Relations of al Functions over Subvarieties in a Hyperelliptic Jacobian
The sine-Gordon equation has hyperelliptic al function solutions over a hyperelliptic Jacobian for $y^2 = f(x)$ of arbitrary genus $g$. This article gives an extension of the sine-Gordon equation to that over subvarieties of the hyperelliptic Jacobian. We also obtain the condition that the sine-Gordon equation in a proper subvariety of the Jacobian is defined.

Genus 3 hyperelliptic curves with (2, 4, 4)-split Jacobians
We study degree 2 and 4 elliptic subcovers of hyperelliptic curves of genus 3 defined over $\mathbb C$. The family of genus 3 hyperelliptic curves which have a degree 2 cover to an elliptic curve $E$ and degree 4 covers to elliptic curves $E_1$ and $E_2$ is a 2-dimensional subvariety of the hyperelliptic moduli $\mathcal H_3$. We determine this subvariety explicitly. For any given moduli point $\mathfrak p \in \mathcal H_3$ we determine explicitly if the corresponding genus 3 curve $\mathcal X$ belongs or not to such family. Hyperelliptic Jacobians and isogenies
Motivated by results of Mestre and Voisin, in this note we mainly consider abelian varieties isogenous to hyperelliptic Jacobians In the first part we prove that a very general hyperelliptic Jacobian of genus $g\ge 4$ is not isogenous to a non-hyperelliptic Jacobian. As a consequence we obtain that the Intermediate Jacobian of a very general cubic threefold is not isogenous to a Jacobian. Another corollary tells that the Jacobian of a very general $d$-gonal curve of genus $g \ge 4$ is not isogenous to a different Jacobian. Hyperelliptic genus 4 curves on abelian surfaces
We study smooth curves on abelian surfaces, especially for genus 4, when the complementary subvariety in the Jacobian is also a surface. We show that up to translation there is exactly one genus 4 hyperelliptic curve on a general (1, 3)-polarised abelian surface. We investigate these curves and show that their Jacobians contain a surface and its dual as complementary abelian subvarieties.

Generic hyperelliptic Prym varieties in a generalized Henon-Heiles system
It is known that the Jacobian of an algebraic curve which is a 2-fold covering of a hyperelliptic curve ramified at two points contains a hyperelliptic Prym variety. Its explicit algebraic description is applied to some of the integrable Henon-Heiles systems with a non-polynomial potential. Namely, we identify the generic complex invariant manifolds of the systems as a hyperelliptic Prym subvariety of the Jacobian of the spectral curve of the corresponding Lax representation. The exact discretization of the system is described as a translation on the Prym variety.

An explicit theory of heights for hyperelliptic Jacobians of genus three
We develop an explicit theory of Kummer varieties associated to Jacobians of hyperelliptic curves of genus 3, over any field $k$ of characteristic $\neq 2$. In particular, we provide explicit equations defining the Kummer variety $\mathcal K$ as a subvariety of $\mathbb P^7$, together with explicit polynomials giving the duplication map on $\mathcal K$. A careful study of the degenerations of this map then forms the basis for the development of an explicit theory of heights on such Jacobians when $k$ is a number field.
