $H$-admissible integrations of its pullback Dirac structure on $M$ by pre-symplectic groupoids. Our construction gives a distinguished class of explicit real or holomorphic pre-symplectic and symplectic groupoids over semi-simple Lie groups and some of their homogeneou…
We study the integrability of Poisson and Dirac structures that arise from quotient constructions. From our results we deduce several classical results as well as new applications. We also give explicit constructions of Lie groupoids integrating two interesting families of geometric structures: (i) a special class of Poisson homogeneous spaces of symplectic groupoids integrating Poisson groups and (ii) Dirac homogeneous spaces.
This paper is a sequel to [Caine A., Pickrell D., arXiv:0710.4484], where we studied the Hamiltonian systems which arise from the Evens-Lu construction of homogeneous Poisson structures on both compact and noncompact type symmetric spaces. In this paper we consider loop space analogues. Many of the results extend in a relatively routine way to the loop space setting, but new issues emerge. The main point of this paper is to spell out the meaning of the results, especially in the SU(2) case. Applications include integral formulas and factorizations for Toeplitz determinants.
We point out, and draw some consequences of, the fact that the Poisson Lie group G* dual to G=GL_n(C) (with its standard complex Poisson structure) may be identified with a certain moduli space of meromorphic connections on the unit disc having an irregular singularity at the origin. The Riemann-Hilbert map for such connections, taking the Stokes data, induces a holomorphic map from the dual of the Lie algebra of G to the Poisson Lie group G*. The main result is that this map is Poisson. First this leads to new, more direct, proofs of theorems of Duistermaat and Ginzburg-Weinstein (enabling on…

We provide a general study for triangular dynamical r-matrices using Poisson geometry. We show that a triangular dynamical r-matrix always gives rise to a regular Poisson manifold. Using the Fedosov method, we prove that non-degenerate (i.e., the corresponding Poisson manifolds are symplectic) triangular dynamical r-matrices (over $ \frakh^* $ and valued in $\wedge^{2}\frakg$) are quantizable, and the quantization is classified by the relative Lie algebra cohomology $H^{2}(\frakg, \frakh)[[\hbar ]]$. We also generalize this quantization method to splittable triangular dynamical r-matrices, whi…
The graph complex acts on the spaces of Poisson bi-vectors $P$ by infinitesimal symmetries. We prove that whenever a Poisson structure is homogeneous, i.e. $P = L_{\vec{V}}(P)$ w.r.t. the Lie derivative along some vector field $\vec{V}$, but not quadratic (the coefficients of $P$ are not degree-two homogeneous polynomials), and whenever its velocity bi-vector $\dot{P}=Q(P)$, also homogeneous w.r.t. $\vec{V}$ by $L_{\vec{V}}(Q)=n\cdot Q$ whenever $Q(P)= Or(γ)(P^{\otimes^n})$ is obtained using the orientation morphism $Or$ from a graph cocycle $γ$ on $n$ vertices and $2n-2$ edges in each term, t…
We generalize Poisson-Nijenhuis structures. We prove that on a manifold endowed with a Nijenhuis tensor and a Jacobi structure which are compatible, there is a hierarchy of pairwise compatible Jacobi structures. Furthermore, we study the homogeneous Poisson-Nijenhuis structures and their relations with Jacobi structures.
Dirac submanifolds are a natural generalization in the Poisson category for symplectic submanifolds of a symplectic manifold. In a certain sense they correspond to symplectic subgroupoids of the symplectic groupoid of the given Poisson manifold. In particular, Dirac submanifolds arise as the stable locus of a Poisson involution. In this paper, we provide a general study for these submanifolds including both local and global aspects. In the second part of the paper, we study Poisson involutions and the induced Poisson structures on their stable locuses. We discuss the Poisson involutions on a s…
Classical limits of quantum groups give rise to multiplicative Poisson structures such as Poisson-Lie and quasi-Poisson structures. We relate them to the notion of a shifted Poisson structure which gives a conceptual framework for understanding classical (dynamical) $r$-matrices, quasi-Poisson groupoids and so on. We also propose a notion of a symplectic realization of shifted Poisson structures and show that Manin pairs and Manin triples give examples of such.
