We describe an efficient construction of a canonical non-commutative deformation of the algebraic functions on the moduli spaces of flat connections on a Riemann surface. We show that this algebra, which is a variant of the quantum moduli algebra introduced by Alekseev-Grosse-Schomerus and Buffenoir-Roche, has a trace functional which is related to the canonical trace in the formal index theory of Fedosov and Nest-Tsygan via the Verlinde formula.
We introduce a formalism for derived moduli functors on differential graded associative algebras, which leads to non-commutative enhancements of derived moduli stacks and naturally gives rise to structures such as Hall algebras. Descent arguments are not available in the non-commutative context, so we establish new methods for constructing various kinds of atlases. The formalism permits the development of the theory of shifted bi-symplectic and shifted double Poisson structures in the companion paper.
The non-commutative algebraic analog of the moduli of vector and covector fields is built. The structure of moduli of derivations of non-commutative algebras are studied. The canonical coupling is introduced and the conditions for appropriate moduli to be reflexive are obtained.
We propose an explicit relation between the cohomology of compactified and noncompactified moduli spaces of algebraic curves with punctures. This relationship generalizes one between commutative algebras and Lie algebras proposed by Lazard, Kontsevich and Ginzburg and Kapranov. More explicitly, we show that the cohomology of one moduli space is the graph complex decorated with the cohomology of the other, which in its turn generalizes Getzler's result for the genus zero moduli. We also show that a certain class of algebras over the chain operad of compactified moduli spaces has a natural struc…
We study marginal and relevant supersymmetric deformations of the N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions. Our primary innovation is the interpretation of the moduli spaces of vacua of these theories as non-commutative spaces. The construction of these spaces relies on the representation theory of the related quantum algebras, which are obtained from F-term constraints. These field theories are dual to superstring theories propagating on deformations of the AdS_5xS^5 geometry. We study D-branes propagating in these vacua and introduce the appropriate notion of algebraic geometry for non…
Trace formulas are investigated in non-commutative integration theory. The main result is to evaluate the standard trace of a Takesaki dual and, for this, we introduce the notion of interpolator and accompanied boundary objects. The formula is then applied to explore a variation of Haagerup's trace formula.
This paper contains detailed proofs of our results on the moduli space and the structure of noncommutative 3-spheres. We develop the notion of central quadratic form for quadratic algebras, and a general theory which creates a bridge between noncommutative differential geometry and its purely algebraic counterpart. It allows to construct a morphism from an involutive quadratic algebras to a C*-algebra constructed from the characteristic variety and the hermitian line bundle associated to the central quadratic form. We apply the general theory in the case of noncommutative 3-spheres and show th…
Following the guidelines of classical differential geometry the `building material' for the tensor calculus in non-commutative geometry is suggested. The algebraic account of moduli of vectors and covectors is carried out.
To some Hecke symmetries (i.e. Yang-Baxter braidings of Hecke type) we assign algebras called braided non-commutative spheres. For any such algebra, we introduce and compute a q-analog of the Chern-Connes index. Unlike the standard Chern-Connes index, ours is based on the so-called categorical trace specific for a braided category in which the algebra in question is represented.
We give simple explicit formulas for deformation quantization of Poisson-Lie groups and of similar Poisson manifolds which can be represented as moduli spaces of flat connections on surfaces. The star products depend on a choice of Drinfeľd associator and are obtained by applying certain monoidal functors (fusion and reduction) to commutative algebras in Drinfeľd categories. From a geometric point of view this construction can be understood as a quantization of the quasi-Poisson structures on moduli spaces of flat connections.
We construct a functor that associates to any dg cooperad of dg commutative algebras (satisfying some conditions) an augmented commutative algebra. When applied to the cohomology operad of Francis Brown's moduli spaces it produces an algebra that formally models the algebra of multiple zeta values. We prove that there is an injection from the graded dual of the Grothendieck-Teichmueller Lie algebra into the indecomposables of the algebra associated to the Gerstenhaber cooperad, and that there is a morphism from the algebra associated to Brown's moduli spaces to the algebra associated to the Ge…
We suggest to compactify the universal covering of the moduli space of complex structures by non-commutative spaces. The latter are described by certain categories of sheaves with connections which are flat along foliations. In the case of abelian varieties this approach gives quantum tori as a non-commutative boundary of the moduli space. Relations to mirror symmetry, modular forms and deformation theory are discussed.
We study a pair of dual operads which arise in the study of moduli spaces of pointed genus 0 curves (this duality is similar to that between commutative and Lie algebras). These operads are both quadratic, and even Koszul, and arise in the theory of quantum cohomology.
We make explicit computations in the formal symplectic geometry of Kontsevich and determine the Euler characteristics of the three cases, namely commutative, Lie and associative ones, up to certain weights. From these, we obtain some non-triviality results in each case. In particular, we determine the integral Euler characteristics of the outer automorphism groups Out F_n of free groups for all n <= 10 and prove the existence of plenty of rational cohomology classes of odd degrees. We also clarify the relationship of the commutative graph homology with finite type invariants of homology 3-spher…
We show that trace functions on modules of topological N=2 super vertex algebras give rise to conformal blocks on elliptic supercurves. We show that they satisfy a system of linear partial differential equations with respect to the modular parameters of the supercurves. Under some finiteness condition on the vertex algebra these differential equations can be interpreted as a connection on the vector bundle of conformal blocks. We show that this connection is equivariant with respect to a natural action of the Jacobi modular group on the modular parameters and the trace functions. In the append…
To any finite group G in SL_2(C), and each `t' in the center of the group algebra of G, we associate a category, Coh_t. It is defined as a suitable quotient of the category of graded modules over (a graded version of) the deformed preprojective algebra introduced by Crawley-Boevey and Holland. The category Coh_t should be thought of as the category of coherent sheaves on a `noncommutative projective 2-space', equipped with a framing at the line at infinity. Our first result establishes an isomorphism between the moduli space of torsion free objects of Coh_t and the Nakajima quiver variety aris…
For any graded bialgebras $A$ and $B$, we define a commutative graded algebra $A_B$ representing the functor of $B$-representations of $A$. When $A$ is a cocommutative graded Hopf algebra and $B$ is a commutative ungraded Hopf algebra, we introduce a method deriving a Gerstenhaber bracket in $A_B$ from a Fox pairing in $A$ and a balanced biderivation in $B$. Our construction is inspired by Van den Bergh's non-commutative Poisson geometry, and may be viewed as an algebraic generalization of the Atiyah--Bott--Goldman Poisson structures on moduli spaces of representations of surface groups.
We generalize linear superalgebra to higher gradings and commutation factors, given by arbitrary abelian groups and bicharacters. Our central tool is an extension, to monoidal categories of modules, of the Nekludova-Scheunert faithful functor between the categories of graded-commutative and supercommutative algebras. As a result we generalize (super-)trace, determinant and Berezinian to graded matrices over graded-commutative algebras. For instance, on homogeneous quaternionic matrices, we obtain a lift of the Dieudonné determinant to the skew-field of quaternions.
We introduce a generalization of variations of Hodge structures living over moduli spaces of non-commutative deformations of complex manifolds. Hodge structure associated with a point of such moduli space is an element of Sato type grassmanian of semi-infinite subspaces in H^*(X,C)[[h^{-1},h]]. Periods associated with such semi-infinite Hodge structures serve in order to extend mirror symmetry relations in dimensions greater then three.
Fix a semisimple Lie algebra g. Gaudin algebras are commutative algebras acting on tensor product multiplicity spaces for g-representations. These algebras depend on a parameter which is a point in the Deligne-Mumford moduli space of marked stable genus 0 curves. When the parameter is real, then the Gaudin algebra acts with simple spectrum on the tensor product multiplicity space and gives us a basis of eigenvectors. In this paper, we study the monodromy of these eigenvectors as the parameter varies within the real locus; this gives an action of the fundamental group of this moduli space, whic…
