$GL_h(n) \times GL_{h'}(m)$-covariant (hh')-bosonic (or (hh')-fermionic) algebras ${\cal A}_{hh'\pm}(n,m)$ are built in terms of the corresponding R_h and $R_{h'}$-matrices by contracting the $GL_q(n) \times GL_{q^{\pm1}}(m)$-covariant q-bosonic (or q-fermionic) algebras ${\cal A}^{(α)}_{q\pm}(n,m)$, $α= 1, 2$. When using a basis of ${\cal A}^{(α)}_{q\pm}(n,m)$ wherein the annihilation operators are contragredient to the creation ones, this contraction procedure can be carried out for any n, m values. When employing instead a basis wherein the annihilation operators, as the creation ones, are irreducible tensor operators with respect to the dual quantum algebra $U_q(gl(n)) \otimes U_{q^{\pm1}}(gl(m))$, a contraction limit only exists for $n, m \in \{1, 2, 4, 6, ...\}$. For n=2, m=1, and n=m=2, the resulting relations can be expressed in terms of coupled (anti)commutators (as in the classical case), by using $U_h(sl(2))$ (instead of sl(2)) Clebsch-Gordan coefficients. Some U_h(sl(2)) rank-1/2 irreducible tensor operators, recently constructed by Aizawa, are shown to provide a realization of ${\cal A}_{h\pm}(2,1)$.
$GL_h(n) \times GL_h(m)$-covariant $h$-bosonic algebras are built by contracting the $GL_q(n) \times GL_q(m)$-covariant $q$-bosonic algebras considered by the present author some years ago. Their defining relations are written in terms of the corresponding $R_h$-matrices. Whenever $n=2$, and $m=1$ or 2, it is proved by using U_h(sl(2)) Clebsch-Gordan coefficients that they can also be expressed in terms of coupled commutators in a way entirely similar to the classical case. Some U_h(sl(2)) rank-1/2 irreducible tensor operators, recently contructed by Aizawa in terms of standard bosonic operato…
The $D$-dimensional $(β, β')$-two-parameter deformed algebra introduced by Kempf is generalized to a Lorentz-covariant algebra describing a ($D+1$)-dimensional quantized space-time. In the D=3 and $β=0$ case, the latter reproduces Snyder algebra. The deformed Poincaré transformations leaving the algebra invariant are identified. It is shown that there exists a nonzero minimal uncertainty in position (minimal length). The Dirac oscillator in a 1+1-dimensional space-time described by such an algebra is studied in the case where $β'=0$. Extending supersymmetric quantum mechanical and shape-invari…
We describe the deformed covariant phase space corresponding to the so-called kappa-deformation of D=4 relativistic symmetries, with quantum ``time'' coordinate and Heisenberg algebra obtained according to the Heisenberg double construction. The associated modified uncertainty relations are analyzed, and in particular it is shown that these relations are consistent with independent estimates of quantum-gravity limitations on the measurability of space-time distances.
A family of deformed Hopf algebras corresponding to the classical maximal isometry algebras of zero-curvature N-dimensional spaces (the inhomogeneous algebras iso(p,q), p+q=N, as well as some of their contractions) are shown to have a bicrossproduct structure. This is done for both the algebra and, in a low-dimensional example, for the (dual) group aspects of the deformation.
In this paper the coherent state for $gl_q(n)$-covariant oscillators is constructed and is shown to satisfy the completeness relation. And the q-analogue of quantum mechanics in n dimensions is obtained by using $gl_q(n)$ oscillators.
We show that the maximal extension sl(2) times psl(2|2) times C3 of the sl(2|2) superalgebra can be obtained as a contraction limit of the semi-simple superalgebra d(2,1;epsilon) times sl(2). We reproduce earlier results on the corresponding q-deformed Hopf algebra and its universal R-matrix by means of contraction. We make the curious observation that the above algebra is related to kappa-Poincaré symmetry. When dropping the graded part psl(2|2) we find a novel one-parameter deformation of the 3D kappa-Poincaré algebra. Our construction also provides a concise exact expression for its univers…
We construct (anti)instanton solutions of a would-be q-deformed su(2) Yang-Mills theory on the quantum Euclidean space R_q^4 [the SO_q(4)-covariant noncommutative space] by reinterpreting the function algebra on the latter as a q-quaternion bialgebra. Since the (anti)selfduality equations are covariant under the quantum group of deformed rotations, translations and scale change, by applying the latter we can generate new solutions from the one centered at the origin and with unit size. We also construct multi-instanton solutions. As they depend on noncommuting parameters playing the roles of `…
Given M copies of a q-deformed Weyl or Clifford algebra in the defining representation of a quantum group $G_q$, we determine a prescription to embed them into a unique, inclusive $G_q$-covariant algebra. The different copies are "coupled" to each other and are naturally ordered into a "chain". In the case $G_q=SL_q(N)$ a modified prescription yields an inclusive algebra which is even explicitly $SL_q(M) X SL_q(N)$-covariant, where $SL_q(M)$ is a symmetry relating the different copies. By the introduction of these inclusive algebrae we significantly enlarge the class of $G_q$-covariant deforme…
Using the Hecke $\hat R$-matrix, we give a definition of the lattice $(l,q)$-deformed $n$-component boson and Grassmann fields. Here $l$ is a deformation parameter for the commutation relations of "values" of these fields in two arbitrary lattice sites and $q$ is a deformation parameter for $n$-component $q$-boson or $q$-Grassmann variable. In framework of the Wess-Zumino approach to the noncommutative differential calculus the commutation relations between differentials and derivatives of these fields are determined. The $SL_q(n,C)$-invariant generalization of the Berezin integration for the …
Any deformation of a Weyl or Clifford algebra can be realized through some change of generators in the undeformed algebra. Here we briefly describe and motivate our systematic procedure for constructing all such changes of generators for those particular deformations where the original algebra is covariant undersome Lie group and the deformed algebra is covariant under the corresponding quantum group.
A unitary orthosymplectic quantum supergroup is introduced. Two covariant differential calculi on the quantum superspace $SP_q^{1|2}$ are presented. The $h$-deformed symplectic superspaces via a contraction of the $q$-deformed symplectic superspaces are obtained. A new $h$-deformation of the Heisenberg superalgebra is given.
The deformed double covering of E(2) group, denoted by $\tilde{E}_κ(2)$, is obtained by contraction from the $SU_μ(2)$. The contraction procedure is then used for producing a new examples of differential calculi: 3D-left covariant calculus on both $\tilde{E}_κ(2)$ and the deformed Euclidean group $E_κ(2)$ and two different 4D-bicovariant calculi on $\tilde{E}_κ(2)$ which correspond to the one 4D-bicovariant calculi on $E_κ(2)$ described in Ref.\cite{b14}.
In this paper, we introduce an $N\times N$ matrix $ε^{a\bar{b}}$ in the quantum groups $SU_{q}(N)$ to transform the conjugate representation into the standard form so that we are able to compute the explicit forms of the important quantities in the bicovariant differential calculus on $SU_{q}(N)$, such as the $q$-deformed structure constant ${\bf C}_{IJ}^{~K}$ and the $q$-deformed transposition operator $Λ$. From the $q$-gauge covariant condition we define the generalized $q$-deformed Killing form and the $m$-th $q$-deformed Chern class $P_{m}$ for the quantum groups $SU_{q}(N)$. Some useful r…
We have recently introduced the notion of a q-quaternion bialgebra and shown its strict link with the SO_q(4)-covariant quantum Euclidean space R_q^4. Adopting the available differential geometric tools on the latter and the quaternion language we have formulated and found solutions of the (anti)selfduality equation [instantons and multi-instantons] of a would-be deformed su(2) Yang-Mills theory on this quantum space. The solutions depend on some noncommuting parameters, indicating that the moduli space of a complete theory should be a noncommutative manifold. We summarize these results and ad…
The $R_h^{j_1;j_2}$ matrices of the Jordanian U$_h$(sl(2)) algebra at arbitrary dimensions may be obtained from the corresponding $R_q^{j_1;j_2}$ matrices of the standard $q$-deformed U$_q$(sl(2)) algebra through a contraction technique. By extending this method, the coloured two-parametric ($h, α$) Jordanian $R_{h,α}^{j_1,z_1;j_2,z_2}$ matrices of the U$_{h,α}$(gl(2)) algebra may be derived from the corresponding coloured $R_{q,λ}^{j_1,z_1;j_2,z_2}$ matrices of the standard ($q, λ$)-deformed U$_{q,λ}$(gl(2)) algebra. Moreover, by using the contraction process as a tool, the coloured $T_{h,α}^…
We construct quantum commutators on module-algebras of quasi-triangular Hopf algebras. These are quantum-group covariant, and have generalized antisymmetry and Leibniz properties. If the Hopf algebra is triangular they additionally satisfy a generalized Jacobi identity, turning the module-algebra into a quantum-Lie algebra.
We re-examine all the contractions related with the ${\cal U}_q(su(2))$ deformed algebra and study the consequences that the contraction process has for their structure. We also show using ${\cal U}_q(su(2))\times{\cal U}(u(1))$ as an example that, as in the undeformed case, the contraction may generate Hopf algebra cohomology. We shall show that most of the different Hopf algebra deformations obtained have a bicrossproduct or a cocycle bicrossproduct structure, for which we shall also give their dual `group' versions. The bicovariant differential calculi on the deformed spaces associated with…
A covariant - tensor method for $SU(2)_{q}$ is described. This tensor method is used to calculate q - deformed Clebsch - Gordan coefficients. The connection with covariant oscillators and irreducible tensor operators is established. This approach can be extended to other quantum groups.
A new derivation of the quantum deformation of the 2 dimensional Euclidean Poincare group (cf S. Zakrzewski) is proposed. It is based on a contraction of the Hopf algebra Fun(SO_q(3)). The deformation parameter q is sent to one, as in the construction of the $κ$-Poincare deformed algebra. The quantum group obtained is dual to that algebra.
In this paper we introduce the classical and quantum covariant Weil algebras. Covariant Weil algebras are simultaneous generalizations of Weil algebras and family algebras. We will define differentials, Lie derivatives and contractions on them to make them curved-dg algebras. Moreover, the expression of curvatures will be given. It is hoped that covariant Weil algebras can be used in the construction of Mackey's analogue.
The various relations between $q$-deformed oscillators algebras and the $q$-deformed $su(2)$ algebras are discussed. In particular, we exhibit the similarity of the $q$-deformed $su(2)$ algebra obtained from $q$-oscillators via Schwinger construction and those obtained from $q$-Holstein-Primakoff transformation and show how the relation between $su_{\sqrt{q}}(2)$ and Hong Yan $q$-oscillator can be regarded as an special case of Inöuë- Wigner contraction. This latter observation and the imposition of positive norm requirement suggest that Hong-Yan $q$-oscillator algebra is different from the us…
The covariant descripion is constructed for the Wick-type symbols on symplectic manifolds by means of the Fedosov procedure. The geometry of the manifolds admitting this symbol is explored. The superextended version of the Wick-type star-product is introduced and a possible application of the construction to the noncommutative field theory is discussed.
Several Clifford algebras that are covariant under the action of a Lie algebra $g$ can be deformed in a way consistent with the deformation of $Ug$ into a quantum group (or into a triangular Hopf algebra) $U_qg$, i.e. so as to remain covariant under the action of $U_qg$. In this report, after recalling these facts, we review our results regarding the formal realization of the elements of such ``q-deformed'' Clifford algebras as ``functions'' (polynomials) in the generators of the undeformed ones; in particular, the intruiging interplay between the original and the q-deformed symmetry. Finally,…
The kappa-deformed dual pair of Poincare algebra and Poincare group is formulated in the framework of Heisenberg doubles. The covariant kappa-deformed phase space is described in detail as a subalgebra. The realizations of proposed algebraic scheme are considered.
The physical interpretation of the main notions of the quantum group theory (coproduct, representations and corepresentations, action and coaction) is discussed using the simplest examples of $q$-deformed objects (quantum group $F_q(GL(2))$, quantum algebra $sl_q(2)$, $q$-oscillator and $F_q$-covariant algebra.) Appropriate reductions of the covariant algebra of second rank $q$-tensors give rise to the algebras of the $q$-oscillator and the $q$-sphere. A special covariant algebra related to the reflection equation corresponds to the braid group in a space with nontrivial topology.
The $\hatκ$-deformed extended Galilei Hopf group algebra, ${\rm Fun}_{\hatκ}(\tilde G_{(m)})$, is introduced. It provides an example of a cocycle bicrossproduct structure, and is shown to be the contraction limit of a pseudoextension of the $κ$-Poincaré group algebra. The possibility of obtaining another deformed extended Galilei groups is discussed, including one obtained from a non-standard Poincaré deformation.
Covariance ties the noncommutative deformation of a space into a quantum space closely to the deformation of the symmetry into a quantum symmetry. Quantum deformations of enveloping algebras are governed by Drinfeld twists, inner automorphisms which relate the deformed to the undeformed coproduct. While Drinfeld twists naturally define a covariant star product on the space algebra, this product is in general not associative and does not yield a quantum space. It is reported that, nevertheless, there are certain Drinfeld twists which realize the quantum plane, quantum Euclidean 4-space, and qua…
We consider the possible covariant external algebra structures for Cartan's 1-forms on GL_q(N) and SL_q(N). We base upon the following natural postulates: 1. the invariant 1-forms realize an adjoint representation of quantum group; 2. all monomials of these forms possess the unique ordering. For the obtained external algebras we define the exterior derivative possessing the usual nilpotence condition, and the generally deformed version of Leibniz rules. The status of the known examples of GL_q(N)-differential calculi in the proposed classification scheme, and the problems of SL_q(N)-reduction …
Gauge theory on the q-deformed two-dimensional Euclidean plane R^2_q is studied using two different approaches. We first formulate the theory using the natural algebraic structures on R^2_q, such as a covariant differential calculus, a frame of one-forms and invariant integration. We then consider a suitable star product, and introduce a natural way to implement the Seiberg-Witten map. In both approaches, gauge invariance requires a suitable ``measure'' in the action, breaking the E_q(2)-invariance. Some possibilities to avoid this conclusion using additional terms in the action are proposed.
We develop a generic reprersentation-independent contraction procedure for obtaining, for instance, $R_{\sf h}$ and $L$ operators of arbitrary dimensions for the quantized ${\cal U}_{\sf h}(osp(2|1))$ algebra corresponding to the classical $r_2$ matrix from the pertinent quantities of the standard q-deformed ${\cal U}_q(osp(2|1))$ algebra. Also the quantized ${\bf U_h}(osp(2|1))$ algebra corresponding to the classical $r_1$ matrix comprising of the generators of the classical $sl(2)$ algebra is obtained in terms of a nonlinear basis set.
The meaning of quantum group transformation properties is discussed in some detail by comparing the (co)actions of the quantum group with those of the corresponding Lie group, both of which have the same algebraic (matrix) form of the transformation. Various algebras are considered which are covariant with respect to the quantum (super) groups $SU_q(2),\; SU_q(1, 1),\; SU_q(1|1),\; SU_q(n), \\ SU_q(m|n),\; OSp_q(1|2)$ as well as deformed Minkowski space-time algebras.
This is a paper in a series to study quantum vertex algebras and their relations with various quantum algebras. In this paper, we introduce a notion of T-type quantum vertex algebra and a notion of $G$-covariant $ϕ$-coordinated quasi module for a $T$-type quantum vertex algebra with an automorphism group $G$. We refine and extend several previous results and we obtain a commutator formula for $G$-covariant $ϕ$-coordinated quasi modules. As an illustrating example, we study a special case of the deformed Virasoro algebra $\V_{p,q}$ with $q=-1$, to which we associate a Clifford vertex superalgeb…
We consider sets of screening operators with fermionic screening currents. We study sums of vertex operators which formally commute with the screening operators assuming that each vertex operator has rational contractions with all screening currents with only simple poles. We develop and use the method of $qq$-characters which are combinatorial objects described in terms of deformed Cartan matrix. We show that each qq-character gives rise to a sum of vertex operators commuting with screening operators and describe ways to understand the sum in the case it is infinite. We discuss combinatorics …
We show that the $κ$-deformed Poincaré quantum algebra proposed for elementary particle physics has the structure of a Hopf agebra bicrossproduct $U(so(1,3))\cobicross T$. The algebra is a semidirect product of the classical Lorentz group $so(1,3)$ acting in a deformed way on the momentum sector $T$. The novel feature is that the coalgebra is also semidirect, with a backreaction of the momentum sector on the Lorentz rotations. Using this, we show that the $κ$-Poincaré acts covariantly on a $κ$-Minkowski space, which we introduce. It turns out necessarily to be deformed and non-commutative. We …
Any deformation of a Weyl or Clifford algebra A can be realized through a `deforming map', i.e. a formal change of generators in A. This is true in particular if A is covariant under a Lie algebra g and its deformation is induced by some triangular deformation $U_h g$ of the Hopf algebra $Ug$. We propose a systematic method to construct all the corresponding deforming maps, together with the corresponding realizations of the action of $U_h g$. The method is then generalized and explicitly applied to the case that $U_h g$ is the quantum group $U_h sl(2)$. A preliminary study of the status of de…
