In this paper we study spherically symmetric monopoles, which are critical points for the Yang-Mills-Higgs functional over a disk in 3 dimensions, with prescribed degree and covariant constant at the boundary. This is a 3-dimensional gauge-theory generalization of the Ginzburg-Landau model in 2 dimensions.

In this paper we study massless fermions coupled to spherically symmetric $SU(N)$ monopoles without Yukawa couplings between the Higgs and fermion fields. The corresponding Dirac operator is not Fredholm and the associated eigenfunctions are not $L^2$-normalizable. Here we derive a formula for the dimension of the plane-wave normalizable kernel of such a Dirac operator for fermions of any representation of $SU(N)$ in the presence of any spherically symmetric monopole background. Notably, our results also apply to fermions coupled to monopoles that preserve non-abelian gauge symmetry.
We study SU(2) BPS monopoles with spectral curves of the form $η^3+χ(ζ^6+b ζ^3-1)=0$. Previous work has has established a countable family of solutions to Hitchin's constraint that $L^2$ was trivial on such a curve. We survey many of the important properties of spherically symmetric spacetimes as follows. We present several different ways of describing a spherically symmetric spacetime and the resulting metrics. We then focus our discussion on an especially useful form of the metric of a spherically symmetric spacetime in polar-areal coordinates and its properties. We solve spacelike spherically symmetric constant mean curvature (SS-CMC) hypersurfaces in Schwarzschild spacetimes and analyze their asymptotic behavior near the coordinate singularity r = 2M. In the current paper, first we give the correct version of the formula for mean Berwald curvature of a spherically symmetric Finsler metric given in paper \cite{YCheWSon2015}. Further, we establish differential equations characterizing projectively as well as dually flat spherically symmetric Finsler metrics. Finally, we obtain a rigidity result on spherically symmetric Finsler metrics with isotropic $E$-Curvature.

In this paper, we investigate the spherically symmetric Finsler metrics with isotropic S-curvature and obtain a characterized equation. As an application, we prove that these metrics with Douglas type must be Randers metrics or Berwald metrics. This result leads to two classification theorems.

In this paper we study spherically symmetric metrics on a symmetric space in $\mathbb{R}^n$ with scalar and constant flag curvature and we also obtain families of this type of metrics. Many explicit examples are provided for Douglas metrics with scalar and constant flag curvature. Furthermore, new examples of projectively flat Finsler metrics are given. We also provide a family of spherically symmetric Finsler metrics which are not of Douglas type.
