Given a cubic 4-fold $Y$, we provide an easy Hodge-theoretic proof of the following result of Iliev--Manivel: the relative intermediate Jacobian of the universal family of cubic 5-folds $Z$ extending $Y$ is a Lagrangian fibration.
Beauville introduced an integrable Hamiltonian system whose general level set is isomorphic to the complement of the theta divisor in the Jacobian of the spectral curve. This can be regarded as a generalization of the Mumford system. In this article, we construct a variant of Beauville's system whose general level set is isomorphic to the complement of the `intersection' of the translations of the theta divisor in the Jacobian. A suitable subsystem of our system can be regarded as a generalization of the even Mumford system introduced by Vanhaecke.
Given a K3 surface S, we show that the relative intermediate Jacobian of the universal family of Fano 3-folds V containing S as an anticanonical divisor is a Lagrangian fibration. The proof uses variations of the mixed Hodge structure of the pair (V,S).
We propose a method to study the integrable cellular automata with periodic boundary conditions, via the tropical spectral curve and its Jacobian. We introduce the tropical version of eigenvector map from the isolevel set to a divisor class on the tropical hyperelliptic curve. This survey examines separation of variables for algebraically integrable Hamiltonian systems whose tori are Jacobians of Riemann surfaces. For these cases there is a natural class of systems which admit separations in a nice geometric sense. This class includes many of the well-known cases.
One can associate to many of the well known algebraically integrable systems of Jacobians (generalized Hitchin systems, Sklyanin) a ruled surface which encodes much of its geometry. If one looks at the classification of such surfaces, there is one case of a ruled surface that does not seem to be covered. This is the case of projective bundle associated to the first jet bundle of a topologically nontrivial line bundle. We give the integrable system corresponding to this surface; it turns out to be a deformation of the Hitchin system.

For a class of non-hyperelliptic genus 3 curves C which are 2-fold coverings of elliptic curves E, we give an explicit algebraic description of all birationally non-equivalent genus 2 curves whose Jacobians are degree 2 isogeneous to the Prym varieties associated to such coverings. We study the relationship between singularities of finite-dimensional integrable systems and singularities of the corresponding spectral curves. For the large class of integrable systems on matrix polynomials, which is a general framework for various multidimensional spinning tops, as well as Beauville systems, we prove that if the spectral curve is nodal, then all singularities on the corresponding fiber of the system are non-degenerate. We establish a general link between integrable systems in algebraic geometry (expressed as Jacobian flows on spectral curves) and soliton equations (expressed as evolution equations on flat connections). Our main result is a natural isomorphism between a moduli space of spectral data and a moduli space of differential data, each equipped with an infinite collection of commuting flows. The spectral data are principal G-bundles on an algebraic curve, equipped with an abelian reduction near one point. It is known that the Jacobian of an algebraic curve which is a 2-fold covering of a hyperelliptic curve ramified at two points contains a hyperelliptic Prym variety. Its explicit algebraic description is applied to some of the integrable Henon-Heiles systems with a non-polynomial potential. Namely, we identify the generic complex invariant manifolds of the systems as a hyperelliptic Prym subvariety of the Jacobian of the spectral curve of the corresponding Lax representation. The exact discretization of the system is described as a translation on the Prym variety.
We present a geometric construction of Backlund transformations and discretizations for a large class of algebraic completely integrable systems. To be more precise, we construct families of Backlund transformations, which are naturally parametrized by the points on the spectral curve(s) of the system.
