We study quasi-Jacobi and Jacobi-quasi bialgebroids and their relationships with twisted Jacobi and quasi Jacobi manifolds. We show that we can construct quasi-Lie bialgebroids from quasi-Jacobi bialgebroids, and conversely, and also that the structures induced on their base manifolds are related via a quasi Poissonization.
We study twisted Jacobi manifolds, a concept that we had introduced in a previous Note. Twisted Jacobi manifolds can be characterized using twisted Dirac-Jacobi, which are sub-bundles of Courant-Jacobi algebroids. We show that each twisted Jacobi manifold has an associated Lie algebroid with a 1-cocycle. We introduce the notion of quasi-Jacobi bialgebroid and we prove that each twisted Jacobi manifold has a quasi-Jacobi bialgebroid canonically associated. Moreover, the double of a quasi-Jacobi bialgebroid is a Courant-Jacobi algebroid. Several examples of twisted Jacobi manifolds and twisted D…
The notion of a generalized Lie bialgebroid (a generalization of the notion of a Lie bialgebroid) is introduced in such a way that a Jacobi manifold has associated a canonical generalized Lie bialgebroid. As a kind of converse, we prove that a Jacobi structure can be defined on the base space of a generalized Lie bialgebroid. We also show that it is possible to construct a Lie bialgebroid from a generalized Lie bialgebroid and, as a consequence, we deduce a duality theorem. Finally, some special classes of generalized Lie bialgebroids are considered: triangular generalized Lie bialgebroids and…
Jacobi groupoids are introduced as a generalization of Poisson and contact groupoids and it is proved that generalized Lie bialgebroids are the infinitesimal invariants of Jacobi groupoids. Several examples are discussed.
We propose a definition of Jacobi quasi-Nijenhuis algebroid and show that any such Jacobi algebroid has an associated quasi-Jacobi bialgebroid. Therefore, also an associated Courant-Jacobi algebroid is obtained. We introduce the notions of quasi-Jacobi bialgebroid morphism and Courant-Jacobi algebroid morphism providing also some examples of Courant-Jacobi algebroid morphisms.
We first recall some basic definitions and facts about Jacobi manifolds, generalized Lie bialgebroids, generalized Courant algebroids and Dirac structures. We establish an one-one correspondence between reducible Dirac structures of the generalized Lie bialgebroid of a Jacobi manifold $(M,Λ,E)$ for which 1 is an admissible function and Jacobi quotient manifolds of $M$. We study Jacobi reductions from the point of view of Dirac structures theory and we present some examples and applications.
We use the supergeometric formalism, more precisely, the so-called "big bracket" (for which brackets and anchors are encoded by functions on some graded symplectic manifold) to address the theory of Jacobi algebroids and bialgebroids (following mainly Iglesias-Marrero and Grabowski-Marmo as a guideline). This formalism is in particular efficient to define the Jacobi-Gerstenhaber algebra structure associated to a Jacobi algebroid, to define its Poissonization, and to express the compatibility condition defining Jacobi bialgebroids. Also, we claim that this supergeometric language gives a simple…
An alternative proof of the duality of generalized Lie bialgebroid is given and proved a canonical Jacobi structure can be defined on the base of it. We also introduce the notion of morphism between generalized Lie bialgebroids and proved that the induced Jacobi structure is unique upto a morphism.
We show that the Gerstenhaber algebra of the 1-jet Lie algebroid of a Jacobi manifold has a canonical exact generator, and discuss duality between its homology and the Lie algebroid cohomology. We also discuss a new example of a Lie bialgebroid on Poisson manifolds.
We propose a definition of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis Lie algebroids as a natural generalization of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis manifolds and show that any such Lie algebroid has an associated quasi-Lie bialgebroid. Therefore, also an associated Courant algebroid is obtained. We introduce the notion of a morphism of quasi-Lie bialgebroids and of the induced Courant algebroids morphism and provide some examples of Courant algebroid morphisms. Finally, we use paired operators to deform doubles of Lie and quasi-Lie bialgebroids and find an application to generalized complex geometry.
We generalize to the homotopy case a result of K. Mackenzie and P. Xu on relation between Lie bialgebroids and Poisson geometry. For a homotopy Poisson structure on a supermanifold $M$, we show that $(TM, T^*M)$ has a canonical structure of an $L_{\infty}$-bialgebroid. (Higher Koszul brackets on forms introduced earlier by H. Khudaverdian and the author are part of one of its manifestations.) The underlying general construction is that of a "(quasi)triangular" $L_{\infty}$-bialgebroid, which is a specialization of a "(quasi)triangular" homotopy Poisson structure. We define both here.
We study generalized Lie bialgebroids over a single point, that is, generalized Lie bialgebras. Lie bialgebras are examples of generalized Lie bialgebras. Moreover, we prove that the last ones can be considered as the infinitesimal invariants of Lie groups endowed with a certain type of Jacobi structures. We also propose a method to obtain generalized Lie bialgebras. It is a generalization of the Yang-Baxter equation method. Finally, we describe the structure of a compact generalized Lie bialgebra.
In his study of Dirac structures, a notion which includes both Poisson structures and closed 2-forms, T. Courant introduced a bracket on the direct sum of vector fields and 1-forms. This bracket does not satisfy the Jacobi identity except on certain subspaces. In this paper we systematize the properties of this bracket in the definition of a Courant algebroid. This structure on a vector bundle $E\rightarrow M$, consists of an antisymmetric bracket on the sections of $E$ whose ``Jacobi anomaly'' has an explicit expression in terms of a bundle map $E\rightarrow TM$ and a field of symmetric bilin…
In this dissertation we study Courant algebroids, objects that first appeared in the work of T. Courant on Dirac structures; they were later studied by Liu, Weinstein and Xu who used Courant algebroids to generalize the notion of the Drinfeld double to Lie bialgebroids. As a first step towards understanding the complicated properties of Courant algebroids, we interpret them by associating to each Courant algebroid a strongly homotopy Lie algebra in a natural way. Next, we propose an alternative construction of the double of a Lie bialgebroid as a homological hamiltonian vector field on an even…
We introduce the notion of pseudo-Poisson Nijenhuis manifolds. These manifolds are generalizations of Poisson Nijenhuis manifolds by Magri and Morosi \cite{MM}. We show that any pseudo-Poisson Nijenhuis manifold has an associated quasi-Lie bialgebroid as in the case of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis manifolds by Sti$\acute{\mathrm{e}}$non and Xu \cite{SX}. Hence, since a quasi-Lie bialgebroid has an associated Courant algebroid, we have new materials to construct Courant algebroids. In the "nondegenerate" case, we show that the conditions of pseudo-Poisson Nijenhuis structures can be reduced. Therefo…
Jacobi algebroids, that is graded Lie brackets on the Grassmann algebra associated with a vector bundle which satisfy a property similar to that of the Jacobi brackets, are introduced. They turn out to be equivalent to generalized Lie algebroids in the sense of Iglesias and Marrero and can be viewed also as odd Jacobi brackets on the supermanifolds associated with the vector bundles. Jacobi bialgebroids are defined in the same manner. A lifting procedure of elements of this Grassmann algebra to multivector fields on the total space of the vector bundle which preserves the corresponding bracket…
In these lecture notes, we give a quick account of the theory of Poisson groupoids and Lie bialgebroids. In particular, we discuss the universal lifting theorem and its applications including integration of quasi-Lie bialgebroids, integration of Poisson Nijenhuis structures and Alekseev and Kosmann-Schwarzbach's theory of D/G-momentum maps.
We define the Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis structures with background on Lie algebroids and we prove that to any generalized complex structure on a Courant algebroid which is the double of a Lie algebroid is associated such a structure. We prove that any Lie algebroid with a Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis structure with background constitutes, with its dual, a quasi-Lie bialgebroid. We also prove that any pair $(π,ω)$ of a Poisson bivector and a 2-form induces a Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis structure with background and we observe that particular cases correspond to already known compatibilities between $π$ an…
We prove the universal lifting theorem: for an $α$-simply connected and $α$-connected Lie groupoid $\gm$ with Lie algebroid $A$, the graded Lie algebra of multi-differentials on $A$ is isomorphic to that of multiplicative multi-vector fields on $\gm$. As a consequence, we obtain the integration theorem for a quasi-Lie bialgebroid, which generalizes various integration theorems in the literature in special cases. The second goal of the paper is the study of basic properties of quasi-Poisson groupoids. In particular, we prove that a group pair $(D, G)$ associated to a Manin quasi-triple $(\mathf…
We reformulate the notion of a Jacobi algebroid in terms of weighted odd Jacobi brackets. We then show how a Jacobi algebroid can be understood in terms of a kind of curved Q-manifold. In particular the homological condition on the odd vector field is deformed in a very specific way. This leads to the notion of a quasi Q-manifold.
We show that Jacobi's bound for the order of a system of ordinary differential equations stands in the case of a diffiety defined by a quasi-regular system. We extend the result when there are less equations than variables and characterize the case when the bound is reached.
In this paper, we introduce generalized almost para-contact manifolds and obtain normality conditions in terms of classical tensor fields. We show that such manifolds naturally carry certain Lie bialgebroid/quasi-Lie algebroid structures on them and we relate this new generalized manifolds with classical almost para-contact manifolds. The paper contains several examples.
In this paper, for a Jacobi algebroid $A$, by introducing the notion of Jacobi quasi-Nijenhuis algebroids, which is a generalization of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis manifolds introduced by Stiénon and Xu, we study generalized complex structures on the Courant-Jacobi algebroid $A\oplus A^*$, which unifies generalized complex (contact) structures on an even(odd)-dimensional manifold.
We study Maurer-Cartan elements on homotopy Poisson manifolds of degree $n$. They unify many twisted or homotopy structures in Poisson geometry and mathematical physics, such as twisted Poisson manifolds, quasi-Poisson $\g$-manifolds, and twisted Courant algebroids. Using the fact that the dual of an $n$-term $L_\infty$-algebra is a homotopy Poisson manifold of degree $n-1$, we obtain a Courant algebroid from a $2$-term $L_\infty$-algebra $\g$ via the degree $2$ symplectic NQ-manifold $T^*[2]\g^*[1]$. By integrating the Lie quasi-bialgebroid associated to the Courant algebroid, we obtain a Lie…
In this paper we define a Grassmann odd analogue of Jacobi structure on a supermanifold. The basic properties are explored. The construction of odd Jacobi manifolds is then used to reexamine the notion of a Jacobi algebroid. It is shown that Jacobi algebroids can be understood in terms of a kind of curved Q-manifold, which we will refer to as a quasi Q-manifold.
In the context of the theory of symplectic-Haantjes manifolds, we construct the Haantjes structures of generalized Stäckel systems and, as a particular case, of the quasi-bi-Hamiltonian systems. As an application, we recover the Haantjes manifolds for the rational Calogero model with three particles and for the Benenti systems.
