Let $\mathbb D=G/K$ be a complex bounded symmetric domain of tube type in a Jordan algebra $V_{\mathbb C}$, and let $D=H/L =\mathbb D\cap V$ be its real form in a Jordan algebra $V\subset V_{\mathbb C}$. The analytic continuation of the holomorphic discrete series on $\mathbb D$ forms a family of interesting representations of $G$. We consider the restriction on $D$ of the scalar holomorphic representations of $G$, as a representation of $H$. The unitary part of the restriction map gives then a generalization of the Segal-Bargmann transform. The group $L$ is a spherical subgroup of $K$ and we find a canonical basis of $L$-invariant polynomials in components of the Schmid decomposition and we express them in terms of the Jack symmetric polynomials. We prove that the Segal-Bargmann transform of those $L$-invariant polynomials are, under the spherical transform on $D$, multi-variable Wilson type polynomials and we give a simple alternative proof of their orthogonality relation. We find the expansion of the spherical functions on $D$, when extended to a neighborhood in $\mathbb D$, in terms of the $L$-spherical holomorphic polynomials on $\mathbb D$, the coefficients being the Wilson polynomials.
We construct two infinite-dimensional irreducible representations for $D(2,1;α)$: a Schrödinger model and a Fock model. Further, we also introduce an intertwining isomorphism. These representations are similar to the minimal representations constructed for the orthosymplectic Lie supergroup and for Hermitian Lie groups of tube type. The intertwining isomorphism is the analogue of the Segal-Bargmann transform for the orthosymplectic Lie supergroup and for Hermitian Lie groups of tube type.
Analysis of function spaces and special functions are closely related to the representation theory of Lie groups. We explain here the connection between the Laguerre functions, the Laguerre polynomials, and the Meixner-Pollacyck polynomials on the one side, and highest weight representations of Hermitian Lie groups on the other side. The representation theory is used to derive differential equations and recursion relations satisfied by those special functions.
The minimal representation of a semisimple Lie group is a 'small' infinite-dimensional irreducible unitary representation. It is thought to correspond to the minimal nilpotent coadjoint orbit in Kirillov's orbit philosophy. The Segal-Bargmann transform is an intertwining integral transformation between two different models of the minimal representation for Hermitian Lie groups of tube type. In this paper we construct a Fock model for the minimal representation of the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{osp}(m,2|2n)$. We also construct an integral transform which intertwines the Schrödi…
We study the Segal-Bargmann transform, or the heat transform, $H_t$ for a compact symmetric space $M=U/K$. We prove that $H_t$ is a unitary isomorphism $H_t : L^2(M) \to \cH_t (M_\C)$ using representation theory and the restriction principle. We then show that the Segal-Bargmann transform behaves nicely under propagation of symmetric spaces. If $\{M_n=U_n/K_n,ι_{n,m}\}_n$ is a direct family of compact symmetric spaces such that $M_m$ propagates $M_n$, $m\ge n$, then this gives rise to direct families of Hilbert spaces $\{L^2(M_n),γ_{n,m}\}$ and $\{\cH_t(M_{n\C}),δ_{n,m}\}$ such that $H_{t,m}\c…
Let $μ_p^{(q)}$ be the q-deformed Poisson measure in the sense of Saitoh Yoshida and $ν_p$ be the measure given by Equation \eqref{eq:nu-q}. In this short paper, we introduce the q-deformed analogue of the Segal-Bargmann transform associated with $μ_p^{(q)}$. We prove that our Segal-Bargmann transform is a unitary map of $L^2(μ_p^{(q)})$ onto the q-deformed Hardy space ${\cal H}^2(ν_q)$. Moreover, we give the Segal-Bargmann representation of the multiplication operator by $x$ in $L^2(μ_p^{(q)})$, which is a linear combination of the q-creation, q-annihilation, q-number, and scalar operators.
We develop isometry and inversion formulas for the Segal--Bargmann transform on odd-dimensional hyperbolic spaces that are as parallel as possible to the dual case of odd-dimensional spheres.
In the first part of this paper, we study the heat equation and the heat kernel associated with the Heckman-Opdam Laplacian in the compact, Weyl-group invariant setting. In particular, this Laplacian gives rise to a Feller-Markov semigroup on a fundamental alcove of the affine Weyl group. The second part of the paper is devoted to the Segal-Bargmann transform in our context. A Hilbert space of holomorphic functions is defined such that the $L^2$-heat transform becomes a unitary isomorphism.
We consider the Segal-Bargmann transform for a noncompact symmetric space of the complex type. We establish isometry and surjectivity theorems for the transform, in a form as parallel as possible to the results in the compact case. The isometry theorem involves integration over a tube of radius R in the complexification, followed by analytic continuation with respect to R. A cancellation of singularities allows the relevant integral to have a nonsingular extension to large R, even though the function being integrated has singularities.
For any Hermitian Lie group G of tube type we construct a Fock model of its minimal representation. The Fock space is defined on the minimal nilpotent K_C-orbit X in p_C and the L^2-inner product involves a K-Bessel function as density. Here K is a maximal compact subgroup of G, and g_C=k_C+p_C is a complexified Cartan decomposition. In this realization the space of k-finite vectors consists of holomorphic polynomials on X. The reproducing kernel of the Fock space is calculated explicitly in terms of an I-Bessel function. We further find an explicit formula of a generalized Segal-Bargmann tran…
Let G/K be a Riemannian symmetric space of the complex type, meaning that G is complex semisimple and K is a compact real form. Now let Γ be a discrete subgroup of G that acts freely and cocompactly on G/K. We consider the Segal--Bargmann transform, defined in terms of the heat equation, on the compact quotient Γ\G/K. We obtain isometry and inversion formulas precisely parallel to the results we obtained previously for globally symmetric spaces of the complex type. Our results are as parallel as possible to the results one has in the dual compact case. Since there is no known Gutzmer formula i…
Let $\mathcal{D}=G/K$ be a complex bounded symmetric domain of tube type in a complex Jordan algebra $V$ and let $\mathcal{D}_{\mathbb{R}}=H/L\subset \mathcal{D}$ be its real form in a formally real Euclidean Jordan algebra $J\subset V$. We consider representations of $H$ that are gotten by the generalized Segal-Bargmann transform from a unitary $G$-space of holomorphic functions on $\mathcal{D}$ to an $L^2$-space on $\mathcal{D_{\mathbf{R}}}$. We prove that in the unbounded realization the inverse of the unitary part of the restriction map is actually the Laplace transform. We find the extens…
This paper describes results of the author with B. K. Driver and T. Kemp concerning the large-N limit of the Segal--Bargmann transform for the unitary group U(N). We consider the transform on matrix-valued functions that are polynomials in a single variable in U(N). We show that in the large-N limit, the transform maps functions of this type to single-variable polynomial functions on the complex group GL(N;C). This result was conjectured by Ph. Biane and was also proved independently by G. Cébron. The first main ingredient in our proof of this result is an "asymptotic product rule" for the Lap…
We introduce an extended class of cross-Toeplitz operators which act between Fock--Segal--Bargmann spaces with different weights. It is natural to consider these operators in the framework of representation theory of the Heisenberg group. Our main technique is representation of cross-Toeplitz by two-sided relative convolutions from the Heisenberg group. In turn, two-sided convolutions are reduced to usual (one-sided) convolutions on the Heisenberg group of the doubled dimensionality. This allows us to utilise the powerful group-representation technique of coherent states, co- and contra-varian…
We describe a construction of wavelets (coherent states) in Banach spaces generated by ``admissible'' group representations. Our main targets are applications in pure mathematics while connections with quantum mechanics are mentioned. As an example we consider operator valued Segal-Bargmann type spaces and the Weyl functional calculus. Keywords: Wavelets, coherent states, Banach spaces, group representations, covariant, contravariant (Wick) symbols, Heisenberg group, Segal-Bargmann spaces, Weyl functional calculus (quantization), second quantization, bosonic field.
An integral transform for G=U(1,q) is studied. The transform maps the positive spin ladder representations of G on a Bargmann-Segal-Fock space F_n^1,q into a space of polynomial-valued functions on the bounded realization B^q of G/K. An inversion is given for the transform and unitary structures are given for the geometric realization of the positive spin ladder representations over G/K.
The heat kernel or Bargmann-Segal transform on a noncompact Riemannian symmetric space X=G/K maps a square integrable function on X to a holomorphic function on the complex crown. In this article we determine the range of this transform.
The minimal representations of Sp(r,R) can be realized on a Hilbert space of holomorphic functions. This is the analogue of the Brylinski-Kostant model. It can also be realized on a Hilbert space of L^2 functions on R^r. This is the Schröodinger model. We will describe the two realizations and a transformation which maps one model to the other. It involves the classical Bargmann transform and can be seen as its analogue.
For any Hermitian Lie group $G$ of tube type we give a geometric quantization procedure of certain $K_{\mathbb{C}}$-orbits in $\mathfrak{p}_{\mathbb{C}}^*$ to obtain all scalar type highest weight representations. Here $K_{\mathbb{C}}$ is the complexification of a maximal compact subgroup $K\subseteq G$ with corresponding Cartan decomposition $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{k}+\mathfrak{p}$ of the Lie algebra of $G$. We explicitly realize every such representation $π$ on a Fock space consisting of square integrable holomorphic functions on its associated variety $Ass(π)\subseteq\mathfrak{p}_{\mathbb{C…
We discuss a fine tuning of the co- and contra-variant transforms through construction of specific fiducial and reconstructing vectors. The technique is illustrated on three different forms of induced representations of the Heisenberg group. The covariant transform provides intertwining operators between pairs of representations. In particular, we obtain the Zak transform as an induced covariant transform intertwining the Schrödinger representation on $\mathsf{L}_2(\mathbb{R})$ and the lattice (nilmanifold) representation on $\mathsf{L}_2\big(\mathbb{T}^2\big)$. Induced covariant transforms in…
