The Tetrahedral Twists

We introduce a family of piecewise isometries $f_s$ parametrized by $s \in [0,1)$ on the surface of a regular tetrahedron, which we call the tetrahedral twists. This family of maps is similar to the PETs constructed by Patrick Hooper. We study the dynamics of the tetrahedral twists through the notion of renormalization. By the assistance of computer, we conjecture that the renormalization scheme exists on the entire interval $[0,1)$. In this paper, we show that this system is renormalizable in the subintervals $[\frac{53}{128},\frac{29}{70}]$ and $[\frac{1}{2},1)$.

Twist interval for twist maps

The twist interval of a twist map on the annulus $A=\mathbb{T}\times [0,1]$ has nonempty interior if $f$ preserves the area, but could be degenerate for general twist maps. In this note, we show that if a twist map $f$ is non-wandering, then the twist interval of $f$ is non-degenerate. Moreover, if there are two disjoint invariant curves of $f$, then their rotation numbers must be different (no matter if they are rational or irrational).

Non-resonant tori in symplectic twist maps without conjugate points

We study the dynamics of a symplectic twist map without conjugate points. We show that in a neighborhood of a totally periodic Lagrangian manifold, there exists a large family of invariant Lagrangian tori on which the twist map is conjugated to a translation of non-resonant vector.

The $C^0$ integrability of symplectic twist maps without conjugate points

We prove that symplectic twist maps defined on the cotangent bundle of the d-dimensional torus that have no conjugate points are $C^0$ integrable, i.e. the cotangent bundle is continuously foliated by a family of invariant Lagrangian graphs.

A note on Schwarzian derivatives and normal families

We establish a criterion for local boundedness and hence normality of a family $\F$ of analytic functions on a domain $D$ in the complex plane whose corresponding family of derivatives is locally bounded. Furthermore we investigate the relation between domains of normality of a family $\F$ of meromorphic functions and its corresponding Schwarzian derivative family. We also establish some criterion for the Schwarzian derivative family of a family $\F$ of analytic functions on a domain $D$ in the complex plane to be a normal family.

Further Notes on a Family of Continuous, Non-differentiable Functions

We examine a parameterized family of functions F_a, all of which are continuous and some of which are nowhere or almost nowhere differentiable, we explore the behavior of F'_a and F"_a almost everywhere for different values of a, focusing on specific questions regarding F_a's differentiability for certain a, and we calculate the Hausdorff dimension of the graphs of all F_a.

Poncelet pairs and the Twist Map associated to the Poncelet Billiard

We show that for a fixed curve $K$ and for a family of variables curves $L$, the number of $n$-Poncelet pairs is $\frac{e (n)}{2}$, where $e(n)$ is the number of natural numbers $m$ smaller than $n$ and which satisfies mcd $ (m,n)=1$.
