Goresky, Kottwitz and MacPherson have recently shown that the computation of the equivariant cohomology ring of a G-manifold can be reduced to a computation in graph theory. This opens up the possibility that many of the fundamental theorems in equivariant de Rham theory may, on closer inspection, turn out simply to be theorems about graphs. In this paper we show that for some familiar theorems, this is indeed the case.

Equivariant de Rham Cohomology: Theory and Applications

This is a survey on the equivariant cohomology of Lie group actions on manifolds, from the point of view of de Rham theory. Emphasis is put on the notion of equivariant formality, as well as on applications to ordinary cohomology and to fixed points.

On the equivarant de-Rham cohomology for non-compact Lie groups

Let $G$ be a connected and non-necessarily compact Lie group acting on a connected manifold $M$. In this short note we announce the following result: for a $G$-invariant closed differential form on $M$, the existence of a closed equivariant extension in the Cartan model for equivariant cohomology is equivalent to the existence of an extension in the homotopy quotient.

Fukaya's conjecture on $S^1$-equivariant de Rham complex

Getzler-Jones-Petrack introduced $A_\infty$ structures on the equivariant complex for manifold $M$ with smooth $\mathbb{S}^1$ action, motivated by geometry of loop spaces. Applying Witten's deformation by Morse functions followed by homological perturbation we obtained a new set of $A_\infty$ structures. Equivariant cohomology over Lie groupoids and Lie-Rinehart algebras

Equivariant Cohomology Of The Chiral de Rham Complex And The Half-Twisted Gauged Sigma Model

In this paper, we study the perturbative aspects of the half-twisted variant of Witten's topological A-model coupled to a non-dynamical gauge field with Kahler target space X being a G-manifold. Group-valued equivariant localization

We prove a localization formula for group-valued equivariant de Rham cohomology of a compact G-manifold. This formula is a non-trivial generalization of the localization formula of Berline-Vergne and Atiyah-Bott for the usual equivariant de Rham cohomology. As an application, we obtain a version of the Duistermaat-Heckman formula for Hamiltonian spaces with group-valued moment maps.

Hochschild Cohomology versus De Rham Cohomology without Formality Theorems

We exploit the Fedosov-Weinstein-Xu (FWX) resolution proposed in q-alg/9709043 to establish an isomorphism between the ring of Hochschild cohomology of the quantum algebra of functions on a symplectic manifold M and the ring H(M, C((h))) of De Rham cohomology of M with the coefficient field C((h)) without making use of any version of the formality theorem. We also show that the Gerstenhaber bracket induced on H(M,C((h))) via the isomorphism is vanishing. We discuss equivariant properties of the isomorphism and propose an analogue of this statement in an algebraic geometric setting.

Chern-Weil forms and abstract homotopy theory

We prove that Chern-Weil forms are the only natural differential forms associated to a connection on a principal G-bundle. We use the homotopy theory of simplicial sheaves on smooth manifolds to formulate the theorem and set up the proof. Other arguments come from classical invariant theory.
