We construct the action of the quantum group U_v(sl_n) by the natural correspondences in the equivariant localized $K$-theory of the Laumon based Quasiflags' moduli spaces. The resulting module is the universal Verma module. We construct geometrically the Shapovalov scalar product and the Whittaker vectors. It follows that a certain generating function of the characters of the global sections of the structure sheaves of the Laumon moduli spaces satisfies a $v$-difference analogue of the quantum Toda lattice system, reproving the main theorem of Givental-Lee. The similar constructions are performed for the affine Lie agebra \hat{sl}_n.
Applying recent ideas of Carlet, Dubrovin and Zhang (to appear), who, following a suggestion of Eguchi and Yang (hep-th/9407134), study the logarithm of the Lax operator of the Toda lattice, we show that the equivariant Toda lattice introduced in math.AG/0207025 is a Hamiltonian integrable system.
We study a reduction of the Toda lattice in the limit of infintesimal lattice spacing. Using this reduction, we formulate a conjecture for the equivariant Gromov-Witten invariants of the sphere, which we prove in genus 0. This conjecture follows from recent work of Okounkov and Pandharipande (math.AG/0207233), combined with results from the sequel to this paper.
Okounkov and Pandharipande proved that the equivariant Toda hierarchy governs the equivariant Gromov-Witten theory of $\mathbb{CP}^1$. A technical clue of their method is a pair of dressing operators on the Fock space of 2D charged free fermion fields. We reformulate these operators as difference operators in the Lax formalism of the 2D Toda hierarchy. This leads to a new explanation to the question of why the equivariant Toda hierarchy emerges in the equivariant Gromov-Witten theory of $\mathbb{CP}^1$. Moreover, the non-equivariant limit of these operators turns out to capture the integrable …
Let $\CP^1_{k,m}$ be the orbifold structure on $\CP^1$ obtained via uniformizing the neighborhoods of 0 and $\infty$ respectively by $z\mapsto z^k$ and $w\mapsto w^m.$ The diagonal action of the torus on the projective line induces naturally an orbifold action on $\CP^1_{k,m}.$ In this paper we prove that if k and m are co-prime then Givental's prediction of the equivariant total descendent Gromov-Witten potential of $\CP^1_{k,m}$ satisfies certain Hirota Quadratic Equations (HQE for short). We also show that after an appropriate change of the variables, similar to Getzler's change in the equi…
We discuss relations of Vafa's quantum cohomology with Floer's homology theory, introduce equivariant quantum cohomology, formulate some conjectures about its general properties and, on the basis of these conjectures, compute quantum cohomology algebras of the flag manifolds. The answer turns out to coincide with the algebra of regular functions on an invariant lagrangian variety of a Toda lattice.
We prove the Givental conjecture that the (equivariant) quantum cohomology of flag manifolds G/B are governed by the conservation law of Toda lattices. In addition, we find the quantum differential module structure of the flag manifolds.
We show that the k-double Schur functions defined by the authors, and the quantum double Schubert polynomials studied by Kirillov and Maeno and by Ciocan-Fontanine and Fulton, can be obtained from each other by an explicit rational substitution. The main new ingredient is an explicit computation of Kostant's solution to the Toda lattice in terms of equivariant Schubert classes.
We study the equivariant sheaf counting theory on K3 surfaces with finite group actions. Let $\sS=[S/G]$ be a global quotient stack, where $S$ is a K3 surface and $G$ is a finite group acting as symplectic homomorphisms on $S$. We show that the Joyce invariants counting Gieseker semistable sheaves on $\sS$ are independent on the Bridgeland stability conditions. As an application we prove the multiple cover formula of Y. Toda for the counting invariants for semistable sheaves on local K3 surfaces with a symplectic finite group action.
We conjecture that appropriate K-theoretic Gromov-Witten invariants of complex flag manifolds G/B are governed by finite-difference versions of Toda systems constructed in terms of the Langlands-dual quantized universal enveloping algebras U_q(g'). The conjecture is proved in the case of classical flag manifolds of the series A. The proof is based on a refinement of the famous Atiyah-Hirzebruch argument for rigidity of arithmetical genus applied to hyperquot-scheme compactifications of spaces of rational curves in the flag manifolds.

We study the singularities of algebraic difference equations on curves from the point of view of equivariant sheaves. We propose a definition for the formal local type of an equivariant sheaf at a point in the case of a reduced curve acted on by a group which is virtually the integers. We show that with this definition, equivariant sheaves can be glued from an "open cover". Precisely, we show that an equivariant sheaf can be uniquely recovered from the following data: the restriction to the complement of a point, the local type at the point itself, and an isomorphism between the two over the p…
High rank solutions to the 2D Toda Lattice System are constructed simultaneously with the effective calculation of coefficients of the high rank commuting ordinary difference operators. Our technic is based on the study of discrete dynamics of Tyurin Parameters characterizing the stable holomorphic vector bundles over the algebraic curves (Riemann Surfaces).

We introduce the shifted quantum affine algebras. They map homomorphically into the quantized $K$-theoretic Coulomb branches of $3d\ {\mathcal N}=4$ SUSY quiver gauge theories. In type $A$, they are endowed with a coproduct, and they act on the equivariant $K$-theory of parabolic Laumon spaces. In type $A_1$, they are closely related to the open relativistic quantum Toda lattice of type $A$.
In Part II, we saw how genus-0 permutation-equivariant quantum K-theory of a manifold with isolated fixed points of a torus action can be reduced via fixed point localization to permutation-equivariant quantum K-theory of the point. In Part III, we gave a complete description of genus-0 permutation-equivariant quantum K-theory of the point by means of adelic characterization. Here we apply the adelic characterization to introduce the action on this theory of a certain group of $q$-difference operators. This action will enable us to prove that toric $q$-hypergeometric functions represent K-theo…
We define quantum equivariant K-theory of Nakajima quiver varieties. We discuss type A in detail as well as its connections with quantum XXZ spin chains and trigonometric Ruijsenaars-Schneider models. Finally we study a limit which produces a K-theoretic version of results of Givental and Kim, connecting quantum geometry of flag varieties and Toda lattice.
New reductions of the 2D Toda equations associated with low-triangular difference operators are proposed. Their explicit Hamiltonian description is obtained.
We consider the system of quantum differential equations for a partial flag variety and construct a basis of solutions in the form of multidimensional hypergeometric functions, that is, we construct a Landau-Ginzburg mirror for that partial flag variety. In our construction, the solutions are labeled by elements of the $K$-theory algebra of the partial flag variety. To establish these facts we consider the equivariant quantum differential equations for a partial flag variety and introduce a compatible system of difference equations, which we call the qKZ equations. We construct a basis of solu…
This paper defines and studies permutation representations on the equivariant cohomology of Schubert varieties, as representations both over C and over C[t_1, t_2,...,t_n]. We show these group actions are the same as an action of simple transpositions studied geometrically by M. Brion, and give topological meaning to the divided difference operators studied by Berstein-Gelfand-Gelfand, Demazure, Kostant-Kumar, and others. We analyze these representations using the combinatorial approach to equivariant cohomology introduced by Goresky-Kottwitz-MacPherson. We find that each permutation represent…
In Part VII, we proved that the range of the big J-function in permutation-equivariant genus-0 quantum K-theory is an overruled cone, and gave its adelic characterization. Here we show that the ruling spaces are D_q-modules in Novikov's variables, and moreover, that the whole cone is invariant under a large group of symmetries defined in terms of q-difference operators. We employ this for the explicit reconstruction of the cone from one point on it, and apply the result to toric target spaces, when such a point is given by the q-hypergeometric function.
Let g be a semi-simple Lie algebra. In this paper we study the spaces of based quasi-maps from the projective line P^1 to the flag variety of g (it is well-known that their singularities are supposed to model the singularities of the so called semi-infinite Schubert varieties which are hard to define directly). In the first part of the paper we show that the above spaces are normal and in the case when g is simply laced they are also Gorenstein and have rational singularities. In the second part of the paper we compute the character of the ring of functions on the above spaces; in view of the …
Let $X$ be a topological space upon which a compact connected Lie group $G$ acts. It is well-known that the equivariant cohomology $H_G^*(X;\Q)$ is isomorphic to the subalgebra of Weyl group invariants of the equivariant cohomology $H_T^*(X;\Q)$, where $T$ is a maximal torus of $G$. This relationship breaks down for coefficient rings $\k$ other than $\Q$. Instead, we prove that under a mild condition on $\k$ the algebra $H_G^*(X,\k)$ is isomorphic to the subalgebra of $H_T^*(X,\k)$ annihilated by the divided difference operators.
Bezrukavnikov-Finkelberg-Mirković [Compos. Math. {\bf 141} (2005)] identified the equivariant $K$-group of an affine Grassmannian, that we refer as (the coordinate ring of) a BFM space á là Teleman [Proc. ICM Seoul (2014)], with a version of Toda lattice. We give a new system of generators and relations of a certain localization of this space, that can be seen as a version of its Darboux coordinate. This establishes a conjecture in Finkelberg-Tymbaliuk [Progress in Math. {\bf 300} (2019)] that relates the BFM space of a connected reductive algebraic group with those of Levi subgroups.
We extract genus $0$ consequences of the all genera quantum HRR formula proved in Part IX. This includes re-proving and generalizing the adelic characterization of genus $0$ quantum K-theory found in [Givental A., Tonita V., in Symplectic, Poisson, and Noncommutative Geometry, <I>Math. Sci. Res. Inst. Publ.</I>, Vol. 62, Cambridge University Press, New York, 2014, 43-91]. Extending some results of Part VIII, we derive the invariance of a certain variety (the "big J-function"), constructed from the genus $0$ descendant potential of permutation-equivariant quantum K-theory, under the action of c…
In arXiv:1901.02990v1 the equivariant quantum differential equation ($qDE$) for a projective space was considered and a compatible system of difference $qKZ$ equations was introduced; the space of solutions to the joint system of the $qDE$ and $qKZ$ equations was identified with the space of the equivariant $K$-theory algebra of the projective space; Stokes bases in the space of solutions were identified with exceptional bases in the equivariant $K$-theory algebra. This paper is a continuation of arXiv:1901.02990v1. We describe the relation between solutions to the joint system of the $qDE$ an…
Givental's $K$-theoretical $J$-function can be used to reconstruct genus zero $K$-theoretical Gromov--Witten invariants. We view this function as a fundamental solution of a $q$-difference system. In the case of projective spaces, we show that we can use the confluence of $q$-difference systems to obtain the cohomological $J$-function from its $K$-theoretic analogue. This provides another point of view to one of the statements of Givental--Tonita's quantum Hirzebruch--Riemann--Roch theorem. Furthermore, we compute connection numbers in the equivariant setting.
M. Toda in 1967 (\textit{J. Phys. Soc. Japan}, \textbf{22} and \textbf{23}) considered a lattice model with exponential interaction and proved, as suggested by the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam experiments in the 1950s, that it has exact periodic and soliton solutions. The Toda lattice, as it came to be known, was then extensively studied as one of the completely integrable (differential-difference) non-linear equations which admit exact solutions in terms of theta functions of hyperelliptic curves. In this paper, we extend Toda's original approach to give hyperelliptic solutions of the Toda lattice in ter…
We describe \,$q$-hypergeometric solutions of the equivariant quantum differential equations and associated qKZ difference equations for the cotangent bundle $T^*F_λ$ of a partial flag variety \,$F_λ$\,. These \,$q$-hypergeometric solutions manifest a Landau-Ginzburg mirror symmetry for the cotangent bundle. We formulate and prove Pieri rules for quantum equivariant cohomology of the cotangent bundle. Our Gamma theorem for \,$T^*F_λ$ \,says that the leading term of the asymptotics of the \,$q$-hypergeometric solutions can be written as the equivariant Gamma class of the tangent bundle of $T^*F…
