Quillen stratification for the Steenrod algebra

Let A be the mod 2 Steenrod algebra, and let Q denote the category of exterior sub-Hopf algebras of A, where the morphisms are given by inclusions. The restriction maps Ext_A (Z/2,Z/2) --> Ext_E (Z/2,Z/2), for E in Q, can be assembled into a map i:Ext_A (Z/2, Z/2) --> lim_Q Ext_E (Z/2,Z/2). There is an action of A on this inverse limit, and i factors through the invariants under this action, giving a map g:Ext_A (Z/2, Z/2) --> ( lim_Q Ext_E (Z/2,Z/2) )^A. We show that g is an F-isomorphism.

Realizing coalgebras over the Steenrod algebra

We describe algebraic obstruction theories for realizing an abstract coalgebra K_* over the mod p Steenrod algebra as the homology of a topological space, and for distinguishing between the p-homotopy types of different realizations. Stratification and duality for homotopical groups

We generalize Quillen's $F$-isomorphism theorem, Quillen's stratification theorem, the stable transfer, and the finite generation of cohomology rings from finite groups to homotopical groups. As a consequence, we show that the category of module spectra over $C^*(B\mathcal{G},\mathbb{F}_p)$ is stratified and costratified for a large class of $p$-local compact groups $\mathcal{G}$ including compact Lie groups, connected $p$-compact groups, and $p$-local finite groups, thereby giving a support-theoretic classification of all localizing and colocalizing subcategories of this category. On the cohomology of highly connected covers of finite complexes

Lannes's $T$-functor and equivariant Chow rings

For $X$ a smooth scheme acted on by a linear algebraic group $G$ and $p$ a prime, the equivariant Chow ring $CH^*_G(X)\otimes \mathbb{F}_p$ is an unstable algebra over the Steenrod algebra. We compute Lannes's $T$-functor applied to $CH^*_G(X)\otimes \mathbb{F}_p$. As an application, we compute the localization of $CH^*_G(X)\otimes \mathbb{F}_p$ away from $n$-nilpotent modules over the Steenrod algebra, affirming a conjecture of Totaro as a special case. Adams filtration and generalized Hurewicz maps for infinite loopspaces

We study the Hurewicz map h from the homotopy groups of a spectrum X to the R-homology of its 0th space X(0), where R is a connective commutative S-algebra. We prove that the decreasing filtration of the domain of h associated to an R-based Adams resolution is compatible with the augmentation ideal filtration of the range associated to the suspension spectrum of X(0)_+, an augmented commutative S-algebra.
