A Mass Transference Principle for systems of linear forms and its applications

In this paper we establish a general form of the Mass Transference Principle for systems of linear forms conjectured in [1]. We also present a number of applications of this result to problems in Diophantine approximation. These include a general transference of Lebesgue measure Khintchine-Groshev type theorems to Hausdorff measure statements. The statements we obtain are applicable in both the homogeneous and inhomogeneous settings as well as allowing transference under any additional constraints on approximating integer points. On transfer inequalities in Diophantine approximation, II

We refine Khintchine Transference Principle which relates the measure of simultaneous rational approximation of an $n$ real numbers with the measure of linear independence of these $n$ numbers. Khintchine's inequalities are known to be optimal. However, they may be sharpened by taking into account two further uniform exponents.

On transfer inequalities in Diophantine approximation

Let $Θ$ be a point in ${\bf R}^n$. We split the classical Khintchine's Transference Principle into $n-1$ intermediate estimates which connect exponents $ω_d(Θ)$ measuring the sharpness of the approximation to $Θ$ by linear rational varieties of dimension $d$, for $0\le d \le n-1$. In this article we discuss the Mass Transference Principle due to Beresnevich and Velani and survey several generalisations and variants, both deterministic and random. Using a Hausdorff measure analogue of the inhomogeneous Khintchine-Groshev Theorem, proved recently via an extension of the Mass Transference Principle to systems of linear forms, we give an alternative proof of a general inhomogeneous Jarn\'ık-Besicovitch Theorem which was originally proved by Levesley. Kissing numbers and transference theorems from generalized tail bounds

We generalize Banaszczyk's seminal tail bound for the Gaussian mass of a lattice to a wide class of test functions. From this we obtain quite general transference bounds, as well as bounds on the number of lattice points contained in certain bodies. As applications, we bound the lattice kissing number in $\ell_p$ norms by $e^{(n+ o(n))/p}$ for $0 < p \leq 2$, and also give a proof of a new transference bound in the $\ell_1$ norm.

$S$-arithmetic Inhomogeneous Diophantine approximation on manifolds

We prove $S$-arithmetic inhomogeneous Khintchine type theorems on analytic nondegenerate manifolds. The divergence case, which constitutes the main substance of this paper, is proved in the general context of Hausdorff measures using ubiquitous systems. For $S$ consisting of more than one prime, finite or infinite, the divergence results are new even in the homogeneous setting. Simultaneous p-adic Diophantine approximation

The goal of this paper is to develop the theory of weighted Diophantine approximation of rational numbers to $p$-adic numbers. Firstly, we establish complete analogues of Khintchine's theorem, the Duffin-Schaeffer theorem and the Jarník-Besicovitch theorem for `weighted' simultaneous Diophantine approximation in the $p$-adic case. Secondly, we obtain a lower bound for the Hausdorff dimension of weighted simultaneously approximable points lying on $p$-adic manifolds. In the present paper we generalise transference theorems from the classical geometry of numbers to the geometry of numbers over the ring of adeles of a number field. To this end we introduce a notion of polarity for adelic convex bodies.
