In this paper, we study any Kähler manifold where the positive orthogonal bisectional curvature is preserved on the Kähler Ricci flow. Naturally, we always assume that the first Chern class $C_1$ is positive. In particular, we prove that any irreducible Kähler manifold with such property must be biholomorphic to $\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^n. $ This can be viewed as a generalization of Siu-Yau\cite{Siuy80}, Morri's solution \cite{Mori79} of the Frankel conjecture. According to [8], note that any Kähler manifold with 2-positive traceless bisectional curvature operator is preserved under Kahler Ricci flow; which in turns implies the positivity of orthogonal bisectional curvature under the flow.
In this note we prove the following result: There is a positive constant $ε(n,Λ)$ such that if $M^n$ is a simply connected compact K$\ddot{a}$hler manifold with sectional curvature bounded from above by $Λ$, diameter bounded from above by 1, and with holomorphic bisectional curvature $H \geq -ε(n,Λ)$, then $M^n$ is diffeomorphic to the product $M_1\times ... \times M_k$, where each $M_i$ is either a complex projective space or an irreducible K$\ddot{a}$hler-Hermitian symmetric space of rank $\geq 2$. This resolves a conjecture of F. Fang under the additional upper bound restrictions on section…
In this paper we prove the existence and uniqueness of the form-type Calabi-Yau equation on Kähler manifolds of nonnegative orthogonal bisectional curvature.
In this short note, using Siu-Yau's method [14], we give a new proof that any n-dimensional compact Kahler manifold with positive orthogonal bisectional curvature must be biholomorphic to $\mathbb{P}^n$.
In this short note we show the following result: Let $(M^{2n+1},g)$ ($n \geq 2$) be a compact Sasaki manifold with positive transverse orthogonal bisectional curvature. Then $π_1(M)$ is finite, and the universal cover of $(M^{2n+1},g)$ is isomorphic to a weighted Sasaki sphere. We also get some results in the case of nonnegative transverse orthogonal bisectional curvature under some additional conditions. This extends recent work of He and Sun. The proof uses Sasaki-Ricci flow.
In this paper, we prove that any complete shrinking gradient Kähler-Ricci solitons with positive orthogonal bisectional curvature must be compact. We also obtain a classification of the complete shrinking gradient Kähler-Ricci solitons with nonnegative orthogonal bisectional curvature.
In this paper we prove a gap theorem for Kähler manifolds with nonnegative orthogonal bisectional curvature and nonnegative Ricci curvature, which generalizes an earlier result of the first author. We also prove a Liouville theorem for plurisubharmonic functions on such a manifolds, which generalizes a previous result of L.-F. Tam and the first author.
In this paper we prove classification results for gradient shrinking Ricci solitons under two invariant conditions, namely nonnegative orthogonal bisectional curvature and weakly PIC1, without any curvature bound. New results on ancient solutions for the Ricci and Kähler-Ricci flow are also obtained. The main new feature is that no curvature upper bound is assumed.
In this article we study compact K\ahler manifolds satisfying a certain nonnegativity condition on the bisectional curvature. Under this condition, we show that the scalar curvature is nonnegative and that the first Chern class is positive assuming local irreducibility. We also obtain a partial classification of possible de Rham decompositions of the universal cover under this condition
For any complete noncompact K$\ddot{a}$hler manifold with nonnegative and bounded holomorphic bisectional curvature,we provide the necessary and sufficient condition for non-ancient solution to the Ricci flow in this paper.
We construct a compact Kähler manifold of nonnegative quadratic bisectional curvature, which does not admit any Kähler metric of nonnegative orthogonal bisectional curvature. The manifold is a 7-dimensional Kähler C-space with second Betti number equal to 1, and its canonical metric is a Kähler-Einstein metric of positive scalar curvature
We exhibit a curious link between the Quadratic Orthogonal Bisectional Curvature, combinatorics, and distance geometry. The Weitzenböck curvature operator, acting on real (1,1)--forms, is realized as the Dirichlet energy of a finite graph, weighted by a matrix of the curvature. These results also illuminate the difference in the nature of the Quadratic Orthogonal Bisectional Curvature and the Real Bisectional Curvature.
We show that a compact complex surface which admits a conformally Kähler metric g of positive orthogonal holomorphic bisectional curvature is biholomorphic to the complex projective plane. In addition, if g is a Hermitian metric which is Einstein, then the biholomorphism can be chosen to be an isometry via which g becomes a multiple of the Fubini-Study metric.
Let $M^n$ be a complete noncompact K$\ddot{a}$hler manifold of complex dimension $n$ with nonnegative holomorphic bisectional curvature. Denote by $\mathcal{O}$$_d(M^n)$ the space of holomorphic functions of polynomial growth of degree at most $d$ on $M^n$. In this paper we prove that $$dim_{\mathbb{C}}{\mathcal{O}}_d(M^n)\leq dim_{\mathbb{C}}{\mathcal{O}}_{[d]}(\mathbb{C}^n),$$ for all $d>0$, with equality for some positive integer $d$ if and only if $M^n$ is holomorphically isometric to $\mathbb{C}^n$. We also obtain sharp improved dimension estimates when its volume growth is not maximal or…
In this paper, we construct local and global solutions to the Kähler-Ricci flow from a non-collapsed Kähler manifold with curvature bounded from below. Combines with the mollification technique of McLeod-Simon-Topping, we show that the Gromov-Hausdorff limit of sequence of complete noncompact non-collapsed Kähler manifolds with orthogonal bisectional curvature and Ricci curvature bounded from below is homeomorphic to a complex manifold. We also use it to study the complex structure of complete Kähler manifolds with nonnegative orthogonal bisectional curvature, nonnegative Ricci curvature and m…
It is proved that solutions of the complex Monge-Ampère equation on compact Kähler manifolds with right hand side in $L^p, p>1$ are uniformly Hölder continuous under the assumption on non-negative orthogonal bisectional curvature.
This article aims to investigate the curvature operator of the second kind on Kähler manifolds. The first result states that an $m$-dimensional Kähler manifold with $\frac{3}{2}(m^2-1)$-nonnegative (respectively, $\frac{3}{2}(m^2-1)$-nonpositive) curvature operator of the second kind must have constant nonnegative (respectively, nonpositive) holomorphic sectional curvature. The second result asserts that a closed $m$-dimensional Kähler manifold with $\left(\frac{3m^3-m+2}{2m}\right)$-positive curvature operator of the second kind has positive orthogonal bisectional curvature, thus being biholo…
In this note, we introduce a new type of positivity condition for the curvature of a Hermitian manifold, which generalizes the notion of nonnegative quadratic orthogonal bisectional curvature to the non-Kähler case. We derive a Bochner formula for closed $(1, 1)$-forms from which this condition appears naturally and prove that if a Hermitian manifold satisfy our positivity condition, then any class $α\in H^{1, 1}_{BC}(X)$ can be represented by a closed $(1, 1)$-form which is parallel with respect to the Bismut connection. Lastly, we show that such a curvature positivity condition holds on cert…
We consider a subset $S$ of the complex Lie algebra $\so(n,\C)$ and the cone $C(S)$ of curvature operators which are nonnegative on $S$. We show that $C(S)$ defines a Ricci flow invariant curvature condition if $S$ is invariant under $\Ad_{\SO(n,\C)}$. The analogue for Kähler curvature operators holds as well. Although the proof is very simple and short it recovers all previously known invariant nonnegativity conditions. As an application we reprove that a compact Kähler manifold with positive orthogonal bisectional curvature evolves to a manifold with positive bisectional curvature and is thu…
Let $L$ be a holomorphic line bundle over a compact Kähler manifold $X$. Motivated by mirror symmetry, we study the deformed Hermitian-Yang-Mills equation on $L$, which is the line bundle analogue of the special Lagrangian equation in the case that $X$ is Calabi-Yau. We show that this equation is the Euler-Lagrange equation for a positive functional, and that solutions are unique global minimizers. We provide a necessary and sufficient criterion for existence in the case that $X$ is a Kähler surface. For the higher dimensional cases, we introduce a line bundle version of the Lagrangian mean cu…
We give a mathematical exposition of the Page metric, and introduce an efficient coordinate system for it. We carefully examine the submanifolds of the underlying smooth manifold, and show that the Page metric does not have positive holomorphic bisectional curvature. We exhibit a holomorphic subsurface with flat normal bundle. We also give another proof of the fact that a compact complex surface together with an Einstein-Hermitian metric of positive orthogonal bisectional curvature is biholomorphically isometric to the complex projective plane with its Fubini-Study metric up to rescaling. This…
The purpose of this paper is to prove that the Hermitian Curvature Flow (HCF) on an Hermitian manifold $(M,g,J)$ preserves many natural curvature positivity conditions. Following Wilking, for an $Ad\,{GL(T^{1,0}M)}$-invariant subset $S\subset End(T^{1,0}M)$ and a ncie function $F\colon End(T^{1,0}M)\to\mathbb R$ we construct a convex set of curvature operators $C(S,F)$, which is invariant under the HCF. Varying $S$ and $F$, we prove that the HCF preserves Griffiths positivity, Dual-Nakano positivity, positivity of holomorphic orthogonal bisectional curvature, lower bounds on the second scalar …
B Wilking has recently shown that one can associate a Ricci flow invariant cone of curvature operators $C(S)$, which are nonnegative in a suitable sense, to every $Ad_{SO(n,\C)}$ invariant subset $S \subset {\bf so}(n,\C)$. For curvature operators of a Kähler manifold of complex dimension $n$, one considers $Ad_{GL(n,\C)}$ invariant subsets $S \subset {\bf gl}(n,\C)$. In this article we show: (i) If $S$ is an $Ad_{SO(n,\C)}$ subset, then $C(S)$ is contained in the cone of curvature operators with nonnegative isotropic curvature and if $S$ is an $Ad_{GL(n,\C)}$ subset, then $C(S)$ is contained …
