A tripotent of a generalized triple system of second order defines a decomposition of the space of the space which consist of 10 components. It gives a generalization of the Peirce decomposition n for the Jordan triple system which consists in general of 4 components.
In this paper we study the structure of a class of algebras satisfying a polynomial identity of degree 6. We show, assuming the existence of a non-zero idempotent, that if an algebra satisfies such an identity, it admits a Peirce decomposition related to this idempotent. We studied the algebraic structure and highlighted the connections of the algebras of this class with Bernstein algebras, train algebras, Jordan algebras and power associative algebras. Keywords: Peirce decomposition, Bernstein algebra, Jordan algebra, Power associative algebra, train algebra, polynomial identity, idempotent.
The Peirce decomposition of a Jordan algebra with respect to an idempotent is well known. This decomposition was taken one step further and generalized recently by Hall, Rehren and Shpectorov, withtheir introduction of {\it axial algebras}, and in particular {\it primitive axial algebras of Jordan type} (PJs for short). It turns out that these notions are closely related to $3$-transposition groups and vertex operator algebras. De Medts, Peacock, Shpectorov, and M. Van Couwenberghe generalized axial algebrasto {\it decomposition algebras} which, in particular, are not necessarily commutative. …
An idempotent in a Jordan algebra induces a Peirce decomposition of the algebra into subspaces whose pairwise multiplication satisfies certain fusion rules $Φ(\frac{1}{2})$. On the other hand, $3$-transposition groups $(G,D)$ can be algebraically characterised as Matsuo algebras $M_α(G,D)$ with idempotents satisfying the fusion rules $Φ(α)$ for some $α$. We classify the Jordan algebras $J$ which are isomorphic to a Matsuo algebra $M_{1/2}(G,D)$, in which case $(G,D)$ is a subgroup of the (algebraic) automorphism group of $J$; the only possibilities are $G = \operatorname{Sym}(n)$ and $G = 3^2:…
We take an algorithmic and computational approach to a basic problem in abstract algebra: determining the correct generalization to dialgebras of a given variety of nonassociative algebras. We give a simplified statement of the KP algorithm introduced by Kolesnikov and Pozhidaev for extending polynomial identities for algebras to corresponding identities for dialgebras. We apply the KP algorithm to the defining identities for Jordan triple systems to obtain a new variety of nonassociative triple systems, called Jordan triple disystems. We give a generalized statement of the BSO algorithm intro…
We prove that assosymmetric algebras under Jordan product are Lie triple. A Lie triple algebra is called special if it is isomorphic to a subalgebra of some plus-assosymmetric algebra. We establish that Glennie identitiy is valid for special Lie triple algebras, but not for all Lie triple algebras.
We show that the universal associative enveloping algebra of the simple anti-Jordan triple system of all $n \times n$ matrices $(n \ge 2)$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0 is finite dimensional. We investigate the structure of the universal envelope and focus on the monomial basis, the structure constants, and the center. We explicitly determine the decomposition of the universal envelope into matrix algebras. We classify all finite dimensional irreducible representations of the simple anti-Jordan triple system, and show that the universal envelope is semisimple. We also …
We give a classification up to equivalence of the fine group gradings by abelian groups on the Jordan pairs and triple systems of types bi-Cayley and Albert, under the assumption that the base field is algebraically closed of characteristic different from $2$. The associated Weyl groups are computed. We also determine, for each fine grading on the bi-Cayley and Albert pairs, the induced grading on the exceptional simple Lie algebra given by the Tits-Kantor-Koecher construction.
In this paper, we mainly study a class of biderivations and triple homomorphisms on perfect Jordan algebras. Let $J$ be a Jordan algebra and $δ:J \times J \rightarrow J$ a symmetric biderivation satisfying $δ(w , u \circ v) = w \cdot δ(u , v), \forall u,v,w \in J$. If $J$ is perfect and satisfies $Z(J) = \{0\}$, then $δ$ is of the form $δ(x , y) = γ(x \circ y)$ for all $x , y \in J$, where $γ\in Cent(J)$ satisfying $z \cdot γ(x \circ y) = x \cdot γ(y \circ z) + y \cdot γ(x \circ z), \forall x , y , z \in J$. This is the special case of our main theorem which concerns biderivations having their…
We find a class of hermitian generalized Jordan triple systems (HGJTSs) and hermitian $(ε, δ)$-Freudenthal-Kantor triple systems (HFKTSs). We apply one of the most simple HGJTSs which we find to a field theory, and obtain a typical u(N) Chern-Simons gauge theory with a fundamental matter.
We develop a cohomology theory for Jordan triples, including the infinite dimensional ones, by means of the cohomology of TKK Lie algebras. This enables us to apply Lie cohomological results to the setting of Jordan triples. Some preliminary results for von Neumann algebras are obtained.
We determine explicit orbit representatives of reducible Jordan algebras and of their corresponding Freudenthal triple systems. This work has direct application to the classification of extremal black hole solutions of N = 2, 4 locally supersymmetric theories of gravity coupled to an arbitrary number of Abelian vector multiplets in D = 4, 5 space-time dimensions.
Let $\mathcal A$ and $\mathcal B$ be unital rings and $\mathcal M$ be a $(\mathcal A, \mathcal B)$-bimodule, which is faithful as a left $\mathcal A$-module and also as a right $\mathcal B$-module. Let ${\mathcal U}={\rm Tri}(\mathcal A, \mathcal M, \mathcal B)$ be the associated triangular ring. It is shown that every additive generalized Jordan (triple) higher derivation on $\mathcal U$ is a generalized higher derivation.
Lie-Yamaguti algebras (or generalized Lie triple systems) are binary-ternary algebras intimately related to reductive homogeneous spaces. The Lie-Yamaguti algebras which are irreducible as modules over their inner derivation algebras are the algebraic counterpart of the isotropy irreducible homogeneous spaces. These systems splits into three disjoint types: adjoint type, non-simple type and generic type. The systems of the first two types were classified in a previous paper through a generalized Tits Construction of Lie algebras. In this paper, the Lie-Yamaguti algebras of generic type are cla…
The aim of this paper is to offer an overview of the most important applications of Jordan structures inside mathematics and also to physics, up-dated references being included. For a more detailed treatment of this topic see - especially - the recent book Iordanescu [364w], where sugestions for further developments are given through many open problems, comments and remarks pointed out throughout the text. Nowadays, mathematics becomes more and more nonassociative and my prediction is that in few years nonassociativity will govern mathematics and applied sciences. Keywords: Jordan algebra, Jor…
We classify two classes of B_2-graded Lie algebras which have a second compatible grading by an abelian group A: (a) graded-simple Lie algebras for A torsion-free and (b) division-A-graded Lie algebras. Our results describe the centreless cores of a class of affine reflection Lie algebras, hence apply in particular to the centreless cores of extended affine Lie algebras, the so-called Lie tori, for which we recover results of Allison-Gao and Faulkner. Our classification (b) extends a recent result of Benkart-Yoshii. Both classifications are consequences of a new description of Jordan algebras …
Jordan geometries are defined as spaces equipped with point reflections depending on triples of points, exchanging two of the points and fixing the third. In a similar way, symmetric spaces have been defined by Loos (Symmetric Spaces I, 1969) as spaces equipped with point reflections depending on a point and fixing this point; therefore the theories of Jordan geometries and of symmetric spaces are closely related to each other -- in order to describe this link, the notion of symmetry actions of torsors and of symmetric spaces is introduced. Jordan geometries give rise both to symmetry actions …
