In this paper the relations between the existence of Lagrangian fibration of Hyper-Kähler manifolds and the existence of the Large Radius Limit is established. It is proved that if the the rank of the second homology group of a Hyper-Kähler manifold N of complex dimension $2n\geq4$ is at least 5, then there exists an unipotent element T in the mapping class group $Γ$(N) such that its action on the second cohomology group satisfies $(T-id)^{2}\neq0$ and $(T-id)^{3}=0.$ A Theorem of Verbitsky implies that the symmetric power $S^{n}(T)$ acts on $H^{2n}$ and it satisfies $(S^{n}% (T)-id)^{2n}\neq0$ and $(S^{n}(T)-id)^{2n+1}=0.$ This fact established the existence of Large Radius Limit for Hyper-Kähler manifolds for polarized algebraic Hyper-Kähler manifolds. Using the theory of vanishing cycles it is proved that if a Hyper-Kähler manifold admits a Lagrangian fibration then the rank of the second homology group is greater than or equal to five. It is also proved that the fibre of any Lagrangian fibration of a Hyper-Kähler manifold is homological to a vanishing invariant $2n$ cycle of a maximal unipotent element acting on the middle homology. According to Clemens this vanishing invariant cycle can be realized as a torus. I conjecture that the SYZ conjecture implies finiteness of the topological types of Hyper-Kähler manifolds of fix dimension.
We introduce the wrapped Donaldson-Fukaya category of a (generalized) semi-toric SYZ fibration with Lagrangian section satisfying a tameness condition at infinity. Examples include the Gross fibration on the complement of an anti-canonical divisor in a toric Calabi-Yau 3-fold. We compute the wrapped Floer cohomology of a Lagrangian section and find that it is the algebra of functions on the Hori-Vafa mirror. The latter result is the key step in proving homological mirror symmetry for this case. The techniques developed here allow the construction in general of the wrapped Fukaya category on an…
SYZ mirror conjecture predicts that a Calabi-Yau manifold $X$ consists of a family of tori which are dual to a family of special lagrangian tori on the mirror dual manifold $\hat{X}$. Here we consider a fibration of polarized abelian varieties and we construct a dual one. Moreover we prove that they are equivalent at the level of derived categories.
Given any smooth cubic curve $E\subseteq \mathbb{P}^2$, we show that the complex affine structure of the special Lagrangian fibration of $\mathbb{P}^2\setminus E$ constructed by Collins--Jacob--Lin arXiv:1904.08363 coincides with the affine structure used in Carl--Pomperla--Siebert for constructing mirror. Moreover, we use the Floer-theoretical gluing method to construct a mirror using immersed Lagrangians, which is shown to agree with the mirror constructed by Carl--Pomperla--Siebert.
In this paper, we study the geometry of the SYZ transform on a semi-flat Lagrangian torus fibration. Our starting point is an investigation on the relation between Lagrangian surgery of a pair of straight lines in a symplectic 2-torus and extension of holomorphic vector bundles over the mirror elliptic curve, via the SYZ transform for immersed Lagrangian multi-sections. This study leads us to a new notion of equivalence between objects in the immersed Fukaya category of a general compact symplectic manifold $(M, ω)$, under which the immersed Floer cohomology is invariant; in particular, this p…
For a toric Calabi-Yau (CY) orbifold $\mathcal{X}$ whose underlying toric variety is semi-projective, we construct and study a non-toric Lagrangian torus fibration on $\mathcal{X}$, which we call the Gross fibration. We apply the Strominger-Yau-Zaslow (SYZ) recipe to the Gross fibration of $\mathcal{X}$ to construct its mirror with the instanton corrections coming from genus 0 open orbifold Gromov-Witten (GW) invariants, which are virtual counts of holomorphic orbi-disks in $\mathcal{X}$ bounded by fibers of the Gross fibration. We explicitly evaluate all these invariants by first proving an o…
In this paper we give a construction of Lagrangian torus fibration for Calabi-Yau hypersurface in toric variety via the method of gradient flow. Using our construction of Lagrangian torus fibration, we are able to prove the symplectic topological version of SYZ mirror conjecture for generic Calabi-Yau hypersurface in toric variety. We will also be able to give precise formulation of SYZ mirror conjecture in general (including singular locus and duality of singular fibres).
We construct a Lagrangian torus fibration on a smooth hypertoric variety and a corresponding SYZ mirror variety using $T$-duality and generating functions of open Gromov-Witten invariants. The variety is singular in general. We construct a resolution using the wall and chamber structure of the SYZ base.
Motivated by observations in physics, mirror symmetry is the concept that certain manifolds come in pairs $X$ and $Y$ such that the complex geometry on $X$ mirrors the symplectic geometry on $Y$. It allows one to deduce symplectic information about $Y$ from known complex properties of $X$. Strominger-Yau-Zaslow arXiv:hep-th/9606040 described how such pairs arise geometrically as torus fibrations with the same base and related fibers, known as SYZ mirror symmetry. Kontsevich arXiv:alg-geom/9411018 conjectured that a complex invariant on $X$ (the bounded derived category of coherent sheaves) sho…
We consider mirror symmetry for (essentially arbitrary) hypersurfaces in (possibly noncompact) toric varieties from the perspective of the Strominger-Yau-Zaslow (SYZ) conjecture. Given a hypersurface $H$ in a toric variety $V$ we construct a Landau-Ginzburg model which is SYZ mirror to the blowup of $V\times\mathbb{C}$ along $H\times 0$, under a positivity assumption. This construction also yields SYZ mirrors to affine conic bundles, as well as a Landau-Ginzburg model which can be naturally viewed as a mirror to $H$. The main applications concern affine hypersurfaces of general type, for which…
For a local Calabi-Yau manifold which is a smoothing of toric Gorenstein singularity, this paper computes the open Gromov-Witten invariants of a generic fiber of the special Lagrangian fibration constructed by Gross and thereby constructs its SYZ mirror. Moreover it derives a relation for the generating function of open Gromov-Witten invariants of the local Calabi-Yau manifold and that of its conifold transition.
Gross and Siebert identified a class of singular Lagrangian torus fibrations which arise when smoothing toroidal degenerations, and which come in pairs that are related by mirror symmetry. We identify an immersed Lagrangian in each of these local models which supports a moduli space of objects that is isomorphic to the mirror space, and prove a homological mirror statement along the way.
In this survey paper, we briefly review various aspects of the SYZ approach to mirror symmetry for non-Calabi-Yau varieties, focusing in particular on Lagrangian fibrations and wall-crossing phenomena in Floer homology. Various examples are presented, some of them new.
For the sake of hyperk{ä}hler SYZ conjecture, finding holomorphic Lagrangian fibrations becomes an important issue. Toric hyperk{ä}hler manifolds are real dimension $4n$ non-compact hyperk{ä}hler manifolds which are quaternion analog of toric varieties. The $n$ dimensional residue circle action on it admitting a hyperk{ä}hler moment map. We use the complex part of this moment map to construct a holomorphic Lagrangian fibration with generic fiber diffeomorphic to $(\mathbb{C}^*)^n$, and study the singular fibers.
We give a construction of Lagrangian torus fibrations with controlled discriminant locus on certain affine varieties. In particular, we apply our construction in the following ways. We find a Lagrangian torus fibration on the 3-fold negative vertex whose discriminant locus has codimension 2; this provides a local model for finding torus fibrations on compact Calabi-Yau 3-folds with codimension 2 discriminant locus. Then, we find a Lagrangian torus fibration on a neighbourhood of the one-dimensional stratum of a simple normal crossing divisor (satisfying certain conditions) such that the base o…
We discuss various topics on degenerations and special Lagrangian torus fibrations of Calabi-Yau manifolds in the context of mirror symmetry. A particular emphasis is on Tyurin degenerations and the Doran-Harder-Thompson conjecture, which builds a bridge between mirror symmetry for Calabi-Yau manifolds and that for quasi-Fano manifolds. The proof of the conjecture is of interest in its own right and leads us to a few other related topics such as SYZ mirror symmetry, theta functions and geometric quantization. Inspired by the conjecture, we also propose a new construction of Landau-Ginzburg mod…
We construct pseudotoric structures (à la Tyurin) on the two-step flag variety $F\ell_{1, n-1; n}$, and explain a general relation between pseudotoric structures and special Lagrangian torus fibrations, the latter of which are important in the study of SYZ mirror symmetry. As an application, we speculate how our constructions can explain the number of terms in the superpotential of Rietsch's Landau-Ginzburg mirror.
We investigate mirror symmetry for toric Calabi-Yau manifolds from the perspective of the SYZ conjecture. Starting with a non-toric special Lagrangian torus fibration on a toric Calabi-Yau manifold $X$, we construct a complex manifold $\check{X}$ using T-duality modified by quantum corrections. These corrections are encoded by Fourier transforms of generating functions of certain open Gromov-Witten invariants. We conjecture that this complex manifold $\check{X}$, which belongs to the Hori-Iqbal-Vafa mirror family, is inherently written in canonical flat coordinates. In particular, we obtain an…
Symplectic four-manifolds give rise to Lefschetz fibrations, which are determined by monodromy representations of free groups in mapping class groups. We study the topology of Lefschetz fibrations by analysing the action of the monodromy on the universal cover of a smooth fibre. We give new and simple proofs that Lefschetz fibrations arising from pencils (i.e. with exceptional sections) never split as non-trivial fibre sums, and that no simple closed curve can be invariant to isotopy under the monodromy representation.
This paper provides the technical details of gradient flow construction and related problems, which are essential for our construction of Lagrangian torus fibrations for Calabi-Yau hypersurfaces.
We show that hyperelliptic symplectic Lefschetz fibrations are symplectically birational to two-fold covers of rational ruled surfaces, branched in a symplectically embedded surface. This reduces the classification of genus 2 fibrations to the classification of certain symplectic submanifolds in rational ruled surfaces.
In this paper we give a construction of Lagrangian torus fibration for Fermat type quintic \cy hypersurfaces via the method of gradient flow. We also compute the monodromy of the expected special Lagrangian torus fibration and discuss structures of singular fibers.
