Apart from math.AG/0608569, it contains the following applications of it. Let M be a simply connected, irreducible smooth complex projective variety of dimension $n$ such that the Picard number of $M$ is one. If the canonical line bundle $K_M$ is ample, then the algebraic holonomy of $TM$ is $\text{GL}(n, {\mathbb C})$. If $K^{-1}_M$ is ample, $\text{rank}(\text{NS}(M)) = 1$, the biholomorphic automorphism group of $M$ is finite, and $M$ admits a Kähler--Einstein metric, then the algebraic holonomy of $TM$ is ${\rm GL}(n, {\mathbb C})$.
We define the notion of holonomy group for a stable vector bundle F on a variety in terms of the Narasimhan--Seshadri unitary representation of its restriction to curves. Next we relate the holonomy group to the minimal structure group and to the decomposition of tensor powers of F. Finally we illustrate the principle that either the holonomy is large or there is a clear geometric reason why it should be small.
Let (M,I,J,K) be a compact hypercomplex manifold admitting an HKT-metric. Assume that the canonical bundle of (M,I) is trivial as a holomorphic line bundle. We show that the holonomy of Obata connection on M is contained in SL(n,H). In Appendix we apply these arguments to compact nilmanifolds equipped with abelian hypercomplex structures, showing that such manifolds have holonomy in SL(n,H).
We investigate principal bundles over a root stack. In case of dimension one, we generalize the criterion of Weil and Atiyah for a principal bundle to have an algebraic connection.
In ``Ramified G-bundles as parabolic bundles'' (J. Ramanujan Math. Soc. (2003) Vol. 18) with Balaji and Nagaraj we introduced the ramified principal bundles. The aim here is to define the Higgs bundles in the ramified context.
In \cite{Bi2} (Canad. Jour. Math. Vol. 58) we defined connections on a parabolic principal bundle. While connections on usual principal bundles are defined as splittings of the Atiyah exact sequence, it was noted in \cite{Bi2} that the Atiyah exact sequence does not generalize to the parabolic principal bundles. Here we show that a twisted version of the Atiyah exact sequence generalize to the context of parabolic principal bundles. For usual principal bundles, giving a splitting of this twisted Atiyah exact sequence is equivalent to giving a splitting of the Atiyah exact sequence. Connections…
We construct a compactification of the universal moduli space of semistable principal $G$-bundles over $\overline{\textrm{M}}_{g}$, the fibers of which over singular curves are the moduli spaces of $δ$-semistable singular principal G-bundles.
We substantially refine the theory of singular principal bundles introduced in a former paper. In particular, we show that we need only honest singular principal bundles in our compactification. These are objects which carry the structure of a rational principal bundle in the sense of Ramanathan. Moreover, we arrive at a much simpler semistability condition. In the case of a semisimple group, this is just the Gieseker-version of Ramanathan's semistability condition for the corresponding rational principal $G$-bundle.
In this paper we construct the moduli of semistable principal bundles with structure group a semisimple group, over nonsingular curves in positive characteristic, with good bounds on the prime.
Let $k$ be a field of characteristic $0$. We consider principal bundles over a $k$-scheme with reductive structure group (not necessarily of finite type). It is showm in particular that for $k$ algebraically closed there exists on any complete connected $k$-scheme a universal such bundle. As a consequence, an explicit description of principal bundles with reductive structure group over curves of genus $0$ or $1$ is obtained.
The existence and uniqueness of H-N reduction for the Higgs principal bundles over nonsingular projective variety is shown. We also extend the notion of H-N reduction for (Γ, G)-bundles and ramified G-bundles over a smooth curve.
We consider principal bundles over homogeneous spaces G/P, where P is a parabolic subgroup of a semisimple and simply connected complex linear algebraic group G. We prove that a holomorphic principal H--bundle, where H is a complex reductive group, is homogeneous if the adjoint vector bundle ad(E) is homogeneous. We also show that E is homogeneous if its associated vector bundle for any finite dimensional faithful H--module is homogeneous.
In this note, we introduce the notion of a singular principal G-bundle, associated to a reductive algebraic group G over the complex numbers by means of a faithful representation $\varrho^\p\colon G\lra \SL(V)$. This concept is meant to provide an analogon to the notion of a torsion free sheaf as a generalization of the notion of a vector bundle. We will construct moduli spaces for these singular principal bundles which compactify the moduli spaces of stable principal bundles.
We generalise the variant of the Babylonian tower theorem for vector bundles on projective spaces proved by I. Coanda and G. Trautmann (2006) to the case of principal $G$-bundles over projective spaces, where $G$ is a linear algebraic group defined over an algebraically closed field. In course of the proofs some new insight into the structure of such principal $G$-bundles is obtained.
Let G/P be a rational homogeneous variety, where P is a parabolic subgroup of a simple and simply connected linear algebraic group G defined over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. A homogeneous principal bundle over G/P is semistable (respectively, polystable) if and only if it is equivariantly semistable (respectively, equivariantly polystable). A stable homogeneous principal H-bundle (E_H ,ρ) is equivariantly stable, but the converse is not true in general. If a homogeneous principal H-bundle (E_H ,ρ) is not equivariantly stable but not stable, then E_H admits an action ρ…
Let $G$ be a semisimple linear algebraic group over the field $\mathbb C$, and let $C$ be an irreducible smooth complex projective curve of genus at least three. We compute the Brauer group of the smooth locus of the moduli space of semistable principal $G$--bundles over $C$. We also compute the Brauer group of the moduli stack of principal $G$--bundles over $C$.
We classify holomorphic as well as algebraic torus equivariant principal $G$-bundles over a nonsingular toric variety $X$, where $G$ is a complex linear algebraic group. It is shown that any such bundle over an affine, nonsingular toric variety admits a trivialization in equivariant sense. We also obtain some splitting results.
We define a parameter dependent notion of stability for principal bundles with a certain local decoration, which generalizes both parabolic and level structures, and construct their coarse moduli space. A necessary technical step is the construction of the moduli space of tuples of vector bundles with a global and a local decoration, which we call decorated tumps. We introduce a notion of asymptotic stability for decorated tumps and show, that stable decorated principal bundles can be described as asymptotically stable decorated tumps.
Let $X$ be a smooth irreducible projective curve. Recently, Pauly and Peón-Nieto shows that a vector bundle over $X$ is very stable if and only if the Hitchin map on the vector space of Higgs field on that vector bundle is proper. In this notes, we generalize this result to principal $G-$bundles for any semisimple linear algebraic group $G$. We also study the relation between very stability and other stability conditions in the case of $\text{SL}_2-$bundles.
In this paper we proof the existence of a linearization for singular principal G-bundles not depending on the base curve. This allow us to construct the relative compact moduli space of δ-(semi)stable singular principal G-bundles over families of reduced projective and connected nodal curves, and to reduce the construction of the universal moduli space over $\overline{M}_{g}$ to the construction of the universal moduli space of swamps.
We give an example of an orthogonal bundle where the Harder-Narasimhan filtration, with respect to Gieseker semistability, of its underlying vector bundle does not correspond to any parabolic reduction of the orthogonal bundle. A similar example is given for the symplectic case.
We give a Miyaoka-type semistability criterion for principal Higgs G-bundles E on complex projective manifolds of any dimension, i.e., we prove that E is semistable and the second Chern class of its adjoint bundle vanishes if and only if certain line bundles, obtained from the characters of the parabolic subgroups of G, are numerically effective. We also give alternative characterizations in terms of a notion of numerical effectiveness of Higgs vector bundles we have recently introduced.

A principal Higgs bundle $(P,ϕ)$ over a singular curve $X$ is a pair consisting of a principal bundle $P$ and a morphism $ϕ:X\to\text{Ad}P \otimes Ω^1_X$. We construct the moduli space of principal Higgs G-bundles over an irreducible singular curve $X$ using the theory of decorated vector bundles. More precisely, given a faithful representation $ρ:G\to Sl(V)$ of $G$, we consider principal Higgs bundles as triples $(E,q,ϕ)$ where $E$ is a vector bundle with $\rk{E}=\dim V$ over the normalization $\xtilde$ of $X$, $q$ is a parabolic structure on $E$ and $ϕ:E\ab{}\to L$ is a morphism of bundles, …
We study Miyaoka-type semistability criteria for principal Higgs G-bundles E on complex projective manifolds of any dimension. We prove that E has the property of being semistable after pullback to any projective curve if and only if certain line bundles, obtained from some characters of the parabolic subgroups of G, are numerically effective. One also proves that these conditions are met for semistable principal Higgs bundles whose adjoint bundle has vanishing second Chern class. In a second part of the paper, we introduce notions of numerical effectiveness and numerical flatness for principa…
Let $X$ be a compact connected Kähler manifold equipped with an anti-holomorphic involution which is compatible with the Kähler structure. Let $G$ be a connected complex reductive affine algebraic group equipped with a real form $σ_G$. We define pseudo-real principal $G$--bundles on $X$; these are generalizations of real algebraic principal $G$--bundles over a real algebraic variety. Next we define stable, semistable and polystable pseudo-real principal $G$--bundles. Their relationships with the usual stable, semistable and polystable principal $G$--bundles are investigated. We then prove that…
Let $H$ be a semisimple algebraic group. We prove the semistable reduction theorem for $μ$--semistable principal $H$--bundles over a {\it smooth projective variety $X$} defined over the field $\bc$. When $X$ is a {\it smooth projective surface} and $H$ is simple, we construct the algebro--geometric Donaldson--Uhlenbeck compactification of the moduli space of $μ$--semistable principal $H$--bundles with fixed characteristic classes and describe its points. For large characteristic classes we show that the moduli space of $μ$--stable principal $H$--bundles is non--empty.
In this paper, the first of a series of three, we classify holomorphic principal G-bundles over an elliptic curve, where G is a reductive group. We also study the local and global properties of the moduli space of semistable G-bundles. We identify canonical representatives for each S-equivalence class of semistable G-bundles, and study their automorphism groups.
We study relatively semi-stable vector bundles and their moduli on non-Kähler principal elliptic bundles over compact complex manifolds of arbitrary dimension. The main technical tools used are the twisted Fourier-Mukai transform and a spectral cover construction. For the important example of such principal bundles, the numerical invariants of a 3-dimensional non-Kähler elliptic principal bundle over a primary Kodaira surface are computed.
For elliptic principal bundles $π:X\ra B$ over Kähler manifolds it was shown by Blanchard that $X$ has a Kähler metric if and only both Chern classes (with real coefficients) of $π$ vanish. For some elliptic principal bundles, when the span of these Chern classes is 1-dimensional, it was shown by Vaisman that $X$ carry locally conformally Kähler (LCK, for short) metrics. We show that in the case when the Chern classes are linearly independent, $X$ carries no LCK metric.
