We prove an analogue of the Sylvester theorem for the generator matrices of the quantum affine algebra ${\rm U}_q(\hat{\mathfrak{gl}}_n)$. We then use it to give an explicit realization of the skew representations of the quantum affine algebra. This allows one to identify them in a simple way by calculating their highest weight, Drinfeld polynomials and the Gelfand-Tsetlin character (or $q$-character). We also apply the quantum Sylvester theorem to construct a $q$-analogue of the Olshanski algebra as a projective limit of certain centralizers in ${\rm U}_q(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ and show that this limit algebra contains the $q$-Yangian as a subalgebra.
We establish Schur-Weyl reciprocity for the q-analogue of the alternating group. We analyze the sign q-permutation representation of the Hecke algebra on the tensor product of the super vector space V in detail, and examine its restriction to the q-analogue of the alternating group. In consequence, we find out that if the dimensions of even part and odd part of V are same, then the centralizer of the q-analogue of the alternating group is a Z_2-crossed product of the centralizer of the Hecke algebra and obtain Schur-Weyl reciprocity between them. Though the structure of the centralizer is more…
We extend a quantized skew Howe duality result for Type $\mathbf{A}$ algebras to orthogonal types via a seesaw. We develop an operator commutant version of the First Fundamental Theorem of invariant theory for $U_q(\mathfrak{so}_n)$ using a double centralizer property inside a quantized Clifford algebra. We obtain a multiplicity-free decomposition of tensor powers of the $U_q(\mathfrak{so}_{2n})$ spin representation by explicitly computing joint highest weights with respect to an action of $U_q(\mathfrak{so}_{2n}) \otimes U_q'(\mathfrak{so}_m)$. Clifford algebras are an essential feature of ou…
We develop an operator commutant version of the First Fundamental Theorem of invariant theory for the general linear quantum group $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ by using a double centralizer property inside a quantized Clifford algebra. In particular, we show that $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_m)$ generates the centralizer of the $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$-action on the tensor product of braided exterior algebras $\bigwedge_q(\mathbb{C}^n)^{\otimes m}$. We obtain a multiplicity-free decomposition of the $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_n) \otimes U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_m)$-module $\bigwedge_q(\mathbb{C}^n)^{\otimes m} \cong \bigwedge…
We introduce a skew analogue of the composition of the Cherednik and Drinfeld functors for twisted Yangians. Our definition is based on the skew Howe duality, and originates from the centralizer construction of twisted Yangians due to Olshanski. Using our functor, we establish a correspondence between intertwining operators on the tensor products of certain modules over twisted Yangians, and the extremal cocycle on the hyperoctahedral group.
The Yangian of the Lie algebra $gl_N$ has a distinguished family of irreducible finite-dimensional representations, called elementary representations. They are parametrized by pairs, consisting of a skew Young diagram and a complex number. Each of these representations has an explicit realization, it extends the classical realization of the irreducible polynomial representations of $gl_N$ by means of the Young symmetrizers. We explicitly construct analogues of these elementary representations for the twisted Yangian, which corresponds to the Lie algebra $so_N$. Our construction provides soluti…
Analogs of the classical Sylvester theorem have been known for matrices with entries in noncommutative algebras including the quantized algebra of functions on GL(N) and the Yangian for gl(N). We prove a version of this theorem for the twisted Yangians Y(g(N)) associated with the orthogonal and symplectic Lie algebras g(N)=o(N) or sp(N). This gives rise to representations of the twisted Yangian Y(g(N-M)) on the space of g(M)-homomorphisms Hom(W,V), where W and V are finite-dimensional irreducible modules over g(M) and g(N), respectively. In the symplectic case these representations turn out to…
To a depth two extension A | B, we associate the dual bialgebroids S := \End {}_BA_B and T := (A ø_B A)^B over the centralizer R=C_A(B). In the set-up where R is a subalgebra of B, which is quite common, two nondegenerate pairings of S and T will define an anti-automorphism τof the algebra S. Making use of a two-sided depth two structure, we prove that τis an antipode and S is a Hopf algebroid of a type we call skew Hopf algebra. A final section discusses how τand the nondegenerate pairings generalize to modules via the pi-method for depth two, and a certain derived mapping of cochain complexe…
We introduce an analogue of the composition of the Cherednik and Drinfeld functor for twisted Yangians. Our definition is based on the Howe duality, and originates from the centralizer construction of twisted Yangians due to Olshanski. Using our functor, we establish a correspondence between intertwining operators on the tensor products of certain modules over twisted Yangians, and the extremal cocycle on the hyperoctahedral group.
We introduce and study an affine analogue of skew Young diagrams and tableaux on them. It turns out that the double affine Hecke algebra of type $A$ acts on the space spanned by standard tableaux on each diagram. It is shown that the modules obtained this way are irreducible, and they exhaust all irreducible modules of a certain class over the double affine Hecke algebra. In particular, the classification of irreducible modules of this class, announced by Cherednik, is recovered.
We determine the finite-dimensional simple modules for two-parameter quantum groups corresponding to the general linear and special linear Lie algebras gl_n and sl_n, and give a complete reducibility result. These quantum groups have a natural n-dimensional module V. We prove an analogue of Schur-Weyl duality in this setting: the centralizer algebra of the quantum group action on the k-fold tensor power of V is a quotient of a Hecke algebra for all n and is isomorphic to the Hecke algebra in case n\geq k.
The aim of this paper is to introduce the notion of a mock-Lie bialgebra which is equivalent to a Manin triple of mock-Lie algebras. The study of a special case called coboundary mock-Lie bialgebra leads to the introduction the mock-Lie Yang-Baxter equation on a mock-Lie algebra which is an analogue of the classical Yang-Baxter equation on a Lie algebra. Note that a skew-symmetric solution of mock-Lie Yang-Baxter equation gives a mock-Lie bialgebra. Finally, the notation of $\mathcal O$-operators are studied to construct skew-symmetric solution of mock-Lie Yang-Baxter equation.
We introduce a notion of left-symmetric bialgebra which is an analogue of the notion of Lie bialgebra. We prove that a left-symmetric bialgebra is equivalent to a symplectic Lie algebra with a decomposition into a direct sum of the underlying vector spaces of two Lagrangian subalgebras. The latter is called a parakähler Lie algebra or a phase space of a Lie algebra in mathematical physics. We introduce and study coboundary left-symmetric bialgebras and our study leads to what we call "$S$-equation", which is an analogue of the classical Yang-Baxter equation. In a certain sense, the $S$-equatio…
Let $G_M$ be one of the complex Lie groups $O_M$ and $Sp_M$. The irreducible finite-dimensional representations of the group $G_M$ are labeled by partitions $μ$ satisfying certain extra conditions. Let $U$ be the representation of $G_M$ corresponding to $μ$. Regard the direct product $G_N\times G_M$ as a subgroup of $G_{N+M}$. Let $V$ be the irreducible representation of $G_{N+M}$ corresponding to a partition $λ$. Consider the vector space $W=Hom_{G_M}(U,V)$. It comes with a natural action of the group $G_N$. Let $n$ be sum of parts of $λ$ less the sum of parts of $μ$. For any choice of a stan…
Generalised quantum determinantal rings are the analogue in quantum matrices of Schubert varieties. Maximal orders are the noncommutative version of integrally closed rings. In this paper, we show that generalised quantum determinantal rings are maximal orders. The cornerstone of the proof is a description of generalised quantum determinantal rings, up to a localisation, as skew polynomial extensions.
We introduce an analogue of the $q$-Schur algebra associated to Coxeter systems of type $\hat A_{n-1}$. We give two constructions of this algebra. The first construction realizes the algebra as a certain endomorphism algebra arising from an affine Hecke algebra of type $\hat A_{r-1}$, where $n \geq r$. This generalizes the original $q$-Schur algebra as defined by Dipper and James, and the new algebra contains the ordinary $q$-Schur algebra and the affine Hecke algebra as subalgebras. Using this approach we can prove a double centralizer property. The second construction realizes the affine $q$…
Let $GL_M$ be general linear Lie group over the complex field. The irreducible rational representations of the group $GL_M$ are labeled by pairs of partitions $μ$ and $\tildeμ$ such that the total number of non-zero parts of $μ$ and $\tildeμ$ does not exceed $M$. Let $U$ be the representation of $GL_M$ corresponding to such a pair. Regard the direct product $GL_N\times GL_M$ as a subgroup of $GL_{N+M}$. Let $V$ be the irreducible rational representation of the group $GL_{N+M}$ corresponding to a pair of partitions $λ$ and $\tildeλ$. Consider the vector space $W=Hom_{G_M}(U,V)$. It comes with a…
We define cylindric generalisations of skew Macdonald functions when one of their parameters is set to zero. We define these functions as weighted sums over cylindric skew tableaux: fixing two integers n>2 and k>0 we shift an ordinary skew diagram of two partitions, viewed as a subset of the two-dimensional integer lattice, by the period vector (n,-k). Imposing a periodicity condition one defines cylindric skew tableaux as a map from the periodically continued skew diagram into the integers. The resulting cylindric Macdonald functions appear in the coproduct of a commutative Frobenius algebra,…
For any semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, the universal enveloping algebra of the infinite-dimensional pro-nilpotent Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_-:=\mathfrak{g}\otimes t^{-1}\mathbb{C}[t^{-1}]$ contains a large commutative subalgebra $\mathcal{A}\subset U(\mathfrak{g}_-)$. This subalgebra comes from the center of the universal enveloping of the affine Kac--Moody algebra $\hat{\mathfrak{g}}$ at the critical level and gives rise to the construction of higher hamiltonians of the Gaudin model (due to Feigin, Frenkel and Reshetikhin). Though there are no explicit formulas for the generators of $…
