We study the behaviour of principal bundles under pullback along proper surjective morphisms of either schemes over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0 or complex analytic spaces.
In this article, we study the behavior of the stability of pullback of a vector bundle under a finite morphism from a (not necessarily smooth) stacky curve to an orbifold curve. We establish a categorical equivalence between proper formal orbifold curves and proper orbifold curves in the sense of Deligne-Mumford stacks. Using this identification, we define the notion of slope $P$-(semi)stability of vector bundles on proper formal orbifold curves $(X,P)$. We establish some equivalent conditions for a stacky genuinely ramified morphism, analogous to the case of curves. Finally, we show that for …
Let $f$ be a morphism from a klt pair $(X, Δ)$ to an abelian variety $A$, $m\geq1$ a rational number and $D$ a Cartier divisor on $X$ such that $D\sim_{\mathbb Q}m(K_X+Δ)$. We prove that the sheaf $f_*\mathcal{O}_X(D)$ becomes globally generated after pullback by an isogeny and has the Chen-Jiang decomposition, along with some related results. These are applied to some effective results for $\mathcal{O}_X(D)$ when $X$ is irregular.
Let $f \colon X \to A$ be a morphism from a smooth projective variety to an abelian variety (over the field of complex numbers). We show that the sheaves $f_* ω_X^{\otimes m}$ become globally generated after pullback by an isogeny. We use this to deduce a decomposition theorem for these sheaves when $m \ge 2$, analogous to that obtained by Chen-Jiang when $m = 1$. This is in turn applied to effective results for pluricanonical linear series on irregular varieties with canonical singularities.
Let $G$ be a split reductive group over a field $k$ of arbitrary characteristic, chosen suitably. Let $X\to S$ be a smooth projective morphism of locally noetherian $k$-schemes, with geometrically connected fibers. We show that for each Harder-Narasimhan type $τ$ for principal $G$-bundles, all pairs consisting of a principal $G$-bundle on a fiber of $X\to S$ together with a given canonical reduction of HN-type $τ$ form an algebraic stack $Bun_{X/S}^τ(G)$ over $S$. The forgetful $1$-morphism $Bun_{X/S}^τ(G) \to Bun_{X/S}(G)$ to the algebraic stack of all principal $G$-bundles on fibers of $X\to…
Let $Y_{1},\dots,Y_{l}$ be smooth irreducible projective curves and let $Y$ be its disjoint union. Given a semisimple reductive algebraic group $G$ and a faithful representation $ρ:G\hookrightarrow \textrm{SL}(V)$ we construct a projective moduli space of $(\underlineκ,δ)$-(semi)stable singular principal $G$-bundles with generalized parabolic structure of type $\underline{e}$. In case $Y$ is the normalization of a connected and reducible projective nodal curve $X$, there is a closed subscheme coarsely representing the subfunctor corresponding to descending bundles. We prove that the descent op…
Let $X$ be a complex toric variety equipped with the action of an algebraic torus $T$, and let $G$ be a complex linear algebraic group. We classify all $T$-equivariant principal $G$-bundles $\mathcal{E}$ over $X$ and the morphisms between them. When $G$ is connected and reductive, we characterize the equivariant automorphism group $\text{Aut}_T(\mathcal{E} )$ of $\mathcal{E}$ as the intersection of certain parabolic subgroups of $G$ that arise naturally from the $T$-action on $\mathcal{E}$. We then give a criterion for the equivariant reduction of the structure group of $\mathcal{E}$ to a Levi…
