Isomorphic classification of projective tensor products of spaces of continuous functions

Two methods of constructing infinitely many isomorphically distinct $\Cal L_p$-spaces have been published. In this article we show that these constructions yield very different spaces and in the process develop methods for dealing with these spaces from the isomorphic viewpoint. We use these methods to give a complete isomorphic classification of the spaces $R_p^α$ constructed by Bourgain, Rosenthal, and Schechtman and to show that $X_p\otimes X_p$ is not isomorphic to a complemented subspace of any $R_p^α.$
Let T be be a zero-product preserving bounded linear map between C*-algebras A and B. Here neither A nor B is necessarily unital. In this note, we investigate when T gives rise to a Jordan homomorphism. In particular, we show that A and B are isomorphic as Jordan algebras if T is bijective and sends zero products of self-adjoint elements to zero products. They are isomorphic as C*-algebras if T is bijective and preserves the full zero product structure.
In the present paper we prove that the $3$-fold projective tensor product of $c_0$, $c_{0} \widehat{\otimes}_πc_{0}\widehat{\otimes}_πc_{0}$, is not isomorphic to a subspace of $c_{0} \widehat{\otimes}_πc_{0}$. We study isomorphic universality of Banach spaces of a given density and a number of pairwise non-isomorphic models in the same class. It is shown that every continuous homomorphism of Arens-Michael algebras can be obtained as the limit of a morphism of certain projective systems consisting of Fréchet algebras. Based on this we prove that a complemented subalgebra of an uncountable product of Fréchet algebras is topologically isomorphic to the product of Fréchet algebras. General structure results for analytic equivalence relations are applied in the context of Banach spaces to show that if $E_0$ does not reduce to isomorphism of the subspaces of a space, in particular, if the subspaces of the space admit a classification up to isomorphism by real numbers, then any subspace with an unconditional basis is isomorphic to its square and hyperplanes and has an isomorphically homogeneous subsequence.
