The extremal 3-modular lattice $[\pm G_2(3)]_{14}$ with automorphism group $C_2 \times G_2(\F_3) $ is the unique dual strongly perfect lattice of dimension 14.

We classify the dual strongly perfect lattices in dimension 16. There are four pairs of such lattices, the famous Barnes-Wall lattice $Λ_{16}$, the extremal 5-modular lattice $N_{16}$, the odd Barnes-Wall lattice $O_{16}$ and its dual, and one pair of new lattices $Γ_{16}$ and its dual. The latter pair belongs to a new infinite series of dual strongly perfect lattices, the sandwiched Barnes-Wall lattices, described by the authors in a previous paper. An updated table of all known strongly perfect lattices up to dimension 26 is available in the catalogue of lattices.
We present an adaptation of Voronoi theory for imaginary quadratic number fields of class number greater than 1. This includes a characterisation of extreme Hermitian forms which is analogous to the classic characterisation of extreme quadratic forms as well as a version of Voronoi's famous algorithm which may be used to enumerate all perfect Hermitian forms for a given imaginary quadratic number field in dimensions 2 and 3. We also present an application of the algorithm which allows to determine generators of the general linear group of an $Ø_K$-lattice.
A polytope $D$ whose vertices belong to a lattice of rank $d$ is Delaunay if there is a circumscribing $d$-dimensional ellipsoid, $E$, with interior free of lattice points so that the vertices of $D$ lie on $E$. If in addition, the ellipsoid $E$ is uniquely determined by $D$, we call $D$ perfect. That is, a perfect Delaunay polytope is a lattice polytope with a circumscribing empty ellipsoid $E$, where the quadratic surface $\partial E$ both contains the vertices of $D$ and is determined by them. We have been able to construct infinite sequences of perfect Delaunay polytopes, one perfect polyt…
We construct several families of perfect sublattices with minimum $4$ of $\mathbb Z^d$. In particular, the number of $d-$dimensional perfect integral lattices with minimum $4$ grows faster than $d^k$ for every exponent $k$.
We show that the number $p\_d$ of non-similar perfect $d$-dimensional lattices satisfies eventually the inequalities$e^{d^{1-ε}}<p\_d<e^{d^{3+ε}}$ for arbitrary smallstrictly positive $ε$.
We introduce a parameter space for periodic point sets, given as unions of $m$ translates of point lattices. In it we investigate the behavior of the sphere packing density function and derive sufficient conditions for local optimality. Using these criteria we prove that perfect, strongly eutactic lattices cannot be locally improved to yield a periodic sphere packing with greater density. This applies in particular to the densest known lattice sphere packings in dimension $d\leq 8$ and $d=24$.
We classify strongly modular lattices with longest and second longest possible shadow.
Given a lattice L of R^n, a polytope D is called a Delaunay polytope in L if the set of its vertices is S\cap L where S is a sphere having no lattice points in its interior. D is called perfect if the only ellipsoid in R^n that contains S\cap L is exactly S. For a vector v of the Leech lattice Λ_{24} we define Λ_{24}(v) to be the lattice of vectors of Λ_{24} orthogonal to v. We studied Delaunay polytopes of L=Λ_{24}(v) for |v|^2<=22. We found some remarkable examples of Delaunay polytopes in such lattices and disproved a number of long standing conjectures. In particular, we discovered: --Perf…

New series of $2^{2m}$-dimensional universally strongly perfect lattices $Λ_I $ and $Γ_J $ are constructed with $$2BW_{2m} ^{\#} \subseteq Γ_J \subseteq BW_{2m} \subseteq Λ_I \subseteq BW _{2m}^{\#} .$$ The lattices are found by restricting the spin representations of the automorphism group of the Barnes-Wall lattice to its subgroup ${\mathcal U}_m:={\mathcal C}_m (4^H_{\bf 1}) $. The group ${\mathcal U}_m$ is the Clifford-Weil group associated to the Hermitian self-dual codes over ${\bf F} _4$ containing ${\bf 1}$, so the ring of polynomial invariants of ${\mathcal U}_m$ is spanned by the gen…
In this paper, we classify the perfect lattices in dimension 8. There are 10916 of them. Our classification heavily relies on exploiting symmetry in polyhedral computations. Here we describe algorithms making the classification possible.
We calculate the action of some Hecke operators on spaces of modular forms spanned by the Siegel theta-series of certain genera of strongly modular lattices closely related to the Leech lattice. Their eigenforms provide explicit examples of Siegel cusp forms.
Let p be a prime. We prove that there is an anti-equivalence between the category of unipotent strongly divisible lattices of weight p-1 and the category of Galois stable Z_p lattices in unipotent semi-stable representations with Hodge-Tate weights in {0, ..., p-1}. This completes the last remaining piece of Breuil's Conjecture(Conjecture 2.2.6 in [Bre02]).
A lattice Delaunay polytope D is called perfect if it has the property that there is a unique circumscribing ellipsoid with interior free of lattice points, and with the surface containing only those lattice points that are the vertices of D. An inhomogeneous quadratic form is called perfect if it is determined by such a circumscribing ''empty ellipsoid'' uniquely up to a scale factor. Perfect inhomogeneous forms are associated with perfect Delaunay polytopes in much the way that perfect homogeneous forms are associated with perfect point lattices. We have been able to construct some infinite …
A lattice Delaunay polytope is known as perfect if the only ellipsoid, that can be circumscribed about it, is its Delaunay sphere. Perfect Delaunay polytopes are in one-to-one correspondence with arithmetic equivalence classes of positive quadratic functions on the n-dimensional integral lattice that can be recovered, up to a scale factor, from the representations of its minimum. We develop a structural theory of such polytopes and describe all known perfect Delaunay polytopes in dimensions one through eight. We suspect that this list is complete.
This paper is a slightly extended version of the talk I gave at the Open Problems in Algebraic Combinatorics conference at the University of Minnesota in May 2022. We introduce two strict order relations on lattice paths and formulate several open problems. The topic is related to Markov numbers, the Lagrange spectrum, snake graphs and the cluster algebra of the once punctured torus. Our lattice paths are required to proceed by North and East steps and never go over the diagonal. To define the order relations, we first construct a snake graph $\mathcal{G}(ω)$ and a band graph $\overline{\mathc…
George Voronoi (1908, 1909) introduced two important reduction methods for positive quadratic forms: the reduction with perfect forms, and the reduction with L-type domains, often called domains of Delaunay type. The first method is important in studies of dense lattice packings of spheres. The second method provides the key tools for finding the least dense lattice coverings with equal spheres in lower dimensions. In his investigations Voronoi heavily relied on that in dimensions less than 6 the partition of the cone of positive quadratic forms into L-types refines the partition of this cone …
