A special type of immigration associated with measure-valued branching processes is formulated by using skew convolution semigroups. We give characterization for a general inhomogeneous skew convolution semigroup in terms of probability entrance laws. The related immigration process is constructed by summing up measure-valued paths in the Kuznetsov process determined by an entrance rule. The behavior of the Kuznetsov process is then studied, which provides insights into trajectory structures of the immigration process. Some well-known results on excessive measures are formulated in terms of stationary immigration processes.
In this work we develop an original and thorough analysis of the (non)-smoothness properties of the semigroups, and their heat kernels, associated to a large class of continuous state branching processes with immigration. Our approach is based on an in-depth analysis of the regularity of the absolutely continuous part of the invariant measure combined with a substantial refinement of Ogura's spectral expansion of the transition kernels. In particular, we find new representations for the eigenfunctions and eigenmeasures that allow us to derive delicate uniform bounds that are useful for establi…
Continuous-state branching processes (CSBPs) with immigration (CBIs), stopped on hitting zero, are generalized by allowing the process governing immigration to be any Lévy process without negative jumps. Unlike the CBIs, these newly introduced processes do not appear to satisfy any natural affine property on the level of the Laplace transforms of the semigroups. Basic properties are noted. Explicit formulae (on neighborhoods of infinity) for the Laplace transforms of the first passage times downwards and of the explosion time are derived.
A continuous time mixed state branching process is constructed as the scaling limits of two-type Galton-Watson processes. The process can also be obtained by the pathwise unique solution to a stochastic equation system. From the stochastic equation system we derive the distribution of local jumps and the exponential ergodicity in Wasserstein-type distances of the transition semigroup is given. Meanwhile, we study immigration structures associated with the process and prove the existence of the stationary distribution of the process with immigration.
In this work we study the long-time behavior for subcritical measure-valued branching processes with immigration on the space of tempered measures. Under some reasonable assumptions on the spatial motion, the branching and immigration mechanisms, we prove the existence and uniqueness of an invariant measure for the corresponding Markov transition semigroup. Moreover, we show that it converges with exponential rate to the unique invariant measure in the Wasserstein distance as well as in a distance defined in terms of Laplace transforms. Finally, we consider an application of our results to sup…
Under natural assumptions, we prove the ergodicities and exponential ergodicities in Wasserstein and total variation distances of Dawson--Watanabe superprocesses without or with immigration. The strong Feller property in the total variation distance is derived as a by-product. The key of the approach is a set of estimates for the variations of the transition probabilities. The estimates in Wasserstein distance are derived from an upper bound of the kernels induced by the first moment of the superprocess. Those in total variation distance are based on a comparison of the cumulant semigroup of t…

A general continuous-state branching processes in random environment (CBRE-process) is defined as the strong solution of a stochastic integral equation. The environment is determined by a Lévy process with no jump less than $-1$. We give characterizations of the quenched and annealed transition semigroups of the process in terms of a backward stochastic integral equation driven by another Lévy process determined by the environment. The process hits zero with strictly positive probability if and only if its branching mechanism satisfies Grey's condition. In that case, a characterization of the …

A diffusion taking value in probability measures on a graph with a vertex set $V$, $\sum_{i\in V}x_iδ_i$, is studied. The masses on each vertices satisfy the stochastic differential equation of the form $dx_i=\sum_{j\in N(i)}\sqrt{x_ix_j}dB_{ij}$ on the simplex, where $\{B_{ij}\}$ are independent standard Brownian motions with skew symmetry and $N(i)$ is the neighbour of the vertex $i$. A dual Markov chain on integer partitions to the Markov semigroup associated with the diffusion is used to show that the support of an extremal stationary state of the adjoint semigroup is an independent set of…
