On the Cone conjecture for Calabi-Yau manifolds with Picard number two

Following a recent work of Oguiso, we calculate explicitly the groups of automorphisms and birational automorphisms on a Calabi-Yau manifold with Picard number two. When the group of birational automorphisms is infinite, we prove that the Cone conjecture of Morrison and Kawamata holds.

The Morrison--Kawamata cone conjecture for singular symplectic varieties

We prove the Morrison--Kawamata cone conjecture for projective primitive symplectic varieties with $\Q$-factorial and terminal singularities with $b_2\geq 5$, from which we derive for instance the finiteness of minimal models of such varieties, up to isomorphisms. Birational automorphism groups of projective varieties of Picard number two

We slightly extend a result of Oguiso on birational or automorphism groups (resp. of Lazić - Peternell on Morrison-Kawamata cone conjecture) from Calabi-Yau manifolds of Picard number two to arbitrary singular varieties X (resp. to klt Calabi-Yau pairs in broad sense) of Picard number two. When X has only klt singularities and is not a complex torus, we show that either Aut(X) is almost cyclic, or it has only finitely many connected components.

Singularities of Theta Divisors, and the Birational Geometry of Irregular Varieties

The purpose of this paper is to show how the generic vanishing theorems of M. Green and the second author can be used to settle several questions and conjectures concerning the geometry of irregular complex projective varieties. First, we prove a conjecture of Arbarello and DeConcini characterizing principally polarized abelian varieties whose theta divisors are singular in codimension one. On algebraic fiber spaces over varieties of maximal Albanese dimension

We study algebraic fiber spaces $f:X \longrightarrow Y$ where $Y$ is of maximal Albanese dimension. In particular we give an effective version a theorem of Kawamata: If $P_m(X)=1$ for some $m \ge 2$, then the Albanese map of $X$ is surjective. Combining this with \cite{CH} it follows that $X$ is birational to an abelian variety if and only if $P_2(X)=1$ and $q(X)= \text{\rm dim} (X)$.

Birational automorphism groups and the movable cone theorem for Calabi-Yau manifolds of Wehler type via universal Coxeter groups

Thanks to the theory of Coxeter groups, we produce the first family of Calabi-Yau manifolds $X$ of arbitrary dimension $n$, for which $\Bir(X)$ is infinite and the Kawamata-Morrison movable cone conjecture is satisfied. For this family, the movable cone is explicitly described; it's fractal nature is related to limit sets of Kleinian groups and to the Apollonian Gasket. Then, we produce explicit examples of (biregular) automorphisms with positive entropy on some Calabi-Yau manifolds.

Morphisms of Projective Varieties from the viewpoint of Minimal Model Theory

In this Lecture Notes we present, in a sufficiently self contained way, our contributions and interests in the field of Minimal Model Theory. We study Fano-Mori spaces, both from the biregular and the birational point of view. On the characterization of abelian varieties for log pairs in zero and positive characteristic

We study how the condition $κ(K_X + Δ)=0$ causes surjectivity or birationality of the Albanese map and the Albanese morphism of $X$ in both characteristic $0$ and characteristic $p > 0$. Hyperbolic geometry of the ample cone of a hyperkahler manifold

Let $M$ be a compact hyperkahler manifold with maximal holonomy (IHS). The group $H^2(M, R)$ is equipped with a quadratic form of signature $(3, b_2-3)$, called Bogomolov-Beauville-Fujiki (BBF) form. This form restricted to the rational Hodge lattice $H^{1,1}(M,Q)$, has signature $(1,k)$. This gives a hyperbolic Riemannian metric on the projectivisation of the positive cone in $H^{1,1}(M,Q)$, denoted by $H$.
