Let E/F be a quadratic number (resp. p-adic) field extension, and F' an odd degree cyclic field extension of F. We establish a base-change functorial lifting of automorphic (resp. admissible) representations from the unitary group U(3,E/F) associated with E/F to the unitary group U(3,F'E/F'). In this paper, we prove that, over an algebraically closed field of odd characteristic, a weakly tame automorphism of a K3 surface of finite height can be lifted over the ring of Witt vectors of the base field. For a K3 surface of finite height over a field of odd characteristic, there exists a smooth lifting to the ring of Witt vectors such that the reduction map from the Picard group of the generic fiber to the Picard group of the special fiber is isomorphic. In this paper, using this result, we give a criterion for a K3 surface of finite height over a field of odd characteristic to be an Enriques K3 surface or to be a K3 surface in terms of the Neron-Severi lattice. We study irreducible odd mod $p$ Galois representations $\barρ \colon \mathrm{Gal}(\overline{F}/F) \to G(\overline{\mathbb{F}}_p)$, for $F$ a totally real number field and $G$ a general reductive group. For $p \gg_{G, F} 0$, we show that any $\barρ$ that lifts locally, and at places above $p$ to de Rham and Hodge-Tate regular representations, has a geometric $p$-adic lift. We also prove non-geometric lifting results without any oddness assumption.

In a previous paper, the potential automorphy of certain Galois representations to GL_n for n even was established, following work of Harris, Shepherd-Barron and Taylor and using the lifting theorems of Clozel, Harris and Taylor. In this paper, we extend those results to n=3 and n=5, and conditionally to all other odd n. The key additional tools necessary are results which give the automorphy or potential automorphy of symmetric powers of elliptic curves, most notably those of Gelbert, Jacquet, Kim, Shahidi and Harris.
In this paper, the author proved that the base change lifting associated to a totally ramified extension of a non-archimedean local field coincides with a map coming from the close fields theory of Kazhdan under some conditions.
