We consider dynamical systems generated by skew products of affine contractions on the real line over angle-multiplying maps on the circle $S^1$: $ T:S^{1}\times \R\to S^1\times \R, T(x,y)=(\ell x, λy+f(x)) $ where $\ell\geq 2$, $0<λ<1$ and $f$ is a $C^r$ function on $S^1$. We show that, if $λ^{1+2s}\ell>1$ for some $0\leq s< r-2$, the density of the SBR measure for $T$ is contained in the Sobolev space $W^s(S^1\times \R)$ for almost all ($C^r$ generic, at least) $f$.

Solenoidal attractors with bounded combinatorics are shy

We show that in a generic finite-dimensional real-analytic family of real-analytic multimodal maps, the subset of parameters on which the corresponding map has a solenoidal attractor with bounded combinatorics is a set with zero Lebesgue measure.

Dimension of a class of intrinsically transversal solenoidal attractors in high dimensions

We study the fractal dimension of a class of solenoidal attractors in dimensions greater or equal than 3, proving that if the contraction is sufficiently strong, the expansion is close to conformal and the attractor satisfy a geometrical condition of transversality between its components, then the Hausdorff and box-counting dimension of every stable section of the attractor have the same value, which corresponds to the zero of the topological pressure as in Bowen's formula. We also calculate the dimension of the attractor and prove that it is continuous in this class.

A Dichotomy for the dimension of solenoidal attractors on high dimensional space

Regularity of the Density of SRB Measures for Solenoidal Attractors

We show that a class of higher-dimensional hyperbolic endomorphisms admit absolutely continuous invariant probabilities whose density are regular. On the Topology of Solenoidal Attractors of the Cylinder

We study the dynamics of skew product endomorphisms acting on the cylinder $\cyl$, of the form $$ \tht \mapsto (\ell θ, \la θ+ τ(θ)), $$ where $ \ell \geq 2$ is an integer, $\la \in (0,1)$ and $τ: \T \to \R$ is a continuous function. We are interested on {\it topological} properties of the global attractor $\Omegalt$ of this map. Given $\ell$ and a Lipschitz function $τ$, we show that the attractor set $\Omegalt$ is homeomorphic to a closed topological annulus for all $\la$ sufficiently close to 1. Existence and smoothness of the stable foliation for sectional hyperbolic attractors

We prove the existence of a contracting invariant topological foliation in a full neighborhood for partially hyperbolic attractors. Under certain bunching conditions it can then be shown that this stable foliation is smooth. Specialising to sectional hyperbolic attractors, we give a verifiable condition for bunching. In particular, we show that the stable foliation for the classical Lorenz equation (and nearby vector fields) is better than $C^1$ which is crucial for recent results on exponential decay of correlations. In fact the foliation is at least $C^{1.278}$.

Explosion of smoothness for conjugacies between multimodal maps

Let $f$ and $g$ be smooth multimodal maps with no periodic attractors and no neutral points. If a topological conjugacy $h$ between $f$ and $g$ is $C^{1}$ at a point in the nearby expanding set of $f$, then $h$ is a smooth diffeomorphism in the basin of attraction of a renormalization interval of $f$. In particular, if $f:I \to I$ and $g:J \to J$ are $C^r$ unimodal maps and $h$ is $C^{1}$ at a boundary of $I$ then $h$ is $C^r$ in $I$.
