We show that for integral operators of general form the norm bounds in Lorentz spaces imply certain norm bounds for the maximal function. As a consequence, the a.e. convergence for the integral operators on the Lorentz spaces follows from the appropriate norm estimates.
The functional interpolation problem on a continual set of nodes by an integral continued C-fraction is studied. The necessary and sufficient conditions for its solvability are found. As a particular case, the considered integral continued fraction contains a standard interpolation continued C-fraction which is used to approximate the functions of one variable.
We present the abstract framework and some applications of interpolation theory. The main new result concerns interpolation between H^1 and L^p estimates for analytic families of operators acting on Schwartz functions.
In this note we prove mean convergence of Lagrange interpolation at the zeros of para-orthogonal polynomials for measures in the unit circle which does not belong to Szegő's class in the unit circle. When the measure is in Szegő's class mean convergence of Lagrange interpolation is proved for functions in the disk algebra.
We investigate the convergence of entire Lagrange interpolations and of Hermite interpolations of exponential type in weighted $L^p$-spaces on the real line. The weights are reciprocals of entire functions and depend on the type and may be viewed as smoothed versions of a target weight. The convergence statements are obtained from Marcinkiewicz inequalities with constants proportional to the type. For the special case of power weights we recover results of Rahman and Grozev and of Lubinsky.
Self-adjoint Dirac systems and subclasses of canonical systems, which generalize Dirac systems are studied. Explicit and global solutions of direct and inverse problems are obtained. A local Borg-Marchenko-type theorem, integral representation of the Weyl function, and results on interpolation of Weyl functions are also derived.
We consider multipoint Padé approximation to Cauchy transforms of complex measures. We show that if the support of a measure is an analytic Jordan arc and if the measure itself is absolutely continuous with respect to the equilibrium distribution of that arc with Dini-smooth non-vanishing density, then the diagonal multipoint Padé approximants associated with appropriate interpolation schemes converge locally uniformly to the approximated Cauchy transform in the complement of the arc. This asymptotic behavior of Padé approximants is deduced from the analysis of underlying non-Hermitian orthogo…
We interpolate matrix beta-integrals of Siegel, Hua Loo Keng and Gindikin types with respect to dimension of the field. The domain of integration (Rayleigh triangles) imitates collections of all the eigenvalues of all the principal minors of a self-adjoint matrix. We also interpolate the Hua--Pickrell measures on inverse limits of symmetric spaces. Our family of integrals also contains the Selberg integral.
We design convergent multipoint Pade interpolation schemes to Cauchy transforms of non-vanishing complex densities with respect to Jacobi-type weights on analytic arcs, under mild smoothness assumptions on the density. We rely on our earlier work for the choice of the interpolation points, and dwell on the Riemann-Hilbert approach to asymptotics of orthogonal polynomials introduced by Kuijlaars, McLaughlin, Van Assche, and Vanlessen in the case of a segment. We also elaborate on the $\bar\partial$-extension of the Riemann-Hilbert technique, initiated by McLaughlin and Miller on the line to rel…
Let $\mathbb{R}=(-\infty,\infty)$, and let $Q\in C^1(\mathbb{R}): \mathbb{R}\rightarrow \mathbb{R^+}=[0,\infty)$ be an even function, which is an exponent. We consider the weight $w_ρ(x)=|x|^ρ e^{-Q(x)}$, $ρ\geqslant 0$, $x\in \mathbb{R}$, and then we can construct the orthonormal polynomials $p_{n}(w_ρ^2;x)$ of degree n for $w_ρ^2(x)$. In this paper we obtain $L_p$-convergence theorems of even order Hermite-Fejér interpolation polynomials at the zeros $\left\{x_{k,n,ρ}\right\}_{k=1}^n$ of $p_{n}(w_ρ^2;x)$.
Interpolation inequalities play an important role in the study of PDEs and their applications. There are still some interesting open questions and problems that related to integral estimates and regularity of solutions to the elliptic and/or parabolic equations. Since many of researchers who are working on this domain, the main motivation of our work here is to provide an important observation of $L^p$-boundedness property with respect to the interpolation inequalities. In this paper, from an idea of integral approximation theory and Sobolev, Morrey embeddings, we construct a nontrivial counte…
This article pertains to interpolation of Sobolev functions at shrinking lattices $h\mathbb{Z}^d$ from $L_p$ shift-invariant spaces associated with cardinal functions related to general multiquadrics, $ϕ_{α,c}(x):=(|x|^2+c^2)^α$. The relation between the shift-invariant spaces generated by the cardinal functions and those generated by the multiquadrics themselves is considered. Additionally, $L_p$ error estimates in terms of the dilation $h$ are considered for the associated cardinal interpolation scheme. This analysis expands the range of $α$ values which were previously known to give such co…
We introduce $B_w^u$-function spaces which unify Lebesgue, Morrey-Campanato, Lipschitz, $B^p$, CMO, local Morrey-type spaces, etc., and investigate the interpolation property of $B_w^u$-function spaces. We also apply it to the boundedness of linear and sublinear operators, for example, the Hardy-Littlewood maximal and fractional maximal operators, singular and fractional integral operators with rough kernel, the Littlewood-Paley operator, Marcinkiewicz operator, and so on.
In a Freud-type weighted ($w$) space, introducing another weight ($v$) with infinitely many roots, we give a complete and minimal system with respect to $vw$, by deleting infinitely many elements from the original orthonormal system with respect to $w$. The construction of the conjugate system implies an interpolation problem at infinitely many nodes. Besides the existence, we give some convergence properties of the solution.
This expository thesis contains a study of four interpolation theorems, the requisite background material, and a few applications. The materials introduced in the first three sections of Chapter 1 are used to motivate and prove the Riesz-Thorin interpolation theorem and its extension by Stein, both of which are presented in the fourth section. Chapter 2 revolves around Calderón's complex method of interpolation and the interpolation theorem of Fefferman and Stein, with the material in between providing the necessary examples and tools. The two theorems are then applied to a brief study of line…
We prove a number of quadratic transformations of elliptic Selberg integrals (conjectured in an earlier paper of the author), as well as studying in depth the "interpolation kernel", an analytic continuation of the author's elliptic interpolation functions which plays a major role in the proof as well as acting as the kernel for a Fourier transform on certain elliptic double affine Hecke algebras (discussed in a later paper). In the process, we give a number of examples of a new approach to proving elliptic hypergeometric integral identities, by reduction to a Zariski dense subset of a formal …
For $h>0$ and positive integers $m$, $d$, such that $m>d/2$, we study non-stationary interpolation at the points of the scaled grid $h\mathbb{Z}^d$ via the Matérn kernel $Φ_{m,d}$---the fundamental solution of $(1-Δ)^m$ in $\mathbb{R}^d$. We prove that the Lebesgue constants of the corresponding interpolation operators are uniformly bounded as $h\to0$ and deduce the convergence rate $O(h^{2m})$ for the scaled interpolation scheme. We also provide convergence results for approximation with Matérn and related compactly supported polyharmonic kernels.
Eric Rains conjectured several quadratic transformations between multivariate elliptic hypergeometric functions in "Elliptic Littlewood Identities", with the integrand multiplied by interpolation functions. In this article two of these conjectures are proven in the case where the interpolation functions are constant, and we obtain a third conjecture as a corollary. Two other equations for elliptic Selberg integrals with 10 parameters, two of which multiplying to pq/t, are given, as they are needed in the proof. The proofs consist essentially of a calculation which strings together many ellipti…
We study the convergence of the Laurent polynomials of Lagrange interpolation on the unit circle for continuous functions satisfying a condition about their modulus of continuity. The novelty of the result is that now the nodal systems are more general than those constituted by the n roots of complex unimodular numbers and the class of functions is different from the usually studied. Moreover, some consequences for the Lagrange interpolation on [-1,1] and the Lagrange trigonometric interpolation are obtained.
In this paper we define an integral operator on Lp and obtain its degree of convergence in the appropriate norm. By specializing the kernel of the integral operator we obtain many known results as corollaries. We have also applied our results to obtain results on singular integral operators.
First examples of matrix beta-integrals were discovered on 1930-50s by Siegel and Hua, in 60s Gindikin obtained multi-parametric series of such integrals. We discuss beta-integrals related to symmetric spaces, their interpolation with respect to the dimension of a ground field, and adelic analogs; also we discuss beta-integrals related to flag spaces.
