We study the geometry of a family of Lie groups, which contained the classical affine Lie groups, endowed with an exact left invariant symplectic form. We show that this family is closed by symplectic reduction and symplectic double extension in the sense of Dardié and Medina. We prouve also that these groups are endowed with two transverse left invariant Lagrangian (resp. Symplectic) foliations. This implies that these groups admit a left invariant torsion free symplectic connection.
A Lie version of Turaev's $\overline{G}$-Frobenius algebras from 2-dimensional homotopy quantum field theory is proposed. The foundation for this Lie version is a structure we call a \textit{$\frak{g}$-quasi-Frobenius Lie algebra} for $\frak{g}$ a finite dimensional Lie algebra. The latter consists of a quasi-Frobenius Lie algebra $(\frak{q},β)$ together with a left $\frak{g}$-module structure which acts on $\frak{q}$ via derivations and for which $β$ is $\frak{g}$-invariant. Geometrically, $\frak{g}$-quasi-Frobenius Lie algebras are the Lie algebra structures associated to symplectic Lie grou…
The associativity of the multiplication on a Frobenius manifold is equivalent to the WDVV equation of a symmetric cubic form in flat coordinates. Frobenius manifold could be regarded a very special type of statistical manifold. There is a natural commutative product on each tangent space of a statistical manifold. We show that it is associative, hence making it into a manifold with Frobenius algebra structure, if and only if the sectional $K$-curvature vanishes. In other words, WDVV equation is equivalent to zero sectional $K$-curvature. This gives a curvature interpretation for WDVV equation.
We prove a Frobenius theorem for Banach distributions on manifolds that are modelled over locally convex spaces. Moreover, we recall how Frobenius theorems can be applied to infinite-dimensional Lie groups and obtain, that given a Lie subalgebra of the Lie algebra of a Lie group that is modelled over a locally convex space that admits an exponential map, the Lie subalgebra is integrable if it is complemented as a topological vector space and a Banach space with the induced topology.
We prove that the information geometry's Frobenius manifold is a symplectic manifold having Poisson structures. By proving this statement, a bridge is created between the theories developed by Vinberg, Souriau and Koszul and the Frobenius manifold approach. Until now these approaches seemed disconnected.
We study the geometry and partial differential equations arising from the consideration of Frobenius determinants, also called-group-determinants. This leads us to address some aspects of twistor theory as well as some extensions of Bessel functions.
Main mathematical applications of Frobenius manifolds are in the theory of Gromov - Witten invariants, in singularity theory, in differential geometry of the orbit spaces of reflection groups and of their extensions, in the hamiltonian theory of integrable hierarchies. The theory of Frobenius manifolds establishes remarkable relationships between these, sometimes rather distant, mathematical theories.
A symplectic Lie group is a Lie group with a left-invariant symplectic form. Its Lie algebra structure is that of a quasi-Frobenius Lie algebra. In this note, we identify the groupoid analogue of a symplectic Lie group. We call the aforementioned structure a \textit{$t$-symplectic Lie groupoid}; the "$t$" is motivated by the fact that each target fiber of a $t$-symplectic Lie groupoid is a symplectic manifold. For a Lie groupoid $\mathcal{G}\rightrightarrows M$, we show that there is a one-to-one correspondence between quasi-Frobenius Lie algebroid structures on $A\mathcal{G}$ (the associated …
We investigate the properties of principal elements of Frobenius Lie algebras, following the work of M. Gerstenhaber and A. Giaquinto. We prove that any Lie algebra with a left symmetric algebra structure can be embedded, in a natural way, as a subalgebra of some sl(m,K), for K= R or C. Hence, the work of Belavin and Drinfeld on solutions of the Classical Yang-Baxter Equation on simple Lie algebras, applied to the particular case of sl(m, K) alone, paves the way to the complete classification of Frobenius and more generally quasi-Frobenius Lie algebras. We prove that, if a Frobenius Lie algebr…
Recently, it has been shown that the statistical manifold, related to exponential families, has a Frobenius manifold structure and appears as the fourth class of Frobenius manifolds. It has a structure of a projective manifold over a rank two Frobenius algebra $\frak{A}$, being the algebra of paracomplex numbers and generated by $1, ε$ such that $ε^2=1$. This result is a key step towards an algebraization of the results concerning the manifold of probability distributions and thus offers a new perspective on it. In this paper, we prove that the fourth Frobenius manifold is decomposed into a pa…
The recently discovered fourth class of Frobenius manifolds by Combe--Manin in opened and highlighted new geometric domains to explore. The guiding mantra of this article is to show the existence of hidden geometric aspects of the fourth Frobenius manifold, which turns out to be related to so-called causality conditions. Firstly, it is proved that the fourth class of Frobenius manifolds is a Pseudo-Elliptic one. Secondly, this manifold turns out to be a sub-manifold of a non-orientable Lorentzian projective manifold. Thirdly, Maurer--Cartan structures for this manifold and hidden geometrical p…
We show that a Frobenius sturcture is equivalent to a dually flat sturcture in information geometry. We define a multiplication structure on the tangent spaces of statistical manifolds, which we call the statistical product. We also define a scalar quantity, which we call the Yukawa term. By showing two examples from statistical mechanics, first the classical ideal gas, second the quantum bosonic ideal gas, we argue that the Yukawa term quantifies information generation, which resembles how mass is generated via the 3-points interaction of two fermions and a Higgs boson (Higgs mechanism). In t…
In this paper we describe the geometry of distributions by their symmetries, and present a simplified proof of the Frobenius theorem and some related corollaries. Then, we study the geometry of solutions of $F-$Gordon equation; A PDE which appears in differential geometry and relativistic field theory.
This paper is based on the author's talk at 1997 Taniguchi Symposium ``Integrable Systems and Algebraic Geometry''. We consider an approach to the theory of Frobenius manifolds based on the geometry of flat pencils of contravariant metrics. It is shown that, under certain homogeneity assumptions, these two objects are identical. The flat pencils of contravariant metrics on a manifold $M$ appear naturally in the classification of bihamiltonian structures of hydrodynamics type on the loop space $L(M)$. This elucidates the relations between Frobenius manifolds and integrable hierarchies.
New relations between algebraic geometry, information theory and Topological Field Theory are developed. One considers models of databases subject to noise i.e. probability distributions on finite sets, related to exponential families. We prove explicitly that these manifolds have the structure of a pre-Frobenius manifold, being a pre-structure appearing in the process of axiomatisation of Topological Field Theory. On one hand, this allows us to develop relations to algebraic geometry, by proving explicitly that a statistical pre-Frobenius manifold forms an algebraic variety over $\mathbb{Q}$ …
The Drinfeld - Sokolov construction associates a hierarchy of bihamiltonian integrable systems with every untwisted affine Lie algebra. We compute the complete set of invariants of the related bihamiltonian structures with respect to the group of Miura type transformations.
We are interested in the class, in the Elie Cartan sense, of left invariant forms on a Lie group. We construct the class of Lie algebras provided with a contact form and classify the frobeniusian Lie algebras up to a contraction. We also study forms which are invariant by a subgroup. We show that the simple group SL(2n,R) which doesn't admit left invariant contact form, yet admits a contact form which is invariant by a maximal compact subgroup. We determine also Pfaffian forms on the Heisenberg $3$-dimensional group invariant by a subgroup and obtain the Transport Equation.
We define certain extensions of Jacobi groups of $A_n$, prove an analogue of Chevalley Theorem for their invariants, and construct a Dubrovin Frobenius structure on it orbit space.
We describe the structure of the Lie groups endowed with a left-invariant symplectic form, called symplectic Lie groups, in terms of semi-direct products of Lie groups, symplectic reduction and principal bundles with affine fiber. This description is particularly nice if the group is Hamiltonian, that is, if the left canonical action of the group on itself is Hamiltonian. The principal tool used for our description is a canonical affine structure associated with the symplectic form. We also characterize the Hamiltonian symplectic Lie groups among the connected symplectic Lie groups. We special…
