In this paper we show how to construct explicitly induced representations for bicrossproduct Hopf algebras with abelian kernels starting from one-dimensional characters of the commutative sector. We introduce this technique by means of two concrete physical examples: two quantum deformations of the (1+1) Galilei algebra.
We analyze the elements characterizing the theory of induced representations of Lie groups, in order to generalize it to quantum groups. We emphasize the geometric and algebraic aspects of the theory, because they are more suitable for generalization in the framework of Hopf algebras. As an example, we present the induced representations of a quantum deformation of the extended Galilei algebra in (1+1) dimensions.
In this work we study the induction theory for Hopf group coalgebra. To reach this goal we define a substructure B of a Hopf group coalgebra $H$, called subHopf group coalgebra. Also, we introduced the definition of Hopf group suboalgebra and group coisotropic quantum subgroup of $H$.
We study unitarity of the induced representations from coisotropic quantum subgroups which were introduced in math.QA/9804138. We define a real structure on coisotropic subgroups which determines an involution on the homogeneous space. We give general invariance properties for functionals on the homogeneous space which are sufficient to build a unitary representation starting from the induced one. We present the case of the one-dimensional quantum Galilei group, where we have to use in all enerality our definition of quasi-invariant functional.
The infinitesimal form of the induced representation of the kappa-Poincare group is constructed. The infinitesimal action of the kappa-Poincare group on the kappa-Minkowski space is described. The actions of these two infinitesimal forms on the solution of Klein-Gordon equation are compared.
The regular representation is related to Zhu's $A(V)$-theory and an induced module from an $A(V)$-module to a $V$-module is defined in terms of the regular representation. As an application, a new proof of Frenkel and Zhu's fusion rule theorem is obtained.
Shiraishi's two parameter generalization of $U_{q}(sl(2))$ to $U_{q,p}(sl(2))$ involving an elliptic function is considered. The generators are mapped non-linearly on those of $U_{q}(sl(2))$. This gives directly the irreducible representations and an induced Hopf structure. This is one particular example of the scope of a class of non-linear maps introduced by us recently.
We construct the induced representations of the null-plane quantum Poincaré and quantum kappa Galilei algebras in (1+1) dimensions. The induction procedure makes use of the concept of module and is based on the existence of a pair of Hopf algebras with a nondegenerate pairing and dual bases.
We give an explicit criterion for the irreducibility of some induction products of evaluation modules of affine Hecke algebras of type A. This allows to describe the form of the singularities of the trigonometric R-matrix associated to any evaluation module of U_v(sl^_N).
We consider induced coactions on C*-algebras along a homomorphism of locally compact quantum groups which need not give a closed quantum subgroup. Our approach generalizes the induced coactions constructed by Vaes, and also includes certain fixed point algebras. We focus on the case when the homomorphism satisfies a quantum analogue of properness. Induced coactions along such a homomorphism still admit the natural formulations of various properties known in the case of a closed quantum subgroup, such as imprimitivity and adjointness with restriction. Also, we show a relationship of induced coa…
Unitary representations of kinematical symmetry groups of quantum systems are fundamental in quantum theory. We propose in this paper its generalization to quantum kinematical groups. Using the method, proposed by us in a recent paper (olmo01), to induce representations of quantum bicrossproduct algebras we construct the representations of the family of standard quantum inhomogeneous algebras $U_λ(iso_ω(2))$. This family contains the quantum Euclidean, Galilei and Poincaré algebras, all of them in (1+1) dimensions. As byproducts we obtain the actions of these quantum algebras on regular co-spa…
A criterion of irreducibility for induction products of evaluation modules of type A affine Hecke algebras is given. It is derived from multiplicative properties of the canonical basis of a quantum deformation of the Bernstein-Zelevinsky ring.
Properties of relative traces and symmetrizing forms on chains of cyclotomic and affine Hecke algebras are studied. The study relies on a use of bases of these algebras which generalize a normal form for elements of the complex reflection groups $G(m,1,n)$, $m=1,2,\dots,\infty$, constructed by a recursive use of the Coxeter--Todd algorithm. Formulas for inducing, from representations of an algebra in the chain, representations of the next member of the chain are presented.
We investigate the braid group representations arising from categories of representations of twisted quantum doubles of finite groups. For these categories, we show that the resulting braid group representations always factor through finite groups, in contrast to the categories associated with quantum groups at roots of unity. We also show that in the case of p-groups, the corresponding pure braid group representations factor through a finite p-group, which answers a question asked of the first author by V. Drinfeld.
We study the representations of the quantum Galilei group by a suitable generalization of the Kirillov method on spaces of non commutative functions. On these spaces we determine a quasi-invariant measure with respect to the action of the quantum group by which we discuss unitary and irreducible representations. The latter are equivalent to representations on \ell^2, i.e. on the space of square summable functions on a one dimensional lattice.
The two-parametric quantum superalgebra $U_{p,q}[gl(2/1)]$ is consistently defined. A construction procedure for induced representations of $U_{p,q}[gl(2/1)]$ is described and allows us to construct explicitly all (typical and nontypical) finite-dimensional representations of this quantum superalgebra. In spite of some specific features, the present approach is similar to a previously developed method [1] which, as shown here, is applicable not only to the one-parametric quantum deformations but also to the multi-parametric ones.
The two-parametric quantum superalgebra $U_{p,q}[gl(2/2)]$ and its induced representations are considered. A method for constructing all finite-dimensional irreducible representations of this quantum superalgebra is also described in detail. It turns out that finite-dimensional representations of the two-parametric $U_{p,q}[gl(2/2)]$, even at generic deformation parameters, are not simply trivial deformations from those of the classical superalgebra $gl(2/2)$, unlike the one-parametric cases.
We consider three quantum algebras: the q-oscillator algebra, the Podles' sphere and the q-deformed enveloping algebra of $su(2).$ To each of these *-algebras we associate certain partial dynamical system and perform the "Mackey analysis" of *-representations developed in [SS]. As a result we get the description of "standard" irreducible *-representations. Further, for each of these examples we show the existence of a "$C^*$-envelope" which is canonically isomorphic to the covariance $C^*$-algebra of the partial dynamical system. Finally, for the q-oscillator algebra and the q-deformed $\cU(su…
We study unitary representations of semidirect products of a compact quantum group with a finite group. We give a classification of all irreducible unitary representations, a description of the conjugate representation of irreducible unitary representations in terms of this classification, and the fusion rules for the semidirect product.
Some introductory concepts and basic definitions of the Lie superalgebras and their quantum deformations are exposed. Especially the induced representation methods in both cases are described. Based on the Kac representation theory we have succeeded in constructing representations of several higher rank superalgebras. When representations of quantum superalgebras are concerned, we have developed a method which can be applied not only to the one-parametric quantum deformations but also to the multi-parametric ones. As an intermediate step the Gel'fand-Zetlin basis description is extended to the…
