The integrality conjecture and the cohomology of preprojective stacks

We study the Borel-Moore homology of stacks of representations of preprojective algebras $Π_Q$, via the study of the DT theory of the undeformed 3-Calabi-Yau completion $Π_Q[x]$. Via a result on the supports of the BPS sheaves for $Π_Q[x]$-mod, we prove purity of the BPS cohomology for the stack of $Π_Q[x]$-modules, and define BPS sheaves for stacks of $Π_Q$-modules. These are mixed Hodge modules on the coarse moduli space of $Π_Q$-modules that control the Borel-Moore homology and geometric representation theory associated to these stacks. Algebraic Cycles Representing Cohomology Operations

In this paper we show that certain universal homology classes which are fundamental in topology are algebraic. To be specific, the products of Eilenberg-MacLane spaces ${\cal K}_{2q} \equiv K({\Bbb Z},2) \times K({\Bbb Z}, 4) \times ... \times K({\Bbb Z}, 2q)$ have models which are limits of complex projective varieties. Precisely, we have ${\cal K}_{2q} = \lim_{d\to\infty}{\cal C}_d^q({\Bbb P}^n)$ where ${\cal C}_d^q({\Bbb P}^n)$ denotes the Chow variety of effective cycles of codimension $q$ and degree $d$ on ${\Bbb P}^n$. On the integral cohomology of smooth toric varieties

Let $X_Σ$ be a smooth, not necessarily compact toric variety. We show that a certain complex, defined in terms of the fan $Σ$, computes the integral cohomology of $X_Σ$, including the module structure over the homology of the torus. In some cases we can also give the product. As a corollary we obtain that the cycle map from Chow groups to integral Borel-Moore homology is split injective for smooth toric varieties. Another result is that the differential algebra of singular cochains on the Borel construction of $X_Σ$ is formal.

Semi-algebraic partition and basis of Borel-Moore homology of hyperplane arrangements

We describe an explicit semi-algebraic partition for the complement of a real hyperplane arrangement such that each piece is contractible and so that the pieces form a basis of Borel-Moore homology. We also give an explicit correspondence between the de Rham cohomology and the Borel-Moore homology.

Cohomology of algebraic varieties over non-archimedean fields

We develop a sheaf cohomology theory of algebraic varieties over an algebraically closed non-trivially valued non-archimedean field $K$ based on Hrushovski-Loeser's stable completion. In parallel, we develop a sheaf cohomology of definable subsets in o-minimal expansions of the tropical semi-group $Γ_\infty$, where $Γ$ denotes the value group of $K$. For quasi-projective varieties, both cohomologies are strongly related by a deformation retraction of the stable completion homeomorphic to a definable subset of $Γ_\infty$. Oriented Borel-Moore homologies of toric varieties

We generalize the Künneth formula for Chow groups to an arbitrary OBM-homology theory satisfying descent (e.g. algebraic cobordism) when taking a product with a toric variety. As a corollary we obtain a universal coefficient theorem for the operational cohomology rings. We also give a description for the homology groups of smooth toric varieties, that allows the calculation of algebraic cobordism groups of singular toric varieties. Equivariant Chow cohomology of nonsimplicial toric varieties

For a toric variety X_P determined by a rational polyhedral fan P in a lattice N, Payne shows that the equivariant Chow cohomology of X_P is the Sym(N)--algebra C^0(P) of integral piecewise polynomial functions on P. We use the Cartan-Eilenberg spectral sequence to analyze the associated reflexive sheaf on Proj(N), showing that the Chern classes depend on subtle geometry of P and giving criteria for the splitting of the sheaf as a sum of line bundles. Lie algebroid cohomology as a derived functor

We show that the hypercohomology of the Chevalley-Eilenberg-de Rham complex of a Lie algebroid L over a scheme with coefficients in an L-module can be expressed as a derived functor. We use this fact to study a Hochschild-Serre type spectral sequence attached to an extension of Lie algebroids.

A theory of algebraic cocycles

We introduce the notion of an algebraic cocycle as the algebraic analogue of a map to an Eilenberg-MacLane space. Using these cocycles we develop a ``cohomology theory" for complex algebraic varieties. The theory is bigraded, functorial, and admits Gysin maps. It carries a natural cup product and a pairing to $L$-homology. Chern classes of algebraic bundles are defined in the theory. There is a natural transformation to (singular) integral cohomology theory that preserves cup products. Computations in special cases are carried out. Basic cohomology of canonical holomorphic foliations on complex moment-angle manifolds

We describe the basic cohomology ring of the canonical holomorphic foliation on a moment-angle manifold, LVMB-manifold or any complex manifold with a maximal holomorphic torus action. Namely, we show that the basic cohomology has a description similar to the cohomology ring of a complete simplicial toric variety due to Danilov and Jurkiewicz. This settles a question of Battaglia and Zaffran, who previously computed the basic Betti numbers for the canonical holomorphic foliation in the case of a shellable fan. Intersection cohomology on nonrational polytopes

Viewing a fan as a partially ordered set (of cones) we consider a category of sheaves on the fan which corresponds to a category of equivariant sheaves on the corresponding toric variety if the fan is rational. In this category we define an object which corresponds to the equivariant intersection cohomology complex. Our first main result is the ``elementary'' decomposition theorem for the direct image under subdivision of fans We also develop the Borel-Moore- Verdier duality in the derived category of sheaves on the fan.
