The main topic of this paper is two folds. First, we compute the first relative cohomology group of the Lie algebra of smooth vector fields on the projective line, Vect(RP^1), with coefficients in the space of bilinear differential operators that act on tensor densities, D_{λ, ν;μ}, vanishing on the Lie algebra sl(2,R). Second, we compute the first cohomology group of the Lie algebra sl(2,R) with coefficients in D_{λ, ν;μ}.

On the Cohomology of the spaces of differential operators acting on skewsymmetric tensor fields or on forms, as modules of the Lie algebra of vector fields

The space of differential operators acting on skewsymmetric tensor fields or on smooth forms of a smooth manifold are representations of its Lie algebra of vector fields. We compute the first cohomology spaces of these representations and show how they are related to the cohomology with coefficients in ther space of smooth functions of the manifold.

On the cohomology of sl(m+1,R) acting on differential operators and sl(m+1,R)-equivariant symbol

One computes the cohomology of the projective embedding of sl(m+1,R) acting on the differential operators on densities on R^m of various weights. This cohomology is non vanishing only for some special critical values of the weights. This allows us first to explain some strange feature pointed out by Gargoubi in his classification if the module of differential operators on the line. This also allows us to provide a so called sl(m+1,R) invariant symbol for differential operators acting on densities of non critical weights.

Irreducibly acting subgroups of $Gl(n,\rr)$

In this note we prove the following three algebraic facts which have applications in the theory of holonomy groups and homogeneous spaces: Any irreducibly acting connected subgroup $G \subset Gl(n,\rr)$ is closed. Moreover, if $G$ admits an invariant bilinear form of Lorentzian signature, $G$ is maximal, i.e. it is conjugated to $SO(1,n-1)_0$. Finally we calculate the vector space of $G$-invariant symmetric bilinear forms, show that it is at most 3-dimensional, and determine the maximal stabilizers for each dimension.

The Binary $\mathfrak{aff}(n|1)$-Invariant Differential Operators On Weighted Densities On The Superspace $\mathbb{R}^{1|n}$ And $\mathfrak{aff}(n|1)$-Relative Cohomology

We consider the $\mathfrak{aff}(n|1)-$module structure on the spaces of differential bilinear operators acting on the superspaces of weighted densities. We classify $\mathfrak{aff}(n|1)-$invariant binary differential operators acting on the spaces of weighted densities. This result allows us to compute the first $\mathfrak{aff}(n|1)-$relative differential cohomology of $\mathcal{K}(n)$ with coefficients in the superspace of linear differential operators acting on the superspaces of weighted densities.

A compact manifold with infinite-dimensional co-invariant cohomology

Let $M$ be a smooth manifold. When $Γ$ is a group acting on the manifold $M$ by diffeomorphisms one can define the $Γ$-co-invariant cohomology of $M$ to be the cohomology of the differential complex $Ω_c(M)_Γ=\mathrm{span}\{ω-γ^*ω,\;ω\inΩ_c(M),\;γ\inΓ\}.$ For a Lie algebra $\mathcal{G}$ acting on the manifold $M$, one defines the cohomology of $\mathcal{G}$-divergence forms to be the cohomology of the complex $\mathcal{C}_{\mathcal{G}}(M)=\mathrm{span}\{L_Xω,\;ω\inΩ_c(M),\;X\in\mathcal{G}\}.$ In this short paper we present a situation where these two cohomologies are infinite dimensional.

Cohomology of groups of diffeomorphims related to the modules of differential operators on a smooth manifold

Let $M$ be a manifold and $T^*M$ be the cotangent bundle. We introduce a 1-cocycle on the group of diffeomorphisms of $M$ with values in the space of linear differential operators acting on $C^{\infty} (T^*M).$ When $M$ is the $n$-dimensional sphere, $S^n$, we use this 1-cocycle to compute the first-cohomology group of the group of diffeomorphisms of $S^n$, with coefficients in the space of linear differential operators acting on contravariant tensor fields.

The Binary Invariant Differential Operators on Weighted Densities on the superspace $\mathbb{R}^{1|n}$ and Cohomology

Over the $(1,n)$-dimensional real superspace, $n>1$, we classify $\mathcal{K}(n)$-invariant binary differential operators acting on the superspaces of weighted densities, where $\mathcal{K}(n)$ is the Lie superalgebra of contact vector fields. This result allows us to compute the first differential cohomology of %the Lie superalgebra $\mathcal{K}(n)$ with coefficients in the superspace of linear differential operators acting on the superspaces of weighted densities--a superisation of a result by Feigin and Fuchs. We explicitly give 1-cocycles spanning these cohomology spaces.

Duality for Lie-Rinehart algebras and the modular class

We introduce a notion of duality for a Lie-Rinehart algebra giving certain bilinear pairings in its cohomology generalizing the usual notions of Poincaré duality in Lie algebra cohomology and de Rham cohomology. We show that the duality isomorphisms can be given by a cap product with a suitable fundamental class and hence may be taken natural in any reasonable sense. Differential Borel equivariant cohomology via connections

For a compact Lie group acting on a smooth manifold, we define the differential cohomology of a certain quotient stack involving principal bundles with connection. This produces differential equivariant cohomology groups that map to the Cartan-Weil equivariant forms and to Borel's equivariant integral cohomology. Witten deformation and polynomial differential forms

As is well-known, the Witten deformation of the De Rham complex computes the De Rham cohomology. In this paper we study the Witten deformation on a noncompact manifold and restrict it to differential forms which behave polynomially near infinity. Open String BRST Cohomology for Generalized Complex Branes

It has been shown recently that the geometry of D-branes in general topologically twisted (2,2) sigma-models can be described in the language of generalized complex structures.
