Continuous solutions of nonlinear Cauchy-Riemann equations and pseudoholomorphic curves in normal coordinates

We establish elliptic regularity for nonlinear inhomogeneous Cauchy-Riemann equations under minimal assumptions, and give a counterexample in a borderline case. In some cases where the inhomogeneous term has a separable factorization, the solution set can be explicitly calculated. The methods also give local parametric formulas for pseudoholomorphic curves with respect to some continuous almost complex structures.

Pseudoholomorphic discs and symplectic structures in Hilbert space

We develop the theory of $J$-holomorphic discs in Hilbert spaces with almost complex structures. As an aplication, we prove a version of Gromov's symplectic non-squeezing theorem for Hilbert spaces. It can be applied to short-time symplectic flows of a wide class of Hamiltonian PDEs.

Diffeomorphisms of Stein structures

We prove that a pseudoholomorphic diffeomorphism between two almost complex manifolds with boundaries satisfying some pseudoconvexity type condition cannot map a pseudoholomorphic disc in the boundary to a single point. This can be viewed as an almost complex analogue of a well-known theorem of J. E. Fornaess.

Symmetries of almost complex structures and pseudoholomorphic foliations

Generically an almost complex structure has no symmetries at all, but there exist symmetric structures. In this paper we describe how to guarantee that the pseudogroup of local symmetries is small (finite-dimensional). It will be indicated that a large symmetry pseudogroup (infinite-dimensional) is a signature of some integrable structure, like a pseudoholomorphic foliation. This article mainly aims to overview the recent efforts on developing algebraic geometry for an arbitrary compact almost complex manifold. Branch structure of J-holomorphic curves near periodic orbits of a contact manifold

Let $M$ be a three-dimensional contact manifold and $ψ:D\setminus\{0\}\to M\times{\Bbb R}$ a finite-energy pseudoholomorphic map from a punctured disc in ${\Bbb C}$, that is asymptotic to a periodic orbit of the Reeb vector field. Speeds of convergence of orbits of non-elliptic semigroups of holomorphic self-maps of the unit disc

We introduce three quantities related to orbits of non-elliptic continuous semigroups of holomorphic self-maps of the unit disc, the total speed, the orthogonal speed and the tangential speed and show how they are related and what can be inferred from those.
