We give an explicit description of the canonical Frobenius structure attached (by the results of the first part of this article) to the polynomial f(u_0,...,u_n)=w_0u_0+...+w_nu_n restricted to the torus u_0^{w_0}...u_n^{w_n}=1, for any family of positive integers w_0,...,w_n such that gcd(w_0,...,w_n)=1.
We study the Brieskorn modules associated to a germ of holomorphic function with non-isolated singularities, and show that the Brieskorn module has naturally a structure of a module over the ring of microdifferential operators of nonpositive degree, and that the kernel of the morphism to the Gauss-Manin system coincides with the torsion part for the action of $t$ and also with that for the action of the inverse of the Gauss-Manin connection. This torsion part is not finitely generated in general, and we give a sufficient condition for the finiteness. We also prove a Thom-Sebastiani type theore…
We associate to any convenient nondegenerate Laurent polynomial on the complex torus (C^*)^n a canonical Frobenius-Saito structure on the base space of its universal unfolding. According to the method of K. Saito (primitive forms) and of M. Saito (good basis of the Gauss-Manin system), the main problem, which is solved in this article, is the analysis of the Gauss-Manin system of the Laurent polynomial (or its universal unfolding) and of the corresponding Hodge theory.
We study the algebraic Gauss-Manin system and the algebraic Brieskorn module associated to a polynomial mapping with isolated singularities. Since the algebraic Gauss-Manin system does not contain any information on the cohomology of singular fibers, we first construct a non quasi-coherent sheaf which gives the cohomology of every fiber. Then we study the algebraic Brieskorn module, and show that its position in the the algebraic Gauss-Manin system is determined by a natural map to quotients of local analytic Gauss-Manin systems, and its pole part by the vanishing cycles at infinity, comparing…
We study here the relative cohomology and the Gauss-Manin connections associated to an isolated singularity of a function on a manifold with boundary, i.e. with a fixed hyperplane section. We prove several relative analogs of classical theorems obtained mainly by E. Brieskorn and B. Malgrange, concerning the properties of the Gauss-Manin connection as well as its relations with the Picard-Lefschetz monodromy and the asymptotics of integrals of holomorphic forms along the vanishing cycles. Finally, we give an application in isochore deformation theory, i.e. the deformation theory of boundary si…
We remark that the study of a fiber-integral of the type F (s) := f =s ($ω$/df) $\land$ ($ω$/df) either in the local case where $ρ$ $\not\equiv$ 1 around 0 is C $\infty$ and compactly supported near the origin which is a singular point of {f = 0} in C n+1 , or in a global setting where f : X $\rightarrow$ D is a proper holomorphic function on a complex manifold X, smooth outside {f = 0} with $ρ$ $\not\equiv$ 1 near {f = 0}, for given holomorphic (n+1)--forms $ω$ and $ω$' , that a better control on the asymptotic expansion of F when s $\rightarrow$ 0, is obtained by using the Bernstein polynomi…
We study certain deformations of abstract Brieskorn lattices in fixed abstract Gauss-Manin systems, and show that the ambiguity of expressions of deformations coming from automorphisms of base spaces is essentially the same as the one coming from the choice of opposite filtrations, and hence is finite dimensional, although the freedom of parameters in the expressions of deformations is infinite dimensional. As a consequence, we can prove the non-existence of a versal deformation of the Fourier transform of this abstract Brieskorn lattice with expected dimension. This shows that the generation …
A construction theorem for Frobenius manifolds with logarithmic poles is established. This is a generalization of a theorem of Hertling and Manin. As an application we prove a generalization of the reconstruction theorem of Kontsevich and Manin for projective smooth varieties with convergent Gromov-Witten potential. A second application is a construction of Frobenius manifolds out of a variation of polarized Hodge structures which degenerates along a normal crossing divisor when certain generation conditions are fulfilled.
We explain how to construct a Frobenius structure on the parameter space of the universal unfolding of a Laurent polynomial using a result of C. Hertling and Y. Manin. This new approach greatly simplifies the (classic) one used in the paper "Gauss-Manin systems, Brieskorn lattices and Frobenius structures (I)", written with C. Sabbah.
We prove some sufficient conditions in order that a root of the Bernstein-Sato polynomial contributes to a difference between certain D-modules generated by rational powers of a holomorphic function; for instance, this holds in the case of isolated singularities with semisimple Milnor monodromies. We then construct an example where a root does not contribute to a difference. This also solves an old open problem about the relation between the Milnor monodromy and the exponential of the residue of the Gauss-Manin connection on the saturation of the Brieskorn lattice. This shows that the structur…
We investigate differential systems occurring in the study of particular non-isolated singularities, the so-called linear free divisors. We obtain a duality theorem for these D-modules taking into account filtrations, and deduce degeneration properties of certain Frobenius manifolds associated to linear sections of the Milnor fibres of the divisor.
We consider a family of generic weighted arrangements of $n$ hyperplanes in $\C^k$ and show that the Gauss-Manin connection for the associated hypergeometric integrals, the contravariant form on the space of singular vectors, and the algebra of functions on the critical set of the master function define a Frobenius like structure on the base of the family. As a result of this construction we show that the matrix elements of the linear operators of the Gauss-Manin connection are given by the 2k+1-st derivatives of a single function on the base of the family, the function called the potential of…
We introduce the notion of mixed trTLEP-structures and prove that a mixed trTLEP-structure with some conditions naturally induces a mixed Frobenius manifold. This is a generalization of the reconstruction theorem of Hertling and Manin. As a special case, we also show that a graded polarizable variation of mixed Hodge structure with $H^2$-generation condition gives rise to a family of mixed Frobenius manifolds. It implies that there exist mixed Frobenius manifolds associated to local B-models.
This article develops, via the perspective of (arithmetic) algebraic geometry and category theory, different aspects of geometry of information. First, we describe in the terms of Eilenberg--Moore algebras over a Giry monad, the collection $Cap_n$ of all probability distributions on the measurable space $(Ω_n, \mathcal{A})$ (where $Ω$ is discrete with $n$ issues) and it turns out that there exists an embedding relation of Segre type among the product of $Cap_n$'s. We unravel hidden symmetries of these type of embeddings and show that there exists a hypercubic relation. Secondly, we show that t…
We give a short proof of the "prime-to-$p$ version" of the Manin-Mumford conjecture for an abelian variety over a number field, when it has supersingular reduction at a prime dividing $p$, by combining the methods of Bogomolov, Hrushovski, and Pink-Roessler. Our proof here is quite simple and short, and neither $p$-adic Hodge theory nor model theory is used. The observation is that a power of a lift of the Frobenius element at a supersingular prime acts on the prime-to-$p$ torsion points via nontrivial homothety.
Consider a meromorphic connection on P^1 over a p-adic field. In many cases, such as those arising from Picard-Fuchs equations or Gauss-Manin connections, this connection admits a Frobenius structure defined over a suitable rigid analytic subspace. We give an effective convergence bound for this Frobenius structure by studying the effect of changing the Frobenius lift. We also give some examples indicating that our bound is essentially optimal.
When we consider a proper holomorphic map \ $\tilde{f}: X \to C$ \ of a complex manifold \ $X$ \ on a smooth complex curve \ $C$ \ with a critical value at a point \ $0$ \ in \ $C$, the choice of a local coordinate near this point allows to dispose of an holomorphic function \ $f$. Then we may construct, using this function, an (a,b)-modules structure on the cohomology sheaves of the formal completion (in \ $f$) \ of the complex of sheaves \ $(Ker\, df^{\bullet},d^{\bullet})$. These (a,b)-modules represent a filtered version of the Gauss-Manin connection of \ $f$. The most simple example of th…
This article gives a survey of recent results on a generalization of the notion of a Hodge structure. The main example is related to the Fourier-Laplace transform of a variation of polarizable Hodge structure on the punctured affine line, like the Gauss-Manin systems of a proper or tame algebraic function on a smooth quasi-projective variety. Variations of non-commutative Hodge structures often occur on the tangent bundle of Frobenius manifolds, giving rise to a tt* geometry.
The recently discovered fourth class of Frobenius manifolds by Combe--Manin in opened and highlighted new geometric domains to explore. The guiding mantra of this article is to show the existence of hidden geometric aspects of the fourth Frobenius manifold, which turns out to be related to so-called causality conditions. Firstly, it is proved that the fourth class of Frobenius manifolds is a Pseudo-Elliptic one. Secondly, this manifold turns out to be a sub-manifold of a non-orientable Lorentzian projective manifold. Thirdly, Maurer--Cartan structures for this manifold and hidden geometrical p…
This work continues the study of $F$--manifolds $(M,\circ)$, first defined by Hertling and Manin and investigated in [He]. The notion of a compatible flat structure $\nabla$ is introduced, and it is shown that many constructions known for Frobenius manifolds do not in fact require invariant metrics and can be developed for all such triples $(M,\circ ,\nabla).$ In particular, we extend and generalize recent Dubrovin's duality.
