The zero distribution of sections of Mittag-Leffler functions of order >1 was studied in 1983 by A. Edrei, E.B. Saff and R.S. Varga. In the present paper, we study the zero distribution of linear combinations of sections and tails of Mittag-Leffler functions of order >1.
In this study our aim to define the extended $(p,q)$-Mittag-Leffler(ML) function by using extension of beta functions and to obtain the integral representation of new function. We also take the Mellin transform of this new function in terms of Wright hypergeometric function. Extended fractional derivative of the classical Mittag-Leffler(ML) function leads the extended (p,q)-Mittag-Leffler(ML) function.
Generalization of the integral representation of the gamma function has been obtained, which shows that the Hankel contour assumes rotation in the complex plane. The range of admissible values for the contour rotation angle is set. Using this integral representation, generalization of the integral representation of the Mittag-Leffler function has been obtained that expresses the value of this function in terms of the contour integral.
In this paper we survey the properties of the Schelkunoff modification of the Exponential integral and we generalize it with the Mittag-Leffler function. So doing we get a new special function (as far as we know) that may be relevant in linear viscoelasticity because of its complete monotonicity properties in the time domain. We also consider the generalized sine and cosine integral functions
The problem of calculating the Mittag-Leffler function $E_{ρ,μ} (z)$ is considered in the paper. To solve this problem integral representations for the function $E_{ρ,μ}(z)$ are transformed in such a way that they could not contain complex variables and parameters. Integral representations written in this form allow one to use standard methods of numerical integration to calculate integrals contained in them. To verify the correctness of the integral representations obtained the function $E_{ρ,μ}(z)$ was calculated both with the use of obtained formulas and with the use of known representation…
The integral representation of the two-parameter Mittag-Leffler function $E_{ρ,μ}(z)$ is considered in the paper that expresses its value in terms of the contour integral. For this integral representation, the transition is made from integration over a complex variable to integration over real variables. It is shown that as a result of such a transition, the integral representation of the function $E_{ρ,μ}(z)$ has two forms: the representation ``A'' and ``B''. Each of these representations has its advantages and drawbacks. In the paper, the corresponding theorems are formulated and proved, and…
With the increasing importance of the Mittag-Leffler function in the physical applications, these days many researchers are studying various generalizations and extensions of the Mittag-Leffler function. In this paper efforts are made to define bicomplex extension of the Mittag-Leffler function and also its analyticity and region of convergence are discussed. Various properties of the bicomplex Mittag-Leffler function including integral representation, recurrence relations, duplication formula and differential relations are established.
The paper presents an integral representation of the two-parameter Mittag-Leffler function $E_{ρ,μ}(z)$ and singular points of this representation have been studied. It has been found that there are two singular points for this integral representation: $ζ=1$ and $ζ=0$. The point $ζ=1$ is a pole of the first order and the point $ζ=0$, depending on the values of parameters $ρ,μ$ is either a pole or a branch point, or a regular point. The subsequent study showed that at some values of parameters $ρ,μ$ with the help of the residue theory one can calculate the integral included in the studied integ…
In many articles on the integral expressions of Mittag-Leffler functions, we have found that whether the integral expression can be used at the origin is still unresolved. In this article we give the applicable conditions and proof. And we also generalize some important conclusions about Mittag-Leffler function.
We consider an integral transform introduced by Prabhakar, involving generalised multi-parameter Mittag-Leffler functions, which can be used to introduce and investigate several different models of fractional calculus. We derive a new series expression for this transform, in terms of classical Riemann-Liouville fractional integrals, and use it to obtain or verify series formulae in various specific cases corresponding to different fractional-calculus models. We demonstrate the power of our result by applying the series formula to derive analogues of the product and chain rules in more general …
This article deals with the ratio of normalized Mittag-Leffler function $\mathbb{E}_{α,β}(z)$ and its sequence of partial sums $(\mathbb{E}_{α,β})_m(z)$. Several examples which illustrate the validity of our results are also given.
The paper explores various special functions which generalize the two-parametric Mittag-Leffler type function of two variables. Integral representations for these functions in different domains of variation of arguments for certain values of the parameters are obtained. The asymptotic expansions formulas and asymptotic properties of such functions are also established for large values of the variables. This provides statements of theorems for these formulas and their corresponding properties.
In the present paper, we introduce a new subclass of harmonic functions in the unit disc U defined by using the generalized Mittag-Leffler type functions. Coefficient conditions, extreme points, distortion bounds, convex combination are studied.
In this paper, we introduce a new generalized class of analytic functions involving the Mittag-Leffler operator and Bazileviuc functions. We examine inclusion properties, radius problems and an application of the generalized Bernardi-Libera-Livingston integral operator for this function class.
We prove a version of the classical Mittag-Leffler Theorem for regular functions over quaternions. Our result relies upon an appropriate notion of principal part, that is inspired by the recent definition of spherical analyticity.
This is an extensive survey of the techniques used to formulate generalizations of the Mittag-Leffler Theorem from complex analysis. With the techniques of the theory of differential forms, sheaves and cohomology, we are able to define the notion of a Mittag-Leffler Problem on a Riemann surface as a problem of passage of data from local to global, and discuss characterizations of contexts where these problems have solutions.
In this paper, we shall find the order of starlikeness and convexity for integral operators \begin{equation*} \mathbb{F}_{α_{j},β_{j},λ_{j},ζ}(z)=\left\{ ζ\int\limits_{0}^{z}t^{ζ-1}\prod_{j=1}^{n}\left( \frac{\mathbb{E} _{α_{j},β_{j}}(t)}{t}\right) ^{1/λ_{j}}dt\right\} ^{1/ζ}, \end{equation*} where the functions $\mathbb{E}_{α_{j},β_{j}}$ are the normalized Mittag-Leffler functions.
In this paper our aim is to investigate the radii of $η-$uniformly convexity, $α-$convexity, $η-$parabolic starlikeness and strong starlikeness of order $ρ$ of the generalized Mittag-Leffler function for three different kinds of normalization by using their Hadamard factorization in such a way that the resulting functions are analytic. The basic tool of this study is the Mittag-Leffler function in series. Also we have shown that the obtained radii are the smallest positive roots of some functional equations.
Integral representations play a prominent role in the analysis of entire functions. The representations of generalized Mittag-Leffler type functions and their asymptotics have been (and still are) investigated by plenty of authors in various conditions and cases. The present paper explores the integral representations of a special function extending to two variables the two-parametric Mittag-Leffler type function. Integral representations of this functions within different variation ranges of its arguments for certain values of the parameters are thus obtained. Asymptotic expansion formulas and…
We present the Littlewood-Paley Identity for the Mittag-Leffler space ML2(C; α) of entire functions. We also briefly demonstrate the connection between the Littlewood-Paley Identity and the compactness of the weighted composition operator on ML2(C; α).
In this paper our aim is to find the radii of starlikeness and convexity of the generalized Mittag-Leffler function for three different kinds of normalization by using their Hadamard factorization in such a way that the resulting functions are analytic in the unit disk of the complex plane. The characterization of entire functions from Laguerre-Pólya class and a result of H. Kumar and M.A. Pathan on the reality of the zeros of generalized Mittag-Leffler functions, which origins goes back to Dzhrbashyan, Ostrovskiĭ and Peresyolkova, play important roles in this paper. Moreover, the interlacing …
In this paper, we prove a uniform approximation theorem with interpolation for complete conformal minimal surfaces with finite total curvature in the Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^n$ $(n\ge 3)$. As application, we obtain a Mittag-Leffler type theorem for complete conformal minimal immersions $M\to\mathbb{R}^n$ on any open Riemann surface $M$.
In this paper we deal with the radii of starlikeness and convexity of the $q-$Mittag--Leffler function for three different kinds of normalization by making use of their Hadamard factorization in such a way that the resulting functions are analytic in the unit disk of the complex plane. By applying Euler-Rayleigh inequalities for the first positive zeros of these functions tight lower and upper bounds for the radii of starlikeness of these functions are obtained. The Laguerre-Pólya class of real entire functions plays a pivotal role in this investigation.
We generalize the Mittag-Leffler function by attaching an exponent to its Taylor coefficients. The main result is an asymptotic formula valid in sectors of the complex plane, which extends work by Le Roy [Bull. des sciences math. 24, 1900] and Evgrafov [Asimptoticheskie otsenki i tselye funktsii, 1979]. It is established by Plana's summation formula in conjunction with the saddle point method. As an application, we (re-)prove a non-holonomicity result about powers of the factorial sequence.
In this paper, the generalized fractional integral operators of two generalized Mittag-Leffler type functions are investigated. The special cases of interest involve the generalized Fox--Wright function and the generalized M-series and K-function. In the next Section 2 we first recall some generalized fractional integral operators among the most widely used in fractional calculus. Section 3 is devoted to the definitions of M-series and K-function and their relations to special functions. In Sections 4 and 5, effective fractional calculus of the generalized M-series and the K-function is carrie…
This paper studies a prototype of inverse obstacle scattering problems whose governing equation is the Helmholtz equation in two dimensions. An explicit method to extract information about the location and shape of unknown obstacles from the far field operator with a fixed wave number is given. The method is based on: an explicit construction of a modification of Mittag-Leffler's function via the Vekua transform and the study of the asymptotic behaviour; an explicit density in the Herglotz wave function that approximates the modification of Mittag-Leffler's function in the bounded domain surro…
The main purpose of this note is to point out the relevance of the Mittag-Leffler probability distribution in the so-called thinning theory for a renewal process with a queue of power law type. This theory, formerly considered by Gnedenko and Kovalenko in 1968 without the explicit reference to the Mittag-Leffler function, was used by the authors in the theory of continuous random walk and consequently of fractional diffusion in a plenary lecture by the late Prof Gorenflo at a Seminar on Anomalous Transport held in Bad-Honnef in July 2006, published in a 2008 book. After recalling the basic the…
We revisit the Mittag-Leffler functions of a real variable $t$, with one, two and three order-parameters $\{α, β, γ\}$, as far as their Laplace transform pairs and complete monotonicty properties are concerned. These functions, subjected to the requirement to be completely monotone for $t>0$, are shown to be suitable models for non--Debye relaxation phenomena in dielectrics including as particular cases the classical models referred to as Cole-Cole, Davidson-Cole and Havriliak-Negami. We show 3D plots of the response functions and of the corresponding spectral distributions, keeping fixed one …
