We relate Leibniz homology to cyclic homology by studying a map from a long exact sequence in the Leibniz theory to the ISB periodicity sequence in the cyclic theory. This provides a setting by which the two theories can be compared via the 5-lemma. We then show that the Godbillon-Vey invariant, as detected by the Leibniz homology of formal vector fields, maps to the Godbillon-Vey invariant as detected by the cyclic homology of the universal enveloping algebra of these vector fields.
In this paper we apply homotopical localization to the framework of differential graded algebras over an operad. We get plus construction by performing nullification with respect to an universal acyclic algebra. This plus construction for Lie and Leibniz algebras up to homotopy yields two new homology theories for associative algebras. They are closely related to cyclic and Hochschild homologies. We also compute their first homology groups.
The Hochschild and (cotriple) cyclic homologies of crossed modules of (not-necessarily-unital) associative algebras are investigated. Wodzicki's excision theorem is extended for inclusion crossed modules in the category of crossed modules of algebras. The cyclic and cotriple cyclic homologies of crossed modules are compared in terms of long exact homology sequence, generalising the relative cyclic homology exact sequence.
We study the Hochschild and cyclic homologies of noncommutative monogenic extensions. As an aplication we compute the Hochschild and cyclic homologies of the rank~1 Hopf algebras introduced by L. Krop and D. Radford in [Finite dimensional Hopf algebras of rank 1 in characteristic 0, Journal of Algebra 302, no. 1, 214-230} (2006)].
In this paper we construct "structural" pre-braidings characterizing different algebraic structures: a rack, an associative algebra, a Leibniz algebra and their representations. Some of these pre-braidings seem original. On the other hand, we propose a general homology theory for pre-braided vector spaces and braided modules, based on the quantum co-shuffle comultiplication. Applied to the structural pre-braidings above, it gives a generalization and a unification of many known homology theories. All the constructions are categorified, resulting in particular in their super- and co-versions. L…
Motivated by the fact that the Hopf-cyclic (co)homologies of function algebras over Lie groups and universal enveloping algebras over Lie algebras capture the Lie group and Lie algebra (co)homologies, we hereby upgrade the classical van Est isomorphism to ones between the Hopf-cyclic (co)homologies of quantized algebras of functions and quantized universal enveloping algebras, both in $h$-adic and $q$-deformation frameworks.
In the present paper the cyclic homology functor from the category of $A_\infty$-algebras over any commutative unital ring $K$ to the category of graded $K$-modules is constructed. Further, it is showed that this functor sends homotopy equivalences of $A_\infty$-algebras into isomorphisms of graded modules. As a corollary, it is obtained that the cyclic homology of an $A_\infty$-algebra over any field is isomorphic to the cyclic homology of the $A_\infty$-algebra of homologies for the source $A_\infty$-algebra.
In this paper we identify many striking elements in Leibniz (co)homology which arise from characteristic classes and K-theory. For a group G a field k of characteristic zero, it is shown that all primary characteristic classes, i.e. H^*(BG; k), naturally inject into certain Leibniz cohomology groups via an explicit chain map. Moreover, if f: A \to B is a homomorphism of algebras or rigns, the relative Leibniz homology groups HL_*(f) are defined, and if in addition f is surjective with nilpotent kernel, A and B algebras over the rationals, then there is a natural surjection HL_{*+1}(gl(f)) \to …
For simplicial modules, Eilenberg-Zilber's classical theorem states the existence of a product $sh : M\otimes N\to M\times N$ (the shuffle) and a coproduct $AW : M\times N\to M\otimes N$ (the Alexander-Whitney map), which are quasi-inverse of eachother. A cyclic version of this theorem was established in 1987 by Hood and Jones: they proved that $sh$ and $AW$ admit "coextensions" $sh_\infty$ and $AW_\infty$, using an acyclic-model method. Besides, an explicit formula for $sh_\infty$ has been discovered by several authors. But the question remained open of such an explicit formula for $AW_\infty…
Etale groupoids arise naturally as models for leaf spaces of foliations, for orbifolds, and for orbit spaces of discrete group actions. In this paper we introduce a sheaf homology theory for etale groupoids. We prove its invariance under Morita equivalence, as well as Verdier duality between Haefliger cohomology and this homology. We also discuss the relation to the cyclic and Hochschild homologies of Connes' convolution algebra of the groupoid, and derive some spectral sequences which serve as a tool for the computation of these homologies.
We define a Hopf cyclic (co)homology theory in an arbitrary symmetric strict monoidal category. Thus we unify all different types of Hopf cyclic (co)homologies under one single universal theory. We recover Hopf cyclic (co)homology of module algebras, comodule algebras and module coalgebras along with Hopf-Hochschild (co)homology of module algebras. This universal theory also allows us to define the missing Hopf cyclic theory for comodule coalgebras.
The universal central extensions and their extension kernels of the matrix Lie superalgebra sl(m, n, A), the Steinberg Lie superalgebra st(m, n, A) in category {\bf SLeib} of Leibniz superalgebras are determined under a weak assumption (compared with \cite{MP}) using the first Hochschild homology and the first cyclic homology group.
We use the Beilinson $t$-structure on filtered complexes and the Hochschild-Kostant-Rosenberg theorem to construct filtrations on the negative cyclic and periodic cyclic homologies of a scheme $X$ with graded pieces given by the Hodge-completion of the derived de Rham cohomology of $X$. Such filtrations have previously been constructed by Loday in characteristic zero and by Bhatt-Morrow-Scholze for $p$-complete negative cyclic and periodic cyclic homology in the quasisyntomic case.
The aim of this note is to show that the generalized supertrace, constructed in another paper of the author, inducing an isomorphism between the Hochschild homology of a superalgebra and that of the superalgebra of square supermatrices of a given type over $A$, induces, also, an isomorphism between the cyclic homologies of the two superalgebras.
We compute the cyclic homology for the cross-product al- gebra $A(M)\rtimesΓ$ of the algebra of complete symbols on a compact man- ifold $M$ with action of a finite group $Γ$. A spectral sequence argument shows that these groups can be identified using deRham cohomology of the fixed point manifolds $S ^*M ^g$ . In the process we obtain new re- sults about the homologies of general cross-product algebras and provide explicit identification of the homologies for $C^{\infty}(M)\rtimes Γ$.
We define Hochschild and cyclic homologies for bornological coarse spaces: for a fixed field $k$ and group $G$, these are lax symmetric monoidal functors $\mathcal{X}HH_{k}^G$ and $\mathcal{X}HC_{k}^G$ from the category of equivariant bornological coarse spaces $G\mathbf{BornCoarse}$ to the cocomplete stable $\infty$-category of chain complexes $\mathbf{Ch}_\infty$. We relate these equivariant coarse homology theories to coarse algebraic $K$-theory $\mathcal{X} K^G_{k}$ and to coarse ordinary homology $\mathcal{X} H^G$ by constructing a trace-like natural transformation $\mathcal{X} K_{k}^G\to…
The goal of this paper is to establish fundamental properties of the Hochschild, topological Hochschild, and topological cyclic homologies of commutative, Noetherian rings, which are assumed only to be F-finite in the majority of our results. This mild hypothesis is satisfied in all cases of interest in finite and mixed characteristic algebraic geometry. We prove firstly that the topological Hochschild homology groups, and the homotopy groups of the fixed point spectra $TR^r$, are finitely generated modules. We use this to establish the continuity of these homology theories for any given ideal…
Let k be a commutative algebra with the field of the rational numbers included in k and let (E,p,i) be a cleft extension of A. We obtain a new mixed complex, simpler than the canonical one, giving the Hochschild and cyclic homologies of E relative to ker(p). This complex resembles the canonical reduced mixed complex of an augmented algebra. We begin the study of our complex showing that it has a harmonic decomposition like to the one considered by Cuntz and Quillen for the normalized mixed complex of an algebra.
Let k be a characteristic zero field, C a k-algebra and M a square zero two sided ideal of C. We obtain a new mixed complex, simpler that the canonical one, giving the Hochschild and cyclic homologies of C relative to M. This complex resembles the canonical reduced mixed complex of an augmented algebra. We begin the study of our complex showing that it has a harmonic decomposition like to the one considered by Cuntz and Quillen for the normalized mixed complex of an algebra. We also give new proofs of two theorems of Goodwillie, obtaining an improvement of one of them.
Let H be a graded Hecke algebra with complex deformation parameters and Weyl group W. We show that the Hochschild, cyclic and periodic cyclic homologies of H are all independent of the parameters, and compute them explicitly. We use this to prove that, if the deformation parameters are real, the collection of irreducible tempered H-modules with real central character forms a Q-basis of the representation ring of W. Our method involves a new interpretation of the periodic cyclic homology of finite type algebras, in terms of the cohomology of a sheaf over the underlying complex affine variety.
The central result here is an explicit computation of the Hochschild and cyclic homologies of a natural smooth subalgebra of stable continuous trace algebras having smooth manifolds X as their spectrum. More precisely, the Hochschild homology is identified with the space of differential forms on X, and the periodic cyclic homology with the twisted de Rham cohomology of X, thereby generalizing some fundamental results of Connes and Hochschild-Kostant-Rosenberg. The Connes-Chern character is also identified here with the twisted Chern character.
We obtain a mixed complex simpler than the canonical one the computes the type cyclic homologies of a crossed product with invertible cocycle $A\times_ρ^f H$, of a weak module algebra $A$ by a weak Hopf algebra $H$. This complex is provided with a filtration. The spectral sequence of this filtration generalizes the spectral sequence obtained in \cite{CGG}. When $f$ takes its values in a separable subalgebra of $A$ that satisfies suitable conditions, the above mentioned mixed complex is provided with another filtration, whose spectral sequence generalize the Feigin-Tsygan spectral sequence.
